Those who criticize the filmJurassic World is the best sequel in the most exciting franchise of the film industry. Characters are likable, the dinosaurs feel so new and life-like compared to the previous films, and the music is so well done. Those who criticize the film for being terrible is just pathetic. They don't understand a Jurassic film as I do, being a Jurassic fan myself. I recommend movie-goers, kids that love dinosaurs, and fans of the films to see this amazing film. Expand

It goes without sayingMy wife and I went to see this film today, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. There is plenty of action scenes in it, and there are also a few comedic elements in there too, but they are subtle, and not out of line. It goes without saying that this is the kind of film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It starts off a little slow, but it quickly picks up the pace. I thought it was just going to be a copy of Jurassic Park, but it wasn't.

At first, i didn't want to see it, but my wife wanted to go and see it, so we went together to give it a shot. It was well worth the trip and the money for the tickets. We did the 3D version, which makes it even better, especially after they turned all the lights out.

Chris Pratt gave another stellar performance as the lead character, being the 'alpha' male to certain dinosaurs. Bryce Dallas Howard is a babe, and she was smoking hot in this flick. Steven Spielberg did another excellent job, and Colon Trevorrow did a darn good job directing this master piece.

I honestly did not know the actor Chris Pratt but I think he did a good job and actress Bryce Dallas is very very very beautiful and very cute, she also knew how to make her own.
there are difference between jurassic park 1 and jurassic world, but just a little bit, for me the 2 best movies of all of them, in jurassic park must be the one of the best cause there began everything, of course, but there were so many errors in the production, on the other hand, jurassic world maybe did not have errors, but it was a very little predictable,
but you will not be disappointed

I absolutely loved the first Jurassic Park. It was clever, action packed and pretty revolutionary for the time that it came out. The two that came after... well... the first one was watchable, and I did kind of enjoy it, but the third? Well. I guess not having Spielberg on board didn't help. Alas, Spielberg was the executive producer for this film, and needless to say, the third probably would've been much more enjoyable had he worked on it. This film was GREAT! It was the type of film that they made movie theaters for. It was loud, terrifying and fast-paced, which will help keep your grandpa awake as the film progresses. Although the story is pretty predictable, the cinematography and action scenes make up for it. The two kids in the movie don't really help the story progress in any way, they did set up one of the coolest scenes in the movie. I won't spoil it for you though. Well, here are my final thoughts on the movie:
Great film to see in theaters, very enjoyable even if you haven't seen the originals!

Welcome back to a Stephen Spielberg type of movie.

It definitely had the old Spielberg feel to the movie. At one point, it felt like Goonies with the interaction of the brothers.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard were great in their roles.

Before you starting to throw rocks at me, here is the only reason why i think this movie is the best in the series (including the original) - simply because it is superbly entertaining.

The first film had a groundbreaking special effects, and the first hour or so was amazing, but when the shix hit the fan, it wasn't so exciting anymore. I always believed the human characters were weak in the first movie, although actors and acting were very solid, somehow for me second part of the movie was simply boring. Yes. Second movie was the worst Steven Spielberg's movie yet, even Steven Spielberg have admit it. The third was OK, better then 2nd by a mile.

That said, "Jurassic World" should have been the true sequel to the original. It is bigger, louder and more entertaining - everything that a good sequel must have. Special effects in here are truly special, i don't see any movie this year who could steal the best special effects Oscar from "Jurassic World" - they aren't groundbreaking, but they are truly spectacular. Acting was very cool, as well as cinematography and very solid directing. Now i kinda see why this guy will helm one of the new "Star Wars" movies, which about i was skeptical before seeing "Jurassic World".

Overall, "Jurassic World" is a highly entertaining movie. Best of all is to see it with friends on the biggest screen possible, it is a helluva entrainment, not a perfect one, but the best from this franchise yet.

The only issues are with people who can't 'suspend disbelief'. Is it ridiculous? Absolutely. It's pure ridiculous fun!

Every second was filled with wonder and dread of what was going to come, bringing suspense and smart scares that didn’t always stick the landing but kept things entertaining none the less. Jurassic World is as good as sequels get when it comes to continuing the stories that the original classics left us with. Expand

I liked the twist they put on things, but it felt under told and the ending fell short for me. It was QUITE predictable. One thing that bothered me was you never felt that... "Oh crap, a dinosaur is hunting me" feel. The whole point of enjoying multiple movies in a series, is enjoying that similar feel. I'm not saying that I want it to be exactly the same... but what made Jurassic Park movies so great was the, "Oh crap, a dinosaur is hunting me" feel. Because there was just chaos everywhere... and we kept getting thrown around the park without it building any suspense for certain situations. I really felt disappointed that I went and spent money on 3D movie tickets, popcorn and soda for me and family... Maybe that's because I download most movies and rarely go to the theater... and I expected my first theater visit in a while to really WOW me... but it didn't. I'm not saying it was horrible. I liked the twist, the effects, the action (even though i felt it was missing something in that department, just felt like wild chaos).... I still give it an 8. It WAS a good movie, just didn't live up to what I thought that it could have been. Expand

The park is brilliantly realised and the new genetically engineered dinosaur adds new terror (not that it was strictly necessary) Chris Pratt proves that Guardians Of The Galaxy was no fluke and that he has real star quality, while Bryce Dallas Howard handles running in heels with aplomb. The film works because it understands what made the first film such a success and simply builds on it, tipping its hat to the original subtlety along the way. A great, old fashioned crowd pleaser. In movie sequels high expectations usually mean high disappointment.
I came into the theatre knowing that the 90's are behind us forever but, somehow life found tis way.
But how do you write a sequel to such a beloved classic and, somehow try not to mess up?
Well by rembering what made the first such a beloved classic in the first place, and to me, it will alyways be two things:
- the sense of wonder for
- the ethical dilemma: is science going to far?
JP 2 and 3 lacked these points, and it resulted in a mindless monster chase where people were just there to be eaten and dinosaurs could have been easily replaced with a screaming banana.
In jurassic wold both the audience and the characters are enough genre savy to understand what is going on around them, so in a new, fully operational park we recreate the sense of wonder by the Point of view of Gray, a child who sees dinosaurs for the first time.
It is worth noting that he never uses smartphones to take pictures, he experiences the world through his eyes.
In a world where lack of excitment is a plot point, the "greedy corporatives" who speak by numbers and focus groups try to shake things up by messing up with nature itself.
A new creature, an hybrid, to reinvigorate the excitmente, is the trigger that makes the plot explode.
Of course we know what will happen, of course we know that characters have plot armor but the execution of the movie is good enough to let suspend our disbelief.
We root for this characters to survive, we root for the dinosaurs for the right to "live".
We choose a side when the movie presents questions like "is science an accoplishment or is it playing god?".
We all saw the trailer, and some decisions could go either way: insanely awesome or insanely stupid.
The movie walks this thin line, especially with the raptors and I was surprised how they managed to mess this up.
The ending of the climax though, gets a little bit too awkward because of these decisions.
Overall, without spoiling plot or something, I highly recomend this movie, it is a worthy sequel of a classic and brings enough new things to the table to keep things fresh and interesting.

The movie is better then any movie I have everI don't know why every one is saying it's a bad movie, because of character development and what not. Hey guys, shut up, you are not a f-ing critic neither am I, but still keep your mouth shut. The movie is better then any movie I have ever seen since Avatar. I was actually concerned when people were either going to die or get hurt. Which is something I can't say I had in previous movies, such as *Throws up in mouth a little.* Twilight. Or the hunger games, but that one I can't really put against because I read the books so I know what is going to happen.

Anyways back on track, the movie does a really good job keeping the tension through out the movie. Be honest it got so tense that I actually thought I was watching a horror movie then an action movie. I especially loved the scenes where they left the raptors out and was looking for the dinosaur, and the end fight scene. HOLY crap, that was the coolest scene ever.

But I am going to nit pick here because the movie is great, we all know that so I will tell about some of the bad things about it.

The plot-in my opinion - really doesn't follow the ones from the old ones, which were also GREAT movies. Just basically trying to hunt down this dinosaur the entire time. It really dissapointed me because I was hoping for more dinosaur fights, dinosaurs getting out and you have to find your way around them like the first 1. But sadly there are only several scenes of dinosaurs fighting, they make them really good though.

Another thing that was really bugging me was that you killed all the raptors except one, really? That was unnecessary and almost added nothing to the plot. It would have been fine if the raptors got injured or something, but you didn't need to kill them all. It's one of those things from keeping me from giving this movie, a perfect score.

But honestly like I said before a great movie, and a really good sequel to it's previous sets of films. To be honest when I go down and look at all the negative scores, it just seems like people are hating on it for no reason. It seemed like they couldn't think of anything so they just make a random insult and just insult the movie.

Typical online bull crap. Don't mind them, if you loved the old movies you will, for sure, love this one.

The effects are solid, the characters are pretty basic but very likable, and while it doesn't capture the "magic" of the first movie, it's still an entertaining ride. A solid sequel, and probably the first & only sequel to Jurassic Park I can recommend.

Also, I give it the same rating as the first movie because of the ending.
All I'll say is: T-REX MOTHERF***ERS.

The direction and thrills are on point here along with a fantastic and likable performance by Chris Pratt. The main baddy is the genetically modified super predator known as the Indominus Rex, its a cool and formidable foe for the film and was an interesting villain to introduce to the franchise. The film relies heavily on nostalgia at times when it doesn't have to and aside from Grady, Hoskins, Barry (played by Omar Sy), Cruthers and the return of Henry Wu; alot of the characters are a mixed bag. I found Claire to be a bit annoying and her nephews (especially the youngest) to be equally annoying. Theres also a needless divorce subplot that offers nothing to the film in the grand scheme of things and Pratt and Howard have absolutely no chemistry. Plus the CGI isn't that great or at least it could have been better. But as a whole, this film does alot of things right. It served as a fine reintroduction to the franchise and I thought breathed a new life into the Jurassic Park franchise. Expand

I was anticipating this movie ever since it was announced. I waited in excitement for the trailers and even freaked out in excitement when the 30 second teaser was released. So when this movie was finally released i was one of the first people in line to see it. And for the most part i really enjoyed this movie the acting was good for the most part particularly by Chris Pratt and even the two younger siblings i thought did a good job. I thought that the love story was a little forced but to be honest it was such a small part of the actual movie it didn't matter to me. And the dinosaurs were awesome. The cgi has come such long way that they looked real. And it was amazing to see the park finally open in all its glory. Which brings us to a very important part of the movie. The Indominous Rex I thought that the Indominous Rex was awesome and added a new and interesting twist to the Jurassic Park franchise. Some people complained that they thought this was more of a monster movie than a Jurassic movie however i have to disagree i thing that this movie was a good ending note the the Jurassic franchise and i am glad that the position this movie holds no longer belongs to Jurassic Park 3

This movie had a lot of positives and a good fair negatives but over all i had a lot of fun with this movie and give it a 8 out of 10.

Experience the new casts to make new story, they really nailed it. I love all the casts. The action from the characters and also the dinosaurs, really dream comes true. It's even better than Age of Ultron *I must say*. Why? the antagonist character has the same weakness plot, that really easily defeated. But, the way the whole movie gave a strong performance, really COOLER than Age of Ultron. It makes me think of LEGO MOVIE. #awww *Lego Movie should win the oscar, sorry, Baymax!*
When kids came to the cinema, they really remember the whole story from first to end, and it really meant for children, nothing really adultery scenes, which means the movie succeeded to enchant the children. As we, the former fans from our childhood, me, I would say this is great. But of course, so many flaws.
For me, people should respect the second movie of Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Nothing can beats how adventure the second movie, not even two movies after can beat it. It is true that Jurassic Park, the first one was the most amazing movie until now, but the thrill and the dark things, the second one really nailed it. After that, I must say: Jurassic Park was meant for just duo-logy and nothing else.
So, basically Jurassic World is very fine, and watchable, but for once, it's too many flaws. It deserved the box office, it's better than Avengers. It defeats how not very attractive the third movie, but even though the third movie really gives great story behind the abandon two islands!
I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THESE ISLANDS, FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Let's stop make any park or everything, just digging more about the horror and mystery, that might be, might be can effect world civilization.
About the ending *Spoiler Alert*
The doctor was flew with InGen and it meant for there will be a chance to make another dinosaurs of the another place... it could very dangerous. It gives me a hint that one day, the dinosaurs will rule the world, like...Planet of The Apes *HAHAHAHAHAHA*
Because they keep talking about how intelligent they all have become, I'm afraid if the doctor will put chimpanzee DNA to do experiment. #LOL
So, well, the action, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, and Ty Simpkins were really dream team! We really enjoyed it.

Jurassic World was a great movie for 2015, the special effects were amazing, the story felt just like the first Jurassic Park but optimized. There were quite a few references to the original, some are hard to find and others you can tell straight that it was a reference.
The script seemed odd and little lacking but I still didn't really mind about it. The movie keeps you suck to your seat with scenes that may make you shiver a little. The films choices of who dies and who doesn't matches with who you may think that would die but some deaths I didn't really think were very necessary or just the wrong way for them to die.

Overall the film is a blast. I had alot of fun watching it, it was entertaining, amazing and thrilling.
Jurassic World is a great film I highly recommend it.

You have a dangerous new spliced DNA big bad dinosaur, trained raptors and Vincent D'Onfrio (Full Metal Jacket) as a warmonger who wants to use raptors as a weapon of war. While the "Let them fight!" line from Godzilla is more fitting for Jurassic World. Since it doesn't shy away from dinosaurs battling it out or pan away from the action like Godzilla frustratingly did. This movie is awesome!

Having screenwriters from Rise of the Planet of the Apes' franchise, the engineering field of genetic modification works efficiently on the historic extincted animals and at the same time allows the plot to stress on the greediness of human nature, the ethical and morality behind as well as the dire consequences. Scores from Michael Giacchino mostly remain the original theme composed by John Williams, creating a sense of revisiting the old park while performance of Chris Pratt sparks with his serious characteristic throughout the entire film. The story is further well balanced with intense action sequences, fury battle between the dinosaurs and splendid visual effects although there's a few scenes of obvious CGI flaws. Overall, director Colin Trevorrow has transformed this mid-range Spielberg efforts into a satisfying adventure much better than the previous two sequels - The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. The acting is solid, Chris Pratt knows how to make a good lead and Bryce Howard gives a good performance. The story is good, mostly because it's focused and don't feel overstuffed. The visuals are amazing, because of a solid direction by Colin Trevorrow. The score is perfect. with both the old theme song and a new, thrilling one.
If you liked Jurassic Park, but felt that there could be a little more action on that film, go see this one.

expect too much originality. That being said while not very original,
the stakes in this film are higher than in the original, as the first
film dealt with 15 or so people on the island, this movie deals with
thousands. In the end I found the plot to have enough twists to keep me
interested, the movie had a surprising amount of humor (including a
hilarious Jimmy Fallon cameo), and an awesome climax.

There may be a lot of references to the first movie, yeah, but it's one of the best titles of the Jurassic Park series. It didn't instill the fear in us as much as the first one did, but I honestly don't think it was going for that. I don't really have much to say about it. Though, I must mention before I go any further, there were a few plot points that seemed important that weren't touched upon later in the film that were in the beginning, and it did have quite a bit of movie cliches, but I can forgive it. The plot was interesting, the characters were pretty likable, and, among all of the movies I've seen that have come out this year, this one probably takes the cake as the best one, and the second best Jurassic Park movie. And, mind you, this is coming from someone who has seen the entire series. Overall, it's one of those movies where you loved it, but you don't really understand why. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I once said that I didn't think the script would be very convincing. They open up a park and repeat the same mistakes. I'll just put that thought in a little box and put it away. Despite that criticism, the film is great! The script was so and some of the acting could have been more credible, but the real stars of this film are the dinosaurs, especially the raptors. I fell in love with them and hated to see them die. They were the heart of the film. I take solace in knowing that at least the beta survives. Behind the raptors, the Indominus and T-Rex steal the screen. This is a film I greatly recommend for any dino-lover. We don't get very many dinosaur films and this one is a great one to watch. Expand

Chris brings the comedy and heroics, Bryce brings the surprisingly authentic awkward-but-likeable (and by no means helpless) support, and the other characters fit their rolls nicely (especially Jake Johnson), even if they are far from fleshed out or engaging. If you enjoy said Summertime spectacles, you'll love Jurassic World, the Jurassic Park sequel we've been wanting for over two decades. If you enjoy deeply complex plots, political commentary, or lofty character driven historical dramas then you'll pick apart everything about this movie that doesn't compare with "Citizen Kane" or "The King's Speech" (both of which I also happen to like. Heaven forbid people embrace numerous film genres.) The characters are likeable (as always for Chris Pratt), the plot is pretty straight forward, the special effects are great, the music is moving, and apart from the relatively slower intro (it's probably just under half an hour until we see an actual full shot of a dinosaur) the last hour and a half keep you enjoyably entertained. The last 20 minutes alone are, for lack more flowery language, very cool!

Bottom line: Jurassic World is a fun summer film with enough thrills and chills to keep you entertained for just enough time; it doesn't feel too short or too long.

Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard the film plays as a direct sequel to the original “Jurassic Park” released 22 years ago this week. Both “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” & “Jurassic Park III” are still considered a part of the shared universe but neither of the latter films are referenced. Instead “Jurassic World” plays up the nostalgia of the first film and has many included references. The film is definitely a must see of the summer and does play better than both of the previous sequels. Unfortunately it cannot compete with the awe and wonder one felt watching the first film in the series back in 1993. A simple formula is followed in this film which should surprise no one. Man creates dinosaurs, dinosaurs eat man, man brings Chris Pratt in to fight dinosaurs, and scene. As simple as it sounds though it still works. Pratt is the real deal and the whole time I was watching the film I felt like I was watching an audition tape for a new Indiana Jones movie. The man is fun to watch and believable in his role. Bryce Dallas Howard flies under the radar early in the film but then really starts to shine as the film goes on. Her character was also the most unbelievable element in a film full of dinosaurs though by being in high heels the entire time. The supporting cast was good with Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus, and “Jurassic Park” alum BD Wong. I especially liked Khan’s role as Simon Masrani. D’Onofrio’s character was interesting before turning into a walking cliché by the third act. Now onto my only real gripe with the film, the kids. The performances were fine but I found neither actor, Ty Simpkins or Nick Robinson, to be charismatic or enthralling in any way. I didn’t care what was happening to them or what was going on in their lives. It is another pointless child inclusion storyline that Hollywood includes in their films because I guess they think it appeals to a broader audience. I must say though when I was a kid I didn’t care about if there were kids in the movie in a significant role. I just wanted to see whatever the heroes were doing against the dinosaurs, monsters, aliens, etc. This brings me to the thing we all want to see, the dinosaurs. They were thrilling and wonderful to see as always. I felt the rush of excitement from my 8-year old self finally getting to see an Ankylosaurus, one of my favorite dinosaurs growing up, in action on the big screen. By the end of the film everything culminates into a fantastic dino-action scene; high heels and all. So go to the theater, grab that rail seat, and kick up your feet for an enjoyable dinosaur experience. Don’t blink or you’ll miss Jeff Goldblum and Jimmy Buffet’s small inclusions. Buffet’s was especially humorous. Expand

Not as good as the first one, but the moment I heard the original Jurassic Park theme I was overwhelmed of nostalgia. And the last 15 minutes of this movie is silly, but so awesome! This movie still had it's cheesy and stupid moments. Also, there was a bit too much advertisement for products and company names like Mercedes and Imax. Still, the movie was a blast to watch, although I doubt that it will be a movie that I will be able to watch several times. All the homages, references, awesome classic dinosaurs, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's acting and the cool new Indominus Rex compensates brilliantly for the bad jokes and hilariously bad acting that there was from time to time. I definitely would reccomend this to any fan of Jurassic Park. You will certainly be stunned by nostalgia. I even teared up a bit when the legendary theme played. Check it out! Expand

I felt like a kid again watching this! Though it doesn't have the same punch or as many awe-inspiring moments as the first Jurassic Park, this was a refreshing change of pace for the franchise. And even though The Lost World: Jurassic Park in my opinion is a very underrated film, Jurassic World is very worthy successor to the first movie and is a much needed improvement over the last two sequels, even The Lost World. I really enjoyed the fact that a lot of elements in the first movie make a comeback in this film. Chris Pratt's character is also the best the part of this movie and makes a lot of elements in this film that could have been super cheesy into cool and badass instead. My two major complaints though are that some of the supporting characters are not very well developed, and there are times where the movie gets very predictable. Other than that, have fun! It's a fun roller coaster ride with dinosaurs and is also the best Jurassic Park sequel to date. Expand

Jurassic Park is one of the greatest movies ever made. Lots of people have mixed feelings for The Lost World, and Jurassic Park 3 is just plain bad. This movie actually has spirit, and it doesn’t try to top the 1993 classic.

As I just stated Jurassic Park came out in 1993. The movie came out over 20 years ago.The accident happened 22 years ago. And it looks like billionaire Josh Hammond’s dreams of the park have officially come true. Jurassic World is now fully operational, and full of dinosaurs.

The park has been mastered for a while now, and it’s extremely popular. The park is a success, the crowd is having fun (kind of). Why Kind of? It seems like the crowd is… used to dinosaurs. So Dr. Henry Wu and fellow scientists create the Indominous Rex (this obviously backfires).

While the film is very different to the original, the narrative is very similar. Many people are comparing this film to Jurassic Park, but I don’t think that’s fair. After all this is a Hollywood Blockbuster. Like Godzilla and Pacific Rim, I think you should walk in knowing it’s a monster movie.

How was the Chris Pratt training Raptors scenes? Not perfect, but better than expected. How was the CGI? I think the CGI was good. There were a lot of moments where you could tell that it was CGI, but it didn’t bug me as much as I thought it would. How was the 3D? The 3D was fine. While it’s not necessary to watch this in 3D, it definitely doesn’t take away from the experience (see it in IMAX though).

I thought the acting was good. Chris Pratt knocks it out of the park once again. As I stated in the weekend box office article, this man is a star. You can tell just with the $200M plus money it did domestically opening weekend. Bryce Dallas Howard is pretty good. I think she did a really great job with what she was given.

The only character that comes back from the original Jurassic Park is B.D. Wong playing geneticist Henry Wu. Like, Bryce Dallas Howard she/he’s not perfect but for what he was given he was good. Vincent D’Onofrio was Ok, he was a little bit too over the top, and sometimes annoying, but then again he is VERY over the top in Daredevil (great show).

So, is this movie worth it? Yes, the movie is definitely worth it, it’s one of the funnest movies of the year so far. The movie is fun, it’s actually pretty intense and at times very suspenseful. So if you have not already (you probably have, I’m a little late) go watch this film.

Overall, Jurassic World has spirit, fun, it’s aware of what it is, and I think that if you go see this movie, you will have a lot of fun.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You know, I admit I was skeptical before going to see this movie, simply because of the fact that the previous sequels were terrible. But I was pleasantly surprised. Better plot, better acting, better direction. The characters were believable, the kids were as likeable as Lex and Timmy were in the original. It is what you expect from Steven Spielberg. I was wondering if they were going to include a cameo by any of the characters from the original, and they did, although it was a minor character. Remember the smug Asian scientist in the lab in the first one, who said, "Are you implying that a group composed entirely of females will...breed?" He is in this one also, 22 years older, still working in the lab. Lots of references to the original movie that felt nostalgic. I also noticed that some scenes must have been filmed at Universal Studios (This was a Universal movie) - we just returned from vacation during Spring Break where we visited Universal Studios, and we immediately recognized the long, steep escalator that takes you from the lower level where the JP ride is, to the upper level where the rest of the park is.

I did count about 3 plot holes, but what's a JP movie without plot holes, right? However, these were easy to ignore, and I didn't think about them until after we left. [SPOILER ALERT!]
They are as follows:
1. When the kids replaced the dead, corroded, 22-year old battery on the old gas Jeep, what did they use, another dead, corroded, 22-year-old battery?
2. When they discover the field full of dead Diplodoci, apparently killed for sport by the Hybrid, looking like the buffalo from Dances with Wolves, did each dinosaur patiently wait his turn to be attacked and killed, instead of fleeing, seeing how much time and effort it would take to kill each one? They're not going to die from being scratched in passing. Something caused them to drop all at once in the same place. Was the Hybrid using a machine gun?
3. When the boys' mom was crying while talking to her sister, she seemed really upset that the boys were left alone, saying that the older boy could be "really mean" - except we never see any evidence of this throughout the movie, and in fact he seems to be like a pretty normal teenager for the whole movie, changing from "disconnected" to compassionate toward his brother by the end.

I also noticed that the boys' mother had a bizarre relationship with her sons - she doted heavily on the younger son, giving him more respect (in fact, when we are first introduced to him, I assumed the son was autistic or something, because the mom was giving him "extra-special attention"). At the same time, she was treating her teenage son like crap, being condescending to him, treating him like a 3-year old and giving him no respect. I felt sorry for him. No wonder he wanted to bury himself in earphones and switch off to the world. Also the matter of the parents seeking divorce was never really addressed. For those who read Michael Crichton's original book, we knew that Lex and Tim's parents were divorced (or seeking a divorce), but it was never mentioned in the movie, and the kids certainly never shed any tears over it.

On another note, as a creationist, I had to ignore all the references to "millions of years ago" and the implication that dinos turned into birds (not physically possible, but that's another story.)
. But I was otherwise impressed with this movie, and It even received an ovation at the end. So if you just want a "fun" movie, go see it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jurassic World is more science fiction than the first Jurassic Park. I mean, we have the "Dr. Frankenstein" Dr. Henry Wu that I found surprisingly the true villain in the movie. The computer animation could use a little work, but it sure does look better than the Lost World does. I loved to see the dinosaurs, and even the new hybrid looked pretty cool! It is sure worth looking at it in 3-D, and it will more than likely have your heart pounding in some scenes. The raptors I can't understand, though. They are not near as fierce as they are in the first, and they look different. It's not like Jurassic Park 3 though. They looked ridiculous. Some people think this is a monster movie, but I think it is a movie with our relationship with animals. Some people don't see that, but I do. And Jurassic World was very well made. Expand

A fun thrill ride you'll want to take again. Not an intellectual movie, but that is ok. It is what it is, and it's damn good for it. This is a movie you can bring your family with. I would say it's 10 and up.

However, Bryce Dallas was very annoying and unappealing in this movie. For half of the movie while she is being chased and tossed around by killer dinosaurs, her hair stays perfectly blow-dried and styled as she minces around in stiletto high heel shoes. And then by the end of the movie we're supposed to believe that's she's somehow transformed into a Sigourney Weaver type of heroine who brandishes a military gun as well as a marine?

Hated her in this movie and the ten pounds of makeup and lipstick and hair spray she was coated with. It's similar to television shows or movies in which women in full makeup roll out of bed that way or go to sleep that way, when in reality it took a team of professional stylists two hours to apply all that heavy foundation, lipstick, false eyelashes, eye liner and mascara and concealer to their mugs. Would have been a better movie if a dinosaur gobbled her up in the first half hour!

Fast paced, fun action sequences were peppered with just enough gore to envoke those same feelings of heart stopping horror/thrill experienced in the first film. The CGI was generally good, though not brilliant, and the set design and cinematography were fantastic. The dialogue was witty and somewhat self-aware, which added a nice balance of humour to the film, and the performances were great from all cast members. The storyline was borderline ridiculous, but then, it wouldn't be a Jurassic Park movie if it wasn't. Well worth seeing on the big screen, this was a fantastic experience. 8.13/10 Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jurassic World, Settles in nicely with the Original Trilogy, Originally thought to be a Reboot by many, the film proves that to be wrong, having many nice nods for fans of the Original movie.

The film starts out fairly slow, introducing a family we don't get much to go off as far as character early on and talking about the development of the "indominus rex" Unfortunately that's the bad part of the film, its slow start.

It takes awhile to get interesting, but once that ball starts rolling it only manages to get more and more interesting, as you get to revisit locations from the original film, those with good eye for detail will notice small nods here and there, like the banner in the main lobby of the original building surrounded by the bones of Raptors.

The charm of this film really comes from its willingness to give nods to its roots, they even use a combination of Animatronic and CGI for its Dinosaurs, which I found a nice touch allowing me to really get into the Jurassic Park mindset.

Chris Pratt makes a convincing animal handler, actually doing things everyday animal handlers do with big predators.

Bryce Dallas Howard does a great job at being that Management type that only cares about the product until things get bad.

Vincent D'Onofrio dies a fantastic job at being the guy you know is upto no good and you love to hate him for it.

Every other actor in the film, unfortunately fall short, to two kids 'Gray' and 'Zach played by Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson really fall short in being convincing siblings for most of the movie.

The action was solid and kept me on the edge of my seat every time a moment got tense and I really LOVE that the T-Rex in this film is actually the T-Rex from the original Jurassic Park, seeing its original battle scars from the fight with the Raptors in the first film made me all giddy to realize it was the same Rex from my Childhood.

The one Raptor 'Blue' this is the name of the Beta Female Raptor that Chris Pratt's Character 'Owen' worked with and earned the trust of the pack, you could somewhat feel yourself actually growing an attachment to the Raptor, I like how they managed to fit a bit of personality and character into this Raptor, enough to make you feel tense when Blue is fighting.

Overall 'Jurassic World' is a great watch for fans of the original film, its full of small nods that you'll smile to see when you catch it, the kids will love the film, I mean its got Dinosaurs and Action what else could they ask for? Adults will find a splash of quirky romance that some may find charming.

I would recommend this movie and even re-watch it with friends and family.

My rating would have been higher if it wasn't for the slow start and dull acting from two members of the main cast.
