Guardians of the Galaxy, no. I'm not exactly their biggest fan. The story is great, but a lot of scenes sometimes come to me cringe, which is purely my opinion. A brilliant blend of action, comedy and drama. Every one of the guardians bring their A-game here in terms of emotion and charisma. My only issue was the generic villain.

My personal fav MCU Movie and what a movie it is. This entry has everything! You want comedy? You got it. You want a good story? You got it. You want great characters? You got it. Marvel at its riskiest and best. Every character is well fleshed out and mix together really well, the plot is exciting (and the characters keep it unpredictable), and the laughs and tears are all here.

The movie is a actual treat, the music is awesome, the plot is alright and the characters are fantastic. 99% the characters are memorable and the jokes in the movie are priceless. A instant recommend for anyone who enjoys Marvel.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a fun and comedic movie that has immense re-watch value. The script perfectly blends together humor and seriousness and gives each of the actors moments to shine and make us laugh, something we don’t get too much ofGuardians of the Galaxy is a fun and comedic movie that has immense re-watch value. The script perfectly blends together humor and seriousness and gives each of the actors moments to shine and make us laugh, something we don’t get too much of in other MCU films. GotG is a movie that understands that having fun is important to enjoying a movie but also that the fun has to be well executed to work. The actors all do great with their characters and bring a humorous personality to them which works well with the script. GotG is also a breath of fresh air, as the movie has no connection to the other installments in the MCU other than us knowing that it’s part of the cinematic universe, which allows us to get to know the characters without having any interference from the Avengers. Ronan isn’t the most compelling villain Marvel has ever come up with, but he is given enough backstory and is powerful enough to avoid the lackluster villain problem and pose a decent threat to our heroes. The action is solid, and the fights on the Dark Aster are entertaining. GotG is one of the funniest MCU movies and will be great for viewers looking for a few laughs.… Expand

I can't help but feel a little disappointed by "Guardians of the Galaxy". Sure, it has likeable characters with their own interesting backstories and personalities. It also has charm, wit, and good action/visuals. It has the typical elementsI can't help but feel a little disappointed by "Guardians of the Galaxy". Sure, it has likeable characters with their own interesting backstories and personalities. It also has charm, wit, and good action/visuals. It has the typical elements found in the Marvel Studios' hot streak of films since 2008's "Iron Man". However, it takes itself a touch too seriously which dampens its funny moments as well as slows down its plotline, which by the way, is an uninspired plot- fueled by a villain who is completely uninteresting and has cliché motives for his actions. Overall, it serves as a wacky action film that satisfyingly gets the job done and is worthy of repeated viewings despite its mediocre plot.… Expand

Oookkay, so this was a surprise. I mean, after Iron Man 3, it was a blast. And, it was the funniest movie of the year! bY fAr!! However, it got the most colorful brigade of intergalactic pirate S-holes in a movie ever. Uhm, yeah. The story was surprisingly interesting. And holy crap, it had a villain. A VILLAIN, that has no motivations, no past (and well, no future), nothing, just Thanos in the background as the boss (whose Loki wasn't a big deal, too), and a blue **** face! F***YEAH! I wonder why they needed another bad guy...except that, it was a wild ride. The wildest, and most eccentric that I've seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...oh, and it was cinematic.… Expand

For some reason, I remembered this movie as being the average prequel to GotG 2, which was a fantastic movie.
