I’m getting to the point where I think the casual puzzle game genre is getting a little saturated. It seems a new game comes out every week that attempts to become the next Angry Birds. That being said, I don’t think that Be Together will dethrone the top games out there but I do think that it is a worthy addition to the genre. It has some lovable characters and visually-appealing artwork that makes for a friendly game environment for players of all ages.

One of those games that's certainly very interesting, but I don't necessarily think it is all that entertaining as a game. The weirdness will wear off at some point, and unlike Katamari Damacy, the core gameplay mechanics don't lead to anything that's fun to play down the line.

Bending light is super fun in Lyxo, but trying to bend the controls to your will is decidedly less so. This isn't such a huge deal so long as the current challenge you're facing doesn't have too many arbitrary gimmicks layered on top of it. This is to say that the early stages of Lyxo are compelling thanks to the freedom granted to you, but the further you get into the game, the more time you spend on fighting with it.

Despite its issues, I enjoyed my time with The Bunker. Its shortcomings are only noticeable because of how well made the rest of it is. The Bunker's tone and look make you want it to be more complicated from both a narrative and mechanical standpoint, but what it accomplishes on these fronts is at least as good as other games like it. As a result, it's a good adventure game, but one that also compels you to wish it were better.

The core premise of CATS is solid, but the walls that it puts up as part of its free-to-play design can be annoying. This is less true as long as the randomness of unlocks works in your favor, or if you pay, but both of these only offer temporary relief. As a result, it's difficult to get a ton of time or satisfaction out of CATS, despite the fact that it's otherwise a pretty good game.

As much as I like Brawlhalla, I find it tremendously unsatisfying to play using a touch screen. This limits its appeal significantly, as it's only worth playing if you are ok with routinely whipping out a controller to do so.
