    Such an unnecessary album in her discography. She needs to take a break and get some new inspiration; apart from a few songs like My Hair, she is just so watered down and it's more of the same trap inspired pop. It's all just generic with some cringe and immature lyrics and songwriting. Hopefully her next one can sound like Sweetener.

    Positions is clearly an album about growth and finding happiness after so much problems that Ariana Grande been trough. This may be a pop album, but we can see the R&B inspired on the instrumentals and on the vocals. All together it sounds like heaven.
    My congratulations to this amazing album.

    O álbum parece uma versão americana dos Barões da pisadinha, extremamente genérico como tudo que ela faz. Um terror para os ouvidos. Cantores como Lana Del Rey, Weyes Blood, Clairo e Conan são a salvação da nossa geração com obras autorais e de qualidade.

    Yet another skipless album by Miss Grande. Love the R&B sound. The vocals are magnificent as usual.

    I feel like this Ariana job is lacking in cooking, it's really a shame that she released this album out of obligation.

    Out of all of her albums, this one is the weakest album second to Sweetener. Some things that I don’t like about this album are:
    -> There’s one song that’s a carbon copy of thank u, next.
    -> A lot of songs are forgettable. -> Some of the song’s production value is mediocre at best. -> Some of the song’s lyrics are generic or even worse. -> Ariana didn’t take enough break. She released 3

    -> Some of the song’s lyrics are generic or even worse.
    -> Ariana didn’t take enough break. She released 3 albums in 12 months time frame (sweetener, thank u, next, and positions) and it’s taking a toll on her creativity and artistry. Out of 14 songs, I only like 6 songs. So it’s only around 43% of the album’s entire content. Songs that I like are:
    -> motive ft. Doja Cat (since Doja’s verse saved the song).
    -> just like magic (even though it’s a trap song, she delivered it really well).
    -> safety net ft. ty dolla $ign (they both carried the song really well).
    -> my hair (the entire album should’ve had this song’s vibe since it sounds like a good RnB song in this album).
    -> positions (a well-made lead single).
    -> pov (should’ve been a single instead of 34+35).

    Songs that I don’t like:
    -> shut up (I can’t recognize the song’s structure).
    -> 34+35 (lyric is not good, instrumental is a carbon copy of thank u, next).
    -> nasty (I was excited when I heard the snippet. when I heard the entire song it was a big disappointment for me).
    -> west side (very boring).
    -> love language (the production is a bit messy, especially at the end. she shouldn’t include that part into the song).
    -> obvious (-ly forgettable). About “off the table ft. The Weeknd”, that song is not bad. Lyrics and production value is good. The only drawback is the tempo. It’s too slow for my taste and I almost fell asleep while listening to it. Overall, this album was a whole rollercoaster. Many ups, many downs. And let me remind you that there are 21 producers (including Ariana herself) working in this album so that tells you a lot.

    This album is pretty meh to me. I do like the combination of orchestral instruments and electronic beats on some of the songs (shut up, 34+35, love language, etc) but sadly the album doesn't explore that sound as much as I thought it would. Everything after track 3 kinda felt like listening to a vacuum of pop noise, but then after "Nasty", everything gets good again. So I dunno what to sayThis album is pretty meh to me. The lead single, Positions was also a strong tune which showcases her great vocals. The best song on the album has to POV ,a beautiful ballad, one of her best if i do say so myself. This album is just a step backwards for her, in my opinion. Expand

    ruim. péssimo. igual ao TUN, cheio de batida trap genérica. nada novo. ariana morreu em DW, depois disso só decauiu e tá lançando qualquer merd* só pra dizer que lançou.

    This album is truly one of my favourites ever.. Ariana Grande managed to combine good enough lyrics with an astonishing production. Her vocal performance is completely out of this world and honestly I believe this is one of her best works on that department, if not the best. I hope that she dives into rnb even more in the future.

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    Grande laid bare may well be seen as a stopgap in her canon, using taboo to checkmate her past trauma, but it does pull off the rare feat of at least sounding effortless.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
