Anyway, having said that, I enjoyed this one. Chris Pratt was very good in it and so was Bryce Dallas Howard. There were, of course, a few flaws: There's this thing where the kids' parents are getting divorced that doesn't have any relevance to the plot, the ending line fell flat and-the most ridiculous thing-how on earth was Bryce Dallas Howard able to outrun a friggin' T-Rex in HIGH HEELS? But, problems aside, the movie delivered just what I wanted-people running for their lives while getting chased by dinosaurs. I don't know how it compares to the first movie but it's an entertaining film all the same. Expand

Visually amazing and an exciting apocalyptic adventure that will leave you amazed. If you aren't watching it in 3D, you are watching it wrong. I saw this movie at a dine-in AMC theater which was really nice!

Fallen Kingdom which I've seen in cinema and thought it was good and thinking that it is the same thing The Lost World and then they're making a sixth and last film and the Jurassic Park and World franchise is finally wrapped up. The story, I don't know how to say it, is the same thing as the original but doing it in a different way but you know what? It really works. Chris Pratt is really good in this since he starred and gained his fame in Guardians of the Galaxy. The park called Jurassic Park is created by John Hammond and then it's recreated into a new park called Jurassic World. Like I before, the dinosaurs are the best thing about it and one of them which is an Indominus rex escapes and goes on a rampage. BD Wong returns as Dr. Henry Wu, Lex and Tim are two grandchildren from the original and now it's the two boys called Zach and Gray. They're not annoying like I said in the original Jurassic Park. And there's is one thing that is important for the fans and that is the Tyrannosaurus rex appearing and fighting the Indominus. The best part about it is the end and it is all in sequence. Jurassic World is a fantastic popcorn thrilling blockbuster with good visuals which are not as good as the original but still good but the film has it's flaws because the story has the same elements from the original. Jurassic World is not as good as the Jurassic Park but everything about it it just impossible to hate and it made billions of dollars. The Jurassic Park films are fantastic. But the third film is not as good and it's hit and miss for people but I don't mind it. Jurassic World is the best film of 2015 and it feels like **** Valley. Expand

In no way is Jurassic World better than the original. Not that it was ever going to be, but still.

Jurassic World was a risky movie, as it could evidently derail the entire franchise as a whole and make it sink into cinema history. And yes, I'll admit, it was very sloppy and stupid at points. However, there's just something about Jurassic World that is appealing to any Jurassic Park fan like myself, as it does, on occasion, slip some great homage to the original.

The cast does great and are perfectly cast in their roles, especially Chris Pratt at the head of the main cast. The special effects are terrific, and that end fight scene for all those who saw it... you just have to admit that was awesome.

The kids' story in the movie is a bit rushed and convoluted, basically just being thrown in there so the film can squeak another twenty minutes of run-time. But it doesn't matter that much in the overall context and outcome of the plot.

It's a fun, exciting, even if oddly dumb popcorn flick, and that's exactly what it needed to be.

This is also a continuation of the trilogy Jurassic Park. In the previous Jurassic Park, the park was never able to open to the public because of the lack containment of the animals. This year in Jurassic World, the park has been authorized to be released to the public. Replacing the old park, lies the new park. Jurassic World is a park contained with genetically modified, prehistoric dinosaurs. Claire is a park operations manager, and the aunt of visitors Zach and Gray Mitchell. Scientists created a hybrid to become a new attraction to the park, because “No one is impressed by a dinosaur anymore,” said Claire. The dinosaur’s name is the Indominus Rex, and has been in captivity all it’s life. The Indominus Rex is transfused with many mixed dinosaur and other animal’s DNA. The base geno is the Tyrannosaurus Rex (a.k.a the T-Rex). Other genetic mixtures are cuttlefish, tree frog, and many other genes I will not specify. The dinosaur is up for review with the park owner Simon Masrani. He feels former military man Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) should observe it to examine for vulnerabilities. The dinosaur happened to escape its cage and has started wreaking havoc to everything that moves. One of the things I really loved was the visual graphics and effects. First of all, The dinosaurs look amazing. The texture of their skin, the claws, and facial expressions of the dinosaurs were amazing. Especially, when the Indominus showed its face. The bone structure looks almost perfect. The jaw on the dinosaurs are expanded to the fullest point. When the dinosaurs roar, the screen shakes and trembles. The detail of the teeth are picture perfect. It makes the intimidation level seem much more frightening. When they roar, you see the slob and blood fall from their teeth of their last kill. I think it is really cool how they made it. It almost makes me feel like I’m looking at it myself. The final dino battle was legendary. The way they were bumping each other into the buildings and destroying it looked really divine. The lights had an electric spark upon impact. It made the room light up in the dark. All the wood and bricks were falling. The dinosaur’s blood is glistening in the light and blood leaking everywhere. I just thought the visual effects in this movie were epic. Another thing I loved were the sound effects/music. The sound effects were on point. The way the dinosaurs stomp on the ground is intimidating. For an example, one of the scenes where the Indominus broke out of its cage, Owen is trapped under a car after being chased. He’s laying on the ground trying not to be spotted by the Indominus. The dinosaur is walking around the car trying to pick up a scent. The way the dinosaur’s foot collided with the ground was really loud, along with a rumble as an aftershock. I had my TV at almost max volume to experience it as if I was in the situation myself. The TV stand shook and vibrated upon the dinosaur stomp. You should have saw my face. I was in a shock on how realistic it felt. Also, I like the theme music. Every time the Indominus is searching for the characters, the music starts playing. For instance, when the Zach, Gray, and Owen were hiding in a building, the dinosaur is slowly picking up their scent. The music played and the dinosaur is slowly inching up to the building, while showing its deadly teeth. The music gave me chills. This is how you know that something is going to happen. The music attracts me to sci-fi and thriller movies.

Overall this movie was fantastic. Hammond previously had a dream that he can open up a park with dinosaurs. It failed because the dinosaurs escaped its cages. So the park has never opened up. Finally, Hammond’s dream has finally come true. They have prevailed Hammond's idea to attempt to open up the park again. So they decided to spice it up and do something different. I enjoyed that they made a genetically hybrid dinosaur, and is scary and very unique. The thing is dinosaurs cannot be contained. They are powerful creatures, especially the Indominus. “Hammond, after careful consideration, I've decided, not to endorse your park,” said Allan Grant from Jurassic Park.

With those highs I couldn't help but be slightly disappointed. But its aged well since. Throughout its theatrical run I found a love for the film and started looking at it on it's own terms. Besides sexy and charming Chris Pratt in the lead. Bryce Dallas Howard kicks major butt, the kids are good and the supporting cast are solid. The story is both familiar and refreshing and the FX are pretty spectacular as is the park they have created. In a sense it's sort of a reimagining of the first film and it does a solid job of doing some fun stuff with the treatment. Nothing could ever really come close to Spielberg's masterpiece in my eyes but this does a reputable job of being a solid follow up and the best since the first.

When the massive creature escapes, it sets off a chain reaction that causes the other dinos to run amok. Now, it's up to a former military man and animal expert (Chris Pratt) to use his special skills to save two young brothers and the rest of the tourists from an all-out, prehistoric assault. However, after watching the film, I can confidently say that it was a thrilling and entertaining addition to the franchise.

One of the standout features of the movie was the visual effects. The dinosaurs were incredibly realistic and the action scenes were well choreographed, which made for an immersive and thrilling experience. The setting of the park itself was also impressive, with the attention to detail adding to the believability of the world.

The cast of the movie was also excellent. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard both gave strong performances and had good chemistry onscreen. The supporting cast also added to the film, with memorable characters such as the villainous Hoskins, played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

While the plot of the movie was somewhat predictable and formulaic, it still managed to keep me engaged throughout. The pacing was well done, with plenty of action interspersed with moments of humor and character development.

Overall, I would highly recommend Jurassic World to fans of the franchise and anyone looking for a thrilling, action-packed movie experience. While it may not reach the heights of the original Jurassic Park, it is still a worthy addition to the series and a fun ride for audiences of all ages.

The first two were incredible but the third film left a sour taste in most people's mouths so this movie had a lot on its plate. If it flopped it would've certainly been the end to this franchise for a long time until years down the road Hollywood gave it the inevitable remake treatment. However, if it succeeded in delivering a quality product that fans would enjoy, the sky was the limit. Well, lucky for us fans, it delivered a really good film. With regards to the cast, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do a great job as the male and female lead counterparts; Vincent D'Onofrio once again takes the role of the villain and he does so masterfully; Jake Johnson provides great comedic relief throughout the film (maybe too frequently to be honest); to be frank, the only weak part of the cast were the two child leads. In what has become an unfortunate cliche in this franchise, children were given too large of a role and they couldn't deliver the necessary emotions. The first film got lucky there... more often than not, banking a large portion of your film on the capabilities of child actors is a mistake. Thankfully this was not a movie entirely reliant on acting so it wasn't a grave error but trying to emulate the magic of the first definitely hurt the movie a bit. The film also failed to deliver quite the same edge-of-your-seat thriller experience that the first two did. A lot of that had to do with any sense of unknown being eliminated almost immediately. In the first movies, you rarely caught a glimpse of the "villains" (T-Rex or the Raptors) during the build-up of the suspense. This helped create a certain tension that really captured you. This movie doesn't manage to do that at all. Instead, Jurassic World is an action movie that has dinosaurs, humor, and solid acting. Essentially it felt like a 21st century superhero movie but instead of Iron-Man or Captain America it had Velociraptors and an Indominus Rex. The problem is, it shouldn't be that type of movie at all. Nonetheless, the action, the nods to the original film (which was probably my favorite part of the movie), and the dinosaurs devouring people makes this worth the price of entry. Just don't go in expecting it to building on the originals. Expand

The science of genetically designing new species of dinosaurs - Indominus Rex - was pretty fascinating. I'd go so far as saying this film could've been a hit as a mockumentary. But instead, they have to play out the worst-case-scenario and that's when all the implausibility happens and everyone goes, "gimme a break", like when the two kids outrun I-Rex at first, and then every time after that. When leads Owen and Claire go all "Romancing the Stone" on us running through the jungle with no training and in street clothes, and when all the flying dinos get loose in the park mall, everyone's just running around in the open getting picked off one by one like Hitchcock's "The Birds" on steroids. Then the final dino fight scene could've been superiorly epic but the director had to keep weaving the leads in which just added more and more stupid. The film's SFX were fabulous but forcing the integration of humans with them was this film's primary failing, as it is in so many other films. Recent films that stand out by getting this right include: Pacific Rim, Into the Storm, and Mad Max: Fury Road. Expand

Historically, the Jurassic Park series had a great foreboding nature consistent right through to the end of the films. By contrast, whenever Jurassic World came close to achieving this standard, it was undone by silly, kiddish, slapstick humor. The seriousness of the theme deteriorated further by the director's insistent desire to make dinosaurs and humans work together in ways never thought possible. This of course goes against one simple premise Jurassic World's predecessors consistently preached, there is no survival, there is no cooperation, it is survival of the fittest.

The approach they took to the film was however refreshing and provided a new look on an already well covered pre-opened park.

Its a bit of fun where one can switch off and enjoy the ride.

Does Jurassic World have the magic of the original classic? No. But there's still enough awesome crowd pleasing moments and terrific visuals to keep you watching and entertained. And since that is the film's goal, it's a success.

Some of the scenes were highly unnecessary. The character development in this one was below par, because I wanted to know more about them. Things would've been a lot better with Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, but instead they went for the new route, which was okay......On the positive side, the movie looks great, but not the best looking movie of this year. It was nice to hear the original theme song,it really reminded me when I saw the first Jurassic Park for the first time with the opening sequence of the island. The action was good, and I guess the third act of this film was worth the admission. So is it better than Jurassic Park 3? Yes. Is it better than the first Jurassic Park? That's a BIG NO!! Despite some of the unnecessary scenes and dumb characters, the movie was fun....mindless fun to be exact. Expand

So what makes this film better than JP3 and The Lost World? The Characters are likeable, the action is phenomenal (I-Rex in particular) and the threat of the dinosaurs feels really intense (contrast to JP3 where the dinosaurs are not very intense). However, the dialogue in this movie is SOOOOOO FORCED!!! Some of the cheesiest dialogue I've ever seen in circumstances where it is just stupid to say that. There are also a couple action sequences forced for effect which is disappointing. That being said, this movie triumphs over the other sequels and is a fantastic thrill ride 60% of the time. Expand

"Here's another movie about dinosaurs with the exact same story as the one movie you loved as a child; Jurassic World (Park). It even got Chris Pratt in it. Feed us with your money now"

First of all; it's not as great as the original, but it still manages to inspire some magical feelings. The first half really felt beautiful, natural and really touching, even though the whole movie is a big cliché with the military and their interest in science. The combination with the great soundtrack made the movie great though. I really enjoyed the first half of the movie, much backstory and build-ups. The second however; well the action is a bit lame and it didn't really feel that exciting as I wanted it to be. The climax could have been much better too! But I still enjoyed it. Another great aspect is the CGI, much details and really well done! But some objects looks unreal and just bad.

Even though I did enjoy this movie, are there a massive amounts of flaws! First of all is the over-spoiled trailers. There could have been so much more unexpected events in this movie is they hadn't shown as much as they did. Damn trailers, they even made the movie predictable! The fact-based dialogs are another aspect; some are way too forced to the audience like "let's just tell them the fact without even revealing it character to character". There're also those annoying shaky-cams, we want to see something, not nothing! The action is as mentioned not as great as it could have been and there're no feeling to it either; it's hard to get thrills with dinosaurs. There are also some silly and unnecessary events that's just annoying, not to mention the unnecessary subplots with the main characters, so boring.

So yeah, this really is an over-hyped summer-flick, that might not be overrated but it still got its flaws. The biggest problem lies with the dinosaurs itself, it's just a bigger animal in my opinion that just happens to eat everything, and fight other big animals. That's not really anything "that big". There's one scene in this movie that got two really big dinosaurs fighting with each other, you can't really feel the intensity and the thrills of it. You can't feel compassion to them.

Even though it got its flaws did I actually enjoy Jurassic World; especially the bloody action-sequences, the main characters and the build-ups. Jurassic World was exactly as what I expected it to be like; over-hyped but still great to watch.

It's not for everyone, and the huge box office numbers might cause a bit of hype backlash, but otherwise, "Jurassic World" is a pretty good film that's worth at least one watch. Expand

Jurassic World was everything John Hammond wanted this place to be, but since the dinosaurs were lose in Jurassic Park (1993) and the park was at risk it was obvious that it was not to be released in the public’s eye. Jurassic world is fully operational and the lab created a hybrid dinosaur that will attract more visitors once this thing gets out it will eat people, (okay this film does copy the first one). Jurassic World is astonishing; I was waiting for the moments in the trailer to be showed in the film and once they were showed it was awesome, it was better than the third one, this film is two hours filled with dinosaurs chasing people and eating them, people running for their lives it’s groundbreaking but it’s not even close as being good as the first one. So Bryce Dallas Howard plays Claire, she is an executive at Jurassic World she tries too hard to make Jurassic World perfect all she cares about is what the public wants. After “Guardians of the galaxy” Chris Pratt shows that he can act and he is good in this movie; so he plays Owen, a former navy man who is a Velociraptor whisper (think of him as the trainer or something), so Claire wants him to take a look at this hybrid dinosaur but he tells Claire and the lab that is a bad idea (yep this film is filled with idiots!). So Claire’s nephews Mr. Lady’s man (Nick Robinson) and his perky little brother (Ty Simpkins) come to have fun at Jurassic World, they ran away from Claire’s British assistant and have fun together at the wrong moment then the hybrid dinosaur is on the lose trying to kill for sport (what is with the script it copies off the first one). We can tell co-writer/director Colin Trevorrow loves Spielberg’s Jurassic Park franchise, the way he is behind the camera. And he tries to bring to the “Jaws” formula and collages them together I am not sure if it’s a good idea. Trevorrow and his team create new special effects that are good but it’s not fresh like Winston’s team did back in 1993. Pratt as the hero was awesome the way he brings the charisma to the project he’s like Dr. Grant’s intelligence mixed in with Ian Malcom’s humor. Bryce Dallas Howard was a great heroine in this film she is like Ellie’s charisma mixed in with John Hammond. The problem with the film is the script it has too much backstory and it tries to copy off the first one back in 1993, it does not have intense anxiety like the first one. Expand

Not that this line tears down the entire movie, but the dialogue is so mediocre in this movie it makes me wanna punch myself. Thankfully, that's not much of a problem, as this movie delivers stable performances from Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D'Onofrio (funny enough these guys already played different Marvel characters) and offers enough narrative thrills to entertain. I gotta say though, there are some dumb people in this film. The guy near the end who opened the van's door when the raptors were on the loose? Yeah, why the hell did he do that? Anyway, this is really a solid movie and I would recommend to anyone who's a fan of monster movies or Jurassic Park trilogy.

Filled with WOW moments and callbacks to the 1993 Spielberg directed film (Dr. Wu is back, the night vision goggles, the same jeeps), as to say "move over JJ Abrams there is a new Spielbergian in town and he ain't Gareth Edwards !". This should be the sequel we've been waiting for right ? well that just depends on YOUR expectations. For me though personally the B-Movie story and the pseudo science behind the new (not really a) dinosaur is terribly ludicrous making Jurassic World another casualty to the phrase "Leave your brain at the door". But that doesn't mean it's not "fun" at least in some parts, Chris Pratt plays Raptor wrangler Owen Grady who (along with his raptors) acted as the glue that held this monster of a movie together since the other characters (with the exception of Masrani and Dr. Wu) were badly written. Even Bryce Dallas Howard couldn't make her part believable because her character was the typical "i'm a stuck up business person that tries to suppress my human emotions" then toward the end becomes "i'm no longer stuck up because my emotions were brought out by the plot happening and now i'm in love with Owen even though there was almost no buildup to the relationship". I will reluctantly give a pass to the child actors in this movie even if their reactions to some situations were questionable and the out of nowhere "our parents are getting divorced" conversation that didn't go anywhere was random like most of their dialogue. But we can't pay attention to that because obviously the 4 writers of this movie didn't because the kids were created so that the audience could go with them and see the attractions of Jurassic World and that's a somewhat justification. The not too shabby 3D and the D-box seat I was in made the film more enjoyable amplifying the experience of it's strengths, the sound and the effects. Overall, It wasn't as great as the hype machine made it out but it's not as dreadful as the last 2 sequels making this movie a brass knuckled gut-puncher with the inscribed words "It's Alright" embedded into your stomach like so many summer blockbusters before it. The whole movie feels like slightly wasted potential, most parts are some what entertaining but consistent slow scenes and bad writing really take away from the enjoyment of the film. Multiple times I found myself doubting or laughing at somewhat serious scenes because of how out of place or bad some scenes felt. The special effects themselves looked good and most times it felt like they represented the dinosaurs accordingly but sadly it feels like most of the movie takes place in a studio full of green screens with hardly any on location filming. Acting from the Movies main star Chris Pratt is quite good as usual, Chris himself dose fall into that generic action hero role and doesn't stand out in this role as much as his others. Everyone else kind of just blends together and wont make much of an impression on you. The most enjoyable part of this movie is obviously just watching Dinos fight each other and kill people, witch is at some points is very bloody and gorey witch is nice to see they didn't try to hide the violence. All together Jurassic Park is a fun Week end movie to see with some friends but don't expect Mad Max Level Action or get your hopes to up. Expand

Finally, we get a Jurassic Park sequel that isn't completely idiotic and mind-numbingly boring. Jurassic World ignores the events of The Lost World and Jurassic Part III and introduces a new theme park 22 years after the first park closedFinally, we get a Jurassic Park sequel that isn't completely idiotic and mind-numbingly boring. Jurassic World ignores the events of The Lost World and Jurassic Part III and introduces a new theme park 22 years after the first park closed where dinosaurs roam free, although it's more similar to something similar to Disney World than the original park. In order to spike attendance again, the park has created a new, bigger and scarier hybrid dinosaur, the Idominus rex, but the big guy escapes his enclosure, and it becomes a hunt for the dino before it makes its way to the resort. Jurassic World does take its time until the action really begins. The first act is completely dedicated to showing the park in its normal operational design, and while it is slow, it does try to capture the sense of wonder that the original Jurassic Park had. The dinosaurs in Jurassic World do look fantastic. It's great to just be able to marvel at them for the first 30 minutes. But this is a Jurassic Park movie; we want to see some dinosaur action. Luckily, the movie knows that point when to crank up the action, and it's actually quite jarring. It goes zero to a hundred really quickly. One moment I was watching the dinosaurs, a bit bored by this point, and the next I'm bracing my seat because of the sheer intensity of the film. Jurassic World is a seriously violent and visceral film. It's probably one of the most violent PG-13 movies I've seen since The Dark Knight, but the violence is about on par with the other three films, so you should know what to expect. The slow opening act makes the rest of the movie extremely effective and thrilling, and while Jurassic World didn't have anything as terrifying as the kitchen scene in the original film, there are plenty of scenes that will melt your face off. If you have the chance, go see it in IMAX 3D. It's definitely a movie you need to be completely immersed in to get the full effect. If you're a fan of the original Jurassic Park or you like newer monster movies like Cloverfield and Godzilla, Jurassic World is the movie to see this summer. Expand

This has been an excellent kick off to the summer season and gives hope for future films. It’s not perfect by any means, but I would say if you enjoyed the first film, you will enjoy this one as well. To start things off the effects of Jurassic World are really good and the performences were good, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D'Niofrio (I definitely didnt spell that right) but my main problem is that Vincent D'Niofrio character is so over the top cartoonish that it got to the point where I was hoping he was going to die. The movie was a bit predictable at times and the movie is only 2 hours and 4 minutes but so much happens that movie feels 20 minutes longer than it actually is. The begining was really cool where the doors swing open and it's like Christmas came early. The kids didnt annoy me as much as I thought they would. The ending fight was a great part, better than the 20 second fight in Jurassic Park 3. The Indominus Rex was a really good feature and Mossarasus Dinosaur got a really cool kill on a very minor character. My main problem is the dialouge sometimes isn't the greatest and the comic relief didnt always hit. If they do another sequel like there planning on doing I hope they do get another directer, Colin Treverrow did do a good job but I ended up getting to hyped up and I was disappointed but the movie was enjoyable for what it was, A Jurassic Park movie where the main dinosaur antagonist is a monster not an actual dinosaur. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's strange. As I was sitting in the bus on my home the plot deficiencies started coming to me. I could not put my finger on it, but something seemed to escape me. Storywise there was nothing in Jurassic World to elevate above the usual action flicks, no unique plot to really make it stand out. Looking back I started to feel empty. And yet as I was sitting in the cinema none of that really bothered me. These feelings came only later but as I was watching the film I felt completely satisfied. As far as action movies go I would easily put it amidst the best of the year.

But returning to the plot, first with the major negatives:

1.) Simple Plot. The story is fairly straightforward - they make a giant killer dinosaur, she escapes and wreaks havoc. Storywise nothing else happens. It could work, but only with more memorable characters that leap out of the screen. And while Jurassic World has good performances it does not have the kind of characters to make up for the simple story. And that is the biggest fault of the film.

2.) Clair and Owen's romance. When he kissed her it just came completely out of nowhere. Sure, it is established a bit that they once kind of, sort of had a thing, but that is never built up and their romance is entirely superfluous to the story.

3.) Dinosaur intelligence. Just how intelligent are they supposed to be? First Indominus Rex makes the velociraptors switch allegiance, even though she is supposed to have no social skills. Then the velociraptors waver in their allegiance, turn against Indominus Rex and have an "understanding" with T. Rex. It's just all too anthropomorphic for a supposedly serious film.

With the bad out of the way here is what I really liked about the film:

1.) How they explained the name Indominus Rex. It's just so perfect and self aware.

2.) Masrani seeing Indominus Rex for the first time. It was the perfect first reveal of a monster.

3.) Owen's character. He is probably the saving grace of this movie.

4.) Final fight between Indominus Rex and T. Rex.

So in the end Jurassic World - definitely one of the summer must- see's, a good action film but storywise don't expect too much.

"Jurassic World" 10 Scale Rating: 7.0 (Good) ...

The Good: Chris Pratt is on fire right now, and it's easy to see why. His screen presence and charisma really shine through here and he's become a bona fide leading man. Like it's predecessor 22 years ago, Jurassic World has effects that are ahead of it's time and were absolutely dazzling. Like the first film, I expect the look of this film to stand the test of time. Initially I was dubious about Pratt's character and his ability to "train" the raptors. That aspect was actually very well done and realistic ... well ... as realistic as such a film can be. They were also able to explain why the dinosaurs and their appearance have not progressed with what science has learned. I appreciated that and the explanation made sense. No feathers on the dinos, but the reason why was completely acceptable. Ultimately, Jurassic World is a solid action film. It's a good start to a re-launched franchise and a fun popcorn flick.

The Bad: A handful of things prevent the film from truly being great though. For starters, despite the decent build up, the story unravels and makes less sense. After all that occurred in the previous films, the people behind the dinosaurs and the park itself are still careless and greedy. It's a story beat that I wish would stop repeating itself. On that same note, several scenes are repeats of things we have already seen in the original trilogy. I wouldn't mind an ode or two, but it seemed to happen far too often. I would have liked a little more originality. Lastly, the supporting cast was hit and miss. Bryce Dallas Howard was horrid in a lead role and I kept wanting her to get eaten. She was vapid, unintelligent, and annoying. The children (placed in the movie to be saved ... repeatedly) were also uninteresting and somewhat off-putting. Like I said, it's a solid Summer film, but it could have been so much more.

Just this time instead of trying to engineer dinosaurs for science, it's for a tourist attraction. The acting and comedy were okay, but not great. This was very predictable, as it was the average corporation gets greedy, and things go awry, with somebody "evil" who wants to do something "bad" to the main object, then everything is solved and people learned their lesson. Perfect for money, but everyone knows most of those movies suck. I think this movie deserved a 7, but nothing better. Expand

"Hold on to your butts".

Jurassic World takes place 22 years after the original Jurassic Park failed the new park (also know as Jurassic World) is open for business. Jurassic World welcomes visitors from around the world to explore the wonders of seeing dinosaurs roam the Earth once again. Yet waning attendance has the Masrani Corporation focused on a new attraction - a genetically-modified dinosaur - a brand new species - but the plan backfires and threatens everyone on the island.

Jurassic World is a movie that nobody thought was going to happen, and that's because of the long development and the little bits of rumors about the project and that's the behind the scenes and some of the people who was working on the film dropped out due to many different reasons. Me and almost everyone give up on the film getting made, I mean it's been about 14 years (As I speak) since the third movie came out and the very last time we sawed Jurassic Park. Until one day, it happened, it finally happened. We finally got the movie we been waiting for and the first teaser trailer may have some people mixed about it, but almost everyone was excited for Jurassic World, and that's because the trailer caught that magic and wonder that Spielberg's Jurassic Park had.

Now after seeing the movie yesterday I got to say it's a way way better movie than Jurassic Park 3, but not as brilliant as Steven Spielberg Jurassic Park but I think I'm being a bit too harsh comparing the too because nothing can't top the first one and I wasn't really expecting this movie to do that, I'm just saying.

The director of the movie Colin Trevorrow has spoken out before saying how much he loved the first Jurassic Park movie and how that was he's childhood nostalgic. Now the only movie I've seen Colin Trevorrow directed is Safety Not Guaranteed which I sawed about couple days ago and I thought that movie was good but with many flawless which I will go into one day in my upcoming review for it, but anyway Colin Trevorrow as a director he's pretty good and in this movie he's directing was a bit off at times in a couple of scenes, but the rest of the time I thought he did good directing.

Chris Pratt was hands down the biggest stand out of the whole movie. Chris really won me over of being a down to earth action star with movies like Zero Dark Thirty and Guardians of the Galaxy. Every time he was on screen I was interested in his character because he was cool and was the only likable person in the movie. Chris Pratt did a awesome job in the movie and if they do make another Jurassic Park movie I really hope he's in it because he was the only enjoyable character in this movie.

The one thing I was a bit worried about before seeing the movie is the amount of CGI used in the movie, I mean just judging by the trailer they looked like a lot and yes these loads of CG in the movie, but for the most part it did look good at times and during the action scenes. But I will agree that these a little bit too much of it and some of it looks unfinished and didn't look like it's in the same environment with the actors.

The Indominus Rex in the movie was both menacing, scary and freaking cool and refreshing to see. The end battle which I won't give away was the highlight of the movie and it was a great way to end the movie.

I also love how the movie tells everyone to forget Jurassic Park 3, it's like a sorry letter to the fans and admitting that the third one sucked, even through this movie isn't flawless as well.

Now for the problems: Now I talked about Chris Pratt character being the whole good thing in the movie...well that's saying a lot if you compare he's character to the rest, because every character in this movie are dull and flat or just idiotic. I think the movie mostly focus on is action scenes and the dinosaurs being cool, but not really focusing on the character and let's not forget that what made the original Jurassic Park movie so special is the character's and how likable they are. Bryce Dallas Howard character was one unlikable character and the movie tries to make you like her towards the end, but I still didn't like her.

The writing in this movie is really flat and pretty awful at times. Now I have seen many movies that I can picture in my head of the writers just given up and put whatever down to make them feel that it good enough, but this is very close to being that. These many plot holes in the movie and scenes that didn't really make any sense at all, like how people are getting pretty bored of the dinosaurs thing, I mean WHAT!, how on earth can you be bored of seeing dinosaur's it's like the best thing to happen in a long time, now I now the movie does explain why but I don't buy into that at all. Oh and there's another sub plot in the movie with this government people wanting to take the velociraptor in war zone for a military weapon and that right there is so freaking stupid and so idiotic to do, because velociraptor can't just kill bad people they can turn on you because it's in they nature to kill and to them your just meat to eat.

The kid actors in the movie didn't do terrible job when it comes to acting, but they are scenes where they keep looking straight at the camera like most kid actors do, I know it's only for a split second but it took me of the movie a little bit and I couldn't take it seriously when they did that, and it happens more then once in the movie. The movie keeps cutting back to them and they not interesting at all and slowed down the movie for me.

The movie keeps re-creating or showing scenes that are just like the original Jurassic Park movie and after a while it got a bit annoying and pretty old really fast, I mean I would like if they just did a new movie with a new story, and not just keep going back to the original Jurassic Park and telling us how great Jurassic Park was.

Overall Jurassic World is a big improvement from Jurassic Park 3. It may seem like I'm nick picking here but that's just my honest thoughts of the movie. You may like it more then me and these nothing wrong with that, I thought the movie was good if I was judging it only as a Jurassic Park movie, but the movie dose have many flaws that could be improved on easily. Beside that I enjoyed the movie for what it was and I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

The film focuses on an attempt to bring a new hybrid to the species of dinosaurs, the staff at the park hold it in isolation as it can be dangerous. But obviously, it escapes and that's how the main plot starts.

There are two brothers who attend the park, the older one is Zach (Nick Robinson) and the young one is Gray (Ty Simpkins). We see that Zach has a girlfriend at the start of the film who never makes another appearance later on, nor is she mentioned. Gray, in one scene mentions something about their parents getting divorced, which doesn't seem to be important to the movie's main story.

Once again, character development does seem to be lacking in this franchise. Bryce Dallas Howard plays Claire, who is basically the John Hammond of the film, as she runs most of the park and appears to also be the two boys' aunt. We learn that she has had a history with the main hero, Owen, played by Chris Pratt who, once again, is trying another action role to distance himself away from comedies.

The one thing that trouble's me is Pratt's character, Owen...he is just a typical action hero, we don't learn anything else about him other than the fact that he used to date Claire. But does he have a family? Parents? Brothers or Sisters?? We know he trains certain dinosaurs and treats them like they are zoo animals that need to stay calm.

There are many scenes where we see Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle, shooting various creatures and just basically being the action "badass" for the movie. But is he human? He doesn't seem to be scared. In the original 'Jurassic Park' (1993), Sam Neil's character didn't know what he was doing the entire time, but he survived while protecting two children, and he showed fear, he wasn't some superhero that always showed courage. I found Chris Pratt to be a little bland in this film, but that's not his fault. You want a hero? You got a hero.

There are many familiar action-movie cliches that we see from time to time, such as when a character is rescued by another character and they share a kiss. Or when a character is ready to take action and another character asks how they are going to do it without assistance, then the camera zooms in on their face and they execute a "badass" line to look cool.

The film, like I said above, also relies on nostalgia, we hear the iconic music that was originally composed by the great John Williams, now composed by the equally great Michael Giacchino. This reminds me of when 'Superman Returns' was released in 2006, it had the original theme music and relied on nostalgia to entertain its original audience.

However, I enjoyed the thrills, the special effects artistry and the fact that we once again visit an iconic franchise for the new generation. My only concern is that this did not feel like a necessary sequel, there is no need to re-open a park that once killed people, and you know this may get another sequel giving its enormous box-office success. Is "Jurassic Park 5" really needed?

This gets 7/10. Good summer flick, not sure about re-watchability...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

One of the biggest and most enjoyable aspect is the use of the velociraptor, they were a perfect supporting element to the main predator. It is also entertaining to see Chris Pratt riding around in a motorcycle alongside raptors dressed like Indiana Jones minus the hat and whip. The movie is fun and inventive, whilst taking on an exciting narrative arc combined with exciting characters and, most importantly, a fantastic array of dinosaurs. Whilst the film suffers from several plot inconsistencies and dialogue problems, it successfully takes the audience back to a world full of dinosaurs in an original yet nostalgic way. The re-imagining of what a park full of dinosaurs would look like if it were to exist in the future is portrayed with great originality. It also hints back at Jurassic Park throughout, particularly in a beautiful scene mid way through the film. Overall, Jurassic World is a fun movie that succeeds in taking viewers back to Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur fantasy. Expand

For Jurassic World, the hype and the expectations were staggering. Can it beat the original? Can it put the other two non satisfying sequels to shame? The answer is that one of these objectives was accomplished while one will perhaps never be accomplished. Jurassic World takes place 20 years after the original "accident" with Hammond's park thriving with attendance and focus groups, everything we've come to expect from Corporate America (wink wink). To help boost attendance, or perhaps wallets, a new hybrid will be debuting. The problem is the hybrid has been kept in isolation and soon figures out, I don't deserve to be in a cage I deserve to create havoc. While much of the plot seems unoriginal, credit must be given to the filmmakers for paying homage to Spielberg. As Spielberg continues to make movies, his style of filmmaking becomes quite present and in return, if one follows the blueprint, you have an homage. This is not an unsatisfying reboot, but certainly does not live up to expectations. Expand

It has been 22 years since Jurassic Park ushered in the modern age of computer generated imagery, becoming the first motion picture to use the then-cutting edge special effects technology to astound and amaze us. Director Steven SpielbergIt has been 22 years since Jurassic Park ushered in the modern age of computer generated imagery, becoming the first motion picture to use the then-cutting edge special effects technology to astound and amaze us. Director Steven Spielberg allowed us to believe that dinosaurs were real. Repetition made the second Jurassic Park installment, 1997's The Lost World, a step down and Universal's decision to cut the budget for the third movie, 2001's Jurassic Park III, seemingly put an end to the saga. However, after a 14-year gap, the T-Rexes, velociraptors, and their ilk are back. With Spielberg executive producing and Colin Trevorrow behind the lens, it's time to again return to a universe where amber-encased prehistoric mosquitoes have made it possible for extinct creatures to roam.

Jurassic World features only one returning character from the original trilogy - BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu - but that's not a drawback. All the necessary types are in place: Chris Pratt's Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire fill the heroic roles, Ty Simpkins' Gray and Nick Robinson's Zach are the annoying kids, Irrfan Khan is John Hammond's successor, and Vincent D'Onofrio is the unappealing military-type with his own agenda. Really, though, the Jurassic Park movies have never been about the human beings, be they Sam Neill's Alan Grant or Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcom. They have been about the dinosaurs. Jurassic World features plenty of call-backs to Jurassic Park (including, I assume, the same T-Rex) but there are no cameos for Neill or Goldblum.

This is the best of the Jurassic Park sequels and does a better job than episodes #2 and #3 in recreating the "feel" of the original. It starts by giving us some time to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of a fully working dinosaur amusement park - bigger than anything Hammond envisioned. Clearly, no expense has been spared. The tragedies of the original Jurassic Park are long past, buried and forgotten with the skeleton of the visitor center. The new version has been open for a decade - long enough that there are concerns about attendance waning. Dinosaurs are no longer enough. Customers want something bigger and meaner.

Despite having a slim resume (the quirky indie Safety Not Guaranteed), Trevorrow handles Jurassic World like a pro. He hits all the right notes, giving the two-dimensional characters as much heft as they deserve (which isn't much) and handling the action sequences like a seasoned veteran of Hollywood tent pole features. He references countless other monster movies, including obvious ones like King Kong and Godzilla and less evident choices like The Birds and (especially) Aliens. His style is part Spielberg/part Cameron.

Composer Michael Giacchino recognizes the importance of embracing John Williams' iconic themes rather than jettisoning them (as was done in Man of Steel). Guacchino gives us not only full orchestral renditions of the most noteworthy music but more subdued interpretations when those are appropriate. The dino-effects, both CGI and animatronic, are superior to those in the earlier Jurassic Park movies but that's not surprising considering how much things have advanced over the years. The 3-D is an utter and complete waste and is best avoided. It exists only because of the Hollywood mindset that all summer blockbusters must be released in 3-D to be considered legitimate.

Jurassic World leaves open the door for future installments but, while this is an enjoyable popcorn experience, it works best as a stand-alone follow-up. Trevorrow and his co-screenwriters deserve credit for milking two more worthwhile hours out of the Jurassic Park idea but there's nowhere else for the concept to go. It's played out. Another sequel would be folly. That's a future consideration, however (likely to be determined exclusively by $$). For now, there's only Jurassic World, which has taken the fossilized remains of a beloved franchise and given it a new life than many doubtlessly thought impossible.

TheThe original Jurassic Park still is a personal favourite, it is an enormously fun, thrilling (with some nail-biting moments) and brilliantly made film, with one of John Williams' most memorable main themes and scene-stealing dinosaurs. The Lost World has its admirers, but for me it was a major step-down and one of Spielberg's weakest films, and Jurassic Park 3 was even more disappointing.

Jurassic World is not a patch on the first Jurassic Park and I didn't quite find it the return to form that it has been touted as, but for all its faults and uneven parts it is a massive improvements on the previous two sequels and is an entertaining film in its own right that does more right than it does wrong.

First things off, Jurassic World is an incredibly well-made film, it's beautifully shot with scenery that's both colourful and atmospheric and the dinosaurs look wonderful. The dinosaurs also steal the film, not just their designs but also that they're lots of fun and are scary, their scenes are great to watch and there could have been even more than there were. This is especially true with the Indominus Rex, who is chillingly bloodthirsty, when she is stalking her prey it's enough to be glued to one's seat and then jump out of it. Michael Giacchino's music score is positively stirring, and even includes themes from Williams' score for Jurassic Park, which was just a lovely homage and fits within the rest of the scoring beautifully.

The film's homages are most enjoyable and give the film a nostalgic quality, some of it is savvy and funny and while not as much as the original there's still a good of thrills and scares to be had. The latter half is often very exciting, the film is efficiently directed, doing nicely in maintaining the tension, and the acting is good (though one does wish that the characters were written better). Chris Pratt has a likable and warm presence, as well as a nice wit, and Bryce Dallas Howard is similarly good even with the most problematically written character. Vincent D'Onofrio makes a real effort making his somewhat one-note and underused character more interesting than he deserves to be and does bring some intensity.

However, Jurassic World does contain some large problems. Not all the acting works, Judy Greer for my tastes was annoying in places and the children's acting was often too forced and their back story goes nowhere. The script and story are uneven, with the script it has its moments but it can be a bit muddled, as a result of trying to do too much at times, some of the dialogue is very weak and can induce cringes and some of the reversals are really out of place. It also could have done a much better developing the characters, because they felt very underdeveloped and clichéd, especially Claire, and any character arcs come off clumsily or aren't explored enough, particularly for the children. Owen and Claire's romance can slow the film down and does contain some forced dialogue. The story is at least never really dull, and excites more than it limps, but at the same time it does lack the wonder, consistent suspense, smartness and originality that Jurassic Park had. It does feel like a too predictable rehash at times, does feel muddled tonally, the exposition in the first half hour does go on for far too long and doesn't really say anything interesting and the ending is too silly and anti-climactic for my tastes.

All in all, uneven and not on the same level as the original Jurassic Park, but a very entertaining well made film and by far the best of the sequels. 6.5/10 Bethany Cox

What: Jurassic World ///

Who: Chris Pratt, the blind girl from The Village, and two really annoying children you would never go to a theme park with ///

Where: The world's most dangerous amusement park ///

When (can I watch again): 1 year before it's an enjoyable re watch ///

Why: For any fan of the franchise this movie will bring back tons of nostalgia; for people who don't like Jurassic Park, dinosaurs, or the extremely lovable Chris Pratt, go watch an Avenger.

As a fan of the original, I was just waiting to see this film completely destroy the legacy of it. But it didn't. What it did was make a fun 2 hour blockbuster with some suttle and some not so suttle references to the first one. The best sequal to 'Jurrasic Park' and a fun and easy 2 hours. Expand

A very good film especially in 3D. The CGI effects were amazing and the story is ok. However some of the design looks more of a copy and paste from the older jurassic parks.

I went in with really low expectations, but was quite surprised by how good the film was. It is entertaining and it gives some props to the original JP which were some of the best moments in the film. Pratt and Howard worked exceedingly well in there roles and the story was actually not bad for the fourth entry in the series. There was a little too much action and CGI gobbily **** as the film went on which became predictable and boring for the last 30 minutes which is why I think it could have been better. Anyway, it's no way near as good as the original, but way better the JP III. I would put it on the same level as the Lost World.

Brings back so many childhood memories. Nothing beats the first one but this one's worth a watch too.

I actually did enjoy this movie. Apart from some "storyline holes" like the introduction that wasn't even supposed to be in, it's pretty entertaining and interesting.

If you get yourself hyped for this movie, don't because it will not exceed your expectations. However, it doesn't mean Jurassic World will disappoint you. Jurassic World is non-stop thriller that will excite and entertain fans.

This time around Spielberg was not only faced with the task of making this one better than the last but it also had to be good enough to draw attention away from the previous two movies and help the audience mend the mental scars that they had left behind.
Spielberg set on a quest to create something that would make the Jurassic Park fan base happy. With the new advances in technology since the other movies had been made, primarily CGI, this task was easily accomplished and provided an array of dinosaurs that were stupefying in composure and more realistic than one could have predicted. With a few key actors in the movie such as Chris Pratt, the movie instantly had a good amount of viewers anxiously waiting to see his most recent performance and determine how it stacked up to his other works. What makes the movie even better, depending on how you look at it, they even provided a little bit of romance as well as the family aspect in order to broaden the intended audience and attract even more viewers. As for the inevitable dinosaur throw down that is the main reason why people choose to watch these movies, Spielberg definitely follows through and delivers an amazing display of a dinosaur-death match. In all, the film has its high points also followed by lows but it delivers in the important parts that were vital in creating a good film.
