    A brand new production for ariana! I love the new retro-pop style! And her normally beautifully soulful singing is balanced with breathier and lighter vocals on tracks like love language. Some of the ariana we know and love pops up on obvious, positions, and motive. The titular song is my personal favorite.

    Absolutely incredible album. Each song has emotion and depth, and Ariana’s growth in her own well-being is shown throughout the album. It sounds beautiful and honestly this is the best thing to come out of 2020 for me.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. one of the most dull and lackluster albums I've heard in the last years. no personality or artistry was showcased throughout the 14 tracks. many critics have pointed out that the album feels like it's missing something, and it is, it's missing a purpose. it's unfortunate that ariana, having one of the best voices in the industry, has nothing to say or offer as an artist. not a single track that I would want to add to my playlist (there's always at least one, even kn the worst albums), not a single standout track to be claimed by the fanbase. just a very very sad attempt of an album from an artist with no vision or ambitions.… Expand

    This album is some of her best work! Between the vocals, songwriting, and melodies, every song brings something new to the table but they also stay cohesively tied together to the album theme and sound. This might actually be my favourite album she’s put out yet!

    Ariana Grande shines through with this highly R&B-influenced 14-track record. Although not as ambitious as her previous work, she still proves herself worthy of attention and listening to after leaving the power-pop hits for sultry, slow-tempo R&B - a genre Ariana had wanted to dabble in since the beginning of her career. I would consider it a marvelous musical journey.

    The good part is her voice. Flawless as always!
    The bad part? You listen the entire album and it sounds like a only song. Doesn't give you a mountain of feelings.
    But I would recommend just because of her voice.
    PS: The Weeknd made a really difference in this album! Love it!

This album is amazing I was there the second it dropped and I listen to it nonstop from 9pm to when I fell asleep at 2am and the second I woke up I listened to it for another 3 straight hours this is definitely a true work of art and is the greatest album released this year in my opinion and please give this album a try it really is beautiful and I love this new side of Ariana and I can’t wait to see what she has next… Expand

    In instrumentals, Grande it brings to us perhaps as a mixture of his last two works, but with an undeniable essence of R&B and in    Perhaps this is undoubtedly one of the best work of, Grande (If not the best) In some parts she shows us that she doesn't need to make melodies or high notes to stand out as a vocalist, but, in contrast, at times she leaves us speechless with her vocal power.
    In instrumentals, Grande it brings to us perhaps as a mixture of his last two works, but with an undeniable essence of R&B and in some songs incredible orchestral touches. Grande proves that the only one who can harmonize with her is just her, with impeccable vocal harmonies.
    The lyrical content of the album shows us a more explicit side of Ariana that contrasts very well with everything else.
    The very well chosen partnerships further complement the album.
    For people in a hurry or who do not give due attention to the smallest details, it may seem more of the same! But it is not! Without a doubt I say that this is the best produced work of Grande. As time passes, the songs grow inside you making them even better, maybe this is one of Ariana's less commercial albums, because it doesn’t contain songs that would become instant hits like "7 Rings" "Problem" or "Thank U Next", but growing songs that demand your attention down to the smallest details.
    Without a doubt, this album cannot be left out of the list of one of the best of the year.    … Expand

Positions is a beautiful album, I was a little bit skeptical upon hearing the first single that was released but I instantly fell in love with the album as soon as I heard it. Ariana has matured and blossomed into an artist who uses her voice in such a beautiful way.     Some tracks of this album, for example “pov” and “nasty” are for the books, but alot of the songs on this album are mainly fillers/skips. I do think that the album doesn’t deserve the hate that it’s receiving though.

    The album for its self contains a lot of R&B, Soul hits, but it also has some misses. Some of the tracks felt like they were missing something, but the rest of the songs, and the collaborations turned out amazing, the instrumentals and vocals on point. Ariana did a great job with this album

    This album is great it is very cohesive, I don't particularly like the HUGE number of composers in the songs, however it is very well produced Ariana's vocals are great and the lyrics are very mature (better than thank u, next), best song is my hair (it reminded me a lot of Mariah Carey in the 2000s) and the worst is love language is not a memorable track.

    this is her best album yet. it portrays her growth and healing process so well. her vocals are out of this world (my hair, pov, off the table!!!) and i love how she experiments with new genres as well! well done ariana this body of work is everything and more!!

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
