    The album is a total celebration and shows love in all its forms. in this album shows an evolved Taylor compared to her previous album Reputation. The only bad thing I find to the album is that in some moments it is repetitive and this due to the length of it.

    Just beautiful. The Guardian ranked Lover with 60 because "it's too long"... I'm speechless. They also ranked an album (better than Lover) made by a male with 20 tracks with a higher rank than Lover. They didn't even called the album "too long." Men privilege. This isn't fair.

    Lover is as bright and colourful as Reputation was dark. The diversity Taylor manages to pull off makes it always an interesting thing to look forward to. Taylor is a hit making machine and with this release she continues to! It's a strong album as usual with the best tracks being "The Man" and "Cruel Summer"!

She takes responsibility for things, looking at the ups and downs of the past years of her life while also remaining authentically Taylor Swift with the shade we love. Songs like Cruel Summer, The Man and Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince are the driving force of the album, however, some songs are almost too sugary sweet and can only be listened to a few times before you're tired of it like London Boy and You Need To Calm Down.

    Overall, it is a good album with strong lyricism, relatability and positive light. It would have received a higher score if there was just a touch more honesty and less of a view with rose coloured glasses.    … Expand

Despite her past efforts, Lover jumps out and easily becomes one of her best works to date. This album consolidates her once again as a pop force and a true gladiator for this genre in a time where hiphop, rap and trap have the top spots between the audience.

    Taylor is one of the rare artists of our generation that constantly and consistently delivers quality with every project. And what is even more rare, while she is always unapologetically and intrinsically the Taylor we know, her artistic growth is almost unmatched among her peers.     As a long-time Swift fan I can say that this album, probably more than any other before, displays her maturing process brilliantly and that can be seen in her lyrics, sounds, as well as the themes she covers throughout this album. Never has she been so introspective, aware and open about her flaws and how they have affected her life and relationships. Some songs cut so deep that they make the listener feel almost called out, because let's face it, who can't relate to screw-ups and all the ways they've affected our lives? Even two lead singles that have gotten mixed reviews, and it should be noted that Swift has developed a habit of releasing polarizing singles - at this point it seems like she enjoys deceiving public with her first releases, sound so much better and purposeful in the context of the album as a body of work.

    There's so much more that can be said for this album, after all - it is 18 songs long and there is a lot to unpack. So make some time and give this album a proper listen. Or two. Or five. Because this album is well worth spending time on.    … Expand

Exactly 2 years after her carrear changing “Look What You Made Me Do”, we get to see what’s in “The last page” she asked not to be read: a rainbow-ish and refreshing album called “Lover”. The surprise came right inThis album was from the very beginning a completely surprise: with her controversial “reputation”, Swift proved to be the leader of the games the whole media tried to play. Exactly 2 years after her carrear changing “Look What You Made Me Do”, we get to see what’s in “The last page” she asked not to be read: a rainbow-ish and refreshing album called “Lover”. The surprise came right in April, with the Brandon new song “ME!”, loved by some and uncomprehended by others. The shiny and light sound was exactly what the public did not expect from the “New Taylor”... and she knew it. Months later she released an album which would have the same feeling. The story begins with the acknowledgment of her previous drama and confusion with the sweet “I Forgot That You Existed”. With “Cruel Summer”, “Lover” and “The Archer” the songwriter proves she and Jack Antonoff are a part of the small percentage of artists who can deliver the perfect timeless pop music this decade. Following, “The Man” is the perfect happier and lightest (but not any less badass) sister of the older “I Did Something Bad”. From the sixth track, the album starts to get stronger and even better: “I Think He Knows” is some type of tribute to the hit pop songs from the last decade. “Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince” is a political song hidden between the lines of a high school drama. With the following two songs, Taylor proves to love and cherish her loved one, in the old upbeat country “Paper Rings”, showing her fear if something ever happens to their love, in the dreamy “Cornelia Street”, putting in perspective if it indeed comes true, in the angelic “Death By a Thousand Cuts”. With “London Boy”, we’re brought once again to a real (and surprisingly happy and strong) love. In “Soon You’ll Get Better”, Swift shows us a new love we haven’t heard since “The Best Day”, from her sophomore album: in both she tells us about how much she loves her best friend, her mother, but in the new song she admits her fears and desperation for her mother’s cancer, being a difficult one to listen to in a normal basis because of how raw and real it is. In “False God” Taylor surprises us with a sexy slow jazz and in “Afterglow” the surprise is in how she begs to not be left, talking about, in both, how real her love is because of their problems and inability to do it right all the time. “It’s Nice To Have a Friend” is definitely an underrated one: maybe it’s because of the way she chooses to sing about finding (finally) a friendship in a romantic commitment, with kids choirs in the background and a delicate trumpet leading our story. For the ending, Taylor decides to admits she is living what she always dreamed with, in a “Daylight”, full of happiness and a love, not only with her lover, but with her family, with her fans and, most importantly, herself.
    We come in conclusion that “Lover” is another sonically and lyrically masterpiece in the collection of the one of the greatest artists of all music industry. The different but cohesive sounds put together makes sense and fall right into place in this beautiful and real album, ready to be a part of the rest of our lives.     To be honest. Taylor wrote all of this song from the bottom of her heart and she’s definitely can understand everyone’s feelings. Well it’s not just about her but everybody can be related to the lyrics. This is the highly anticipated album of 2019. Cover in peace.
