    the album is quite a departure from its main usual pop moments, it is much more refreshing, Positions has more of a connective feel than much of their previous work. personally beats thank u next, After all, Grande has always been an album artist, and this is another great album, give it up for this great album

    the entire album is about reflection, healing, growth, confidence & love. the songs slap, collabs are immaculate, vocals are exquisite, lyrics tantalizing, whistle tones & registers are breathtaking, the aesthetic is gorgeous & the messages are illuminating. R&B is her genre. Her voice is angelic on every track. If you hate positions you’re absolutely tasteless.

    Ariana shows she not only excels in the pop scene, but also in R&B inspired music as well. Anyone who says this is a mediocre album obviously doesn’t appreciate anything outside of pop. Ariana Grande once again proves she is one of the best artists out here, with or without critic approval.

    positions, an R&B album that is steeped in sensuality with Ariana's voice, after such a historic album Ariana develops doing what she always wanted to do, the lyrics are deep but it falls into repetition on tracks like nasty, the production is incredible, without a doubt this is Ariana's most elegant album.

The songs like “just like magic” and “motive” perfectly embody happiness and fun, and the backing music to both is something we have never really heard before from Ariana.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It’s her worst album, no doubts. They put some instruments at the beginning and at the ending of some songs but it usually sounds the same. The same trap-pop vibes as Thank U, next. The lyrics are shallow, generics. And her vocals sound the same in every song. How can someone go from a song like “Just a little bit of your heart” to a song like “shut up”?!… Expand

    This is without a doubt her best work yet. From low notes to showing off whistle notes, this album shows vocal growth and material growth. She ditched her usually pop upbeat songs into an r&b filled album which she has created exceptionally. The album has no skips and every track is single-worthy. A perfect 10/10.

    This entire album exudes the most beautiful energy. It’s such an intimate journal entry into the artist’s life. pov is my official new favorite song — ill probably have it played at my wedding

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
