    Painful to listen. It's completely a messy production with forgettable clinched lyrics and horrible lifeless sound. There are full of fake emotions but no originality or creativeness at all. This is unforgiven considering 4 years of waiting. What a shocking disaster! The biggest disappointment of the year!

    Maybe the album won´t have so many hits, but Perry is showing a new sonority and a conscious pop. I really loved this album, it´s a funny a serious album at the same time and sure is the best album of this year

    She took a risk, and you can not take it back from her.

    Lyrically it is far from her best work in my opinion. Some metaphore are as if she tried too hard. "Figure out the Rubik's Cube" "You suck my hope up in a vacuum" "You're 'bout as cute as An old coupon expired" for exemple. The production of the songs, taken individually, are excuisite.     The production of the songs, taken individually, are excuisite. I'd give 10/10 for the album if it was all about the productions. Swish Swish has one of the best production i've ever heard. She set a mood and a tone, wich fit perfectly with her visual. Good job for that.

    Finally an other negative point, was the album's songs order. It didn't made it for me. It's very good from the beggining to the mid adlbum. After miss you more, its too much ups and down in an uncontroled way. CTTR (up), Tsunami (down), Bon Appetit (up), Bigger Than me, Save As Draft (down), Pendulum (up), Into me you see (down).
    I love the idea of a slow and calm song at the end of an album, it's a technique that always worked (its very much effective in Taylor Swift's Reputation), but when it follows that kind of emotional roller coaster, I think it's pretty uneffective.

    This is awfull : how Katy has been missing everything from the beggining, when she release "Chained to the Rhythm". Lead-single lifted my expectations up to the skies, but after she has droped "Bon appetit" and "Swish swish", I understood that album would be not so good.     Her songs are like stories, and each one tells a unique experience from one another. Each song sounds totally unique, yet it all blends well together. Her songs with seemingly less lyrical effort are redeemed by the amazing production each song has. It's overall different than any of her previous albums, but will definitely be another highlight of her career.

    I love it, I feel that Katy has improved a lot in her music and as a person, besides the first time I liked all the songs of an artist album, the album is heard fresh, varied and with a lot of potential.

    You have to listen Witness twice if you want to really appreciate some songs. Despite being a experimental production-songwriting mess, the record ends up bringing to us a few decent songs, that (obviously) you can't dance to but they still are enjoyable.

    Witness shows a new Katy. She grew up and this album reflect that. It have memorable songs, like Pendulum, Roulette, Witness and Mind Maze but have unmemorable too, like Hey Hey Hey. It´s beautiful see her journey to find a witness (and at the end find it, but in herself). The vocals are envolving, unique and its notable the vocal evolution of Perry. It's not a Prism or a Teenage Dream butWitness shows a new Katy. She grew up and this album reflect that.     Album is really pretty good. it has certain idea and sound of an album, and it sounds really-really great. if listened only to CTTR or BO i will NOT get the taste of this album. As for me, the greatest song on this album is "Miss You More" — powerful ballad-confession and one of the most beautiful songs by Katy EVER. Witness should be the bestseller of the year.

    This album needs more than a listen, it has deep messages, great letters and sounds different from those already seen.
    It seems flat and no sense, but is more, such a great album.
    The best are Witness, Power, Miss You More, Tsunami, Chained To The Rhythm and Pendulum.
    Give it one chance, it worth it,

    Spectacular album. A perfect comeback, but as always has some issues.
    Some of the songs sound the same, the worst are "Bon Appétit" and "Swish Swish", the others songs are great. Witness and Prism are my favorite albums of Katy, she always doing a wonderful job.

    Flat, incoherent, messy, aimless. What is the message here? There is nothing uniquely "Katy Perry" about any of this. I understand growing and changing as an artist with age, but this just sounds like much of the pointless garbage on the radio. This does nothing to seperate her from her peers. And sonically? It's just incredibly annoying.

Witness is a rich album that contains such an inspiring songs like Mind Maze, Bigger Than Me and Chained To The Rhythm. She explored different sonorities for the first time and I got astonished with the results I heard! Pendulum for example makes you fell as if you were watching a typical American choir concert from the movies, Tsunami really takes you to the beach with those wave sounds in the background and Power got me completely blown away with its magnificent quality of production! The chorus are still very catchy and stick in your mind like all Katy Perry’s hits does, most of the lyrics are as deep as previously seen on PRISM! My top five songs are: 1- Power 2-Bon Appetit 3-Hey Hey Hey 4-Miss You More 5-Deja Vu
    I'm very proud of her evolution musically and hope she would always maintain this quality. With Witness Katy showed us how capable she is of making something extraordinary beyond every body's expectations, we've got powerful hits, deep ballads and great messages being spread d thought this album. It's impossible to unlike her art references and creativity on the songs! It is definitely the best album that's been out this year! Katy Perry has her own artistic identity, she's always original on her lyrics and brought something new to the pop music that might be never forgotten!     Katy Perry made an entirely clever album, unlike Lorde. The songs themselves combine, bring subtleties, have an important meaning in the moment of our politics, not only ours as the one of all the countries. Katy was right on this album as in everyone she's ever done. Congratulations!

    It's a really nice album . It has inspiring lyrics and good rhythm, but it might seem repetitive. Katy has improved vocally. Such a great comeback. "Power" "Pendulum" "Swish Swish" and "Witness" are my favorites. However, I expected a little more, PRISM is still her best album.

    All in all a basic album, ridiculous, and with too much stuffing. It does not make sense an album like this since it has bad rhythms, lyrics and little originality. This shows that katy was just a passing fad.

    After the release of the album there were a lot of mixed and negative reviews, many didn't understand Perry. But I really like the album. There are a lot of personal thoughts and feelings, although this album doesn't have a "personal" character. There are more dance songs than Katy does. But they are a bit of a different genre, for the experiment a separate thanks.
    I put the album 95 out of 100 on a hundred-point system. And so 10 stars for finding new sources in music! The album is gorgeous, you just need to understand and feel all the songs.    … Expand

    Un álbum en el que más que innovar, ha intentado copiar clichés básicos del mundo del pop. Un homenaje a Miley Cyrus, rebajado con la participación de Nicki Minaj y momentos rap fuera de lugar.

    Bon Appetit y Swish Swish son las únicas que se salvan de una era totalmente nefasta, por un intento de reinventarse innecesario.

    Katy is a Goddess and we all know it! This album is a revolution. She have definelly found her voice and she is using it to share love and kindness all over the world. Witness is her masterpiece and we must recognize it.

    The album is perfect and mature, Katy brought a conscious pop, thus showing how much she grew up in the last years as an artist, her audience expected the same as always but when she saw that it was different, they all came from ignorance. Congratulations Katy for this album, you do not deserve all this free hate.

    I am a KatyCat but i have to say that i'm a little disappointed about this album. I mean, it is definetly decent-good, but its very rushed, untidy, unfocused. Yes, there are some great songs like Witness, Roulette, Bon Appetit, Chained To The Rythm, Tsunami, Mind Maze and Pendelum, but....stop. The others just sound like useless fillers with heavy electronic beats that are all equals.I am a KatyCat but i have to say that i'm a little disappointed about this album.     Gosto bastante da katy, e como um todo gostei do witness tambem. Um álbum coeso porém com músicas um tanto quanto esqueçíveis com exceção dos singles e de Roulette.

    Katy's second best album so far, the first one should always be Prism. In my opinion this album is worth for 4 years waiting, i really love the cases she showed in her lyrics and her voice. Best tracks should be Witness, Deja Vu and Chained to the rhythm. The reason of the two point deducted should be Mind Maze and Power these two tracks

    The lyrics are much better. Some songs are deeper than anything of hers, but what's actually great is the production. The highlights: Witness, Déjà Vu, Tsunami and Pendulum. Her best record so far!

    An amazing album, her best so far! Miss Hudson did a great job making this masterpiece, it's really cool to see how Katy became a pop star (one of the most relevant by the way) and Witnnes mark her career with quality perfection.

    Easily Katy's worst album to date and highly disappointing after Prism was so good. Bizzare songs and collaborations, stupid lyrics, I really feel like she started to grow as an artist with Prism and then took a huge step down with Witness.

Katy se arriesgó mucho con este nuevo álbum, Witness es un trabajo completamente diferente a sus tres trabajosUno de sus mejores trabajos musicales de todas su carrera, Katy supo renovarse en esta nueva era llamada "Witness". Witness cumple con todo lo que YO espero en un disco pop/electro. Canciones pop bien logradas, baladas hermosas, bailables increíbles, todo eso y mucho más. Katy se arriesgó mucho con este nuevo álbum, Witness es un trabajo completamente diferente a sus tres trabajos anteriores, es un gran paso hacia una nueva Katy.

    La producción bajo este álbum es absolutamente increíble, sus sonidos electrónicos y su Deep house de los 80 fueron un gran punto en la producción de este material, donde más podemos apreciar el trabajo de producción es en las canciones:

    - Mind Maze
    - Roulette
    - Power
    - Bigger That Me

    En sus líricas podemos ver a una Katy Perry sincera e inspiracional, ya que aunque toca su lado más profundo no es excusa para sentirse mal, Katy sabe manejar las emociones de su trabajo con una gran puntualidad.

    Quiero dar una observación a "Chained To The Rhythm" (lead single de la era Witness), me levanto a aplaudirle a Katy Perry por la valentía y las garras de lanzar un tema político en medio de una era muy tensa en Estados Unidos. Katy ama a sus fans, me doy cuenta en "CTTR", dando a dar la mirada que tiene ella del mundo, y quererla expresar con sus fans. Muy bien Katy!

    Katy Perry, reina de las canciones sin sentido, y con poca capacidad para profundizar, éste álbum tiene la pinta de estar buscando dentro de ella misma al verdadero talento el cual nunca ha demostrado por si sola, siento decir que en busca de esa formula, recibió el fracaso con los brazos abiertos, el cual considero que es bueno, esto quizá ayude a formar verdaderas buenas canciones, enKaty Perry, reina de las canciones sin sentido, y con poca capacidad para profundizar, éste álbum tiene la pinta de estar buscando dentro de ella misma al verdadero talento el cual nunca ha demostrado por si sola, siento decir que en busca de esa formula, recibió el fracaso con los brazos abiertos, el cual considero que es bueno, esto quizá ayude a formar verdaderas buenas canciones, en este disco no hay consistencia, y difícilmente puedo decir que es coherente, más sin embargo la artista trata de dar desesperadamente un mensaje fuerte, que no llega a concebirse por los sonidos desarrollados en el álbum, veo progreso, pero poca capacidad, nada innovador.… Expand

    Katy has always been more of a singles artist than an albums artist. Her albums have always been carried by the singles. The singles on here are nowhere near as good as on her previous albums, and for the some reason this album is far longer. The result is that this is quite dull and lifeless.

    In my opinion it is a very good album. It's the first time that Katy leaves her sweet pop rhythm and makes more electronic music, darker. It has very good tracks with the exception of "Hey Hey Hey" and "Pendulum".

    It’s a real shame Witness has come out as a bit of a disjointed mess, as there’s a decent record somewhere in there, but it gets lost in the fog of endless guest productions and co-writes that miss the point entirely.
