Super Mario RPG is a remake that follows pretty closely the original game from SNES, with its core actually holding up really well. What's interesting is that Nintendo has not only pumped up the visual aspect, but it has also introduced new elements so that it measures up to today's standards. On the not so good side of things is that some players may find Super Mario RPG exceedingly easy and kind of repetitive, but even so it remains a funny and joyful experience, and you'll love the artistic side as well as the OST.- Areajugones

Persona 5 and its characters definitely work within the strategy genre, but Persona 5 Tactica certainly has some flaws: the overall story and gameplay rhythm is a bit weak when compared to Persona 5 and Persona 5 Strikers. Also, the lack of exploration is something that players will definitely notice. Still, the battle system is amazingly well integrated, and you easily become addicted to it. Moreover, there's the comeback of a certain very charismatic character, and the dialogues as well as the OST are top notch. Overall, fans will be more than happy with Persona 5 Tactica.- Areajugones

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is much more than 'just a spin-off'. This entry not only provides context for Kiryu's reapparance as a headliner within the Like a Dragon franchise, but also introduces tons of nostalgia as well as some new gameplay elements. Overall, it may not be as long as the main Like a Dragon entries (but don't fret, it cannot be considered 'short'), although it stands its ground as a video game that should be considered a must-play franchisewise.- Areajugones

The new season has begun, and Football Manager fans can rest assured. This new edition more than lives up to all its novelties, improving everything in a simulator that, now more than ever, remains the king. While awaiting the graphical improvements announced for Football Manager 2025, this edition is a significant addition for all of us who love the other side of the beautiful game.- Areajugones

The Talos Principle 2 goes far beyond the concepts of video game and art, and pushes a reflecting process that in turn helps its candidacy as one of 2023's top games. It also is a far better product than its predecessor. Croteam has outdone itself with a video game that is amazingly entertaining, but that really shines because of its capacity to make the player ponder about the ideas of beauty, humanity, life and existence.- Areajugones

Alan Wake II is the big surprise of the year, a title that is fully in the running for GOTY 2023 and that elevates the Survival-Horror genre to another level. A level never seen before in which I can only heap praise. If you're afraid, this game is not for you, but if you're not, I recommend you sit back and enjoy it. Thank you, Remedy.- Areajugones

Ghostrunner 2 is, above all, a great video game. Strictly speaking, it is a pleasant sequel that represents a noticeable improvement in plot, playability, visuals and sound; an achievement that is, due to the quality of its predecessor, a milestone in itself. However, its profound technical shortcomings, as well as the misinterpretation of what made the original experience so genuine and fresh, keep it from transcending as much as the first, although it continues to be a highly recommended product.- Areajugones

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is a compilation that, although it is very conformist and barely adds significant improvements, allows us to enjoy one of the best sagas in the history of video games on the same platform. And that's just what fans have been asking for for years.- Areajugones

Here is a fun and entertaining proposal that has its pros and cons, just like The House of the Butterflies. The game is a bit short (between 15-20 hours), which is not bad at all, but unfortunately it becomes too repetitive. The combat feel is good and Hellboy moves well, but everything becomes very linear and repetitive. It is entertaining and a treat for fans of the hero, the setting and artistic design are sublime, and the gameplay is good and simple, but it all falls short of something bigger. The proposal to set the story of Mike Mignola is fulfilled and hopefully it will be the prequel to many more.- Areajugones

Nintendo runs wild this time around with a ton of ideas that combine into a creative process with no boundaries, thus making Super Marios Bros. Wonder a point of no return in the series. It implies that whatever Nintendo creates next, it will feel empty and uninspired as long as it does not match the newly set bar by Super Mario Bros. Wonder. This game is in every sense a new big hit by Nintendo, with its presence being as impactful as Odyssey's back in the day.- Areajugones

The Crew Motorfest is an interesting racing video game that is committed to the open world, variety and spectacularity, but unfortunately it forgets to offer more polished driving and does not quite find its own style. If you are looking for entertainment and an arcade experience you should give it a try, but if you ask for more you will end up disappointed.- Areajugones

HEXWORKS has managed to take the best and the worst of the legendary From games, but adding new mechanics that make the title look fabulous. We have fascinating bosses, large areas to explore and enemies that I would not want to see even in my worst nightmares. Without a doubt, we are facing one of the great surprises of 2023 and it has most likely established the basis of some mechanics for future Soulslike-type titles.- Areajugones

Detective Pikachu Returns is a fantastic mix of cases to solve, Pokémon and Pikachu's charismatic figure. Although it is quite an enjoyable experience, it has two major flaws: low difficulty and too short a duration. Those who enjoyed the first entry will definitely have a great time with this sequel, even if it is not the masterpiece some were looking for.- Areajugones

Assassin's Creed Mirage aims for a pretty obvious main objective: to get back to the roots of the franchise, which implies taking away the RPG components that were gradually introduced with the last three entries.Mirage manages to recover the essence and magic of the Assassin's Creed games from the past, especially through its gameplay and plot. If you are one of the nostalgic fans and really needed a trip to the past, Mirage, the city of Baghdad and Basim as the main character are definitely what you were looking for.Although the game clearly speaks to the Assassin's Creed fans from back in the day, it is also designed for newcomers, so you won't need to have completed any other previous entries from the franchise in order to enjoy Mirage.- Areajugones

If it works don't fix it, and Forza Motorsport proves that very same philosophy can be one to follow. It may not be a turning point within the Forza franchise, but it is a damn good game that improves enough over its predecessor to certainly consider it a better game. The gameplay is impeccable and it is incredibly accessible even for those who do not play with a racing wheel, plus it most likely is the best game in Xbox from a visual standpoint. All in all, Forza Motorsport definitely becomes a must-have within Xbox's catalog.- Areajugones

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai is a video game that struggles to answer one of the most basic questions that must be asked when considering a project of this type: who is this game for? On the one hand, it falls short for those who have experienced the anime, and at the same time it also falls short for those who want to immerse themselves in Dai's story for the first time.- Areajugones

It is a game with an incredible base, original mechanics and that offers hours of content. In itself, Payday 3 is a ton of fun, and if you play it with friends, it's even more fun. But although not much can be said bad about that base, it has been frustrated by a very bittersweet launch with constant server crashes, matchmaking errors, some bugs, among others. Of course, nothing that cannot be solved and that will not at all allow it, once fixed, to become a truly great game that I recommend to everyone.- Areajugones

Continuous delivery that maintains the bases of previous editions, without making revolutionary changes but adding some new features that are quite promising. If Ultimate Team is well managed throughout the year, the mode could provide extra variety that was probably lacking in other seasons and allow us to enjoy it in different ways.- Areajugones

Being the best soulslike ever created, Lies of P is an absolute masterpiece that excels in all that it sets out to do; it boasts a captivating and intelligent reinterpretation of the fable of Pinocchio with magnificent and demanding combats where the level and bosses design is splendid. It also introduces a sublime and oppressive setting that makes you fall in love with each step you take, and the icing on the cake is a monumental soundtrack that boosts every single sensation. Never before has any video game captured the essence of FromSoftware with such prowess and personality, thus becoming one of the best titles of 2023.- Areajugones

Invader Studios has done a remarkable job over the previous edition. While Daymare: 1998 was a good game, this prequel beats it on pretty much everything. Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle manages to hook and catch us to pass it to us in one sitting but suffers from many seams in the strongest points of what is expected of a survival horror.- Areajugones

Armored Core VI manages to distinguish itself from all the Souls-dependance that FromSoftware has developed in recent years, and also does it while providing fun and challenging gameplay. Some boss battles will require players to tinker with their mechs, but luckily so, the incredible amount of possibilities and combinations that Armored Core VI displays will turn every hard battle into a 'mini puzzle' of sorts.- Areajugones
