This is literally one of the WORST films I’ve ever seen!! I was absolutely pumped that another suicide squad was also going to be streaming on HBO max. The acting is terrible. The Shark was not a good character. Harley was OK. Peacemaker was serviceable. Deadshot was pretty good. Peacemaker is gold. Bloodsport is a solid lead roll. Harley is perfect as always. The rest fall into their rolls perfectly and the way the movie was shot was a change that felt awesome.

Way better than the 2016 version of this beloved comic franchise. It doesn't take itself too seriously and seems to be self-aware on its tone and ridiculousness. Weirdly enough, this is what I'd always have hoped to see from a 15 rated MarvelWay better than the 2016 version of this beloved comic franchise. Idris elba's character was an extremely bad dad to his daughter. And just cause he does one right thing, we are supposed to believe his daughter seems to have forgiven him for everything and is now proud of him. Characters are villains who do somethings right and continue to do somethings bad. Blood and gore excessively for no reason. Male frontal and female nudity for no reason. Jokes not funny to me personally. Even though some jokes in Deadpool made me laugh. Every character is a little crazy and off. Not for kids it has many adult topics in it. Surprised some people brought kids to theater to watch. Needless and pointless deaths for no reason, is frustrating to me. I wanted to see some characters again but their my were killed off for no reason. Maybe some people like. It was too crazy and I don't care for the characters. Waste of my 2 hours.… Expand

Just about watchable if you have a high threshold for campy 80s Chuck Norris/A Team series served up a heavy side order of flaccid dick jokes and daytime drama dialogue made up entirely of word cloud sourced cliches. Every now and again someone says the F word in a way that only serves to elevate their grown ass embarrassment at using expletives while dressed in costumes any self-respecting WWE wrestler should have serious misgivings about John Cena.

To be fair, Margot Robbie's Quinn is the highlight. This is the first time her character is shown not to be solely an attention seekingly psycho-babe, perhaps because she's got more to do and less to say she shines all the brighter for it. David Dastmalchian's Polka Dot Man is another highlight, his superhero 'powers' are more an affliction that he comes to terms with before eventually accepting them and himself for what he is.

Everything else is crud.

Idris Elba is not Will Smith. As lovely as Elba seems, on the big screen he comes across as stiff, charmless, and never feels as though he's entirely comfortable in his own skin. How someone who can be so charming and such a commanding presence in roles made for the smaller screen can feel so out of place on the big screen I've no idea. Ditto Joel Kinnaman, fantastically watchable as Holder in The Killing before buffing up to become a flex of muscle on which to hang quippy dialogue in a way that makes you question whether the character is actually smart enough to come up with it in the first place.

Viola Davis does her best as the angry boss every cop movie cop had to report to in the 80s. She nails it, which only goes to prove how many leagues above this awfulness she belongs to and should never ever stray from again. Plotwise: the bad guy is a big alien starfish which, when all is said and done, is dispatched with pointed unfussiness. So there's that. But first, endless redcoat deaths that matter not a jot to anyone must be trudged through with the same kind of relentless lack of imagination that believes everything tastes better with ketchup.

If you were hoping for something special in the visual effects you'll be left hugely disappointed. The whole thing looks like some undergrad found ALL THE BUTTONS and decided that because they were there that was enough of a good reason to dictate that they all had to be used. When you can literally see where the layers are stacked you know someone's head isn't in the game because they've got the horn for it and can't hold themselves back. The options for the scenes seem to have been: A/ CGI TF out of everything until it looks like its been shot with an instagram filter set to 150%; B/ Use whatever set is available anywhere in the 1970s for interiors as long as it's cheap and doesn't wobble too much.

Seriously makes me wonder what promise of star/studio access and/or advertising bump was given to reviewers who scored this anything above mediocre.… Expand

To be honest, the action is irrelevant at most of the places and lacks in most of the places. Initial DCEU movies had far better action sequences.
Characters are not used correctly and you will see the repetitive content almost every 10 mins. This movie's overall story is very less as compared to the last one.
Some jokes are fine but still, I have not paid to watch some jokes and 40 mins of content to a movie.
People liking Bloodsport is fine but to be honest, we don't get options to like any more characters. But I can tell you that he is no match for the Deadshot. The overall movie feels predictive and lacks the vision. 80% of the characters are not used in the correct way.

Definitely a must see! Some parts were a little too gory (even for me) but overall amazing! Harley is amazing!

Film wasn't perfect, but it has a lot of heart. Jokes fell flat but so much going on around them you don't seem to notice.
It's really nicely shot with some great performances. Strong characters. Shocking brutality! Worth a watch.

That was nothing.
The film is no better than the first failed part. Instead of hard action, we opted for a mass film that is too reminiscent of the cruel Marvel films.
There are hardly any hard scenes here but there is a lot of FSK 12 stuffThat was nothing.

Does anyone remember when movies were entertainment and didn't exist solely as a vessel to jam someone else's belief system down your throat? Me either. If I didn't know better, I would have thought this movie came out 5 years ago. If I didn't know better, I would have thought this movie came out 5 years ago. It's certainly not going to win oscars, and it shoots fast and loose on consistency, but goddamn is it FUN. I haven't had this much fun with a movie all year! No one group has to be trashed to raise another, each character is competent in their own way (except Milton, who is competent in every way), and heaven forbid some of the characters even experience growth and change their minds for the better based on new friendships and encounters. I give this movie an 8 for just how stupidly refreshing it is. James Gunn, and whoever greenlit this, thank you.… Expand

Unashamedly good. It's what movies used to be like. I didn't even miss Will Smith, Idris Elba does an EXCELLENT job. Even Margot Robbie gives her best performance as Harley Quinn.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be honest I walked into this movie ready to ridicule it and have a fun time just laughing at how bad it is. Instead I got major whip lash from the unexpected and extremely pleasant surprise of an equally hilarious, visually fun and experimental, heartfelt, and politically dark and audacious movie. The comedy is fresh and realistic, there is no good guys or bad guys, just a mess of morally ambiguous characters and the realistic twist of what is truly evil in this world....I enjoyed the shade thrown at governments. Especially the hypocrisy of American imperialism. The movie didn't shy away from making that a huge important turn in plot. Besides that the characters are treated as individuals and the sappy moments that I would normally find cheesy and irritating were treated with such caricaturic fun that.....it was effective. It didn't take itself too seriously and that let the movie drive home its message about the complexity of humans. Not your average hero nor villain movie. Very **** fun and definitely worth the watch and rarely does a sequel beat the original but as the original was so horrid....this sequel demolished it and can stand on its own as an independent movie lol I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 only bc i reserve my 10s and bc that legend weasel deserved way more screen time.… Expand

We are not Beavies and Butthead for someone to say "anus" and everyone laughs like **** This was a Marvel movie financed by WB, and what is more sad is to see that WB has decided to give up and now start hiring directors, screenwriters and actors from other companies just to feel accepted as Marvel. The worst part: Starro, being of multiple dimensions, mind control, accelerated recovery ... Killed by a crazy woman with a javelin and some rats. James Gunn blew my expectations out of the water with this one. Believe the hype, this man knows how to make movies and his take on the DCEU is incredible. Normally, DC movies have a very dry sense of humor, but this movie had me laughingJames Gunn blew my expectations out of the water with this one. Believe the hype, this man knows how to make movies and his take on the DCEU is incredible. Normally, DC movies have a very dry sense of humor, but this movie had me laughing from beginning to start. Loved every freaking character and James knows how to treat them well. Everyone got a spotlight, some very short, and they were all very heartwarming. My favorite was King Shark! Sylvester Stallone who voiced him, really gave him character.

Please watch this if you are on the fence. You will not be disappointed!… Expand

This is a movie of first takes where not surprisingly the extras get a chance to shine as terrible actors also. Even the editor gave up. Its a mess. Its a total mess. And not in a good way.… Expand

The 2nd Suicide Squad film really should have been the first, as it perfectly merges humour and action. Although there are far too many ideas, it mostly works as the team does its best to shoot its way out of every scenario.

It's very meh depending on your age. A 14 year old kid might find it interesting, but I'd tell that kid to watch Deadpool or Deadpool 2 instead. Literally most of what was in the movie was in the trailers like all the one liners, gags, etc. You always hear people say, “I feel like they gave away the entire movie in the trailers,” ex. BVS! That’s what happened here yet no ones saying that for this movie; hmm. The story was predictable, and movie was a 6/10 maybe, it was okay but not what everyone’s making it out to be like this absolutely great movie!
