Blood Bowl fans, rejoice! Your favorite fantasy bloodsport is now portable, thanks to iPad. But a huge caveat emptor is in effect for the uninitiated.

This game has a lot going on and lots of it gives Space Tripper its unique flavor. However, the game's controls and its difficulty don't mesh well and make it very hard to enjoy all of its finer points. Combine that with what is fairly high price tag for an app of this type, players may want to think seriously before adding this to their collection.

The characters and menu-based design of Miss Fisher are really special aspects of an otherwise middling adventure game. Considering this, I'm not sure I would really recommend Miss Fisher unless its subsequent episodes present some more interesting plots and puzzles.

Ninja, Inc. is a little rough around the edges and possibly suffers from having a bit too much to do at one time, but it's surprisingly difficult to put down.

Pleasantly likeable, Braveland lacks some more detailed features but is still an enjoyable turn based RPG romp.

A curious contradiction. With overly fast gameplay laced with story sections that feel too slow by comparison, and simple controls fused with menus that are often incomprehensible, this is a game that sometimes suffers from its dedication to the extremes.

Despite a few shortcomings, Xenon Shooter is a refreshing base shooter game for both casual gamers and players who enjoy this genre.

The level design in the game is largely uninspired – there's very little challenge in the levels, and it's all largely flat, with few hazards.

Oh, My Cat! doesn't offer quite enough content to be as addictive as some of the more popular Endless Runners already out there, but it is cute enough to give some acknowledgement to. With a little more content, there could be something special within these spaceship walls.

VH1 Celebrity Party is a simple title with no fancy graphics other than images of the relevant celebrities. However, much like the game it's based on, with the right people, it's a blast. For the anti social gamer, though, it's probably best to give it a miss.

Simple yet nostalgic, Mythic Mountain could do with more structure, but it's still a quite pleasant snowboarding-themed endless runner.

Golden Axe 2 is showing its age a little now at nearly 20 years but it's still fun. If you've never played the title before then $3 might feel a little steep for only a few hours of fun, but if you've been here before, you'll just be so pleased that your memories weren't just rose tinted, they were the truth.

Both as a history lesson and as a fun adventure game, Head Over Heels succeeds. While its graphics may look dated, the strength of its gameplay more than makes up for this flaw. Either as part of the Elite Collection or separately, Heads Over Heels is keenly priced for the amount of content involved.

Players that enjoy physics puzzlers will find lots in this game to keep them happy. Otherwise, players may get tired of the levels that don't vary much and only get more and more complex and demanding.

247 Missiles is a homage to the classic Missile Command. It's fun, too, with a handy upgrade system to extend play.

In summary, the game is exactly what a backgammon app should be. It has a great look, detailed instructions, and is faithful to the original game. The number of match-making offerings is impressive and the controls are easy to use.

Zombie Quest's longevity relies mostly on just how much someone will want to play with friends on the same device, but it's also perfect for that very reason. It's not too terribly complex or involved, but it's great for short bursts of play alone or in groups.

Don't let the multiplayer options distract you from enjoying the game. While I wasn't completely satisfied with my options, I still had a lot of fun creating mathematical equations to outsmart my opponents.

BladeZ is campy fun. Which also translates to it not being the most polished experience, but for an amusing laugh with a high sense of difficulty and challenge, as schmups tend to promise, it delivers in droves.

Chroisen manages to offer some great replayability with multiple character classes and a "rebirth" mode after completing the main game. It is a shame that there are only 3 save slots and 4 characters, but that's a small oversight that could easily be fixed via update.

Dear Esther is a bit of a conundrum. Its extremely slow pace is key to making its tone work, but it can also irritate you to the point that it takes you out of the experience. It also creates an incredibly impressive and intricate set of contrivances to deliver its narrative, but said narrative turns out to be somewhat underwhelming. It’s clear that Dear Esther is a special game, and it deserves praise for going so far outside the lines of what games traditionally try to do. But in doing so, it also sets you up for a grand revelation that never really materializes.
