evermore feels like the older, more mature sister of folklore. Since these two albums are described as sisters by Swift herself, it does feel like they come from the same womb and grew up with the same roots, but like most siblings, not all life experiences are shared. That is where one may find the dichotomy between the two albums. Although the tone and theme are one and the same, Swift’severmore feels like the older, more mature sister of folklore. That is where one may find the dichotomy between the two albums. Although the tone and theme are one and the same, Swift’s storytelling has never shined brighter than in evermore which is a great feat considering her storytelling in folklore was one of the best ever done. It is very clear she has masterfully detached real stories from folklore in evermore, yet at the same time these stories whether real or fiction, still resonate in many. Expand

She's done it again. I am beyond happy for this album, I was literally sobbing at 6 in the morning when it came out in my country. She's experimenting with all this different sounds and most important, I think, she's having fun. Yes, it's Folklore's sister, but as all sisters know, they are completely different people and hate to be compared to.

As “The Guardian” said, not everything on this album works. Although, these new tracks make up for the forgotten tracks on folklore, with an upgraded production and twist, it is still less impactful. Nevertheless, there are lyrics or sounds that appeal to one’s interest.

The body of work contains numerous collaborations, all of them being able to find meaning and place as Taylor speaks

The body of work contains numerous collaborations, all of them being able to find meaning and place as Taylor speaks about injustice, mental health and being in the right mind. As to closing this new album, she outdoes herself, earning redemption in a sense which "folklore" was never able to.

She might have found a new formula for releasing albums, but she’d better keep an eye and have faith in time, without rushing out into the world. For now, she’s the happiest forevermore.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Swift just can’t stop surprising us. As if exploring tales and stories that aren’t her own wasn’t enough with “folklore”, she does it again, beautifully, with evermore. She discovered she can be anything she wants in any music genre and still be herself: a unique storyteller. And her picks for featuring couldn’t be better. It was a nice surprise to see a new side of Justin Vernon’s voice and how it just goes with her voice. Just as it was in the Grammy nominated “Exile”. “No body, no crime” is also as good, the selfwritten song is as pleasant as it gets.Happiness and Marjorie also deserve to be acclaimed since they are unexpectedly two of the best songs in this album.
