I really good adventure classic, i really loves these Indiana jones,Pirate of the carrabien like movies.
Overall things are good and with good pacing which makes for good, if not particularly memorable, entertainment.

Had this been a new, original brand, it would be an average title at most. Just another Wahlberg action movie. Watch and forget. We have been promised an "Uncharted" movie, we have been served something else entirely. Naming the characters alike and squeezing in (with little logical justification) some of the action scenes from the game is not a believeable "magic tric". It's and easy run for your money. Dissapointinly (because we have seen him do better even recently) Tom Holland does another Peter Parker act (which pays out aweful as Nathan D.), whereas Mark Wahlberg is yet again Mark Wahlberg.… Expand

Long time fan of the video game series - went to see it with my son and we had a blast. A totally fun, popcorn action movie. Хочу в начале обзора обратить внимание, что я не буду в данном обзоре сравнивать фильм с игрой, чтоб оценить более объективно фильм как отдельный проект. Начну пожалуй с актеров. Каст персонажей для меня оказался немного странный как сам Том Холланд в роли Нейтана Дрейка так и Марк Уоллберг, вообще в непривычном образе шута. Почему проблема с Холландом, в первую очередь в начале фильма тебя не покидает вечное ощущение будто ты наблюдаешь образ Человека Паука только в другом костюме, возможно это проблема локализации, но я думаю в первую очередь это проблема как и актера так и режиссера со сценаристом, по сути образ вечного шута, гимнаста очень много пустой болтовни и к сожалению полное отсутствие той брутальности, которая должна преследовать подобного персонажа. По поводу сценария и диалогов, не могу сказать, что прям очень плохо, классический середняк и проходной сценарий, где все друг-друга предают по 100 раз, никому доверять нельзя, а потом все друзья, очень много ВОДНЫХ диалогов, когда разговор происходит ни о чем, это либо искрометная шутка будто вырванная из контекста, либо РУЖЬЯ БОНДАРЧУКА (знающие поймут). Логика фильма порой страдает до ужаса, треть фильма была задействована канализация города, особенные ключи для особенных тонеллей, которые ведут в публичный клуб и которые так легко находит антагонист, как и всегда в этом фильме они их легко находят без какой-либо зацепки и вообще какого либо объяснения, ну и в дальнейшем найти дверь где соединяют два ключа и собственно второй ключ сбрасывается напрямую просто через люк, где все видно (тайным местом не попахивает, что нарушает всю логику). В общем фильм на раз оценка 5.5/10, на метакритике поставлю 6 округляю в большую сторону ибо нельзя 5.5.… Expand

A huge fan of the games, having played through all 4 and the spin-off, and I gotta say it a was really enjoyable movie. Tom Holland had an incredible performance as a young Drake. I also really liked the actress who played Chloe, she definitely brought the Chloe vibe from the games. The set pieces were great and the action overall was to notch as could be expected from a blockbuster production like this. This definitely could have been better though, and people coming into this expecting a very loyal adaption of the games might leave a bit disappointed. Regardless, I still had a really fun time with it and am looking forward to see where this goes next if they decide to go with a sequel.… Expand

I don`t understand movie companies these days...
Just because one actor is suitable for a particular role and brings millions to the box office, that does not mean put that same actor to play a character he can no way even resemble, let aloneI don`t understand movie companies these days...

Actors like Keanu Reeves, Ryan Reynolds, Clint Eastwood... they are suitable for a particular role and same goes for Holland...

Was a pleasant surprise and i didn't come with a lot of expectations.

Any other music would have done a better job at this point. I get that they wanted the best since they hired the composer Ramin Djawadi but he didn't take this project seriously and it shows. For someone this talented(really good) something feels off because any human being that can hum a melody with their mouth can come up with something better.(but you be the judge).

I feel sad that i remember only hearing the game's theme song at the credit roll.

The casting was really good. The dialogs were kept light but always with intent and the action kept flowing. A good introduction for non fans.

Whenever there is great complicity between actors in a movie it always shows. The best thing about this movie in my opinion is Drake and Sully's relation and its culmination towards the end. Made it worthwhile.
I think for the way it was presented and shown throughout there should be a second one and i am looking forward to it.
Mark Wahlberg pulled off a badass young Sully. Egotistical, a-hole, sensitive, funny and greedy with a heart of gold.

Keep in mind that they are doing the young version of the characters.
Lot of good compromises for only 2 hours and still the essence of uncharted is there at every corner.

There was a weird moment were a character in a scene was Cropped like the first time i used photoshop.

I love the uncharted games, so I was very excited to see this. At the same exact time, I was worried that it would be hot garbage, so I was hesitant. But I can confidently say that I had a great time watching this movie. It was fun, TomI love the uncharted games, so I was very excited to see this. It was fun, Tom Holland was charismatic as usual and fit as Nathan Drake better than I thought he would. Mark Walberg was also great, although I get a different vibe from his Sully than the one in the games. Admittedly it could have been better for sure. The villains were a pretty cliche at times, and I wanted to hear more of the uncharted theme music because it's the best. But overall it was great fun, and I'd watch it again. Sort of reminds me of how I view Pirates of the Caribbean. It's super fun to watch, but it can be a bit wonky at times.… Expand

I was worried about this one going in because the uncharted series is my favorite games and many game movies aren't that great but the Uncharted movie was awesome! I really enjoyed this movie and would recommend it to anyone who loves the games and anyone who's never played them too. I can't wait for the sequels!… Expand

Uncharted has no pretention of being anything but a two hours Escape Game fun romp spiked with witty banters, action scenes and the barest of characterization needed to keep the stakes high and events involving. And I think that's perfectly fine. Not every movie needs to redefine the medium and being fun for the sake of being fun is a valid approach to movie making.

So, with that said, how does Uncharted fare when judged for what it wants to be and not what you wished it was ?

It's... genuinely great ?
Its biggest strength has to be the pacing : nothing feels superfluous. Scenes fluidly transition from one setpiece to the next, every interaction serves a purpose and new elements are constantly introduced ; the heroes obviously succeed but every plan is met with unforeseen complications solved by quick thinking and skill, a constant back and forth keeping you on edge. Yes, this isn't breaking any new ground, but it's done flawlessly and consistently, which is almost as impressive as the action itself.

Would I recommend watching Uncharted ?
Depends on what you're looking for in a movie. Uncharted does one thing almost perfectly and offers nothing else : if you're not here for larger-than-life characters chewing the scenery you've come to the wrong movie.… Expand

Typically video game movies do not have a reputation for making a good movie, this one was pretty decent. I had never heard of the game before, I went in with a fresh perspective and expectations. There were moments in the moment that were predictable or made me roll my eyes but come on, it's a video game movie. I expected a number of those. I would recommend seeing this to my friends looking for something fun to watch. Be sure to stay for an after credit or two. Side note, not sure if anyone else noticed Rotten Tomatoes sensors the users scores on this movie. Throttling reviews. Which made me come here instead.… Expand

It could be an average movie if not related to the game. I didn't watch Holland's Spiderman movies so I didn't confuse his role as Nathan Drake with Peter Parker. I went into the Uncharted movie with low expectations. I enjoyed the games but I thought the casting was strange,I still do after seeing it but can’t say any of the main cast did a bad job. Tom Holland does a decent job as Nate and I can see him growing into the role as this film series (yes there will be sequels) goes on. The action scenes were great but my favourite part was actually half way through where the 3 main lead characters had to work as a team to solve a series of puzzles. The bad guy is a bit cliche but there are twists & turns I didn’t see coming.
Yes the action set pieces are over the top,silly and a little unrealistic but then so are the ones in the games which it mimics so well. Don’t go into this expecting Indiana Jones but this not a negative, this film has it’s own style which I like about it (ok the only thing I saw copied from Indy were the map scenes as the plane travelled across the globe) If you leave your brain behind and just go into it without overthinking the silliness/ridiculous of some of the situations they find themselves in then you will have fun in the 2 hours runtime characters had to work as a team to get thr… Expand

Ruben Fleischer, the director nailed the narrative and the story self-explains as it evolves by unshadowing the many mysteries laid at the beginning...
the actors nail Nathan Drake and Sully, creating a good chemistry between the actors, who in my opinion nail it. Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are pretty much the perfect duo Nathan & Sully...

The movie is awesome to see at a 4DX where I have seen it and it brings back a great feeling of awesomeness I haven't felt since "Indiana Jones" times.

My recommendation: A great movie worth watching in the cinema, and as it is an action one, better in 4DX!… Expand

L'actrice principale joue très bien. Tom Holland nous fait du Tom Holland. Maladresse, 3 expression différentes et c'est tout. Il joue exactement pareil que dans Spider man. Mark Wahlberg joue bien son rôle même si j'ai bien compris qu'apparemment selon les fans, ce n'était pas un bon choix par rapport au personnage du jeu et que les scénariste on prit quelques liberté.
Pas mal de fille adolescente lors de la séance, certainement parce que Tom Holland. D'ailleurs elles parlaient que de lui à la sortie du cinéma. Certainement pour ça qu'ils ont choisi cet acteur.
Les décors sont pas mal mais par moment ça fait un peu trop décors de studio comme le bois de vieux bateaux qui font un peu fake par moment.… Expand

The passage with the flying boats is nonsense, we in Uncharted not a film of SF or fantasy. Ok the Uncharted are very exaggerated but not to this point.
The actors are good but Tom Holland plays Spiderman at times and making Nate so clumsy and very annoying.
The special effects are good but there are a few not-so-great moments.
The moment in the city reaches a terrible moment with shots and actions everywhere for several minutes, and people don't react, the police never come, it's totally nonsense.
It's a very average movie and even if you take it as an action movie, it's very far from being a good action movie. A film which wanted to make Marvel but which did not succeed because not the same universe, no character known to the general public.
And they took Tom Holland for one reason...the girls. There were a lot of girls in the room, at least 70%, who were screaming at certain passages in the film. We can clearly see that the actor was chosen to bring in a female audience. And when you choose an actor for that, it's because you don't trust your film or because you knew that if you didn't, you wouldn't get as many admissions to the cinema.… Expand

Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, while not fan-favorite choices, do a good job of embodying the spirit and banter of the franchise’s two main characters, Nathan “Nate” Drake and Victor "Sully" "Goddamn" Sullivan. Uncharted is a clear service to longtime fans of the series. Taking huge inspiration from the games in one of the Uncharted series most iconic scenes. A sense of adventure along with large-scale, over-the-top, well-choreographed action sequences that some may find obnoxious but are reminiscent of their video game counterpart. A couple of emotional and goosebump-inducing callbacks to the video games including an amazing nostalgic scene with the original voice actor of Nate, Nolan North. A nod to Greg Edmonson's “Nate’s Theme” as Tom Holland’s Drake dons the iconic gun holsters. All this while also bringing a new enjoyable interpretation for newcomers to the series. While there may be some corny jokes, forgettable villains, and questionable casting choices, how director Ruben Fleischer managed to encapsulate some but not all of Uncharted’s glory into this 1 h 56-minute movie deserves some recognition. While it cannot compare to the G.O.A.T. of treasure hunter movies in Indiana Jones, it plays second fiddle pretty well. I think fans of the game along with newcomers introduced to the story of Nathan Drake through this movie will find it to be good and with hints in after-credit scenes be excited for more to come.… Expand

Both have slightly different opinions on this thing. The "Uncharted" fan in me finds this thing vacuous, basic and borderline heretical. The movie lover in me finds it decent at best, with a couple engaging set pieces and a generally straightforward, if formulaic, narrative. I don't want to give this thing a pass, but I'm also trying to mitigate the amount of fanboy sweatiness emitted by yours truly. I guess, if we were to synthesize these two mindsets, I'd say I'm simply disappointed. This could have been the start of something great, but yet again, we have to endure talk about how hard it is to adapt video games to film. Perhaps the first mistake was adapting a video game that already feels so much like a movie into a movie. Uncharted benefits quite a lot from the charisma brought by Tom Holland. Which is more than positive considering that he is the face of the film, but it's worth noting that this is basically the most important thing he can offer to this role,Uncharted benefits quite a lot from the charisma brought by Tom Holland. Which is more than positive considering that he is the face of the film, but it's worth noting that this is basically the most important thing he can offer to this role, mostly because the script doesn't give him elements to prove otherwise. It's too early to say that as an actor he doesn't have much range, but Cherry was not a good showcase for him in that regard, and in The Devil All the Time with only one scene. Robert Pattinson completely devoured him.

Uncharted is a film that tries in every way to be fun.
It tries to be expansive, it tries to be and feel really big, and even though I really didn't want to mention this, because the film doesn't have to look like the video game, the video game itself has an aura the film simply can't replicate.

I think the casting outside of Holland and Mark Wahlberg was pretty bad.
Antonio Banderas gets completely squandered as one of the villains, while Tati Gabrielle completely lacks the credits and skills to be the real villain the film required.
I was basically watching her do the same thing she did in the Sabrina show for Netflix.
Acting cheeky and seductive just doesn't cut it. Even for this story.
And Sophia Ali share's no chemistry with Holland. The main strengths of this tale lie in its action sequences, and some of them are pretty great, but they don't quite make up for its biggest gaps. The narrative feels completely made as it goes along, and while it's well known that a film like this doesn't need a big plot, you can't offer something so thin either. The problem here isn't that it doesn't offer entertainment, because it does, and for some people that will more than enough, but to me it felt like a soulless entertainment, that lacks wit, charm and spirit.
Uncharted feels empty, despite its visual spectacle. Which upon completion will leave no lasting impression.… Expand
