    Katy releases her most Kathryn album yet. She continues to give you what Katy Perry is at her core but at the same time doesn’t shy away from her true authentic self. From going through peaks and valleys in resilient, to dancing through those tears in teary eyes, Katy is releasing the perfect music at the perfect time.     This album is one of Katy’s best albums. I definitely would give the whole album a listen a 1000 more times. It is pop perfection, with incredible sounds and fantastic lyrics. It will bring back your Smile during these difficult times. This album is what the world needed in 2020

    These so called 'critics' need to get their subjective ego's out of the way because this pop record is in the top five albums of the year alongside "Chromatica", "Folklore" & "Future Nostalgia".
    For some reason, critics like to bash Katy ever since she came out. Remember "Teenage Dream"?     There are NO skips on this record and it is just hit after hit after hit. As you can see, literally no one agrees with these critics because the user score is phenomonal.
    In my opinion, it is her best work since "Teenage Dream" and this feels like a more grown up version of that. Once again, 'critics' have lost all their credibility.    … Expand

    Katy Perry in her Renaissance Era. Foundations of the album are from strength to strength. Healing even in a spiritual sense. Perry is the definition of Pop Music. The length of the project is perfectly crafted. She found the light after the storm. Guess all she got is Champagne Problems now.

I genuinely love it when artists create melancholic songs yet with an upbeat tempo and not to mention the lyrical excellence of the songs this record have. Indeed this is what we all need during these trying times we are experiencing right now, it depicts resiliency and knowing that there is still hope - as what the lyrics of Resilient says " I know there's gotta be rain if I want the rainbows" and "the darker the night, the brighter the stars glow".     Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
