    In general it's a good work but it seems to me that it lacks in some aspects. The whole album seems to have the same songs with the same subjects as always. Sounds better than her previous one but its lyrics could be better.

    This is probably the most underwhelming work Ariana has ever put out. While Sweetener was divisive, it still managed to be both creative and distinctive and, as a result, songs had their own personalities. Thank you, Next succeeded in this regard too, much better than Sweetener in my own opinion. Positions just felt like it was phoned in. Majority of the songs are far too sonically similarThis is probably the most underwhelming work Ariana has ever put out.     Not on Ariana's comfort zone, that's why it's different from her whole discography, getting closer to a completely R&B sound that fits her voice very softly.
    Amazed by the collaborations on the album, the way The Weeknd and Ty Dolla $ign fits on the song with Grande's voice is out of this world.

    Positions brought nothing new to the table. It has the same old vibes of her previous works - sexy, sex, boss bit*h , bad bit*h - becomes too familiar now, mostly shallow lyrics and overall lack substance. I was very much expecting her to try something new. But it has some good beats and pov is the best song and a good closure.

    I enjoyed the intimate, sensual theme running through all the tracks and I think Ariana did a great job thematically linking everything. Features were largely unmemorable, Doja Cat's in particular was disappointing because Motive had a lot of potential for a stand-out guest verse. Ari has definitely progressed, lyrically, judging from tracks like pov.     So bland, repetitive and boring. I’ve been a fan of her past albums, but this I absolutely do not enjoy. On top of the generic production, the lyricism is atrocious (Can we stay up all night, f*ck me till the daylight) ?!!??? Just overall it’s incredibly weak. Very disappointed.

    It’s not good, it has 1 or 2 good tracks, nasty and pov (those are excellent though), thank u, next is one of my favorite albums of all time, this ones not it, but it’s nothing against Ari, she has a lot of potential and she’s proven she’s one of the best artists right now, it hurts me to have to rate it that low.

A lot of reviews are not fond of the sexual themes of this album, it seems like they want the pop star to be depressed every album and not have fun. The album is definitely a grower and isn’t necessarily targeted for a mainstream/pop audience. It is a very R&B influenced project with hints of jazz and blues in tracks such as “My Hair”, or the sultry “Off the Table”, I guess people expected another love me harder 2.0 with this track. To conclude this review, Positions is not for everyone, but the good quality, production of the album can’t be denied even if you’re a fan or not.… Expand

The sound is rushed and overall horrible, I couldn’t even go through some of the songs on the first listen.     This album is definitely her best piece of work. Her move away from pop that she has been use to for years is what makes this album so much better. Her most cohesive body of work yet. It’s kind of sad to see people hate on this album so much because she has moved from pop to r&b, a genre in which her voice excels.

    Incredibly disappointing for the huge demand and hype this album had! Not a single song stood out, she keeps recycling the same annoying trap beat songs! It's already about the be the most overrated album this year, her fans just don't know good music.

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
