    Absolute rubbish album this is. This album is just an apology for how bad reputation was but feels unoriginal and lazy. This album has themes of romance, social issues and dreams that reminds me of Madonnas album in 1986 True Blue. Taylor’s vocals are overly processed with autotune and reverb. Her songwriting is overly formulaic and isn’t as poignant as her 2012 album Red and theAbsolute rubbish album this is.     such a let down. Going from an era which was all about becoming a bad girl and changing and letting go of the old Taylor, and then she goes and makes the most bubble gum pop, pink and girly era she has ever had which takes all sincerity and realness out of Reputation and showing it was completely orchestrated and not honest or sincere at all.

    Wow! Lover is really the WORST album of the decade along with Reputation and 1989. and her fans have the audacity to come for other artists artistry.
    and she did all that payola, promo and 4 deluxe versions for this garbage..imagine being this desperate for charts and sales, only Taylor Swift can relate.

    On Maturity

    Often when it comes to artists I've liked I find that sometimes they have to be left behind because I have matured while their music has stayed still. Yes, 10 years ago I would love to listen to a song about a breakup and how hard it is, but I've grown up from that time. Oddly, Taylor and I are the same age but I feel her music has gone backwards in maturity. She still makes    On Maturity

    Often when it comes to artists I've liked I find that sometimes they have to be left behind because I have matured while their music has stayed still. Yes, 10 years ago I would love to listen to a song about a breakup and how hard it is, but I've grown up from that time. Oddly, Taylor and I are the same age but I feel her music has gone backwards in maturity. She still makes entire songs and lyrics about high school, prom dresses, school hallways. It makes imagery that's actually fairly strong but I graduated a decade ago, I've got a career and an education; Taylor, who is this music for? Who dreams about high school?

    As for the quality of the music itself mos to fit plays like very generic pop sound. None of it will floor you, none of it is new or refreshing, it does not bring anything new to the genre.

    On this album the songs that stuck out most for me were the tracks where Taylor tries something different or goes back to her roots. Acoustic on Lover, something different on London Boy, country sounds and maturity on Soon You'll Get Better.

    Would I recommend this album? Not particularly but you're going to hear it anyway.    … Expand

    Too long, so a lot of the songs are unnecessary. Also they all kinda sound the same and since they're bad, that's a terrible thing to happen.

Me!, You Need to Calm Down, and Paper Rings are perfect examples of this.

    This is another of Swift's highs, with very cohesive narrative in its fundamentals. Also, we have a nice romanticization of love, which always sees the light of day in its recent releases. "Lover" is about loving.

    “I Forgot You Existed” and “The Man” are the only songs I could listen to from beginning to end without skipping parts. The album as a whole is a disappointment and a downgrade from her work on Reputation which had more attitude and originality.

    A really great album. She covers all the bases and experiments with new subject matter and different sounds. I am a sucker for the sax in the False God. I enjoyed the growl in cruel summer. Soon you’ll get better made me sad. My favorite songs are Cornelia Street, Afterglow and False God.

    I am proud to say its the best album released this year . I can relate to every song and some songs are classics . The man is a empowerment anthem , Paper rings gives me clueless vibes , Cruel summer is a masterpiece and I can relate to each track which is amazing . By the way its Taylor's best album .     Eu acompanho a Taylor há 5 anos, sendo "Lover" a minha terceira era com ela. Acompanhei uma das piores fases da Taylor, e por isso sei o quanto é gratificante ver ela tão feliz e com o amor que ela sempre almejou encontrar. Ela merece tudo de bom nesse mundo. Eu te amo, princesa.

    I am not a fan of American pop, but this album truly feels sweet. I wish that arianators would stop flooding with 0 reviews. Just because it isn’t the same repetitive phrases over and over again like thank u next or 7 rings it doesn’t mean it is bad.

While it, of course, still had a few standouts ("Cruel Summer" and "Soon You'll Get Better" come to mind), they were so few and far    So, my verdict is...... Ehhhhhhh?

    The only constant thing during Swift's career is her mesmerizing ability to turn such a smile detail into a whole spectrum of emotions and with 'Lover' she once again proved herself as the genius of a songwriter she is.
