A fast paced Match Three game mixed with simple RPG elements proves successful for Dungeon Hearts, but expect the focus to be heavily on the Match Three rather than anything RPGish.

It's not the over-simplified "casual" 4X strategy game that will pull iOS users away from their bird flinging in droves, but it's definitely a great introduction to the genre. It's also an incredibly worthwhile purchase for on-the-go strategy lovers.

The one thing every runner lacks is a way to retaliate. Escape From Doom gives the player that armed advantage.

Highly recommended for fans of the original Duke Nukem games, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is a worthy port of a fast-paced, action-packed, side-scrolling platformer.

Out There is quite an interesting interstellar adventure, but the sheer level of randomness might turn off some players.

I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that the current version of the game does not seem to play well with the iPad.

If you like puzzle games and are sick of Match 3, Infection Zone is a great mental diversion. It's bright, happy, and most importantly, challenging.

I think the fact that the only gripe I have about Elenints is more than a little nit-picky should be indicative of just how much I enjoy it. It's simple enough to learn that virtually anyone can play it, but complex enough in other game modes and difficulties to tax even the most math-minded iOS gamer.

Turbo League brings a solid Rocket League-like experience to mobile. It's not the easiest thing to control, nor is it quite as bombastic as it seems it could be, but it's still an enjoyable multiplayer game.

Looked at on its own (which I'm not sure it deserves) it's an enjoyable enough romp with plenty of replay value. And it's free, and it doesn't really push purchases on me, so that's all to be appreciated. Still, it would be nice to see these values applied to new ideas on iOS a bit more, right? Ah who are we kidding.

It doesn't exactly have the smoothest start, but Gnomes is a pretty cool water physics puzzle game. Levels can be agonizingly complicated (in a good way) and the visuals evoke a little Daniel Merriam, which is very cool. Water wranglers, feel free to take a look.

Similar game mechanics have been used elsewhere but it works well within Subcat forming an enjoyable and challenging title. My only slight concern is the accuracy when tapping but other than that, it's a fun one to drop in on for short doses.

When all is said and done, there really isn't much to VidRhythm aside from the initial "Wow!" or "… wow…" factor. It's certainly a clever idea and is bound to be fun at gatherings, but it doesn't have a whole lot of staying power.

Dungeon Keeper’s iOS outing is most definitely not the PC classic we all remember, but as a regular old freemium game it’s actually quite enjoyable.
