I expected more from this metaphysical thriller. The Lovecraft induced premise with wild visions as well as the technical and supernatural setting shows promise. But the storytelling dynamics and lack of challenge leave a lot to be desired.

The action rpg obviously took its inspiration from the Zelda-series, while scoring with its own game world as well as the puzzle design.

This is a beautiful example that “experiencing” a game is more important than the sum of its mechanical parts. While challenge and basic mechanics are merely average, the exquisite animations and the stylish backdrops turn this interactive ballet into an effective projection screen for your own emotions.

After the glorious Lego Dimensions every “classic” Lego game is a step back. But within these boundaries Lego Marvel’s Avengers is still worth your time.

The missions are as varied as they are challenging, while the mountain panoramas are just beautiful. Nonetheless a lot of potential remains untapped.

It is not just the frustration that comes with the randomly filled and arranged levels and the difficulty spikes that can occur that harm this nonetheless entertaining roguelite shooter. It is rather the technical hiccups that you wouldn’t expect on current console systems.

Little Hope is an atmospheric, mysterious and brilliantly presented horror story, with you being in charge of the course of the story via decisions and reaction tests. The movie-like experience dominates at the expense of rudimentary mechanics, though.

Rather short, but captivating shoot-em-up with a clever color-coordinated scoring system.

The fourth (!) racing game from Milestone this year is undoubtedly their best. But that still isn’t enough to make it an enjoyable experience throughout.

In its best moments is like a bag of potato chips: You just can’t stop. There’s a level-up, there you have to collect stuff, you distribute new weapons and play matchmaker for a few couples. But it also has its share of bad moments, where everything is drawn out, where it lacks challenge.

Enhanced remaster of a roleplaying classic that is visibly aged technically as well as mechanically.

Colorful mix of turn based strategy and card organizing with a steep learning curve, a high challenge level and the typical rogue-like elements, that degrade the motivation over time.

Solid “no-frill” point & click adventure with rather predictable story and well integrated but very simple puzzles.

While the visuals of this postapocalyptic action are crisp and immersive, the AI as well as the unimaginative attack patterns make this a rather dull shooting gallery.

This is a timeless mecha-action classic that didn’t lose much of its appeal since the original release about 15 years ago. The VR implementation is far from ideal though.

This is more remake then sequel. But since the original was an exceptional JRPG Tales of Xilia 2 still offers solid entertainment value.

I love war games and historic strategy of all kinds. But regardless of the curiosity and high motivation during the first hours, in the long run I lost interest, mainly thanks the superficial game system which doesn’t offer any efficient tactics and focuses on unnecessary micro management.

While visually this is one of the best looking games out there for Sonys VR platform, mechanically this is a rather bland and uninspired shooting gallery for most of the time. Just using the well known assets is no guarantee for a dynamic shooting experience.

This is not as fascinating as the last bullet hell shmups like Sine Mora or Akai Katana, but nonetheless with the HD remake of one of the final games of the late Dreamcast you’ll get an intense, but rather short arcade shooter.

In terms of content and base mechanics this is just as good as on PC, but Neocore still has problems to translate their engine to console. And it shows in a lot of areas - especially on the standard systems.
