The modern era has been replaced by the past and this change was, dare I say, bold. Not everyone, in my opinion, can swallow the fact that we are suddenly no longer in a modern setting with all the trappings of the past, but in the past without the Kingsman toys. Compared to the previous films, this installment is simply different and I believe it will find both its enthusiasts and haters. I was satisfied, even though I was apprehensive at first. The opening was a blast, but then there were moments that I didn't enjoy and I thought it was probably going to be a dud. Luckily it wasn't and it didn't take long and after Rasputin came on the scene, who by the way was the best character of the whole film for me, it grabbed me and didn't let go until the very end. That was great by the way and explained the origin of the series beautifully, but I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. Classically, the action didn't disappoint, which is simply superbly filmed in this series, and it's no different here. It's maybe a little weaker, but that's because as I mentioned, story-wise we're a few years ahead of the previous installments so the real nuts and bolts of the Kingsman outfit isn't here yet. Despite that, the action here is again beautifully executed, especially in one passage that I devoured and thought I wasn't even watching the Kingsman series but a proper war movie. As I mentioned before. The third installment is just different. What also changed a bit was the humor. It's there again and it's cool again, but I felt like it was in smaller doses and what definitely makes the third installment different is the overall seriousness. There are some emotional moments that may have been in the previous volumes, but they didn't take me nearly as much as they did here. The war passages had something going for them and were, for me, the best part of the entire film. To sum up. The new Kingsman went about it a little differently. He changed the time period, the characters and it changed the whole feel of the franchise. But for me, he did it right, and although I would have loved to see a modern Kingsman with Eggsy again, this was a nice change and for me, it was a good one. The only minus for me remains that the Kalinka song that was heard in the trailer wasn't in the film. For me, a good film that I recommend. Expand

I thought the movie was fun, and if you liked the first two you'll probably like this one especially if you like origin stories.

This movie was surprisingly good. Great character development, emotion, and solid writing (despite historical liberties). I liked this much more than I expected to.

Other than a weird scene in the beginning of the film that I felt had no reason to be in it, I enjoyed the film for what it was: a B WWI spy action movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like the fact the writers were not afraid to unexpectedly eliminate characters and overall making it almost unpredictable to see where the storyline was going Expand

I really liked this movie. I especially liked the villain because you don't even know who he is. Most of all I liked the performance of the actor Ralph Fiennes. I'm waiting for the next part.

Great movie that surpassed my expectations. Good change in perspective as a prequel, and certainly different from the previous 2 movies. Good character development and writing, especially considering the intertwinement of history in the film.

ten film stoi w strasznym rozkroku między komediowym stylem poprzedniczek a chęcią krytyki wobec wojny. Na plus Ralph Fiennes oraz sceny walki, na minus metraż

This is Matthew Vaughan at his best. It does belong with the earlier two movies. 8/10 for the second movie which tries to span the rest of WWI, ignoring the wrenching tone change into tragedy and loss.
Still if you love good movie making craft, lots to love here. The Blu-ray extras makes this even more obvious. King's Man would likely have made $350 million or more if not for covid.

I really enjoyed this. It was as entertaining, though in a slightly different way, as the first movie in the franchise. It was as entertaining, though in a slightly different way, as the first movie in the franchise. It’s more old school Bond film~esque with a reimagining of some of real world people and very real events. The violence was shocking occasionally and the excellent film making definitely helped to execute and lift some of these moments to a high dramatic effect.

It’s set during the events of the first world war and it uses this setting and period to perfection with the way it’s reimagined. There are a small misdirections that I didn’t see coming and with it several other interesting twists.

The acting and production are really good down to the score and costumes. The only thing that sucks is how long we had to wait for this to come out. It’s finally streaming so if you have HBO max this is definitely something you should watch, just don’t bring the kids. There’s a lot of other adult content other then violence.

Some good action scenes. Some unlogical scenes like the russian guy who heals the protagonist even he wanted to kill him (why even do such effort then?) or an animal which saves the protagonist (nobody knows why).

This movie was unfairly **** on tbh. A lot of critics expected a **** Marvel movie. It's not amazing but I appreciate it taking risks. Don't expect the first movie. Didn't people criticise the sequel for being too goofy? Ffs

Surprised at the poor ratings this has received. Found it to be quite an entertaining play on the events of WWI.
