    absolutely breathtaking. the WHOLE album. my recommendations are obvious, my hair and pov. although 34+35 is explicit, i do recommend for you to give it a listen!

    She delivered an extremely cohesive album, bringing influences from R&B, Soul and Blues, to what is until then her most mature work. The production of this album is incredible, the instrumentals, vocals, arrangements, everything impeccable!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a huge Ariana fan I can say this is my favorite album of hers to date. Most people believe on the surface that the album is all about sex, and while on same tracks that’s the case, in others they lyrics go way beyond that. Ariana has proved time and time again that she is one of the vocalists of our generation and she has done it again. While this album doesn’t rely heavily on belts like her previous works, it’s focuses more in lows and whistles, parts of her range we don’t get to hear as much. You can hear Ariana tastefully sneak whistles in almost every track, nothing is too show off-y. My personal highlight on the album is the closing track “pov”. Ariana and her team created a beautiful meaningful ballad, you could tell every word Grande was saying came from the heart. One thing Ariana always does in her music, is she reminds us that she is human. Her vulnerability on all these tracks makes us feel more connected to her than ever. All in all this is a phenomenal record that everyone should check out!… Expand

    This is my first time listening to a full Ariana Grande album and I can confirm that this is one of the best things I've ever heard, the lyrical content, the production, her voice, everything is on point and perfectly executed, this is my favorite album from this year

    It is a good album, perhaps the best of the singer. each song feels unique, has great vocals and great lyrics. the rhythm of the album (r & b) is excellent and he has a lot of coherence between his songs. As for the songs, there is not a single skip (which makes it very pleasant) and their collaborations were great. my favorite song is POV (please listen to it, it's beautiful in everyIt is a good album, perhaps the best of the singer. each song feels unique, has great vocals and great lyrics. the rhythm of the album (r & b) is excellent and he has a lot of coherence between his songs.     This Album is being rated as a pop album when it’s clearly R&B/soul. Of course it’s going to be slower paced. It’s a great project and Ariana’s best. Her vocal ability has improved and her production is improving.

    Ariana grande hizo definitivamente este años mejor con el arte que nos dio con el álbum positions , su voz, los mensajes de cada canción el amor y el talento que puso en el álbum deberían ser valorados ya que es una artista excepcional una de las mas exitosas y grandes y debería tener mas reconocimiento del que ya tiene.     Ariana constantly reinvents herself and this album showcases immense artistic growth. The album is cohesive but still every song is unique. The collaborations are phenomenal. Ariana vocals are stunning on this album and hits whistles like they’re nothing. Positions is undoubtedly one of her best works to date.

    Such a good album! I really liked what she did here, all the collabs are on point. The classical instruments make those song 100x better! The vocal production and the instrumentals are from heaven. No doubt about that.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, it is disappointing to see Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift fans abusing the user rating function here. I can’t imagine why they might spend their time trying to pull Ariana down considering she is a totally different type of artist: an A-level vocalist who is expanding her repertoire as an engineer, producer, and yes, writer. But it’s still her voice that gets me every time. Positions shows more growth here than even Sweetener did - at times she is low, lush, smooth as silk. And when she goes high, she reaches the clouds. The phrasing she does in her whistle register during My Hair is *A Moment* in mainstream music history, period. The harmonies throughout, produced and arranged by herself, are at varying times ambient, resonant, and ethereal.

    As far as collabs, I think Safety Net with Ty Dolla wins out, and I say that as a massive fan of the Weeknd (their track, Off the Table, is still in my top five). I also love the bouncy Six Thirty and the chilled-out yet sparkly vibe of Just Like Magic. Of course, POV is very special to any fan who knows what Ariana has been up against, as well as anyone who loves a pop diva vocal ballad. Spectacular, moving, would love more of that.

    I feel like this is the music Ariana always wanted to make. That’s actually pretty evident when you compare this work to some choices she made on Yours Truly. If she’s done kissing up to a pure pop audience, I’m happy for her, and I think she is, too.    … Expand

    ariana’s worst album. i love her to dealth but she could’ve done so much better. lyrically 90% of the songs sound exactly the same theyre all so repetitive and boring. sonically they sound the same. i really expected so much more :( but POV is such a good relieving finish to the album though i love it.

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
