Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle is a decent adventure game that I do recommend, even though the control system on the DS leaves a lot to be desired; there is room for improvement and I'm hopeful that the developer will take this on board for future releases.

Despite the laundry list of problems that plague Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command and pervade this review, the game can be fun at times. That is if you're willing to fight through the frustration of playing through missions multiple times, either to cheat to find enemy positions or because you got smoked by an enemy tank off-screen.

You are indeed going to need a Will of Steel to play this game, merely because it takes tremendous patience to put up with terrible AI.

The wonderful presentation and tried-and-true game play will easily appeal to long time fans of the series who have yet to grow tired of what Capcom has to offer them. Everyone else maybe have trouble pushing through what is obviously a series in transition.

When you are attempting to implement two gameplay styles then you'd better be careful that there are no distractions or irritations to the player, or the tentative grip a game has to build upon will be lost. Stranger is still just clutching out with a gauntleted hand.

Graphically it's not up to the standards we've seen that the PS2 is capable of.

For a lighthearted dose of online vehicular manslaughter, Frontlines: Fuel of War is a mildly derivative fun couple of hours' worth of gameplay, if you can get it running and if you can forgive the ridiculous server browser, weak weapons and uninspired maps.

Tower Bloxx looks and sounds the part with its bright, colourful backgrounds and cheap and cheerful music.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time isn't a lazy game, it's just that the template it's based upon is far too antiquated to meet the needs of today's gaming audience, yet not enough to satisfy dungeon hack enthusiasts.

Tedious and tiresome at times. With a poor AI controlling your team mates, unspectacular graphics and sound, awkward controls and nothing new to add to the genre as a whole, it simply has not impressed me.

It's not a terrible effort and there's some light fun to be had, but Axis & Allies is just an average strategy game, combining an unoriginal setting with the slightly interesting yet ultimately disappointing World Map mode, wrapped in dated graphics.

I'll give Trioncube mucho credit for its originality and quirkiness, but on a handheld with so many great puzzle games already available, the shallow gameplay and limited challenge are tough to accept with any overwhelming enthusiasm.

This is a cash-in with a couple of extras and very little touch-screen support.

I really wanted to love Secret Files but I walked away feeling disappointed. The moment I finished it, I cleared it off my hard drive, since there's practically no replay value and no part of the game that I enjoyed enough to replay.

Simply put it's an interesting concept and at first certainly an engaging experience but ultimately it just doesn't work.

An exceptionally well-produced game. The presentation is immaculate, and it looks and feels like Buzz! on the surface. The only problem is that this isn't a Buzz! game; without the buzzers, it feels tedious in multiplayer, which is the death for a multiplayer-based game.

Of course, the odd SpongeBob appearance and the odd wisecrack from Mr. Krabs makes up for the otherwise abysmal tasting Krabby Patty of a game, but unless you really have an itch for a Sponge game, this probably should be avoided.

It could have been a fantastic adventure game with the intriguing idea of using multiple characters simultaneously and its engaging story. However, the many flaws, including its glitch-riddled graphics, short length, and lack of direction, keep it from the adventure gaming hall of fame.

I have some difficulty calling it a role-playing game at all; there are no side missions available and there's no real sense of wonder to sweeten the generally bitter experience of playing through it. It's the online play that sets Fuzion Frenzy 2 apart from its peers, while the rest of the package simply does its job without ever excelling.

There are problems, but fans of the genre will be able to look past these imperfections and see that this is a far superior game to Agatha Christie. But even so, this is still an average game, especially when compared to the best of the Wii library.

The idea is nice but the execution is lacking - that's not a bad summary for Chop Till You Drop as a whole, an experience that could have been much better than it is. As it stands, Capcom's latest Wii port is the worst of the bunch, a substandard experience that just doesn't hold up to modern standards, let alone those of the series itself.

Yet another area where Field Commander falls short - other games grade your performance, so you can go back and improve your strategy, but here it is simply win or lose, no matter how well you plan and execute your campaign.

If you enjoy darts in real life then you're likely to have some fun with PDC 08, but if you don't then there are many, many more enjoyable and better looking games out there.

Even though, in its first few stages, Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? is both charming and fun, seemingly out of nowhere the difficulty soars.

I am left in a bit of a conundrum - here is a game where I barely passed the first boss battle and neither of my kids were able to defeat that first boss (my older son would have managed eventually it but after about twenty minutes he wanted to get back to Pokémon Ranger and didn't care if he ever saw Avatar again!)

With a mediocre physics system and a severe lack of alternative modes, you can't help but wonder whether SouthPeak's creation would have found a better home on the newly-created WiiWare service, where simplicity and value go hand in hand.

Mario Party 7 probably is the best game overall in the franchise to date; however, even with that being the case it simply doesn't do enough new to warrant a definitive purchase.

This is the first time that the MotoGP licence has been in the hands of Capcom as publishers and Milestone as developers. The result is a solid game that doesn't really improve on last year's offering. By setting its sights on accessibility, MotoGP 08 seems to lose its focus on who it's for and ends up providing something for everyone but not everything for anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I love building my weapons up from scratch, but I'd have sacrificed the depth of customisation for better, more open-ended gameplay.

Comparisons with one of the few other truly anti-hero games, "Destroy All Humans," are warranted - but sadly if you do that, you'll find Stubbs coming up short on pretty much every count.

The lasting appeal is great, the graphics aren't half bad, the sound is pretty good, yet the gameplay falls far below par to my golfing expectations.

It's true that this game is a gem in its genre - you won't find a better hotel management simulator without a great deal of searching - but I'm not saying this is a perfect game with no room for improvement.

When the concept of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast was pitched there would have been a decision made, go retro and incorporate as much of the older title with some new elements, or make a new and revolutionary racing simulator. The result was to sit in the middle and therefore the end result is essentially a mediocre title.

There really is a decent game in here somewhere - it's just such a shame that it is hidden beneath some awful glitches and some clearly unfinished gameplay mechanics.

An acceptable Wii golf game. It's better than the Wii Sports version and it does offer a few hours of decent gameplay. However, the lack of courses, limited character choice and annoying audio does little to elevate it beyond a novelty game, and while the swing system, once mastered, provides an interesting way to play, it is something of an obstacle to overcome initially, after which the multiplayer captures the friendly rival nature of the Wii perfectly.

It kept my sisters entertained for a while - they enjoyed how it looked and they appreciated the voiceovers, plus little spontaneous things, such as receiving text messages, but after a while I'd imagine they'd get bored.

There's something here for the arcade action gamers and the World War One enthusiasts alike, what with the authenticity and detailed planes combined with decent control options.

The longevity is abysmal and the content is woefully limited, while the controls and overall gameplay are fine for a weekend rental.

NBA Live 06 has a lot in common with your favourite supermodel, or at least the perceived stereotype - it looks absolutely stunning, but is lacking in depth.

How To Train Your Dragon does some things very well, and when you’re actually engaging in the battle sections of the game, it can be enjoyable. That said, this takes up a mere 40% of the experience, the rest being the titular ‘Training’ and upkeep of your dragon, along with all of the other menial tasks to get involved with.

If the story had a bit more humour, if the gameplay wasn't so jerky and the action so hard to control, if the graphics had a little extra polish on them and if the sound wasn't so bad, it may have been a great port.

The problem with Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is the simple fact that there's nothing at all out of the ordinary. Even reading back over what I've written, it's glaringly obvious that there is an overall lack of innovation, a lack of a fresh sense of style and a new feel of play.

The fact that there are two characters may warrant another play-through for some, but the lack of much difference between the two will probably not be worth it for most.

I can only recommend M.A.C.H.: Modified Air Combat Heroes to racing enthusiasts with a love of science fiction who have already played Wipeout Pure to death.

Whilst SBK-08 Superbike World Championship will definitely appeal to fans of superbike racing due to its advanced options and simulator aspects, but it will probably end up leaving the more casual gamers behind because they'll easily be able to beat the game on the lower difficulty levels and then not bother tuning their bikes or playing harder settings.

Arena Wars isn't a terrible game, it's just not a very inspired one. It's an uncomfortable and not very balanced strategy game that tries too hard to be something better than the games it's trying to emulate.

The camera for one makes clearing certain jumps next to impossible, while the heavy emphasis on combat makes for overly repetitive gameplay. The biggest disappointment though is the graphics, as this was set to be the best looking Spyro game ever but the technical flaws outweigh the positives, something that can be said for the game as a whole, as well as its visuals.

What galls me even more is that the poor gameplay, frustrating loading times, overly cartoony graphics and irritating sound may give monkeys a bad rep.

The core concept of Line Rider 2: Unbound is solid and, for the patient among you, can provide hours of absorbing fun; however, the trial and error nature of the gameplay and some dubious collision detection in certain situations are enough to spoil the enjoyment on a far too regular basis.

Ending as a reasonable attempt at a third-person action game, From Russia With Love manages to raise itself above many PSP games, despite its myriad flaws, and it's a title to stall the hunger for masterpieces until one arrives.

Battlezone is good for a quick dose of action, but those looking for a longer gaming experience may have to look elsewhere.

I feel bad for railing on Jackass: the Game this much, as from a purely gaming perspective, it is not only playable, but at times mildly amusing and wholly enjoyable.

Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy is enjoyable but flawed; it's too short, with little reason to play it again (beyond seeking a higher score), the game world isn't lively or well populated enough to be convincing and the puzzles are of mixed quality, making it a pretty standard point-and-click game.

Even though a lot of the features aren't put together properly and the sound and graphics are all outdated, it does manage to entertain you along the way - especially if you can play this through with someone else, particularly a child.

There is strategy here but it's too specific for its own good; certain moves must be countered in certain ways or you'll take damage. This is a shame, because Doodle Hex shows a lot of promise.

Pokémon Battle Revolution is worthless if you don't own the DS game; there simply isn't enough independent content to warrant a purchase, if you fall into this category.

I highly recommend trying out the demo to see if you can live with this flaw before making a decision; Cogs still deserves our respect for creating an unusual and very well thought out puzzle game, but sadly the restrictions of its chosen medium gets the better of the gameplay at times.

If you loved the original Game Boy/GBA Pokémon titles then you will no doubt feel a warm familiarity towards Dinosaur King DS but it doesn't bring anything new to the party - your son / daughter / niece / nephew will probably love it though, and they might just learn a thing or two as well.

Sadly, there is also much the game gets wrong; the bugs, the lack of variety in missions and environments, the flawed interlocked combat system - too much to simply look past and while fans may be more forgiving with these problems, others may find them too much to bear.

I know for a fact it would make a good pressie for my dad, but do you really want your folks hogging your Xbox?!

After two failed games it might be too much to ask for an excellent follow up, but a playable one would have been nice.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja is a very amusing game - the only problem is that the amusement doesn't last for a very long time at all.

And, if like the majority of the gaming community, you jumped on the Crazy Taxi bandwagon a few years back, then you've already seen pretty much everything the game has to offer.

Beneath the mangled exterior of clumsy control methods and weak characterisation there is a great idea here and had the game been given a few months longer in development it could have had these annoyances ironed out.

The story is average at best, the presentation is poor and the game is rife with glitches. Despite these problems though, the fact remains that it's still an extremely fun game, largely thanks to Edge of Reality's skill at successfully putting you in the shoes of the destructive whirlwind that is the Incredible Hulk.

Perhaps given more development time, Krome Studios could have turned out a fitting tribute to one of science fiction's most enduring franchises. Sadly, however, Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels isn't the game we were all hoping for.

While Haze may be dumb, it's also fun, and if you like your first person shooters - and especially if you can find it for under £30 - it's worth picking up Haze so that you can shake off the blurred vision for yourself and make up your own mind.
