Throw in the fact that it's only really a game worth playing once and, then, only for a short time, and Track the Ripper feels awfully expensive for being a neat concept.

Fun for five minutes, and with an important message, Arctic Defender 2013 could do with offering more reasons to go back for more.

As good as Bullet Force seems on paper and in screenshots, it doesn't add up to much if it doesn't feel good to play. I would say the saving grace here is that it's free-to-play model is wonderful, but even that is undercut by the existence of Critical Ops, a better-playing and fairer multiplayer first-person shooter that released a little earlier this year. If Bullet Force gets some customizable control options or controller support, it could be a pretty great game, but for now, it's just too hard to bother with.

Simply put, there aren't enough reasons to play 3Heroes for very long. There are plenty of games like it that offer a higher quality experience in many ways. Unless players have very specific reasons for getting into this game, 3Heroes is a hard sell.

The Turtles finally come to iOS in the form of a lacklustre Endless Runner that demands a lot of grinding or in-app purchases.

Zombie Anarchy does just about everything it can to make it hard to enjoy. While the base-building in it is decent, the sheer amount of timers, collectibles, and other gating mechanics makes it feel like it was designed to turn you into a zombie.

The bottom line is that you could replace Tony Stark/Iron Man with any other character/villain combination and this game would be the same.

Admittedly, there’s something extremely compelling about engaging with a list of objectives in a game to get rewards, but all too often these progression mechanics are used to obscure or distract players from deeper, core design problems. This is precisely what Original Journey does, and it just doesn’t work.

In the end, I don't know who this game is for. The coming-of-age plot and cheap character designs might appeal to a kid, but a fair number of the puzzles would be too challenging for someone under ten.

I wouldn't count Dark Shrines out for the count quite yet, but unless it receives some much needed updates, it will be forgotten in a world of millions of apps fighting for the top spot.

This free-to-play game is charming, colorful, and has an interesting free-to-play strategy, but it just doesn't feel particularly deep or special.

Safe Cracker, although theoretically based on a good idea, falls short on delivering the bank heist experience that most will be expecting. It's repetitive levels and looping soundtrack certainly don't help.

If you think you're rather handy when it comes to Angry Birds, especially if you're an Aussie, then maybe Mogo the Monkey will offer a brief but welcome change of scenery from ornithological warfare with the potential to earn you some winnings. Otherwise, even at just 99 cents, iPhone gamers could do a lot better.

Featuring a tedious storyline that is hard to invest yourself into, a deluge of the same enemies over and over again, plus a little visual tarnish to boot, Third Blade is a game that doesn't live up to its own high aspirations.

Neverending Nightmares sets up a great atmosphere, and then ruins it by featuring boogeymen you have to get past using poor controls. When you aren’t doing that, the game throws some jump scares at you, but a lot of the time is still spent shuffling around hallways randomly. This sucks a lot of tension around the game, and makes for something that’s more frustrating than it is scary.

The puzzles might not have any guidance, but are at least simple enough to figure out with a focus on jigsaws and matching up games. They won't really excite though. Throw in the weak and dated graphics, and the very short game length and Sinister City: Vampire Adventure isn't one of G5′s best titles. There's always a better Hidden Object game to play than this unless you're a true vampire obsessive.
