Turned it off after 43 minutes into it. Nice idea, good premise. Horribly written, terrible, almost kitschy acting. And cliche till it's pounded through your skull, leaving you angrily numb.

Mr. Apatow, I know Spinal Tap. And this movie, sir, is no Spinal Tap. I barely laughed through this movie. Highly overrated and overhyped, many of the jokes cames across as underwhelming and overused.

If not for the hilarious Beatles moment and the Bob Dylan spoof, this movie would be nothing more than jokes told around the couch with a bunch of guys with beers in their hands and Dylan on the stereo. I like John C. Reilly very much and expected this to be an embarrassingly stupid yet occasionally very funny movie. It threw me because it has fewer stupid slapstick moments than I expected and those it has weren't that funny. For me, I like John C. This movie was not nearly as funny as I had hoped, the jokes were re-hashed. Terrible writing and equally poor acting. Very disappointing. There seemed to be no point to some of the gags, they just didn't work.
