Also, the console version includes some unique features that enable an easygoing experience so that you can solely focuse on exploring and having an awesome time, whether you are a lonely adventurer or play online with some friends.

Is Zelda Tears of the Kingdom the most important game in the past 10 years? My answer is: Yes, it is. It's a game that we definitely cannot define with a bunch of words, since they wouldn't ever do it justice.

Astro has been a well known representative of the PlayStation brand for quite a few years now. Nevertheless, Astro Bot is the confirmation of the little guy as the go-to platforming experience within PlayStation, even on par with legends such a Super Mario. However, it lacks magic in some moments and has a few repetitive bosses, which does not allow this game to reach the perfect score.

Retro Studios and Nintendo took the task of improving the graphics of the GameCube jewel very seriously to the point of passing it off as a remake. Its excellent mechanics now add a technical section to match. We are facing one of the best Nintendo Switch games, neither more nor less.

God of War Ragnarök straight blows up your mind. It is a way better game than whatever you might imagine and it is definitely the best game in the whole franchise. It actually does it all: its narrative, story-wise, the characters or gameplay, and of course the visuals; it simply is outstanding. The game lasts for about 40 hours and provides one surprise after another, it just does not make any sense at all.

The Last of Us 2 is a masterpiece that not only manages to stand toe to toe with the first entry, it even surpasses it. The story of TLOU2 introduces a narrative concept which is very different from what we are used to, and it keeps on surprising us again and again. Furthermore, its landscapes, gameplay and visuals will forever remain with the players as the highest expression of videogames ever achieved on the PlayStation 4.

Half-Life Alyx is proof that Valve is still at its best creatively. This emblematic franchise has been brought to virtual reality; in Alyx we enjoy an immersion never seen before, with comfortable and intuitive mechanics as well as excellent visuals and atmosphere that accompany this interesting adventure within the iconic saga.

Larian Studios has created a true masterpiece and a game that challenges other great titles for the crown of the RPG genre. Divinity: Original Sin II is everything that a role game should aim for.

It implies that whatever Nintendo creates next, it will feel empty and uninspired as long as it does not match the newly set bar by Super Mario Bros. Wonder. This game is in every sense a new big hit by Nintendo, with its presence being as impactful as Odyssey's back in the day.

Celeste is a true masterpiece of the genre and an excellent example of what a perfect level design is. Exquisite gameplay and a beautiful story make this game one of the best surprises of the modern era.

Street Fighter 6 is proof that this is the best Capcom we've seen in the last decade. This game is a turning point for the franchise, obviously designed in order to bring in new players but, at the same time, it keeps the legacy that made veteran players fall in love with it back in the day. Street Fighter 6 is actually Capcom's atonement, and it shows that the developer cares about fan feedback; this may be a little step forward for Capcom, but it certainly is a defining moment for fighting games.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is everything users want and desire. A perfectly orchestrated masterpiece by FromSoftware that leaves me with the strange feeling of wondering, is this really a DLC? The added content and the new map have left me awestruck in every sense, as well as the game's duration, which will vary for each player. But I wouldn't be exaggerating if I told you that thirty hours can easily go by if you go all out. In short, although I think it's all clear, SOET is everything we could expect from a DLC and much more. The quantity and originality of the added content are insane, so the final question would be, can a DLC be the GOTY? I think it can.

Demon's Souls Remake is one of the best launch games that any new generation has ever experienced. However, we would have liked it even more if the DualSense's technology implementation was even deeper, given that at times it is barely noticeable. Nonetheless, Demon's Souls Remake is an impressive videogame due to both its longevity and possibilities. It is a work with almost no flaws whatsoever, born more than 10 years ago and back better than ever thanks to the PS5.

Mario Kart 8 returns with a ‘Deluxe’ edition that comes with new features for this entertaining game. With better graphics and gameplay thanks to the Nintendo Switch, this is one of the best Mario Kart games ever made.

Metaphor: ReFantazio draws a lot of inspiration from Persona 5, and it translates to many good things. It manages to evolve the JRPG genre both artistically and gameplay-wise. Metaphor: ReFantazio really is a turning point for japanese RPGs, a video game that hooks you to its universe from the very first minute thanks to an exhilarating plot and incredibly charming characters.

Without exaggeration, one of the best debuts from a studio that I've seen in decades as both a player and critic.

For many years, Hollow Knight held the crown of the indie scene, but its successor has arrived to improve on what was already unbeatable. Hollow Knight: Silksong stands as one of the most refined, creative, profound, and elevated works in the history of video games, presenting itself as a leading candidate for Best Game of the Year and clinging to its predecessor's scepter to establish itself as, if we can still define it that way, the best indie game in history. Team Cherry has created an adventure for posterity that excels in everything and languishes in nothing, ultimately making a statement in an industry whose blockbusters could only dream of achieving such a level of divinity.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 improves upon all of its predecessors, and it brings to life a story full of incredible moments and tons of impressive action scenes. It definitely manages to hit the standards of the best PlayStation exclusives, with all the emotions and feelings it implies.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth on PC is much more than a simple conversion: it's a technical reinterpretation that takes full advantage of the platform's capabilities. The exemplary optimization, numerous customization options, and surprising performance on Steam Deck leaves us with an exceptional port and great work by Square Enix in bringing this work of art to as many players as possible.

There is no better game currently on the Xbox Series than Microsoft Flight Simulator; it is a complete joy on console, and this version even manages to make you forget that playing it on PC is also an option. Microsoft Flight Simulator is quite the feat for airplane simulators, a genuine hit that will follow you through hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Moon Studios is back with a sequel that has managed to expand the well-established bases of its predecessor with great success and keeping the essence of the franchise intact. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a larger, more ambitious and more complete game than the first one. Its gameplay, artistic design and soundtrack are intertwined in an enchanting mix that generates one of the best trips that can be made: the one that you have enjoyed even more than you expected.

An excellent video game but not so much as a remaster, since the original video game already looked absolutely stunning in its original release. However, if you are amongst the few that did not play The Last of Us Part II when it first came out, then playing this entry on your PlayStation 5 will be an unforgettable experience. In the end, the most remarkable asset of this remaster is found within the few novelties added to the overall content.

Hi-Fi Rush came out of nowhere and made a name for itself in everyone's hearts, including myself. This is a rythm-action-platforming game that does almost everything well, which at the same time certainly makes up for its tiny issues. To sum up: this game by Tango Gameworks is a fresh and funny adventure that is packed with action, and that features several characters that are more than ready to take on the main stage.

God of War: Ragnarök is, for many, one of the best games available on PS5 and now comes to PC in exquisite quality. It's an almost perfect port, except for some minor details that will surely be corrected with successive patches. If you haven't tried it and you have a half-decent PC, do it as soon as possible, you'll love it and you'll also enjoy the best version available.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is undoubtedly one of the best video games of 2019 and perhaps of the entire generation...Sekiro is the next step by FromSoftware, a game that brings about a ‘new land’ in-between Dark Souls and Bloodborne, and that is both original and accesible without giving away its natural essence. A new masterpiece by Miyazaki which is a must-have for any gamer.

Tekken is back at full force with a very solid eight entry. This next step for the franchise is full of content that resonates with Tekken's own historic legacy. Whether it is the amazing character design, both visually and mechanically, as well as through its many family dramas, Tekken 8 just knows how to do it all. The Iron Fist Tournament is definitely as good as ever.

Bayonetta 1 & 2 is the perfect choice if you have not had the chance to play them previously. Its style fits perfectly with the Nintendo Switch controls and the quality of both games is still amazing.

Dark Souls III is the perfect ending to the saga and offers a whole new experience and visual beauty that's greater than Bloodborne's, even with some technical issues. The multiplayer experience, especially the PvP competitive, is a true wonder. Hopefully Miyazaki and From Software will not leave this unique genre that we all love.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the perfect sequel, the best and most well-rounded entry of the franchise. Even if it was kind of tough to connect with the story at times, I also believe the game boasts the best narrative that Monolith Soft has worked on yet. To put it simply: it is the best JRPG on Nintendo Switch.

If Super Mario 3D World was a masterpiece for Wii U, in this Nintendo Switch’s version it is confirmed again. Not only that, but Bowser's Fury, the unreleased expansion that includes this adaptation, should materialize in a new iteration of Super Mario in the future because it has a lot to say. Two great games, at the price of one?

Pokémon Pokopia represents a sublime translation of Pokémon’s core themes into the settlement management genre. It features an overwhelming amount of content and countless customization possibilities—something essential for a game that aims to honor the extensive legacy of Game Freak. As a standalone spin-off, it succeeds in every sense, but as the possible beginning of a new saga, it demonstrates virtually infinite potential.

Psychonauts 2 is an act of empathy by Double Fine towards video games and oneself. If you are ready to go through it, this sequel can put aside its appearance of a classic 3D platform video game to connect with you on a very personal level. Or, at least, that's what happened to me while i was playing it. Psychonauts 2 has come like a breath of fresh air at a time in my life when I needed to stop for a moment and just breathe.

Forza Horizon 6 is the best entry in the series. Playground Games delivers a stunning open-world Japan, packed with density, verticality and personality, while the return of the wristband progression system gives the campaign real weight. Event variety hits new heights with mecha races, food delivery challenges and the best rallies the franchise has ever seen, all backed by the most ambitious soundtrack in Horizon history. It is iterative rather than transformative, and the usual issues remain (cosmetic damage, robotic dialogue, weak narrative), but the formula has never been this polished. An arcade racing masterpiece and an essential Game Pass day-one.

Dead Space Remake maintains and improves on everything that already made great the original game from 2008, thus bringing back one of the best survival-horror games in the last 20 years. The remake is masterful not only due to the improvements on the visual side, but also because it introduces new gameplay mechanics. AlL in all, it's a noticeable overall upgrade.

Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo have managed to create a game that - even if it juggles with several complex playable systems - manages to find a great balance between them to deliver one of those solid, charismatic experiences that fans will remember for years.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach far surpasses the first entry of the franchise. New elements in the sequel elevate the experience, overcoming the repetitive nature of the gameplay. Death Stranding 2 is a fully immersive game reinforced by its spectacular landscapes and fascinating soundtrack, and every element just feels like it forms a cohesive whole. What separates the sequel from being an all-time great is a mixture of some gameplay aspects as well as how long it takes for the best of Death Stranding 2 to show up. Still, it is a must play game you cannot miss this year.

Infinite Wealth improves on everything over Ichiban Kasuga's first entry. The RPG elements are well polished and expanded and the secondary content such as Dondoko Island or the Sujimon hunt is hilarious, absorbing and well worth your time. Overall, Kasuga is just a great new main character, and the main story manages to strike a proper balance between a ton of comedy... and drama.

With Requiem, Capcom has crafted the best installment in the franchise in decades. It has refined every aspect to an outstanding level, earning a more than deserved nomination for Game of the Year.

Dreams offers us a twist to the concept of ‘Play, create and share’ with hundreds of hours of entertainment and virtually endless possibilities. An exquisite campaign mode and a simply perfect finish.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is back in action with a new entry that perfectly recreates the classic gameplay and, to top it off, we get a whole new technical dimension. A full arcade experience that will be able to convince both the vets of the franchise as well as those that have never played it before.

Alan Wake II is the big surprise of the year, a title that is fully in the running for GOTY 2023 and that elevates the Survival-Horror genre to another level. A level never seen before in which I can only heap praise. If you're afraid, this game is not for you, but if you're not, I recommend you sit back and enjoy it. Thank you, Remedy.

Horizon Zero Dawn is as good as everybody expected. A powerful narrative and solid gameplay make this Guerrilla game one of the best titles that 2017 has to offer.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a masterpiece that has achieved the impossible: improving on its predecessor in every aspect while maintaining its essence. Despite its demanding initial learning curve, it offers a unique and rewarding experience that rewards patience and dedication with unforgettable moments. A cinematic narrative, high-quality side quests, and hours of entertainment are the major incentives to help Henry in one of the year's best adventures.

A ten for one of the best games in history. An eight and a half scoring only what this game is supposed to be as a remake of The Last of Us released 10 years ago. If it is your first approach to the saga, getting to this game directly on PS5 should be a unique experience. If you arrive from PS3 without having played the remastering you will notice a good jump. But if you come from PS4 and, especially from PS4 Pro, the change is not going to be so exaggerated.

NieR Automata is the ultimate JRPG, mixing this genre perfectly with the Hack n’ Slash style. It succeeds in every respect: A complex and deep story, beautiful design and a unique style. This game is a true masterpiece.

It Takes Two improves on previous Hazelights games, setting aside cinematics and betting on 'a game that has been rebuilt onto a toy'. Gameplay-wise the game is excellent: it has a ton of variety, and it is as surprising as fun until the very end. Nevertheless, the story itself is unable to properly talk about love or relationships in any way, and so it kind of puts a dent on a work that would otherwise have been a must-play experience.

Hyper Light Drifter: Special Edition is a more complete adventure that will captivate us not only due to its art, gameplay and story told by means of images, but also thanks to the deeper, real meaning that comes from projecting the heart disease of its creator.

Pentiment is, despite its scarce and more than simple gameplay and its few extra hours, a game that shines with its own light in a year with great releases. The new Obsidian manages to hook you with its history and all its twists, but without forgetting its social, political and religious context; Rich in nuance and depth. An obligatory recommendation for fans of both RPG's and narrative adventures, a jewel that you cannot miss.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a natural evolution of the series, improving on almost every aspect of its predecessors. While the main campaign can be a bit short, the real game begins in the post-game, where the possibilities multiply and the challenges become truly exciting.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is, on one hand, a sublime experience regarding the technical aspects, one which fully utilizes PS5's hardware in order to become the most 'next-gen' thing up until now. On the other hand, it is also much more than a simple showing of Sony's new console power: it is a game with both a heart and a soul, a love letter to the whole Ratchet & Clank franchise.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles does an amazing job of bringing the original game back to life. It’s the perfect way to either revisit this classic or experience it for the first time, offering a modern and comfortable way to play while keeping the elements that let new fans appreciate its timeless charm. But the lack of a Spanish translation is a glaring oversight that can’t be ignored.

Dishonored 2 returns with the formula that brought success to the first installment and makes it better. This game is better, bigger and with more choices. Arkane Studios has delivered a new masterpiece.

Cuphead is a true piece of art of the modern day videogame. The game has lived up to the expectations and it is full of detail and quality in every aspect. From its soundtrack to its wonderful design, Studio MDHR has achieved glory with this masterpiece.

Is a game always better if it has more content than its previous entry? In this specific case, I have to say no. Horizon Forbidden West still is a great game, there is no doubt whatsoever about that, but it did not manage to go to the next level. If you enjoyed the first entry of the series you are probably going to enjoy this one all the same, maybe even more. However, I feel a lack of ambition, mainly because I wholeheartedly believe that both Aloy and Guerrilla are capable of something 'bigger'.

Deathloop follows the same pattern regarding the most characteristic elements to be found on Arkane's portfolio: a superb level design, an exceptional gameplay, an interesting story and an artistic element nothing short of spectacular. A magnificent game with but a few 'but' that has managed to completely hook me from beginning to end.

The Talos Principle 2 goes far beyond the concepts of video game and art, and pushes a reflecting process that in turn helps its candidacy as one of 2023's top games. It also is a far better product than its predecessor. Croteam has outdone itself with a video game that is amazingly entertaining, but that really shines because of its capacity to make the player ponder about the ideas of beauty, humanity, life and existence.

Metroid Dread is a perfect mixture of 'things'. It is obviously a Metroidvania, but it can be enjoyed both by the connoisseurs of the genre as well as those that are complete newbies to it, it can even be considered a proper place to start exploring the genre. Even I, someone who is not particularly a fan of the Metroidvania concept, have been delighted by what Metroid Dread has to offer, and it has provided me with a ton of joy and has also surprised me more than any other game in a long time.

In short, it makes creating levels as exciting or more exciting than playing them. Miyamoto would be proud.

Monster Hunter Rise introduces several new gimmicks such as the wirebug and the Canyne that further improve the depth of the gameplay, becoming thus essential tools for future entries of the franchise. Monster Hunter Rise is, without a doubt, the definitive hunting experience in Nintendo Switch.

Civilization VI has reached perfection inside the turn based strategy genre. Complex, addictive and with a very strong personality, Firaxis wants us to spend hundreds of hours in front of our PC.

Battlefield 1 has become one of the greatest shooters based on the World War, featuring a very complete story mode, a well-polished multiplayer and a soundtrack that will be remembered well into the future. A must-buy in this videogame genre.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a great remake when it comes to the visual aspects, but not so much regarding the gameplay elements. Since the original gameplay has mostly been left untouched, the battle system doesn't shine as much as it used to, and it feels like it is lacking in dynamism. Nevertheless, the original game wasn't a hit because of the fights; it was its story that made it special, and an artistic design that still looks great 20 years later. And last but not least, it must not be forgotten that it features some of the most charismatic characters ever seen in the Mario-verse.

This new expansion of World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s flagship, comes with tons of epic battles and an intensity that lives up to the expectations of the players. The new setting of the game is marvelous and will keep you in front of your screen for a huge amount of time.

Pillars of Eternity II is Obsidian’s new masterpiece. It is outstanding and it also features improvements that could mean a lot for the pure RPG for next years. An amazing universe with an exquisite gameplay make this game one of the best of this year so far.

Doom Eternal: DOOM is back to bring us another entry with wonderful and vertical combat with plenty of gore and heavy metal rhythm. The impressive shooter returns and DOOM Eternal adds more content, and more platforms that make us miss the simplicity of this franchise.
