    It's quite a good album, although the songs are pretty similar to each other and repetitive. I don't hate any of the songs, but I'm not in love with many of them.

    The sounds and lyrics on this album are brave, it forgets the generic sound on these days and bring freshness and power, also, an artist who renews herself in this admirable way is a fact of growth. WITNESS IS INCREDIBLE WELL-PRODUCED.

    The album we take there is a surface we look for, however, it does not keep us in it. Katy has all the tools to do a great job but does not seem to use them.

    PENDULUM is also very good. there are some bummers but on a whole better than prism!

    Wonderful album, unlike anything Katy ever did, she has evolved a lot, I really like the songs witness, tsunami, hey hey hey. Katy is now making a comment and what she likes, all the clips are a social message and this is a major evolution of the development

    If you listen to this album you won't hear the candy-sexy girl from her previous works, you'll witness the statements from a grown up woman who is secure and confident about what she is doing. This album is an evolution for Katy Perry and it's bringing pop back. It's worth a listen.

    the best pop album realeased in a long time... whoever said its not good is lying. i mean, every song is unique and still so cohesive, its her best. i dont see why someone would HATE it, if you hate it you hate pop music AT ALL and if you hate pop music at all what are you and your partial opinion are doing here??

    It is amazing, it forms part of her life and her career as an artist, is not better than the other albums, neither worse, ALL OF THEM are amazing, they are part of her, and all of them show her perspective and how it is changing through time once again THIS ALBUM IS AMAZING as the past ones. SHE have done a great, amazing job.

    Katy Perry surprised me by the maturity of this record, showed a different side from her, I believe it is an evolution of her as an artist. I liked to see feminism resent in "Hey Hey Hey" and more aggressively in "Power." For now, my favorite album of 2017.

    Katy Perry really topped her previous work with this album. This album showcase Katy's maturity. She stopped trying to make radio hits, and really focused on productions and meaning in her songs. I personally think that this album is her best to date.

    We realize that she's using a new image, it looks like she's at that time of transformation from California girls to wide awake.

    Her best album to date. Standout tracks: Witness, Hey Hey Hey, Roulette, Swish Swish, Bigger Than Me, Miss You More. Even the "Worse" tracks on the album are still very goos. Excellent album.

    "Witness" is an amazing album. We see the real Katheryn: a strong, conscious woman. The production and her vocals are awesome, while the lyrics have beautiful meanings (something difficult to find today). Guess her first Grammy is finally coming.

    Her best work. I don't know why the critics didn't liked this. Some songs are such masterpieces, the production are very well and her voice is flawless. The only thing that didn't please me was some lyrics and controversial writing. Like, we have many references to other songs by Katy; Power sounds like Who Am I Living For, by the way. It's an great album, loved it.

    New sound, new rhythms, new lyrics, and new woman. I think this is one of the best albums of the year. It's different to her past albums but it keeps a bit of that 2013-2014 Katy Perry. Intelligent and personal. Thank you for letting me witness to you, Katheryn.

    An album quite different from what Katy was accustomed to, but not so bad. Chained To The Rythm, Swish Swish, Roulette, Tsunami, Bon Appetit are the best songs. Mind Maze is the worst. 8/10

Although I feel like 2 or 3 tracks felt like filler, it is still on par with the other pop girls in the music industry. It felt very personal and Katy showed her vulnerability in some of her tracks here and IWitness album by Katy Perry is a great disappointment for me. Not because it failed to deliver but because of her team's decisions. I liked the album and some of the tracks, I loved. Although I feel like 2 or 3 tracks felt like filler, it is still on par with the other pop girls in the music industry. It felt very personal and Katy showed her vulnerability in some of her tracks here and I just loved it as much as I loved the peculiar flavor delivered by her especially my favorite in the album, the track "Power". Her team picked the wrong singles. That's entirely it. This album is better aside from Swish Swish and Bon Appetit.… Expand

    Amazing album! All these reviews are utter garbage. When you listen to the production and lyrics, they smoothly melt into your ears to create a concoction of emotions and feeling. Truly an album worth buying and listening to. Some interesting sounds that Katy has experimented with. Hopefully she will bring back some of these elements in her upcoming 2019 album. 10/10! Deserves a higher rating.

Collaboration with Migos could sound very good but if it was solo by Katy... The lead single gave me some hopes but when album dropped i was shocked.

    Listening to Witness in 2021, you realize it was a record ahead of its time and a damn good electronic record - icy, dark, experimental, and fantastically-produced. Teenage Dream may forever be Katy's landmark album, but Witness will stand as her most interesting musical offering since her 2001 Christian debut (which it serves as an effective companion piece to, given the same underlyingListening to Witness in 2021, you realize it was a record ahead of its time and a damn good electronic record - icy, dark, experimental, and fantastically-produced. Teenage Dream may forever be Katy's landmark album, but Witness will stand as her most interesting musical offering since her 2001 Christian debut (which it serves as an effective companion piece to, given the same underlying philosophical questions and anxieties it touches on). The critics saying that Katy Perry’s “Never Really Over” (which I do agree is her best song in years) is a drastic step away from Witness didn’t listen to Witness in its entirety. I know this is a largely unpopular opinion, however I believe Witness will age very well in the years to come. It found Katy delving into her most interesting and artistically-adventurous work to date — the vocals were stronger, the beats were deeper, the sounds were more mature and sophisticated (“Tsunami” and “Pendulum” standout examples). Instead of playing it safe, Witness was a dark-electro concept album that addressed some heavy societal concepts head-on: Perry’s disillusionment not only with the Trump era (the brilliant “Chained to the Rhythm”) but also with the coldness of modern life (“Witness”) her own celebrity and isolation (“Miss You More”), and her conservative Christian upbringing (the song “Power” is one of her best tracks ever delivered). “Never Really Over” takes the best of Witness — Perry’s personal growth and enlightenment, more confident vocals, and a maturer pop sound — but strangely has been seen as Witness’ antithesis (if you listen to the masterpiece that is “Pendulum” with “Never Really Over” you realize they exist on the same wavelength).     Sorpresivamente este es el album que más me ha gustado de parte de Perry. Creo que aquí se las ingenia con sonidos más "catchy" sin caer en lo que fue prism.

    This album takes to itself influences of the current electronic music. The album sounds good, with real personality. Somehow, she managed to bring surprises. Interesting matters, but I didn't like the album cover. Favorite tracks: Chained To The Rhythm, Swish    I was hoping I would be disappointed, but I wasn't.

Instead of the hits that she used to create she decided to do more ballads and they fell flat. Chained To The Rhythm was ok but was it mind blowing?     So, Witness is a good pop album, but it has a lot of flaws. The singles shouldn't be there, some songs are clearly fillers, and I think it's too long. But it's the more mature Katy Perry's album so far.

    A decent pop album. There are some songs that don't quite catch on but the rest is not bad at all. I personally think it's a massive improvement over her previous album, as Prism's 2nd half was very skippable for me. While I think this album is good, it still doesn't fully warrant waiting 4 years for it.

    Easily her worst album. The production is overall disappointing, there's a HUGE difference between songs chosen as singles and the ones that are simply album tracks, and not even the singles are extraordinary. Bland, repetitive, uninspired, tasteless and useless, this album goes down as one of the worst albums released in 2017.

Katy Perry has had a history of inconsistent albums with scant bordering-on-impressive standouts that are intimidated and overshadowed by the most trite lyricism and tired melodies in the rest of her songs.

    Músicas como “Power” “Hey Hey Hey” e “Roulette” são músicas que as letras se demonstram tolas e desconexas. Outro fator interessante é que apesar de mudar sua sonoridade e convidar novos produtores para executarem o projeto, ela não soube guiá-los com maestria, gerando faixas algumas vezes densamente produzidas como as citadas anteriormente e outras totalmente entediantes como “Mind Maze”, “Tsunami” e “Miss You More”.
    Katy Perry falha até em sua maior especialidade que é criar faixas com refrões cativantes e catchy mirando o top 40 da rádios americanas, deixando faixas como “Bon Appétit”, outro exemplo de porcaria lírica; e “Swish Swish”, sua mais recente diss track para arqui-inimiga Taylor Swift que não possui uma letra nenhum pouco inteligível, no vácuo e demonstrando que o álbum não segue exatamente nada da proposta que a Ex-Hitmaker havia prometido: “Uma era consciente e com propósito” que a mesma apenas belisca a superfície com a letra aleatória de seu lead single “Chained To The Rhythm”.
    Há essa altura do campeonato, no jogo da Indústria Musical, Katy Perry já deveria ter entregado algo que nos fizéssemos lembrar dela no futuro, mas pelo contrário regrediu e entregou uma bagunça sonora e lírica que faz nós implorarmos pelo retorno de Taylor Swift para quebrar a barreira de homens no mainstream.

    WITNESS is Katy Perry's most mature and elaborated album. The lyrics are strong and empowered. Songs like "Swish Swish" and "Power" shows us that she has the control on her own life. Great productions by DJ Mustard and Max Martin will make this album iconic and unforgettable. Not the most successful album of Katy, but there's no doubt that this is the best one so far.

Full of electronic bops, Katy Perry gave us her most deep and honest piece of work to date. Of course, songs like Swish Swish (a bop) could be childish, but we can't ignore songs like Chained to the Rythm, Hey Hey Hey and Witness, that have powerful choirs andI will never understand why this album is on the bottom of Katy's discography, because I believe this is her most cohesive album. The first and third singles, Swish Swish and Chained to the Rhythm, both firmly embrace Katy's new era. Power, Deja Vu and Miss You More are standout tracks (and potential singles). While the album moves along prettyWitness is far from KP's best work, but there's something about her new persona that is oddly charismatic. This album is mostly filler, but there are several standout tracks. The first and third singles, Swish Swish and Chained to the Rhythm, both firmly embrace Katy's new era. Power, Deja Vu and Miss You More are standout tracks (and potential singles). While the album moves along pretty quickly, the album peaks and plummets from track 9, "Chained to the Rhythm." The latter half of the album is much cloudier and, frankly more boring, than the former half. The Mike WiLL Made-It-produced Tsunami is, sadly, a forgettable ballad. The album closer, "Into Me You See" recalls Teenage Dream-era Katy, in a bad way, and includes a horrendous play on words ("intimacy"). The Target Deluxe version offers two wonderful tracks that easily could have replaced the title track and other filler. If KP wanted to keep the theme of "purposeful pop", perhaps it would have been wise to include 2016's Rise.… Expand

    Any album with a killer track like "Deja Vu" deseves praise. That said, Katy has left her charm in the past and this album feels disjointed and emotionless as a result. The gems are overflowing though so one can't complain too much.

    It’s a real shame Witness has come out as a bit of a disjointed mess, as there’s a decent record somewhere in there, but it gets lost in the fog of endless guest productions and co-writes that miss the point entirely.
