    this album is a masterpiece! the personal growth ariana shows in this album is so inspiring!! ive always wanted to really dive into r&b and she did and it’s perfect! her voice sounds heavenly and the lyrics and sweet, raunchy and full of love. i am happy for ariana and where she is in her life right now and i think this album perfectly captures that :)

    She really has matured. Her vocals are impeccable, strong lyrics about sex sung with a sophistication never done. She shows herself to be strong, closer to her cure. R&B is definitely your true style. Ariana shone

    It’s simply amazing. There are many reviews saying that she shouldn’t sing about sex, but she is pushing thirty. It’s not too explicit and every song is different. You can go from dancing to motive to crying while listening to positions. It shows a lot of growth emotionally and mentally from Thank u, Next. It’s a huge development and deserves better than what it’s receiving.

    Every song is more beautiful then the last one. It's maybe not most creative lyrically but does everything have to be wrapped up in poetic language and metaphors? I feel like she is just keeping it real with the lyrics. The vocals are amazing and the instrumental are perfect. The production is so dreamy. This is not a pop album so I don't think people should judge it as a pop album. OnlyEvery song is more beautiful then the last one. Ariana Grande had a challenge in how to approach her sixth studio album, for her last album, thank u next, was made in direct response to the grief and heartbreak in her life, but Ariana delivered better than ever. Unlike sweetener, positions, a life update and in the process of healing album, Ariana does not pretend that everything is okay, but she instead shows through referencing her previous work of thank u next directly in positions that life can and will get better and she is working on it. She questions the things she wrote in the quick 2 weeks of 2018 stating "is it real or just in my head," "learning to be greatful for myself," "all my baggage fading safely," etc. which is very heartwarming to those who are seeing the artist grow and progress. Musically, Ariana's vocals are incredible: with many stacked harmonies and beautiful whistle tones which Grande especially shines in the track "My Hair." Somehow, Ariana has topped herself again, it is exciting to see where she will continue to go in the future.… Expand

    So good recommend POV and Nasty a lot of the other songs are well put together and interesting I think you will really like it people say that it is her worst album but I would totally have to disagree as she really gave us smooth r&b a genre we do not usually hear from her she fits it very well to me and I highly recommend it to you

    For those used to Ariana's pop sound, it's a grower. Just because this album doesn't have songs made for the radio, doesn't mean it's automatically bad. While Ariana is considered a pop artist, she's always had her heart in R&B. Ariana is also a sensual person, therefore it seems fitting for her music to reflect that. In my opinion, it's unreasonable for certain people to expect her toFor those used to Ariana's pop sound, it's a grower. Just because this album doesn't have songs made for the radio, doesn't mean it's automatically bad. While Ariana is considered a pop artist, she's always had her heart in R&B. Ariana is also a sensual person, therefore it seems fitting for her music to reflect that. In my opinion, it's unreasonable for certain people to expect her to make music that she's not 100% passionate about or inauthentic to who she is. I say give this album a chance without any biases of Ariana personally or your old pop favorites from her. I have a feeling that once the clubs open up and concerts can resume, Ariana will bring back some Max Martin bops.

    After two chaotic years, Ariana is healing and wants to share her journey. Many songs are filled with a beautiful orchestra, which I love. This is a very chill album for the fall/winter, so perfect timing. Overall it's a happy ending following the Sweetener and Thank u next eras. I've enjoyed Ariana's progression as an artist and I'll be having this album on repeat.    … Expand

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    Grande laid bare may well be seen as a stopgap in her canon, using taboo to checkmate her past trauma, but it does pull off the rare feat of at least sounding effortless.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
