Logik, Pacing, Charakterentwicklung und übergreifende Handlung werden für ein paar schöne Bildeinstellungen geopfert. Höchstens Popcorn-Kino, als Star Wars Hauptfilm eine Blamage.

if it wasn't called Star Wars it wasn't so bad for a do-it-yourself story, but unfortunately by adding random events and unclear ideas they ruined a Saga, swapping cinematic entertainment with a politically correct rally.

First it’s great to have J.J Abrams back in the directors chair, nothing was wrong with Ryan Johnson but with Abrams it’s a whole different beast entirely. Everything looks great all the effects are outstandingly beautiful, the whole cast is still great but it’s even better to have Harrison Ford come back as Han again I lost it in the theater. But I think the big stand out is Adam Driver aka Kylo Ren he gets so much development in the movie it’s crazy, I went from hating him to loving him. But the big thing is Palpatine and Rey that is something the fan base was not ready for and it was a great. The final battle was the best in the franchise because of all the voices of the fallen Jedi. Overall the best Star Wars movie of all time having the entire Star Wars cast from the past movies come back was amazing, go watch this now it just became available on Disney+. Expand

The action scenes were quite entertaining and at the time I was moved but the narrative did not seem the best.
This trilogy seems like the typical project that everyone does at home and at school they put it together to see what happens.

An epic ending to a legendary saga.

TROS is a rollercoaster thrill-ride that harkens back to the classic adventure films of yesteryear. While moving at a breakneck pace, this movie gets better with every re-watch.

New and old characters alike reach meaningful ends to their journeys, with many a satisfying conclusion to the various story threads.

The story rings true to the themes of the Star Wars name, and what they have represented from the very beginning: A classic tale of good vs. evil, overcoming ones own fears and doubts, overcoming destiny, and finding strength from love and unity with others.

All of this is delivered in a dynamite package of spectacle and stunning visuals. Truly a film that transports the viewer to another place.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite having some decent performances, good special effects, the occasional cool-looking fights, and the same iconic Stars Wars theme music that plays throughout, The Rise of Skywalker has many flaws that are hard to ignore; Palpatine is suddenly alive again and a threat to our heroes despite having clearly been killed in the original trilogy because...the writers ran out of interesting villains to come up with? Rey can suddenly heal injured snakes with the force now because...magic looked cool in Harry Potter? Rey and Kylo suddenly kiss at the end because...every movie needs to have some romance in it? Lots of things just happen without any viable explanation or build-up purely to shock the audience. Still, it's definitely not the worst movie I've seen (I've seen much worse). But there's not a whole lot of positive things I can say about this messy, muddled story. Expand

All the characters, except for Poe Dameron, are **** or combined. Hux, who in episode 7 was an interesting character. In episode 8, he was humiliated by In the new movie, they did it at all. Being a spy, I noticed that Disney introduces new characters without revealing them so that children buy figures. Totally *** * stupid idea, which turns out to be Palpatine's granddaughter. I wonder who slept with Palpatine, it would be nice to talk about Palpatine's love, etc. Throughout the trilogy there are lightsaber fights. Worse than in the original trilogy. The directors who were smoking at the moment. In Palpatine's empire, from somewhere, many space destroyers appeared from somewhere that could destroy the planet. Question to the idiots of the creator, how can this be done , not noticeable. I don't know for sure, but an Imperial Star Destroyer can hold 50 thousand people. There are about 30 ships, and they need engineers and builders, etc. to make them. That is, they have at least 5-10 million people How can it be left unnoticed by everyone. How did they accept the workers? were discovered, they were probably protected by the writer. How they even manage to destroy entire planets is nonsense. Now Mary Sue and Kylo have finally fallen in love with each other. Now she has learned to treat everyone, she can do anything without learning. She is a total idiot. Pa It's not at all clear how he survived. Ray easily kills him. It turns out that all Jedi of all time live in **** how it works, who is not, when the Star Wars universe cannot exist. Kylo sacrifices himself to cure the idiot. Leia died in the film. Hari Fisher's Eternal Rest, directed by Disney, will no longer use it as a graphic. This **** killed the whole Skywalker. See "Old Men Must Die." trilogy, it's a complete wear and tear of my favorite universe, so you need to **** you need to be able. In short, stupid **** stupid ****. producer, but in her old age decided to become famous (Kathleen Kennedy). I want to talk in general about the Disney canon. After Disney bought the rights to Star Wars. Declaring all the work of the expanded universe is not canon. a serious universe that began in books, comics and developed in the prequel elah and in the animated series "The Clone Wars". Where we were shown the ambiguity of the relationship between the rebels and the imperials. What freaks of the politics of the republic, empire, etc. One would wonder if there was such an evil empire? Disney decided to go back to the original trilogy with good rebels and bad imperials. They also steal characters from the old canon. For example, Kylo Ren stole the costume entirely from Darth Revan. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I first watched Rise of Skywalker, I thought it was just ok. I had seedlings of problems with the film, but they were small enough to where it didn't kill the film. However, after letting the film sit for a while and rewatching the first 8 films, those seedlings have grown into substantial issues that big the entire film down. Before I go into more detail, let me get these two things out of the way. 1: Disney clearly had no idea where this trilogy was going, and so a lot of my problems can be blamed on Disney rather than JJ or anyone else who worked on this movie. 2: I liked the Last Jedi. Not because it was an amazing movie, but because it kept me invested. The twists and turns, while maybe not the best decision for the series in the long run, made me wanna keep watching to see what happens next. The overall climax was epic in every sense of the word. The film was just interesting, which is something I cannot say about Rise of Skywalker. In short, my main problems with ROS are that it felt like a fan fiction, contradicted almost every Star Wars film, and was poorly written and boring. As stated before, it was clear Disney didn't know what they were doing, but I think JJ had a plan. I believe that JJ was setting up something with Force Awakens. However, Disney handed the wheel over to Rian, who then steered JJ's plan way off track. But, when the backlash to Last Jedi came in swinging, Disney gave the wheel back to JJ and said, "Fix this please." So, JJ used ROS to repair the damage Last Jedi caused. Which wouldn't be a problem, if that wasn't the only thing ROS felt like it did. To me, it feels like ROS leans to heavily into the "fix Rian's mistakes" camp, rather then the "conclude this trilogy well" camp. This fix it mentality is also what makes ROS feel like a fan fiction. What I mean by that, is that it seems like the whole movie was written by an upset fan after the Last Jedi. This does not bode well for the movie, as it makes the writing feel messy and not like a Star Wars movie. Speaking of Star Wars movies, this film contradicts and rejects multiple ideas from the previous movies via its most heinous addition: Emperor Palpatine lives. You see, there was this great moment in Revenge of the Sith where Palpatine tells Anakin the story of how Darth Plagueis was murdered by his apprentice. "Ironic." Palpatine says at the end of the the tale. This was a great moment because we know that Palpatine also dies to his own apprentice! Except he doesn't because ROS said so! Also the prophecy and many other lines about Anakin defeating the sith are completely butchered by this decision. Honestly, this single choice kills the movie for me now because I can't watch the first 6 films without being reminded that there lines are rendered pointless. Finally, I just thought the film was a boring string of fetch quests, which is just bad writing. I don't have as much to say about this point, it's pretty self explanatory. Overall, this film is a mess and is constantly struggling to both end this trilogy in a satisfactory way and answer fan complaints about the Last Jedi. Expand

You can summorise the "plot" with find a thing to find a thing to find a thing to get to a thing. The Emperor survived the OT, so Anakins sacrifice was for nothing, the Rebellion made no difference, all characters Star Wars Fans cared for for decades are dead, Rey is now a bigger Mary Sue, she can fly now and heal fatal wounds. Fin is still anoying and oh not to forget the Empire on steroids now has thousands of ships as powerfull as a Deathstar... that don't know where up is, not kidding they have ONE ship with a navigationtower that they need to tell how to fly vertically.
This movie feels like it was written by someone who ones saw the OT totaly drunk and wrote the script totaly drunk.

The acting was pretty bad especially from our main heroine who felt like she had the charm of a dead opossum, the non stop filming of her bland face that shows zero emotion when something happens made it even more tedious and boring to watch. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the worst thing that Star Wars has ever made as a franchise. After the good and ORIGINAL work that Ryan Johnson has made, picking the ideas that George Lucas had and turned them into his personal view (the old Luke thing was created by Lucas) and the brother-sister relationship development between Rey and Kylo was just amazing. J.J. comes back from his Episode IV with different skins and resolution and decided to trow in the trash everything that the only real author who's worked on the third trilogy did. Now Rey and Kylo are in love, the entire movie is just episode V and VI put together badly, and there is Palpatine.
I won't ever forget how the scene from episode VIII where Kylo kills Snoke was intense, he was finally capable to do what Vader didn't: being the real bad guy, who really decided what to do and with no rules. J.J. decided that he needed a new Snoke again.
The visuals are impressive but from Disney that's the minimum that I expect.
I wont linger in all the Finn and Poe scenes and the continuous second thoughts that the film mades constantly.

George after watching "The Force Awakens" said "people will like that". That's no compliment, he always went counter-current, just look at his career and the second trilogy. When the man that created the saga says the worst thing that he could ever say to describe the modus operandi of a director and you bring it back to the most important film for the saga, you know you did an error and that everything went wrong.

By far the worst Star Wars movie, and in many ways one of the worst pieces of entertainment, made by a big studio, for many decades.
Obviously, Disney has some people in charge, who are simply not capable in their jobs.
The basics of character-driven stories are something which need to be adhered to. Not understanding why, or even what they are, is something executives demonstrated when they green-lit The Last Jedi's script.
The Rise of Skywalker is the result.
Let this be a lesson to all studios and franchise custodians alike. Letting people who don't even understand the basic rules of storytelling, at a first year English student level, hold ultimate power over the story of the biggest and most valuable franchise, the world has ever created, will end badly.
It did.
Very badly.

But in a completely different way. While the previous movie, for all its story-telling issues and character assassinations, at least explored some interesting concepts (even if they never went anywhere) "TRoS" is bad in the opposite way. It tries so hard to reverse some of the issues caused by the previous film, it just makes an even bigger mess and sabotages the entire trilogy. The plot is messy and arbitrary, the characters arcs unsatisfying, the villain is...just dumb. It's hard to imagine a worse way to end a trilogy, especially a Star Wars trilogy. I was a big fan of The Force Awakens and I love most of Abrams’ work so I went in with high hopes. Coming out of the film, I was on cloud nine. From start to finish, the film had me on the edge of my seat as it whirled me around this amazing Star Wars galaxy. While I agree that this film, compared to its predecessors, has the most criticisms, I found myself realizing that some of what you hear others say should be heard with a grain of salt. At most, this film’s major problem is it’s break neck speed. From it’s first moments to its last, it barely gives you any time to breathe - or the characters for that matter. Twenty to thirty minutes would have made this movie that much better, however, all of what you need to enjoy this film IS there. Even if it’s a little fast.

In the end, for me, spending any time in a galaxy far, far away is a good time, and if you go in ready to go on an adventure - I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s not just a wonderful end to the sequel trilogy but a beautiful reminder of how special all 9 films in the saga are.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An embarrassment and insulting to the craft of cinema and the franchise started by George lucas. Nonsense, drivel, appalling story, and clear evidence of how bad JJ Abrahams is as a movie maker, it goes to show you fail upwards in hollywood once your in the club. I just hope for the sake of George Lucas’s saga that this Disney trilogy gets retconned from existence. If you want to learn how to ruin a franchise I suggest watching the Disney Star Wars trilogy, that’s its only legacy it leaves. Expand

The finale of the entire Skywalker saga is over simplified, rushed and nonsensical in execution. There are a few truly beautiful character moments, however the editing is excessively fast paced and jarring, with a final scene that defies belief. This should have been an emotional culmination of 42 years of pop culture. I wanted to leave uplifted, suffice to say I did not. The 2 stars are for Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley's performances, considering the mediocre scriptwriting.(possibly under duress.) Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Star Wars: Episode IX is the first movie I learnt of with my senses and knowledge of Star Wars intact. Just before this movie was coming I watched all the previous movies so that I could catch up before this movie came. I wasn't born until The Phantom Menace, I didn't know anything about the other movies since I used to think Star Wars is only a cartoon, then when The Force Awakens came I had my board exams going on. And The Last Jedi was getting so much hate I thought Star Wars is just another franchise being done to death like Jurassic Park or The Matrix. So overall saying, this is the first Star Wars movie that I knew how to react on when it released. And that was definitely not a good reaction.
So first of all my problem is with how "convenient" the plot twists are. How on earth are the plot twists done so badly that there doesn't seem to be anything at stake! Rey and friends are getting sucked in sand, the animal inside is friendly. C3PO's memory gets formatted, R2D2 restores it. They don't know where to go, Rey just holds her knife and COMPARES IT WITH THE SURROUNDINGS AND FINDS HER WAY!?! And no, I'm not even getting to the dozen things that happened when she had to defeat Palpatine. Nothing matters in this movie for that matter. What happened to Rey becoming evil? What happened to the rebels on the planet where C3PO's memory was formatted? They were never brought up again.
The movie completely massacred everything that Star Wars stands for. I think the problem with all the sequel movies is that they are pandering to a much, much younger generation. Anything that could have been a little too mature was probably thrown out of the window by Mickey Mouse, because then how will the little girls from Middle East have Rey dolls if she did something mature like Luke and Anakin? Palpatine came back to life only so that Rey could smash him again and show how strong and smart she is. Ben Solo died only because he was trying to save Rey for some reason, even though he has Jedi powers so he could have just moved her out of the path. No culture, lifestyle, important character, backstory - nothing happened in here. It was just picking up on the disaster that Episode VIII was.
And the worst part in the entire movie was when Rey took, or rather should I say, STOLE the Skywalker surname. What even was that scene? The way Luke and Leia were standing in the sky, they looked like her parents. The second worst for me would be the Rey and Ben kissing scene. I don't know how to say this, but Rey has a very sister-like look to her. Why would Ben ever do that? But of course, not everything is bad about Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Palpatine. Like I said before, it has a really awesome CGI, probably the best in the entire Star Wars franchise. The cinematography was also very good. The background score added to the intensity.
And the best part - it's the last movie of the sequel trilogy. Finally this thing ended. We don't have to watch any more of Rey Palpatine anymore. I'm glad I've watched every single Star Wars movie now, so I have been able to catch up with the trend and now I can talk to anyone about Star Wars whenever the topic comes up.

The Force Awakens lacked imagination but was basically enjoyable, while The Last Jedi took some risks I thought would help inject new life into the franchise. In an effort to address fan criticism of The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker tried to pretend it didn't exist. Reviving Palpatine was a terrible decision. It didn't work well in the Legends timeline, and it worked even less well in this film. The plot was a confusing mess and making Rey a self proclaimed Skywalker rubbed me the wrong way. I would prefer Disney erase the sequel trilogy from canon and try again. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Rise of Skywalker was underwhelming but not horrible. Rey is revealed to be Emperor Palpatine’s granddaughter which I thought was forced (no pun intended) and not very believable. Oh yeah, Palpatine’s back because he had himself cloned or some s**t. Kylo Ren is back and troubled as always and has some sort of forced romance with Rey which is also not very convincing. The black guy and Han Solo rip off are up to their usual hijinks and don’t really do anything notable. The visuals are the movie’s strong suit. Expand

This is my favorite Star Wars movie of all time, my 2nd favorite action movie of 2019, my 2nd favorite movie of 2019, one of my top 5 favorite action movies of all time, and one of my favorite movies of all time. The lead acting from Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Ian McDiarmid, Joonas Suotamo, Anthony Daniels, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill was exceptional. Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Greg Grunberg, Harrison Ford, Shirley Henderson, Keri Russell, Naomi Ackie, Lupita Nyong'o, Kelly Marie Tran, Billy Dee Williams, Dominic Monaghan, and Billie Lourd gave phenomenal supporting performances. The visual effects were magnificent especially in the ocean scene, the final battle scene, and the scenes with Carrie Fisher. I loved the new creature and alien species especically the the Orbaks. I loved all of the new characters especically D-O, Babu Frik, Zorli Bliss, and Jannah. The writing and story was excellent. The makeup and hairstyling was superb especically on Ian McDiarmid, Daisy Ridley, Naomi Ackie, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Kelly Marie Tran, Carrie Fisher, Billie Lourd, and Oscar Isaac. The costumes were outstanding especically on Ian McDiarmid, Joonas Suotamo, Keri Russell, Naomi Ackie, Adam Driver, Anthony Daniels, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Kelly Marie Tran. The soundtrack was stupendous. Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker was so much better than I could have imagined and was a A+ movie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It will be very good film if it wasn't a Star Wars film. I think that this film has no respect to old Star Wars characters like Look, Anakin and Obi-Wan. I think like that because all the jedis can't defeat the dark side except Look. (We learned that he can not defeat the darkside in the 7. movie) And a girl who has only few years of jedi education can kill defeat the dark side. İs it fair? Look, Anakin and Obi-Wan's life started with education and ended
with education. İn my opinion the story ends at 6. film. I'll give 3 because it is a good movie when u didn't think that it is Star Wars. If you had a plan like watching Star Wars, do not watch 7. 8. and 9. movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Were they not as good as the original trilogy? Of course but I think it is safe to say that it will take ALOT for those movies to be topped. However I went into The Rise Of Skywalker with a bit of a small expectation. I knew the movie was not going to be fantastic but the way this movie was advertised as the "Finale to the Skywalker Saga" gave me somewhat a BIT of hope. Instead, What I feel we got was two separate movies rolled together into one. The first half seemed to be "Damage Control" to the previous movie (By this I mean trying to fix what people were not happy about) and the second half felt more like a rush to get to the end. It is a shame because so many people are invested into this story as they have fond memories of it from childhood. That's not to say the movie is terrible as I don't think it is but it is easily the worst in the sequel trilogy (In my opinion) It felt like there was no main story flowing through these movies but instead different ideas just thrown in together and putting the "Star Wars" Name on it to make some money. Whilst still serviceable, 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' disappointed me - it makes for a relatively limp finish to the sequel trilogy.

The plot is the biggest letdown. It's all over the place, it might have a good amount of action but the actual point of the film is uninteresting and feels like something we've seen before. The cast still do well amongst all that, but I can't say I'll remember a performance from this.

With that said, Daisy Ridley is the best thing about it. Adam Driver is fine, but his character doesn't interest me much at this point. John Boyega and Oscar Isaac felt underused, while Kelly Marie Tran is discarded almost completely. Richard E. Grant is a slight upgrade on Domhnall Gleeson, but not by much.

A shorter run time may have helped this, instead it feels kinda bloated and without much reasoning to be so. I don't dislike it, it's still just about what I'd describe as good, but given it's part of 'Star Wars' it should've been far greater - in my opinion, at least.

Abrams returned to Episode IX, who was already in charge of Episode VII, which he succeeded in because he went to safety. This is no longer the case with Episode IX, and unfortunately he didn't quite succeed here. Overall, the story is a bit like Episode VI, but that's not quite a problem. I don't want to spoiler, but the main problem here is mainly how bad some scenes are. The characters are already dead all of a sudden, and overall it doesn't work and it's not exactly the best story. The effects are excellent, as always with Star Wars movies and music as well, and in the end it's a good movie, but it doesn't end the saga very well. After the amazing Episode VII, which copied Episode IV, and the excellent Episode VIII, which came up with something completely new, here we have Episode IX, which throws dirt on the Star Wars trilogy and destroyed everything it built over the years. Unfortunately, I still have to hold the opinion that Episode VII should never have occurred. Expand

She's just the bestest-ever! And bringing back Palpatine is just absolutely ridiculous! It makes Vader/Anakin's sacrifice in ROTJ pointless! I'm glad I watched all three of these terrible movies, because now I don't ever have to watch them again. Thanks for nothing JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy. Expand

This movie would probably be the worst one if the effects weren't so goddam good. The dialogue feels like they're only talking to move the plot forward.

Pros
- return of ben solo
- the gang is finally all together
- the inclusion of the knights of ren
- sith troopers look cool
- death star ii wreckage scene was interesting and kylo's han solo vision was a nice surprise
- rey and kylo's duel on kijimi was a good use of their force connection
- flashback of Luke and Leia training was cool

Cons
-return of the emperor ruins the satisfying ending of episode 6
- the idea of all the good guys vs all the bad guys is handled poorly
- giving every star destroyer a death star is stupid and doesn't feel like a natural evolution in this universe
- Leia's death feels unearned (not their fault though)
- maz kanata is under used
- lando's inclusion feels like a favor rather than something to drive the plot forward
- chewies fake death was dumb and it was clear that he was on the other troop carrier
- ben solo's death felt unearned and unrequired
- who were the people watching the emperor and rey fight??

This movie felt like a **** prequel movie. Is this what you wanted, last jedi haters?? Are you happy with this **** show??? How does jj abram's cum taste???

The revelations made in this movie are nothing short of comical. Be it Rey's lineage, Leia's Jedi training or the cringe-inducing re-emergence of Palpatine, everything is just wrong and poorly executed.
I don't hold Disney responsible. Its the writers and director.
I'm genuinely saddened by how this turned out, it could have been amazing. Why not let Rey take the throne and throw the galaxy into chaos, why make the "Big Bad" the same guy from the parts I through VI? Its just lazy, its safe and its lazy.
I'm glad I finally got around to watching it but it was a massive let down in every way you can possibly imagine.

I’d like to give it higher as they really tried to right the wrongs of episode 8 but that would be impossible. For that it gets a 7 and the sequels without episode 8 are at the least watchable and at best pretty good. Unfortunately with episode 8 they are just pure garbage. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy where do I begin? This is a terrible movie somehow I rated Matrix Revolutions higher than this. Let's get started:

1) Palpatine What was the point in bringing him back, no explanation except: Somehow Palpatine returned. That is actually a line of dialogue in the movie. 2) Retconing TLJ
Now I absolutely loved TLJ and Rian Johnson direction with the franchise and we get no explanation why it is no longer canon it just is by the time the film begins. Everything in TLJ is just thrown away for the sake of crybaby fanboys who didn't like Luke in TLJ and a whole mess of fan service. 3) Kylo Ren TLJ gave us an amazing arc for Kylo Ren killing Snoke off proclaiming he's done with having a master, becoming free from any judgment by an authority figure was all great and what do they decide to do with that storyline? NOTHING, absolutely nothing. His master is now Palpatine all the story built from TLJ is all gone!

4) Fan Service Earlier I said that this film was full of unnecessary Fan Service, let's get started:
-Luke's character in TLJ is gone
-The Death Star is somehow in great shape -Han is back
-Lando is back with no explanation -TLJ is gone from Canon (Biggest fan service of them all)
-Rey is a Skywalker -And a whole lot more

5) The Ending At the end of the movie Rey goes back to Tatooine where Luke and Anakin were raised with Anakin/Luke and Leia's lightsaber in her hand and buries the lightsabers IN THE SAND that's right she buries the lightsabers in the SAND on the planet that they hated in the thing Anakin hated the most! Basically Rey gave a middle finger to Anakin and Luke and then she says she is a Skywalker!!! WTH!!!

6) J J Abrams Oh man J J Abrams one of my favorite directors (I'm being sarcastic) the man single handedly destroyed the two biggest space franchises in just 10 years. 10 YEARS!! That's got to be a world record. 7) This is the ending to Star Wars
Return of the Jedi was a triumphant ending to the original trilogy and 6 film saga, sure it fell short on The Empire Strikes Back but it still was a good film this however is a frustrating and terrible ending to a 40 Year franchise. There is no payoff at the end and it ultimately feels like a Disney crapped in the franchise right before our eyes. Truly disappointing ending and a disgrace to this once wonderful franchise
