Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of those experiences that redefine your concept of what an RPG can be. What Sandfall Interactive has achieved in their debut is simply astonishing: a narrative that captivates you from the first second with adult characters facing complex moral dilemmas; a revolutionary turn-based combat system that transforms each encounter into a strategic dance full of tension; and a visually stunning world that masterfully blends Belle Époque with dark fantasy. The conversations at the campfires have made me laugh, cry, and reflect on life itself. Its bosses have challenged me like few games manage to do. And its soundtrack continues to resonate in my head weeks after finishing the adventure. More than a game, it's an interactive work of art that will remain in my memory for years. Without exaggeration, one of the best debuts from a studio that I've seen in decades as both a player and critic.

God of War is an excellent game that has evolved with great quality in every aspect. The game feels more mature, profound and solid than we have ever seen in the saga. Its gameplay is still dynamic and its story will keep us in the edge of our seats from beginning to end. However, it lacks magic in some moments and has a few repetitive bosses, which does not allow this game to reach the perfect score.

Baldur's Gate 3 is what every D&D enthusiast has ever dreamt of. A huge world full of races, secrets and many different storylines that you can complete in a ton of different ways. It's the purest of fantasies turned into a video game. Also, the console version includes some unique features that enable an easygoing experience so that you can solely focuse on exploring and having an awesome time, whether you are a lonely adventurer or play online with some friends.

Kojima-san delivers an open world in which we have to represent a bridge between the narrative of the game and other players in order to keep moving forward as part of a world that needs us. The game introduces characters that keep on evolving until we reach an ending for the ages through a story told like very few would be able to. Death Stranding knows how to toy with our emotions, and it manages to arise anguish, tension, solitude, sorrow, joy and provides a conclusion that completely stuns us. The end is only the beginning.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is a massive leap forward when compared to the first entry of the Final Fantasy VII Remake. It is way more ambitious, with an open world that is as detailed as alive, and that is very gratifying to explore. Even if not all of the secondary activities are especially memorable, it is undeniable that Square Enix's endeavors to turn this into a more diversified and fresh experience can be felt right from the get-go.

Forza Horizon 4 is one of the most polished driving games ever made. The feeling, the amount of content, the spectacular open world and the unbelievable visuals are some pieces of this puzzle that match perfectly to form, all together, a true masterpiece that is perfect in almost every single aspect.

Hogwarts Legacy is the video game I've always dreamt of. I didn't even think something like this could be made out of the Harry Potter franchise. Avalanche has dared to create something completely new, yet at the same time, It has preserved the very essence of the source material. It is one of those entries that puts everything else in a difficult position, first because it is miles ahead of everything that has been done before and second because the video games after will have quite a tough time to match its quality. Hogwarts Legacy is the video game that Harry Potter fans deserve, and one for which I was not ready at all.

Alan Wake II is the big surprise of the year, a title that is fully in the running for GOTY 2023 and that elevates the Survival-Horror genre to another level. A level never seen before in which I can only heap praise. If you're afraid, this game is not for you, but if you're not, I recommend you sit back and enjoy it. Thank you, Remedy.

With Requiem, Capcom has crafted the best installment in the franchise in decades. It has refined every aspect to an outstanding level, earning a more than deserved nomination for Game of the Year.

Hi-Fi Rush came out of nowhere and made a name for itself in everyone's hearts, including myself. This is a rythm-action-platforming game that does almost everything well, which at the same time certainly makes up for its tiny issues. To sum up: this game by Tango Gameworks is a fresh and funny adventure that is packed with action, and that features several characters that are more than ready to take on the main stage.

Street Fighter 6 is proof that this is the best Capcom we've seen in the last decade. This game is a turning point for the franchise, obviously designed in order to bring in new players but, at the same time, it keeps the legacy that made veteran players fall in love with it back in the day. Street Fighter 6 is actually Capcom's atonement, and it shows that the developer cares about fan feedback; this may be a little step forward for Capcom, but it certainly is a defining moment for fighting games.

Cyberpunk 2077 gives the player the ultimate freedom to play. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is undoubtedly one of the best video games of 2019 and perhaps of the entire generation...Sekiro is the next step by FromSoftware, a game that brings about a ‘new land’ in-between Dark Souls and Bloodborne, and that is both original and accesible without giving away its natural essence. A new masterpiece by Miyazaki which is a must-have for any gamer.

Quantic Dream surpasses everything it has done before with Detroit: Become Human. A huge script allows for a thrilling story to have multiple layers that, at the same time, deal with topics such as slavery, the human condition or the concept of identity. A real masterpiece of the genre.

Even if it was kind of tough to connect with the story at times, I also believe the game boasts the best narrative that Monolith Soft has worked on yet. Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is an outstanding remaster of a piece of art. An excellent plot, role playing and a brilliant gameplay make this game one of the best options inside the genre.

Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood Connection is one of the most complete games of 2024 that you can enjoy on Nintendo Switch. Although it has an interesting variety of content beyond the story, the main thing that stands out is the quality of the content, offering entertainment in abundance. Those who love the RPG genre will feel how the game hooks them, inviting them to continue constantly to reach the highest possible levels. If you are looking for an entertaining story, with minigames, challenges, and charismatic characters, this is the perfect game that will fulfill everything I mention. Nintendo once again hits it off through a wonderful installment of the Mario franchise.

Dark Souls III is the perfect ending to the saga and offers a whole new experience and visual beauty that's greater than Bloodborne's, even with some technical issues. The multiplayer experience, especially the PvP competitive, is a true wonder. Hopefully Miyazaki and From Software will not leave this unique genre that we all love.

God of War: Ragnarök is, for many, one of the best games available on PS5 and now comes to PC in exquisite quality. It's an almost perfect port, except for some minor details that will surely be corrected with successive patches. If you haven't tried it and you have a half-decent PC, do it as soon as possible, you'll love it and you'll also enjoy the best version available.

It is a work with almost no flaws whatsoever, born more than 10 years ago and back better than ever thanks to the PS5.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the perfect conception of what a sequel should be, a frenetic title with third-person action that never lets up and with additions based on very fun and entertaining game modes that give the title great replayability.

There are many reasons to consider Octopath Traveler as one of the best games available for Nintendo Switch. An interesting story put together with several charismatic characters. Black Myth: Wukong is everything we hoped for and more a game that, by its own merits, is set to crown itself as one of the best of the year, without a doubt. The difficulty curve, in my opinion, is absolutely unbalanced, becoming increasingly harder as you progress through the chapters, with some utterly broken bosses that will drive you crazy. However, the feeling you get after overcoming them is something entirely different. Overall, this is an absolutely unmissable title if you're a fan of Souls-like games. Here, you’ll find hours of entertainment and a good hundred final bosses for your delight, enjoyment, and frustration the Yin and Yang perfectly represented in a video game.

Astro has been a well known representative of the PlayStation brand for quite a few years now. Nevertheless, Astro Bot is the confirmation of the little guy as the go-to platforming experience within PlayStation, even on par with legends such a Super Mario. Astro Bot is a wonderful video game that will keep you engaged from beginning to end, and with a grin from ear to ear.

Retro Studios and Nintendo took the task of improving the graphics of the GameCube jewel very seriously to the point of passing it off as a remake. Its excellent mechanics now add a technical section to match. We are facing one of the best Nintendo Switch games, neither more nor less.

Horizon Zero Dawn is as good as everybody expected. A powerful narrative and solid gameplay make this Guerrilla game one of the best titles that 2017 has to offer.
