Hi-Fi Rush came out of nowhere and made a name for itself in everyone's hearts, including myself. This is a rythm-action-platforming game that does almost everything well, which at the same time certainly makes up for its tiny issues. To sum up: this game by Tango Gameworks is a fresh and funny adventure that is packed with action, and that features several characters that are more than ready to take on the main stage.

Hogwarts Legacy is the video game I've always dreamt of. I didn't even think something like this could be made out of the Harry Potter franchise. Avalanche has dared to create something completely new, yet at the same time, It has preserved the very essence of the source material. It is one of those entries that puts everything else in a difficult position, first because it is miles ahead of everything that has been done before and second because the video games after will have quite a tough time to match its quality. Hogwarts Legacy is the video game that Harry Potter fans deserve, and one for which I was not ready at all.

Age of Empires II is a game that forever remains as part of your own existence. It does not matter how much time goes on, in the end you ALWAYS remember having played AOE; it is a timeless classic. You REALLY want to play this new version of the game, whether it is because you want to explore one of the greatest video games ever for the very first time, or because you are an 'old school' player that wants to re-live a glorious age that will no longer come back.

Dead Space Remake maintains and improves on everything that already made great the original game from 2008, thus bringing back one of the best survival-horror games in the last 20 years. The remake is masterful not only due to the improvements on the visual side, but also because it introduces new gameplay mechanics. AlL in all, it's a noticeable overall upgrade.

The portable version lacks some things included in the FES version that are clearly noticeable, but the gameplay is still good, the OST is simply majestic and the characters are just so charming that make up for any bad thing about the game. This is definitely one of the best stories ever told in a JRPG.

Persona 4 Golden is like that bedside book that you are so fond of, a world that you want to return to again and again to meet characters you even dream of. If you forgive the passage of time, we are facing a title that even surpasses the fifth installment, bridging the gap.

Fire Emblem Engage is a really good Fire Emblem that lacks the same difficulty progression that previous entries. The battles were way too easy at different times and some of them do not really require great strategical thinking. Other than that, overall it is a magnificent Fire Emblem, and almost made it among the best of the franchise.

One Piece Odyssey is a love letter that really knows how to hit the spot for fans. It still has room for improvement and a ton of potential, but ILCA has done well creating a well designed battle system. The OST is simply amazing, and the story is good enough to make sure to keep you entertained for a ton of hours.

High on Life has its fair share of good ideas and highlights, but there are several issues that do not allow the game to shine as much as it could. Even if the comedy aspect is exactly what you may expect from the creators of Rick & Morty, it does not work as good as in the series, and all of the jokes you come through do not really add much to the overall experience. Nevertheless, it is a fun game with characters that really help what it intends to do.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is an absolutely key and necessary piece to be able to fully absorb the essence of the Final Fantasy VII remake. Although this game does not have the same depth as the official remake of the first part in terms of changes made, Square Enix has done a phenomenal job to make the figure of Zack Fair enjoy and adapt like a charm in the middle of 2022.

The Callisto Protocol embraces fear in a very traditional way; essentially like the saying 'if It ain't broke don't fix it'. The future of space horror games is more than guaranteed within the first step of a video game that is not afraid to look to the past; It is a video game that does not shy away from showing exactly which games inspire it.

The Devil in Me is the best possible way to conclude the first season of the Dark Pictures Anthology. The combination of the introduction of new gameplay mechanics as well as the H. H. Holmes inspired villain make for a horror experience that will definitely not let you down. If this is how The Dark Pictures Anthology is going to be moving forward, then the future is bright... terrifying, and bright.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is exactly how you adapt years of tradition to the current design formulae. The game is living proof that each and every change is a perfect chance to take a step forward. In that specific sense, the risks that Nintendo undertook have certainly paid off: the ninth Pokémon generation will certainly be one to be talked about for years. Paldea is not about representing a culture, but those of us who live within it. I can only be proud to belong to a place that is seen with so much beauty from the outside. Long live Pokémon, long live Game Freak and long live all of those that made happen this beauty of a game.

Pentiment is, despite its scarce and more than simple gameplay and its few extra hours, a game that shines with its own light in a year with great releases. The new Obsidian manages to hook you with its history and all its twists, but without forgetting its social, political and religious context; Rich in nuance and depth. An obligatory recommendation for fans of both RPG's and narrative adventures, a jewel that you cannot miss.

If we talk about soccer simulators, Football Manager 2023 is simply perfect, the problem is that right now there is a ceiling that hasn't been knocked down for several years. For the franchise to really take a step forward, it is necessary to start improving other aspects of the game and continental licenses is a start, although somewhat insufficient. We'll keep waiting.

God of War Ragnarök straight blows up your mind. It is a way better game than whatever you might imagine and it is definitely the best game in the whole franchise. It actually does it all: its narrative, story-wise, the characters or gameplay, and of course the visuals; it simply is outstanding. The game lasts for about 40 hours and provides one surprise after another, it just does not make any sense at all.

Gotham Knights is an enjoyable experience led by Bat Girl, Robin, Red Hood and Nightwing, a bunch of heroes that fight together both as a homage to Batman and as a way to keep his legacy alive. The city where the games take place is full of big corporations, criminals and many, many secrets. If you are a fan of open world games and of the superhero theme, Gotham Knights definitely deserves a chance.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers feels like a lackluster experience that in spite of being able to give the player some good moments, falls extremely short. It is awful from a technical standpoint, but it also misses the point on key elements such as the matchmaking or the balance between survivor and villain. In all honesty: it should have been a free-to-play game.

Overwatch 2 is the change that Blizzard's shooter was crying out for. This one is ready to revolutionize the community and completely transform the image we had of Overwatch. His move to 'free to play' is a key element to attract more players, and other changes such as 5v5, the Battle Pass or the new characters are the perfect elements to keep them all.

The gameplay of FIFA 23 has changed to give us a slower gameplay, where the player's movement is more important and takes away weight from the use of skills. In addition, the chemistry of Ultimate Team will allow you to create more and more varied teams than ever before. So FIFA 23 manages to be a motivating product for those of us who are addicted to Ultimate Team and at the same time knows how to provide enough novelties in other game modes for those who enjoy the global game much more.
