    It’s safe to say that for some reason, critics find always a way to discredit the work of a female passionate and honest and dedicated woman who spent her life trying to bring joy, sass and power though her songs. And side note that fact is often criticised stating it’s starting to get old to sing about self empowerment but last time I checked, sex is still selling in songs. In most of the reviews, it is mentioned that Katy is staying in her lane which for them is a bad thing but when she switched her artistic vision to create the amazing album witness, they were also dissatisfied. Let’s clarify one point the same reviewers who hate her can’t review her album (it’s common sense). Plus their opinions don’t matter because teenage dream did not get high scores in the past but today they’re using it as a reference ? Let me laugh. To conclude my point, the user score which is ver high btw illustrates how they resonate with the songs. Listen the music and enjoy the lyrics and dance and smile… Expand

    An album that’s, all killer, no filler, and no features. Perry perfectly master the nostalgic melodies, the relatable lyrics and the clean-cut production.

    I don't like this album ... I LOOOOOOVE IT !!!!!! I think that's her best album after Teenage Dream. I could listen it on repeat forever.

The singer gives the perfect definition of what an "era" is reinventing herself from head to toe every time she releases a new record and Smile is definitely not the exception. The album can easily be a book composed of 4 chapters with 3 songs each in which she tells a different spectrum of stories starting with "Acceptance" then "Empowerment" which perfectly flows into the so expected "Happiness" and she closes with the most personal an artist could do "true love".     Absolutely fresh, it brings what Katy knows how to do best: elicit smiles wherever she goes. Katy Perry thought about suicide in the past era and it will not happen again, impartial criticism will never be able to take her smile off again. If you are so bitter, #Smile! ;) LOVE & LIGHT.     This album is complete different you can find how Katy find again the smile and how she can be more powerful and how we like use this powers song in our life every day because, because we can be more resilent, could wait the better things and this is definitely that Katy want to show us.

    Katy simplesmente entregou tudo e mais um pouco. A coesão do álbum é apaixonante, a história por trás dele é sinônimo de superação e resiliência. É o melhor álbum pop do ano e falo isso com muita tranquilidade. As músicas do smile tem o poder de levar o ouvinte para outra dimensão, envolvendo todos em suas melodias.     I love how Katy showed the world that depression can be just a phase and you can always get back your Smile. The album gives me such a positive vibe - even though some lyrics are not that positive. The fact that she made this album with no featured artists, proves to me that Katy Perry is a name that you must put some respect on. She’s complete and I think “Smile” shows it.

    Production wise, I love that she brings back pop-funky 80-ish vibes for some songs, and then a fun bright production to the acoustic one. It’s like a mixture of her previous albums; OOTB, Teenage Dream, PRISM & Witness. The    Katy Perry’s SMILE is an album that tells you stories on how she struggles to find her smile back. If you listen to it closely, on each track, it truly speak to you.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
