    This is Taylor's worst album, unfortunately the singer has brought a horrible job with poor quality songs, and always bring the same theme on all albums talking about her ex boyfriends, Taylor please stop this horrible.

    Just having noticed this was her most critically-acclaimed album to date, I gave it a listen and was appalled at the rating. She is in her 30s, a grown woman, and was more mature at age 15.

    The lyrics are embarrassing and tone-deaf; she waited over a decade to make any kind of sociopolitical statement (or any statement at all, in fact, that wasn’t directly pertaining to her being    Just having noticed this was her most critically-acclaimed album to date, I gave it a listen and was appalled at the rating.     The lyrics are embarrassing and tone-deaf; she waited over a decade to make any kind of sociopolitical statement (or any statement at all, in fact, that wasn’t directly pertaining to her being victimized and purportedly wronged by the public, other famous women and her string of exes alike), and her contribution? “YOU NEED TO CAAAALM DOWN, YOU'RE BEING TOOOO LOUD.” If only
    Taylor took her own highly patronizing advice and shut her offkey mouth.

    And, unsurprisingly, the lead single, “Me!” is another juvenile egocentric embarrassment, as observed via the title alone. There’s a very good reason she stopped winning Grammys as of her two most recent records; the whining child persona is not charming, and content remains as dull as Swift herself. Her only saving grace thus far has been decent lyrics, so given she is perpetually 30 going on 13, it appears her expiration date has finally arrived.    … Expand

    Another solid album from Taylor but doesn't quite match up to Reputation in my opinion. The man however may be my favorite Taylor Swift song of all time.

    In “Lover”, Swift has obliviously explored her lyrics from her love stories that has inspired and moved a lot of young teenagers, to using her influence in her lyrics on reflecting social problems. In the track “The Man”, she has clearly sung out how she was discriminated as a woman, by comparing herself with Leonardo DiCaprio, when it comes to partners, fame, and money.     With mind-numbingly inoffensive highs and condescendingly childish lows, Lover is a long, seemingly pointless endeavour into thematically light but murkily familiar territory, making for a remarkable step down even after the underwhelmingly shallow reputation.

After the lukewarm critical reception of that decision, the “old Taylor” is clearly back on Lover, but is that a good thing? While listening to Lover it is clear that the album was manufactured to replicate the “old Taylor”. Taylor Swift is one of my top 5 favorite musical artists of all time. The cover and cd artwork is beautiful, I love the pastel colors. Taylor Swift's writing is phenomenal especially on the songs Lover, The Archer, and Soon You'll Get Better. Taylor Swift's vocals are terrific on the album just like they always are. The production was great. I love all of the songs on Lover and I decided to rank them from 1-18 os here is my ranking Lover, Soon You'll Get Better, The Archer, Cruel Summer, You Need to Calm Down, ME!, I Forgot That You Existed, Miss Americana + the Heartbreak Prince, Paper Rings, London Boy, The Man, I Think He Knows, Afterglow, Daylight, Cornelia Street, Death by a Thousand Cuts, False God, and It's Nice to Have a Friend. The music video for ME! has outstanding visual effects and great choreography, the music video for You Need to Calm Down is fantastically fun and I loved all of the celebrity cameos, and the music video for Lover is super cute and sweet. I also loved the memo's and the behind the scenes writing and recording of I Forgot That You Existed and Lover. A hands down A+ album.… Expand

    i’m just in love with this album, Taylor really provides a healthier option, she added some sweet, love and her personal experiences in all songs. NOSTALGIC!!!

    This album is just a typical generic pop album. It’s actually the same as all of her old ones. Literally has not shown any growth musically and/or lyrically. In fact, I believe that the last couple albums of hers have actually been on a steady decline of quality. Her fans need to take her advice and calm down when tearing down other artists who release albums around the same time as her.

    Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
