Although, I think they truly missed a real opportunity for making a movie worth being worshiped. Just a little more of plot, a simple one, could have made that differece

Negative reviews seem to be limited to 2 camps. Dudes that question their sexuality and therefore can't stand to see any woman in an action movie that isn't completely hopeless or those that thought they were seeing a masterpiece theater show and walked into the wrong screening. Was Alien a bad movie because it had a strong female character and flamethrowers? Max is still clearly the biggest badass around and if you need more character development watch the first 3 movies so you know his story.
Shiny and Chrome all the way through!!!

People really wanted to go to a serious movie, with a serious plot, containing realism. Are you kidding me? It's like going to a Tarantino movie and expecting meditations on life or a deeply philosophical movie. It's cinema. It's art. Visual art. That is what "Mad Max: Fury Road" is. Art. Visual art. The characters are not bad for a movie that, at its core, is clearly an action movie. I mean take this movie and compare it with "Furious 7". It's like comparing Hemingway ("MM:FR") with children's books ("F7").

People don't know how to take things just how they are and interpret when necessary, not all the time. Some movies are just here to watch them, shut up, go home and think "oh, that George Miller guy just pulled off one of the greatest action movies ever". Yes, this movie makes the Marvel universe and the Fast & Furious franchise look inept for a lack of a better word.

Really loved the movie. If you like movies, you should go. If you like feel good stories, you shouldn't go.

I expected a train wreck, didn't get one - Mad Max: Fury Road does the hi-octane stuff right, not dwelling on individual scenes a la "explosion porn" like Michael Bay does in his abortion of a franchise that is Transformers. Every shot here has a purpose, yet you see entire set pieces for just two seconds before the film moves on - and that's a good thing. The focus here is on art direction first and foremost, not "things that go boom".

Yet the movie does have faults. For one, the fast pace comes at the expense of character development - Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron do a good job of holding it together, but you don't feel invested in the characters as such; so much so that the lasting impression is of fine acting stretched thin. As said, the movies strengths overshadow this weakness - fantastic camera work, art direction, action and set pieces.

As a Spring/Summer blockbuster, it does its' job - it's a movie where you sit in front of it, it entertains from start to finish, and you go home happy. As long as you aren't expecting true depth and you're happy with (admittedly well done) CGI, you'll like this.

This is an excellent action film, plain and simple.

The plot is straightforward and short on dialogue, which works very well considering this film is driven by non-stop action and amazing visuals.

Post-apocalyptic Australia looks like a different planet, and there are so many gorgeous shots in the film, like the giant sand storm sequence, and Immortan Joe's fortress.

In addition, the setting and the costumes are imaginative, and the movie does a great job of creating a unique society that blends different elements like Norse Mythology and warrior culture.

And to top it all off you have an intimidating villain.

Mad Max: Fury Road is quite impressive; I would go so far as to call it close to a miracle.

I almost never see, rather than review, movies in this genre, as its not my thing. But, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Mad Max was pretty good, and it paid homage to its Gibson-esque prequels. The film works on almost every level: as a comic book movie, as an action flick, as a character study, and much more. Also, it has beautiful cinematography and performances to burn; some of the CGI was almost as good as in the 2009 movie "Avatar", I dare to say. It was a really well done movie overall, that will satisfy almost any viewer, and I highly recommend the experience.

We waited 30 damn years for this sequel, God it was worth it. These films aren't big on story or character development, but I think it's more the idea of the series. You have to get lost in these films like the other characters are. You'll understand why they have do the things they do in this terrible, post-apocalyptic world, and have a good time while you're at it.

That being said, Mad Max: Fury Road is just as absurd, bizarre, unique, and... well... mad. Tom Hardy gives a funny and great performance as Max, he's a great addition to the series and a good replacement for Mel Gibson(who had a quick cameo). Charlize Theron is also cool, but I think Nicholas Hoult was far more interesting. He absolutely disappeared under the white makeup and surprised me of how much effort he was putting into this performance. I love seeing George Miller expand on his universe and really show us just how screwy the future could be if society truly would fall apart. The bigger budget makes this movie look and sound amazing, and somehow, it still contains the same feel as the first two Mad Max films("Beyond Thunderdome" kinda got bland).

I look forward to future installments. Continue expanding this world, George Miller. Take all my money.

Sure, the action is breathlessly rousing and the imagery is quite beautiful, and there's a lot of narrative thrills to be had, but I think they should have fleshed out some characters further. Characters like Furiosa. Her past is questionably underdeveloped and that bugged me a little bit. Not the best movie of 2015, but surely a great one. I'm not a fan of the "Mad Max" franchise (the first movie didn't do much for me to elevate my excitement), but this was a nice film with some fun action and nice performances.

Final Score: 8/10.

Mostly every character is flushed out and the action doesn't slow the movie down. The movie does take it's time to really get into the story, and that's a good thing. It introduces us to the world and characters Max will be interacting with. Furiosa is a very well rounded character and isn't just put in there to make the feminist crowed happy. George Miller wanted to create a believable character that happened to be a woman, not the other way around. She was defiantly treated as a person first and a woman second. The only complaint I have for the movie is that I would have liked for the main villain to have been more flushed out, but he isn't as bad as some movie villains these days. Everyone had a reason for being there, and the story works well because of it. All and all, Mad Max: Fury Road, will leave you satisfied while wanting more. 9/10. Expand

And with 'action' and few words it manages to show us a completely fleshed out, deep and believable world. If fiction requires the suspension of disbelief on the part of the viewer, then it has failed... it is fiction's job to take us there, and this does, making the insane seem perfectly sensible. Expand

The original Mad Max was uniquely odd and the second film, if memory serves correctly, was exciting if a tad more conventional. Beyond Thunderdome was just a disaster. A copper bottomed clinker that had Tina Turner appear for novelty value in addition to a load of dishevelled snotty nosed brats. This combination ensured thatt the turn off was complete. Thankfully, Fury Road is considerably better than that debacle, but is some way behind the earlier two instalments and is certainly not worthy of the euphoric reviews and praise that have been heaped upon it by both the critics and public, singing in unison for once it would appear. Production values are sound and it must be said that visually the film is an absolute delight. John Seale’s cinematic compositions for day and night are constantly impressive and there is one corker of a moment when what looks like a sand dune suddenly metamorphosis’s into Max (Tom Hardy). There is also much stylisation in the battle scenes with jump cuts adding immeasurably to the impact and editing that moves along at the rate of knots. The sound is another strong plus and whilst there is plenty of appropriate menace in the score one is unprepared for just how beautiful the music is here.
So what’s wrong with it? Well, unfortunately, the story is as light as a feather. This is basically just a two hour chase movie and only the most dedicated Max fans will not be tempted to give in to the unerring crash, bang, and wallop pointlessness of it all, despite the many technical strengths on display. Of the actors, Charlize Theron is really rather good in a role that is a million miles away from anything she has ever done before. Nicholas Hoult, unrecognisable under impressive make-up, is ok, but the weakest of the three leads. I use the term ‘lead’ loosely as Tom Hardy’s Max seems to be relegated to a supporting role here, even if the actor turns in another one of his customarily good performances. There is no doubting that Hardy is a better actor than Gibson, but for my money Max 1 and 2 remain the yardsticks by which the other films should be judged.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I dislike the cinema. A lot. A'holes stuffing their faces with giant bags of crisps - mobile phones - people talking - like jeez you fat-assed loudmouth can you not go for 2 hours without eating something? - Unreal. But much as I dislike the overpriced cinematic experience I decided with this movie It was must see on the big screen. Boy was I wrong. But first things first...

The main protagonist says next to nothing for the entire movie, in fact for a lot of it he is basically helpless. A lot has been made about the whole 'feminist over current' which runs throughout the movie. For me it wasn't that big a deal as this is essentially a science fiction. In fact it becomes laughable towards the end of the movie when the dessert dwelling motorcycle gang remove their helmets and WHOA! - what a surprise! - they are octogenarian gun-wielding badass grannies!! One of them manages to almost spit every time she uses the word 'man' or 'men', trust me proper feminists would be rolling their eyes at this hammy, gratuitous, matronising scripting.

As for the core of the movie itself, like others have said its basically one big car chase. I knew it would be, so no big surprise there, but I had 2 problems with this. The first was the speed of the action. The action sequences are happening so bloody quickly that you will struggle to take it all in. At some points you will even lose track of who is who particularly on the bonnet / roof / trailer fight scenes. It's a visual assault, but its just too much on a cinema screen - I reckon it will be better on a 42" or 50" lcd.

The other thing is the pace of the car chases. The old ‘speed up the film’ trick is used to convey a sense of breakneck speed during the chases but as soon as a realtime stunt is performed everything noticeably slows down, the car that flips around and drives in reverse being one example - its like one minute they are doing 110mph and next its 40mph then back to 110mph again.

Also, when Max stops the gang on the Salt Plain and suggests they turn around and go back towards the enemy that has been trying to kill them for the past 2 hours they all agree a bit too easily for my liking, even the old femme-warrior bats, just another suspend belief moment I guess.

On the positive side the setting, vehicles, wardrobe dept all nailed it. I was sort of reminded of that game called RAGE from a few years back in terms of the overall design theme.

To summarise Mad Max: Fury Road is definitely worth seeing because as an action movie it delivers in spades. I just hope that the director has satisfied his desire to placate the marauding feminist hordes and that the next movie is closer to the ethos of the original and it’s sequel.

It's a 2 hour long car chase ... that's it. There's barely a plot to speak with, what plot there is makes no sense because there is no backstory. There's no reason for us to care about ANY of these characters: we don't know who any of them are or why they matter. The reasons behind the entire chase ... which is the majority of the film... are barely touched upon. I had to google to find out who Immortan Joe was, the breeders, the chroming, literally everything in the film because NONE of it was explained. This is what passes for a film now. Zero story, no character development, but if you throw in a whole lot of the right kind of action people just go nuts for it. I'm seeing critics giving this film bonus points for not doing all the effects using CGI. Whatever happened to writing guys? Script? Plot? Dialogue? Do these things mean nothing anymore? People call it the best film of the year: why? How does this movie possibly merit praise that high? Are we seriously such a low attention-span country that now even our critics can't be expected to hold cinema to any bars save good special effects, cool costumes, and "colorful characters"? I'm so disappointed. Expand

Is it an LA freeway or an apocalyptic nightmare or just miles and miles of high octane road rage?
Doesn’t matter? “Fury” should be seen and not heard with spectacular action sequences and psychedelic landscapes reminiscent of Ben-Hur and Lawrence of Arabia. A polygamous water czar is hellbent on capturing a renegade warrior who goes off the beaten path with his precious cargo- and well, Mad Max goes along for the ride. Yet thirty minutes into this film - we’re riding on empty for any movie goer driven by plot, character and dialogue . Miller’s reboot revs its' engines but ends up going in circles.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I must have seen a totally different movie than the rest of the critics and reviewers. This was a movie full of cars, gun-fights, and explosions that somehow manages to be boring. The script feels like the first draft for an undergraduate screenwriting class, with Max uttering little more than a few grunts throughout the full two hours, a plan that flies in the face of all the rules for the universe that have already been set, and religious zealots who turn to celebrate the people who killed their messiah. Throw in some sloppy editing and bad pacing and this was ultimately a forgettable film.

Blowing the rocks in the mountain pass already proved to be little more than a temporary road block the first time, yet it is somehow a permanent solution to keeping out the war boys on the return trip. Watching Max try to convince Furiosa that this was a good idea was hilariously painful, especially once you realize that driving 160 days in any direction anywhere on Earth will eventually get you to an ocean, and that no motorcycle could possibly carry enough fuel for that kind of trip.

Nux is somehow converted from his lifetime of religious indoctrination in the course of two minutes, as are all of Immortan Joe's sycophants at the end. They are supposed to believe him as a holy messiah, yet they decide to serve his killers...?

The action was very good for the first half, but gets tiresome about the time that they start flipping people around on poles. The fight choreography starts to get very familiar and the war-rig has already proven completely immune to any kind of damage despite what must have been at least thirty different explosions.

On the point that everyone seems to have latched on to, the idea that this is a feminist film, is completely absurd. The takeaway here is that you matter if you're a young and attractive woman, but if you're old or undesirable then you're just another redshirt killed off without a second's thought. Throughout the whole movie, Joe's pretty wives literally sit in the back seat being completely useless as bad guys crawl up and attack Max from the back or stab Furiosa in the side. This is not Katniss Everdeen finding the strength to save her family and friends. With the exception of Charlize Theron's ass-kicking character the film's central message is nauseatingly regressive "if you're young and attractive then someone will come and save you, and the audience doesn't care one whit if anyone else dies in the process." It is mind-boggling how anyone saw this movie as empowering.

If you like action, have a thing for vehicular mayhem, and enjoy the fallout/rage/borderlands wasteland settings, this is for you. Expand

It perfects the art, and delivers two hours of nonstop action, whilst still conveying a captivating story and fitting in both strong male and female roles without fuss or attention drawn to any of these facts. It's just there for the audience to witness. The old technique of 'show, don't tell' is thought of brilliantly in the film. Every frame can tell a different story of the world beyond what we already know. There's no way to praise this film enough: George Miller managed to create a masterpiece here. Expand

Mad Max: Fury Road makes zombie flick Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead seem like the Casablanca of the 21st century. And most of all it reveals the Academy Awards to be a sad, pathetic joke.

Mad Max: Fury Road isn't so much a film as a music video, as it has lots of choreography and hardly any story worth notice.

To be fair the plot picked up in the last hour as we saw the dynamic between the ladies as well as Furiosa and Max. Good car chase, funny dialogue in patches-Fury Road is neither a masterpiece nor a disaster, a solid action flick with a few breathtaking moments

I need a script, this takes the final chase from The Road Warrior and makes it a movie. Charlize Theron is always amazing, but there is zero character development for any character. The stunts are good but corny, the editing is probably the best part. Tom Hardy is no Mel Gibson. It is too corny, they shoehorn in contemporary feminist angles the best way Hollywood knows how-a tanker full of breast milk? Bruckheimer must have had a hand. The vehicles look like doodles on the back of a high schoolers' notepad or knockoff bumper stickers. I miss the crazy homosexual dude in assless chaps, mad about his boy toy getting lobotomized by a feral kid with a boomerang. Now that was a good script. Expand

This film oozes suspense, tension, action, insanity and at-the-edge-of-your-seat entertainment. The genius mind behind this film, i.e. George Miller's, is one I am endlessly thankful for; finding a man with an imagination like his is one in a million. Tom Hardy and Charlize Theoron put on strong performances however, Nicholas Hoult takes the cake for best performance in my opinion. Every single second in this film is gripping. But then, it starting to get interesting, to this apocalyptic perspective of the future was added a completely different and surprising reality, and a good bonus of the great action scenes. We must not forget the movie photography, I was impressed. Suddenly the movie ends. Just like that, with no punch story, no consistent ending, it missed a lot. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What an awful movie, I've seen terrible movies before, but this one it's definitely in my Top 10 worst movies I've seen. It's just a car chase, they leave the first place, to another, running away from the bad guy, then the other place it's not what they remembered and they're disappointed, they come back to the start and kill the bad guy in the process. Almost no dialogue, the unnecessary guitar player in every other take, and that's it, Mad Max does almost nothing, he just shows up and says nothing for the entire movie. Ah, and some pregnant girls appear. I don't see why for people it's the best movie ever. Just because a movie has a car chase, lots of guns and lots of crazy people in it, doesn't make it a great movie, let alone a decent movie, just awful and with no significant story line whatsoever. Miller gives us a crazy take on the post-apocalyptic world. His vision is twisted, violent, and at times quite humorous. It's a very stylistic film. Unfortunately I couldn't find too much substance backing it up.

The story and characters are rather shallow. Both just serve as vehicle for the action while giving us something and some people to root for. That's wouldn't really be too much of a bad thing had it delivered a little bit more in that department. Miller certainly does has a particular flair to his action scenes, but they are far from the mind-blowing spectacles so many would have us believe. What we get here is mildly entertaining at best.

The world this movie inhabits has a certain hideous beauty to it. It's just a shame it isn't filled with much compelling content. Performances are solid, but these actors aren't playing fleshed out characters and they aren't really given much to say. The story is a simple set up for big action-packed spectacle that never arrives. What we get is a mildly entertaining but ultimately disappointing action flick that doesn't deliver much. It's a case of a lot of flash and not much bang. It's not as "mad" as we were led to believe.

It's a movie about survival, in Miller's beautiful visualized post-apocalyptic world. This really is a great refreshment to all the other so called "action movies" nowadays.

It's a crazy ride of insane, realistic and unique action at a grand scale. It got its classic moments with many references to the previous films, especially when it comes to the cinematography and the visual effects; which all are stunning! It's beautifully shot, the plot is extremely entertaining and the best aspect is the surprises throughout the film, so many crazy ones! This truly is an epic post-apocalyptic film, and it really is my favorite movie so far of 2015.

It's a bit overrated though, due to lack of long term entertainment when it comes to the action-sequences, but also because the movie didn't fit me to a 100 %. Everything else though; is EPIC! Wonderful and touching music, great characters, chemistry, spectacular action at a massive scale and a villain so great, and so terrifying and mysterious that he might be one of the best I've seen! The movie did satisfy my expectations, but it's a bit overrated.

The movie has EVERYTHING and is a blast. I'm not old enough to have grown up with the other Mad Max series, but I can tell you that this is as original as it gets for my generation, so great to see a movie that was completely different from the factory-line superhero drivel hollywood keeps pumping out.

Only downside, Max hardly has any dialogue, but it sort of goes nicely with his character.

Mad Max Fury Road is by far the best movie of the year and one of the best movies in history of cinema. An insane movie filled with amazing looking action, great acting and overall very intense. This movie has it all.
Everything about the way that the action is directed is perfect, all the time the main character is in danger and you never know how it will end. There's a guy playing the guitar during all the action, that's just freaking insane.
Tom Hardy does such an amazing job here,he fits on the movie perfectly and Charlize Theron is also very very good on the role. Also there's a certain amount of heart to the characters that makes you love them even more. It's not just brainless action,it makes sense and it's done beautifully.
George Miller is back to show us how to do action in the best way possible. He built this movie in practical effects and I appreciate that even more.Cars flipping and real explosion over the top makes the movie even more insane.
I really can't think of a negative about this movie so I'm definitely going to give it a perfect 5/5 rating and deservedly so.

Movie of the year so far (as of June) !
The editing style can be weird at time, but it is an artistic choice (and not a way to conceal bad acting or camera work) : a lot of speed up during action scene.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the focus is not enterely on Mad Max, and I would even say the main character is played by Charlize Theron.
Also, most of the movie is race scenes, but the story and characters are still develop through out the film : mostly by the action and reaction from each characters.
The acting is great for every actor, proving the director knows what he is doing. Thumbs up for Tom Hardy for sharing the emotions and reactions with mostly is eyes and facial expressions.
Plus, the sound design and the cinematography are exceptionals : similar to a Sergio Leone production (close-ups to see the face of the actors in-between large shots where it is possible to see all the action on screen, lengthy beautiful sequences, few dialogues, adventure driven story telling, ...).
The world is amazingly large and detailed making something fresh and interesting within a postapocalyptic desert.

I'm glad to see a movie these days with a authentic art that's used in movies but now dying out of the industry. And in the coming years, this movie will become a classic like the first Mad Max.

Great direction, and beautiful action that George Miller was never able to do in the 80s. - I just do not understand these haters. Explain to me please

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good Guys: So here's the plan. We're going to face them head on, instead of going around, even though it would be infinitely easier to go around. Then, we'll take over the city and not worry at all about the hundreds of still-living bad guys that are slightly delayed by the rocks we left in our wake.

Bad Guys: So, here's the plan. We're going to give everyone guns, except the guys hanging from posts that are going to get closest to the people we want to kill.

Maybe I'm a pain in the ass, but it's this kind of stuff that really takes me out of a film. You create this whole beautiful, fictional world and then make the inhabitants of that world borderline retarded. You can do better.

If you make a conscious decision to turn your brain off, there's enough here to keep you mildly entertained. But there are definitely better alternatives.

Level of detail on the cars and locations-Beautiful! Side characters motivations and personalities were good.I could even understand the background of the villain and I'd be mad too if my pregnant woman was taken.
However the biggest flaw to the movie was the main character. I don't remember Mel ever being boring or as silent as this max. Granted that actor isn't know for dialogue in movies in my opinion, but okay. But it seems to me putting a mask on him at least gave him a reason for his silence - he must have forgot they took it off.
Overall I never felt a connection for max other than a nostalgic one and by the midway mark I was waiting for him to be more of a hero like the women in the movie were being. Nice work on that!
The cars had so much detail but I almost felt like I only got glimpses of that detail and all the fun ideas.
More than decent action movie but could've been more engaged to story.

To the same **** who said it had no story, this movie is focused on CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, not the story (and character development is always weak on ACTION movies that try to have a story).

Everything this movie TRIES to do is perfect: The character development, the sociology, the action, the insanity, the violence, the redemption and survival dramas, the social critics, the critics to religion fanatism and the feminism, so I can only give it a 10. If you didn't see what I just mentioned in the movie, watch it one more time, but paying closer attention. Come on, you are not a retard, you can think a little bit by yourself.

It is all the worse because I consider the first two films in the installment classics; especially Road Warrior. These films had a visceral emotion that, in retrospect, I had no right to expect from anything made with today's technology. What is strikingly shocking is that this film does offer some "real" stunts...but they're worthless unless you appreciate them in a vacuum. The movie is a complete mess: Max is a eunuch, unable to muster even a single moment of greatness, a single line of dialogue worth remembering, or even a reason to pull for him. The rest of the characters are completely lacking of development; and women are either used and abused, or superheroes (how, we don't know) that have survived in the wasteland...waiting for what? Charize to come along and lead them? It's absolute garbage, that leads to nowhere..over and over again. Watch a real movie: Road Warrior, The Good the Bad and The Ugly; hell, watch El Mariachi (I'm serious)....and have fun with two+hours of your life. Expand

If anyone says they like this movie, then I'm sorry but I ain't listening to any other movie critiques you have. There's no tension, over-dramatic characters that turn into white noise after a few minutes, and the slowest plot development I've ever seen in a movie, it takes more than half the movie to even know what the hell is going on and whose side you should even be on. I hate this movie with a passion but props to the low-standard individuals who found some enjoyment out of it. Expand

It's feminist **** said to the fullest meaning. This movie is only great for the first 30 minutes until the "plot" kicks in and you see it as just a shameless Liberal Feminist film which it is and it tries to hide it with violent action but the action fails also. Bad guys fall like dominoes, the "good guys" have some sort of invincibility force field around them. It was just a bad movie, I'm not sure why critics are praising it's plot is it new? no is it predictable? yes! Seems like a movie made for Call of Duty players generic action and the protagonist is so underdeveloped at the first start I felt bad for him cause he was in pain but minutes later I couldn't care any less what happened to him cause he was just the generic-action protagonist along with the generic "beautiful girls" (who I thought were cliche and overdone) The whole movie just falls apart. Mad Max has been ruined by Feminism. Most of the movie doesn't even have any meaningful plot it's all just "OH LOOK EXPLOSIONS COOL!" "THAT GUY GOT SHOT AWESOME" kind of narration that drives the entire film and I wish I was exaggerating. It's like Twisted Metal but in movie form and the special effects sometimes were irritating. I couldn't feel like the protagonists were endanger at all because of how under powered the other guys were. I hope if there is a sequel it abandons this feminist-action hybrid formula and just focuses on action with an actual story and not old concepts added into a new adventure like this one did. Expand

Literal trash.

If it's supposed to be feminist film it does a bad job at portraying a feminist vision. You got enslaved women who are purposely impregnated just to have a source of food (milk) that never get freed, sex slaves that get freed only to go somewhere to be forced to partake in "divine femininity", and a Mary Sue tough as nails character they just exists to gain a female audience.

I'm sorry but that is far from a feminist film.

I will not even say the director of photography was that good either, there are no memorable scenes other than the hypocritical garbage I've talked about.

Dune Chapter 1 is ACTUALLY a visually impressive film albeit poorly written because it's broken up in parts and unwatchable without the full story, but you get my drift.

I am uncertain what exactly to rate Mad Max Fury Road, it's a bad film for me. Action is serviceable, but nothing great. I have seen far worse films though, so this review must be higher than other garbage.

This is truly the greatest movie of all time. I wish I was joking, that this "silly" action movie full of explosions, this two-hour car chase, this movie so ripe with violent hyperbole and rusted metal, is somehow the greatest movie ever made, but it is. It may not have the most thought provoking plot, the most mind bending twists, or the most intricately crafted story. However, when you go to see a movie, you come in with some expectation of what you are about to see. I didn't expect that with this movie. This movie showed me something different, that there is a different way. There is a different way to make movies where artistry and orchestration of a million tons of steel and a trillion tons of sand can combine to tell a story on its own. Where absolutely no camera shots or words are wasted. Where every single frame plays together to create a masterpiece of visual and active story telling. Where every second of dead air hangs thick with anticipation. This movie is a circus; George Miller is laughing as he takes apart expectation and he shreds action movie tropes, only to have something truly original and important come out the other side. The most original, daring, and inventive movie in 30 years is an installment in a 30-year-old franchise. That is the cosmic irony and beautiful existence of Mad Max: Fury Road. I can not comprehend a better movie than this. It is exactly what I have always wanted. Expand

What you won't expect is just what a balls to the wall, non stop action packed thrill ride this has turned out to be.
