While I think the concept is not as perfectly-executed as I think it could be, Blast Soccer is definitely an interesting take on its sub-genre: and hey, a game that's interesting but far from perfect is better than a game that's mechanically sound but uninteresting.

Run Sheldon! is an endless runner with a respectable amount of cartoony charm.

Taking a little while to get going, Gold Diggers is a fun if slow building Endless Digger.

The changes to the Kingdom formula here feel about as shallow as the schlocky 80s tropes this game is paying homage to.

There will be players who enjoy its simple, mostly-mindless fun, and good for them. But there's not a lot of depth here, and the game doesn't try very hard to find it.

PureSkate 2 lets one's fingers do the skateboarding.

Frank Further isn't quite as tasty as a distance launching game can be, but it does take the brutality of hot dog production to new heights.

With Five Minutes Before, it's all a matter of whether or not you want to stick around long enough to try surviving.

PAKO 2's style carries it a long way, particularly when you first start playing it. As you get further into the experience though, the more you feel like there should be some amount of additional depth. The stuff that is in PAKO 2 currently is good and–more importantly–very cool. It would just be a more satisfying game if there were more to it.

This is definitely the game for hard-core and devoted Wheel of Fortune fans. It has a lot of extra features that will probably be more than the average person would want, like themes for different eras of the show. However, the pass and play option is a really nice touch and Wheel of Fortune is the perfect game for playing with friends on a single device.

Worm Run is fun, but it sadly is not perfect. Still, for those looking for something that’s a bit different, this is worth checking out.

As great as Real Basketball plays, one can only perform free throws so many times before they start to get a bit dull.

This unique puzzle game has a great premise and concept, but there are a few too many things holding it back.

Finger Physics: Thumb Wars does a good job at differentiating itself and adding the novel country competition mechanic, but the monotonous gameplay and frustrating menu layouts drag the game down.

While it's a bit of a jack of all trade and master of none, it's still well worth a look. The potential is great and hopefully Square Enix will soon be adding to the collection with new instalments. Oh and Final Fantasy fans will love the ending.

Current is certainly a great looking game, and the fast-paced gameplay is easy to pick up and enjoy, but the difficulty will best suit those looking for a challenge.

The hidden object side of things works as you would expect and the mini games are all just as enjoyable as on the PC, comprising of Match three, word searches, jigsaws, a version of pairs and puzzle rotation. It's not a hard game by any means but it is one that will take a fair while to complete, and some of the object clues might make you scratch your head for a while.

If you played and liked Darkest Dungeon on PC, picking up the tablet edition is a no-brainer. For five bucks, you can take your dungeon-crawling on-the-go, and even continue adventures you've started on the PC by exporting your save file via Dropbox. That said, Darkest Dungeon certainly isn't for everyone. It feels like a game that wants to beat you down by throwing its systems at you. This can be fun to a point, but it also makes the game feel pretty oppressive and downright random. Considering the game is about fighting off eldritch horrors, this makes a certain amount of sense, but it also makes for a less fun game experience.

The problem with Platoonz is that moving soldiers forward, dodging enemy traps and bombs, and then taping on enemies one by one as they are encountered can get tedious.

Blitzcrank’s Poro Roundup is a simple game of snatching furry things.

Champs: Battlegrounds offers an interesting take on the MOBA genre, but its mismatched mechanics only serve to get in the way.

Those that have previously played Backflip's previous game, DragonVale, will find a great majority of the mechanics are a fair duplicate of what is found in Gizmonauts. While the slight variations certainly add to the experience, it is not enough of a change to shake the feeling of déjà vu onset by every play session.

This multiplayer golf game is an uneven mix of high highs and low lows.

Bounce missiles back at the enemy through some well timed line drawing in this fun if sometimes samey arcade style game.

Great graphics, strong platforming mechanics and a mostly flawed (though sometimes smooth) combat system make Shadow Guardian a tough game to rate.

Unfortunately, the sub-par visuals and uncooperative controls all work against the game, and all it takes is a little bit of frustration to send players scampering for another title. Still, if you can look past those faults you'll likely have some good fun with this one.

Golf Kingdoms is amusing for a while; I love to see some experimentation in 2D golf games, though there could be some more variety and quantity in the courses, and having some easier ones to start off with could make the game easier to get into. Let's see what if anything comes next.

All in all, $0.99 is a minimal risk to give this game a whirl, and fans of the slingshot, bow and arrow, catapult style games will find some interesting complexity and enjoyable features with this game. Those who have found themselves exhausted with this style may find respite somewhere else.

There's a ton of potential in SpySpy. The more forgiving early stages are proof of this. However, until the controls get a tweaking (at least let us get off of ladders without having to climb all the way to the bottom) I can't really call it a "must play." Maybe more like "must watch."

Some control issues hamper the satisfaction behind Potatoman Seeks The Troof, but it's still pretty fun.

It's a little shallow but as a passing attraction, Patrick Kane's Winter Games is a fun arcade-style hockey game.

SteamBirds, from the makers of Canabalt, is fun for a time, but doesn't do enough to earn a spot with the App Store elite.

While Alien Breed may have been ahead of its time 20 years ago, these days, I think players are going to be looking for just a little more.

Concealing a deeper meaning, Pretentious Game is an enjoyable platformer with a touching message.

Albert's Adventure: Energy is an interesting physics-based puzzle game, though control issues keep it from true genius.

Last Man Standing is a middling game running on a great engine. Anyone who wants a cheap way to showcase the graphical prowess of their iOS device might want to pick it up. Just know that the game itself is never more than just average.

Bazzle is one of the better physics-based puzzle games I've played on iOS. And for $0.99, it's a steal.

Business ethics are the least of your worries in Happy Wheels - a physics based obstacle course game.

A fun spatial puzzle game with a lot of levels to play. It's a solid casual game and is perfect for killing a few minutes.

Gunner Galaxies is a great little title simply put. Simple to get into yet very satisfying to play.

I see vast amounts of potential in Roblade, especially once creative members of the iOS community start playing around with the creation tools, but unless the core building interface gets a fairly major overhaul it's bound to remain inaccessible to less diehard enthusiasts.

Thieves’ Gambit: Curse of the Black Cat offers some intriguing storytelling, even if it does lack the finer features we expect from an iOS adventure.

.io games are a bit played out, but Axe.io has just enough variety to stand out.

My only real complaint is that, well, I got tired of doing the same thing over and over again. It's an extremely repetitive game.

Swipe the Deck is a simple idea and one that isn't quite as "Must Play" as one would hope. What is there, though, is an enjoyable distraction for a while.

A casual take on the RPG, QuestRun is fun but has a few niggling problems.

NewtonApples is a simple little game but entertaining. Throwing in a small section about the laws of motion is a great touch and adds to the experience.

The only thing wrong with Silverfish DX is that there’s already better and more varied versions of the same game out there. Specifically, Geometry Wars—a game that precedes Silverfish by nearly a decade—provides a similar experience in a more robust package. Silverfish DX just strips too many things out of a traditional twin-stick shooter and doesn’t add enough new stuff back to it to make itself stand out.

Bad Rabbit is a fun little title. It's simple to learn but addictive too. Action is fast paced but it makes sure to build up gradually so that players never feel overwhelmed.

Speedway Racers is a perfectly competent racing game. There are better ones out there but there are certainly worse ones too. Consider this a safe bet.

An extremely well made game that is lacking the required depth to make it a must have game.

It's fun enough for what it is, it just feels like it could have been more.

The popular Facebook card game comes to iOS and it's a fun if restrictive ride.

Monster House will definitely appeal to those who love both spooky and tycoon games – but I don't see this game winning people who aren't already infatuated with those genres over because of the lacking visuals and dull pace.

Ride 'Em Rigby is a game that doesn't break any new ground, but it is good enough to satisfy the Regular Show fanbase that will check out the game because of the license. It's solid yet inoffensive and that's perfectly fine.

Word Off has its issues, but the technological achievement is fairly impressive. It's definitely worth checking out for at least that aspect alone, as they absolutely nailed it.

The gameplay is fast-paced and challenging but well balanced by power ups and upgrades that allow the player to reach new levels.

It's a lot like Clash of Clans, but the use of the Star Wars license means you don't mind so much here.

Chasing high scores with just one finger works well for Mmm Fingers.

Cracking Sands is a comprehensive top-down racer. Although it plays like many other racing games, the numerous game mode, races, and customization features make it one of the better racing apps available.

G.O.A.T. is pretty good, but it's not the greatest puzzle game of all time.

Shuffle Cats is a really good multiplayer rummy game that shows promise of getting better over time. It appears as though updates will come to the game providing more single-player content, and the connection issues should only get better from here. It may not be the deepest multiplayer card game out there, but it's dang fun and looks really nice.

The Maze Runner is a surprisingly enjoyable movie tie-in that will succeed in keeping players guessing.

The game is just plain satisfying to play and the ever-present draw of earning better gear is a great motivator. I'm not too keen on the way the increasing difficulty can back players into a corner if they're saving for a particular gun (and completed stages can't be replayed), and money takes a long time to earn, but that's just how it is. I mean it's a game about shooting zombies. What else does anyone need to know, really?

It's a quite simple game, but Soccer Girl Adventure comes with a very important anti-discrimination message.

It turns out that dividing up trash can be quite fun in a chaotic kind of way.

It's unfortunate that there only seems to be one mode to play through, but it's a forgiveable flaw at this low price point. It may not reinvent an already saturated gaming genre, but Bust A Marble is a fun distraction.

Soccer Rally Euro 2012 won't quite have the longevity of even Ice Rage, which was not a deep arcade game, but at least had high scores to go along with its tournament modes. This game is more about simple amusement, which is fine, and it is a $0.99 universal app with some detail put into the graphics, so it's not a waste of money.

Not quite as strong as the original installment, Blackwell 3: Convergence is never less than thoroughly likable and entertaining.

Tough and unforgiving, Hyper Trip is a bit like Snake - if Snake was really harsh.
