Awesome movie!

Now the human elements are hard to keep up with especially the bad human's motivation. But the monster fights and fan service were awesome. I think it worked out.

I loved he used the music from the old films. The CGI in this film is the best yet. Way better than most films that have come out this year. The Fights are amazing. They felt like they were really there. The human Actors were ok. nothing groundbreaking with them. Charles Dance and Ken Watanabe Were amazing, they put 100% into what they do. I did notice some cliches that you can call out. But nothing that hurts the film.IDK what the critics are thinking. This proves that Critics have become more irrelevant in their reviews. If you are looking for a fun summer film this is it!
for any parents theres some swearing in there but nothing you wouldnt expect to see if this situation was really happening(your kids would have heard this).

it's a step up from the last film with nods to the older films (including using the original godzilla theme!).

The fights are satisfying and while there may be one or two moments that leave you questioning the actions of the human characters, there would be no film without those actions.

It takes place several years after the Godzilla and MUTO fight in San Fracisco and is about more monsters being released and beginning a fight for dominance. If that doesn't sound like a fun concept to you than you will not like this movie. I liked the 2014 film just fine but had a problem with there being only one real scene with Godzilla in all of his glory, so I was hopping this film would feature more of him and the other monsters and oh god this film certainly delivered on that front. The monsters design are all brilliant and the fights are all awesome. However this film does come with it's own fair share of problems. Like I said the concept is fun however the over all story get's kind of ridiculous and over complicated. You see they try to set up the debate that these giant monsters might be here to put humanity in check and save the environment by killing millions of people. Which is just stupid. This is a giant monster movie no one is going to buy a ticket to this film hoping to hear a debate on the human problem. They're going to see a giant monsters kill each other. Add that to the fact that most human characters are as generic as possible and some parts of this film feel like time wasters. Yet these problems don't bother me that much because there the problems I've come to expect from a Godzilla film. In conclusion if your a fan of Godzilla than you'll like this film if not than there is nothing here for you. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A little more human story than expected based on the critics reviews. I expected at least 60-70% screen time from the Kaiju, but you take what you can get really. Overall a well done effort that only suffered from an overabundance of human cast, that could have been accomplished with about half, and in half the time making more time for the Kaiju. I don't know if they're going to go any further than Kong on this, but I wouldn't mind seeing that post credits plot expanded more. Also my favorite Kaiju of all time Gigan needs some screen love in this style, here's hoping it does well enough for Legendary and WB to cut Toho a large enough check to make it happen. Expand

It is much closer to my favourite era films including Godzilla 2000 and Giant Monsters All Out Attack than anything else and i welcome that.
The plot is of insane eco-terrorists using the monsters to destroy most of humanity to save the world.
None of the dialogue, logic or plot devices make any sense but that was true in many Godzilla films.
What we do get is a lot of non-stop action, loud booming sound and hulk smash.
It's like they took all the Godzilla lore, theories and actions and threw them into a big pot and stirred them around. They even added some new lore to the mix.
There are little nods to the old dialogue and films thrown in .
Much better than the last 2.

Let’s begin with the actors. All the actors with exception of O’shea Jackson have pivitol roles, or at least deliver their lines, and emote their feelings with great professionalism. Mr Jackson is just a standard Jarhead with not much thought put in to his character. The plot. Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Browns character, are kidnapped by Charles Dance character to steal and use a machine that is capable of “controlling” the monsters. Charles Dances character wants to use the machine to destroy humanity, so that he can rebuild the planet, with the radiation the Titans emanate (the radiation causes the earths vegetation to grow exponentially) I want to remind you that Ghidorah (3 headed dragon) is not the main antagonist, he is just a plot device, a mindless creature that was set loose just like the Indominus Rex in Jurassic World. Charles Dance is the real antagonist. The rest of the cast aren’t really developed which isn’t bad, this is a summer monster movie after all. People complained how Millie Bobby Brown was just a 1 dimensional screaming girl. And my rebuttal is, wouldn’t you be the same in this apocalyptic crisis? I hate how leading roles who portray a normal person needs to have some “grand purpose” it just feels shoe horned in. If their is 2 things that I didn’t really like about the film, is how Millie Bobby Brown is able to steal the Orca device, and somehow know how to use it Now I’m not annoyed that she steals it, in the film, the terrorist and Charles Dances character are in a state of panic and distress. Their is no reason to guard the Orca, because 1. Vera Farmiga (supposedly) is the only person who knows how to use it. And 2. It’s the end of the world. The Orca is the last thing they want to touch, since it summoned all the monsters. (They wanted to release one monster at a time, released Ghidorah first and underestimated Ghidorahs power) I also didn’t quite understand why Vera Farmiga character wanted to use the monsters to redeem herself for the death of her son that died in the beginning during the San Francisco attack in 2014. The pacing was great! their are more monster scenes and less exposition in this one. Every scene had a reason for it to be there. If a fight wasn’t happening, the cast would explain why they are headed to a destination, or the motives of the terrorist. The CGI is good. People complain of how the scenes are dark or rainy but the reason why the films are portrayed that way is not just to show a sense of scale, but because these monsters are larger then life. The snow or rain effects are implemented to “distract” the audience to convey realism rather than a giant CGI monster. This tactic was used in other giant monster films like Pacific Rim. Movie directors want to implement humans as well as CGI so that we as an audience can get an idea of how massive these monsters are in comparison, without the human element, and just the single monster standing there, our perspective of the creature diminishes. My final thoughts are this. The plot of Godzilla KOTM is ridiculously over the top, but that doesn’t mean it’s flawed. There is a villain with a clear motive, and the protagonist have a goal to lure, direct, and even heal Godzilla to fight Ghidorah. (Because they tried to nuke them with a special weapon and it didn’t work) And that’s all that needs to be said. The radiation plot is a bit weird, but whatever. As long as the plot doesn’t contradict itself, we as an audience must not put our own sense of reality in a film devoid of any realistic properties. This is a movie of a monster fighting other monsters. Anyone who assumed that this film has a deep metaphorical meaning that makes you feel “smart” for figuring out the directors hidden messages; look else where, because Godzilla King of the Monsters Is not that movie. Just like a boxing match or a UFC fight, we watch them for the fight itself. If you want plot and motives and drama in your fights, then watch pro wrestling. Expand

After years of imagining how I'd do things differently than those who've gotten their inept hands on the franchise (post 1995), it's well satisfying to see someone get the Godzilla monsterverse RIGHT. It's as close to the movie that's lived in my head for the years I've wasted playing in bands & partying (instead of moving to L.A. & working hard to become a feature-length director myself) as I could pragmatically hope for. At long last, my inner - child who cried at the end of 'Godzilla: 1985' on VHS & had to wait a long, long time to see him return in Heisei flicks - can rest peacefully now that his hero has finally been done justice :] Expand

If you're looking for a jamboree of giant monsters fighting giant monsters then Godzilla, King of the Monsters is exactly what you're lookin gor.

Not to insult the quality of previous Godzilla movies, but the budget and modern CGI allow this film to reach a level never seen before. These are some pretty epic fights.

Director Michael Dougherty started off in animation and his previous films Trick 'r Treat and Krampus have already demonstrated his excellent visual eye, and he's still got the touch here. In comparison to the previous film, we get flying monsters, and the sky as a setting is used to great effect, including some neat storm and cloud shots. Nice use of underwater scenes, too. Some of the night or subterranean scenes are too darkly shot, but I do give Dougherty credit for excellently contrasting the darkness with bright lighting effects such as monster fire or spotlights.

Of the three American films, this feels the closest to the structure of a traditional Japanese Godzilla movie. If you weren't the biggest fan of our nation's previous attempts, either because of the lack of the big lizard's screentime in the last film or for many, many reasons for the 90's version, this may be what you're looking for.

Dougherty also seems to be a fan of the original films and there seems to be respect for the handling of the monster (no drastic deviations) and includes some franchise easter eggs. The music includes some impressive takes on such classic musical bits as Godzilla's and Mothra's themes. We get the three biggest Toho kaiju other than the big freen guy, Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidora. The first two are redesigned and I felt it worked. There were no real betrayals of the character. Ghidora on the other hand isn't really altered. They didn't really need to. He's so distinctive already: a three-headed/two-footed/two-tailed, golden dragon.

Ghidora, is Godzilla's most prominent adversary and the film made sure to hold him to that title. This is as much his film as the title character's. He's just so impressive and ferocious. hen you see a close-up of his heads, it is the only time when the CGI doesn't quite gel, but WI didn't think it was that much of an issue.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the human characters. I partially agree and disagree with these feelings. Running at 2 hr., 11min., some of their time could've been cut near the middle when they're just discussing and discussing and DISCUSSING! how to handle the monsters. I also felt the backstory of the lead played by Kyle Chandler was explained a little too quickly.

Still, I liked the cast and characters. Ken Watanabe continues to really sell his performance as the scientist in awe of Godzilla. Chandler's likable and sells his moments of anger. The movie takes some notes from Kong: Skull Island and adds a little comedy to the proceedings in the form of en Middleditch and Bradley Whitford who have some humorous lines. The eco-terrorist human villains are refreshing in that they don't feel broad like these type of movie villains often are.

Overall this movie runs too long and perhaps the human scenes aren't quite as enthralling as the monster parts. But the action, oh boy is it something to see.

The rest of them are silly, over-the-top monster mash films catering to our inner child, and these films have a very distinct style that often transcends broad B-Movie tropes alone. Doughtery's film taps mostly into the latter, but it is also a highly enjoyable love letter to the entire franchise, from two clear references to the 1954 original to a final battle hybridizing elements of "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2" and "Godzilla vs. Destroyah." This film is a blast if you go into it with proper expectations. Remember that the "serious" side of the Godzilla spectrum has been covered in two unique ways since 2014 (one a light environmental allegory and exercise in restraint, the other a lo-fi political satire). This one, on the other hand, strives to channel the most entertaining aspects of the Showa and Heisei films; it's Toho-style popcorn entertainment at its finest, and to view it with any type of lofty critical eye is to appear synonymous with some of the film's overly serious, unintentionally funny dialogue.

Sure, there have been some truly bad films that have been bailed out this way by fans (look at you, Bay-directed Transformers films), but hollow, robotic human characters are still better than overtly annoying, sometimes racist ones. Doughtery's human characters are here to dictate the flow of monster fights, and that's what they should be doing. Do their arcs leave something to be desired? Sure. Is the film's narrative messy? Oh yes. But these complaints are all but meaningless in a film featuring a giant atomic lizard, a three-headed alien dragon, a giant moth, a pteranodon, and bunch of other ridiculous **** (keep an eye out for the woolly mammoth kaiju). Just go see this film and have a blast, and if you're out of touch with this longstanding franchise, watch any title with "vs." in the title to properly prepare yourself.

So withI write this as a generation X kid that grew up watching Godzilla and Toho films on Saturdays. To this day, for some odd reason, Godzilla holds a special place in my heart; whether it's him himself or purely nostalgic I don't know. So with high expectations I caught this movie on the typical night before release - coming in on a full-on roller coaster ride of hype and doubts. For those that aren't into reading reviews longer than one paragraph: Did I like the movie? No. I left my seat deflated and disappointed. I hoped for a film for those of us that grew up with Toho, those of us that aren't ten-years-old and don't care for the unnatural pacing and characters of films like Star Wars and Marvel, where it's one unbelievably happenstance thing after the next.

Let me say a few things I did like, and I admit, there is not many. I do like that you can now hear some of that iconic Godzilla roar in this mixed in with the new. There are some truly beautiful scenes of Godzilla and Mothra early on - which almost make the price of admission worth it alone. I do like Watanabe's last scene in the film, though to avoid spoilers, cannot go into that. Overall, I do like the monster designs.

Now we come to the part of this review that pains me to write...

All this talk of the monsters being the focal point of the film is absurd. The true stars here are Watanabe, Chandler, Farmiga, and Eleven from Stranger Things playing Eleven from Stranger Things. In all sincerity, Godzilla and the others are the supporting cast. What this left me with was a plot that was chock full of humans in the worst way; and I mean a very large human cast, where they by and large offer nothing but a skin deep plot to steer the movie forward. With their prominence in this film the only thing they contribute is characters that would fit into any Transformers movie. Simply put, all characters, with the exception of Watanabe's, are no good. We also get the very banal characters from the 2014 film, such as the admiral and Watanbe's genric aide, played by Sally Hawkins - and then some. Filling in for the famous twin Mothra fairies is a woman that adds drivel via her research on what looks like Wikipedia or another online encyclopedia. We also can't forget to mention the Hokey politicians and Monarch soldiers that are there for tired quips that lack wit. The villains in this film rival those of Star Wars' New Order; their story is so little told it could fit into a TV advert - they don't really matter. Charles Dance's character also doesn't matter. So what are we left with? A cast, the true stars of this film, jerking back and forth in character (Chandler), and the rest levying 'witty' comments, having an explanation for everything to handhold the audience, and reacting on a dime to everything at every turn... Literally, they look right just in time and something happens. Then they look left and, again, just in time, something happens. And so on...

The hand-holding of the characters and writing is so bad that, for instance, a video conference call between Farmiga and Chandler is accompanied by a short film. I guess the characters in this world create video presentations prior to calling one another. In reality, if your dialog is so weak and can't deliver or stand on its own, and requires the use of visual aids, it just doesn't work.

We have been primed going in to believe that they are the true stars of this film. Regardless how well they are designed, they are, as stated above, a supporting cast. For some of you the truth of this will come later once the dust and hype settles, and for others, it will take someone compiling a video of all Godzilla footage out of the two plus hours run time, and uploading it to YouTube - and it will be a small fraction of that two hours (oh, but not that human cast - they are in there for the duration). At every possible moment this large human cast is in the way. Whether it is during fight scenes or not, we are constantly being pulled away and led by the hand to see foot and claw from their perspective. I understand the desire to illustrate scale, but surely this doesn't mean we need to be constantly bludgeoned over the head to be reminded of it. Even when it comes to the final showdown between Godzilla and Ghidorah, the creators felt the need to busy the audience with characters doing dumb things that don't matter - or worse yet, are plot devices of the most worst kind.

The final battle also concludes in the worst possible way. It's offending how cheap and contrived it is... The ending and the buildup to it also flies in the face of the King of Monsters - the guardian of the natural world - Godzilla. It's the ultimate cheap shot. This is followed by showing additional titans - most having never been seen on any Toho film. There is no Gigan, no Baragon, no Megalon - none of them. And why weren't they there at the end to bend a knee?!? It would have left things off on the highest possible note.

10/10: a near perfect representation of the Godzilla movies I had the most fun with over the course of my life.

It's no '54 in terms of tone and story, but if you average out Godzilla films over the course of 65 years, KOTM is far more fitting to that average than '54, 2014, or Shin Godzilla.

This is Invasion of Astro Monster, or Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, with a 200 mil dollar budget. They absolutely nail the feel of of what it means to be an action oriented Godzilla film. The Kaiju are represented with shocking (for Hollywood translations) precision and faithfulness.

There's been much gnashing of teeth by Esteemed Critics about the "human story" or lack thereof...

It's not The Dark Knight, but any fan of Godzilla films, or summer blockbusters in general, will be pleasantly surprised by the acting and overall story. Ken Wantanabe and a few others really stand out. The humans never get in the way of the fighting and Kaiju, which the first movie suffered from (according to many, myself included). I found the story more interesting than 2014s. That being said, it is FAR less grounded of a story than 2014, but it's relatively tame in terms of "out there" compared to many Godzilla films. It's very fast paced, thrown at you without much fanfare or explanation, and serves the point of getting us to the battles in some kind of sensible fashion. It's the weakest part, but not even close to weak enough to sour the film... Because...

The Kaiju battles are the best we've ever seen, in any movie, ever. It's not even close. I was smiling the cheering the whole time, like a child. I kept saying out loud "holy **** that's **** awesome". The Monster battles absolutely makes this movie what it is...

A classic, quintessential Godzilla film. Fans rejoice, the Godzilla you dreamed about is here. Those less inclined towards Godzilla, just go have fun with it!

It's too bad, because the production value is incredibly high, but they must have gotten some intern to write the script for free. It doesn't seem like it should be this difficult to have a decent story for the human characters in a movie about giant monsters. But honestly all the characters here are so alien, all I can think is that the writers just didn't have any ideas at all and decided to go with something that couldn't be called offensive by anyone. This is a movie to rent for cheap and fast forward through every single moment that doesn't feature the creatures on screen. Oh and the trailer is deceptive, it has very little to do with the girl, it's more about her parents if anything Expand

The problem of this film is typical in all Godzilla films. With all these monsters bashing each other out, who needs the human characters? They are played well, but at the end of the day, they are clearly not the focus of the movie. As such, the unfolding story line rings hollow, as clearly they are just padding until the next set piece. On a more positive note, the monsters...wow. Seeing Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra on screen using modern CGI is a sight to behold and worth the price of admission. Expand

These days if the plot isn't full of liberal progressive content to push their political agenda, its an automatic failure in their eyes. Thankfully, Godzilla isn't full of that garbage. The only people I can think who shouldn't see this movie, are those looking for a deep story type movie. This is classic movie making mixed with current day effects. Its a fun, exciting movie. This is the movie you go to, and just enjoy the experience. I don't want to spoil anything, but highly recommend going to see it for the fun action alone. I gave it an 8 only because the story, and some of the dialogue is corny at times. It was still a lot of fun, and Ill be seeing a second time for sure. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This film lacked spent so much time hyping up the fights between the Godzilla and Ghidorah and after what feels like an eternity having to wade through poor dialogue between underdeveloped characters pushing attempting to push forward a weak plot you finally see the two fight for possibly three minutes. This is then followed by nearly another hour of setting development (the world is being destroyed by the Titans) until we finally see some real monster on monster action. The CGI was not particularly exceptional, for instance, close-ups on Ghidorah's heads looked awful in comparison to the CGI of the dragons in Game of Thrones, yet Godzilla looked to be rendered in remarkably higher quality. The ending fight was rather enjoyable, Thermonuclear Godzilla was a spectacle and satisfying finale to the Ghidora and Godzilla brawl. All in all the film would have been better suited if they had removed many of the horrendous one-liner cuts to and from both the main characters and supporting characters especially in the middle of action sequences. In reality, Thomas Middleditch's character felt far more developed and as if he belonged in this story than the characters of Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, and Millie Bobby Brown. A tremendous disappointment! Expand

Critics liked 2014 version better for the “human drama” while audiences fell asleep as Godzilla barely appeared in his own movie. In this movie that’s reversed. Monsters are the focus and their fights are spectacular and given abundant attention while human characters serve to advance the monster story vice versa. This is how a real giant monster movie should be, no matter how much “critics” disagree. The monster also stands taller than comparable movies like Pacific Rim and has much for visceral, intense and spectacular fights. All in all, this is THE giant monster movie. Expand

However, they use the flaws of this movie to put it way down. Expect the flaws, but the movie has incredibly redeemable qualities. The titan fights and all scenes that has anything to do with Titans are incredibly entertaining. The actors were considered the biggest flop in this movie (rightfully so), but a lot of other lead actors redeemed some of that. The film has great pacing to be entertaining without exhausting the viewer, which is perfect for a summer blockbuster.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, is the movie better than the 2014 reboot? No. Is it a lot more entertaining? In a lot of ways yes. The movie was cliche, some bad acting, and felt a little too simple at times. But has all the qualities to be a fun summer blockbuster, this movie is obviously not seeking to be one of the best Godzilla movies ever. It’s just supposed to be a bunch of fun and if you’re a classic Godzilla fan, you’d understand that a lot of Godzilla (not all) movies do just that. They just have a bunch of fun. Unlike the 2014 reboot where it was fun and cool yet also very serious and had more realistic plot layout. That film was a better quality movie. But I’ve never seen a movie rated so low for the cons while not praising the pros nearly at all.

Go watch this movie and watch it for what it is. It’s a classic fun-to-watch Godzilla kaiju battling movie that shouldn’t be taken so seriously.

what makes it bad: a lot of it is very messy which can make it difficult to tell what is going on. if you thought pacific rim was hard to follow at times, then this is worse in that respect. the pacing is not great, and there are lots and lots of characters with not enough real focus on any of them so it's hard to care about them a lot.
what makes it good: fanservice! there is a lot of good stuff here for people who like godzilla stuff. at some points during the movie there are some amazing shots and some really cool events. the story of the monsters themselves is interesting and well done.

That's what makes a Godzilla movie, a GODZILLA MOVIE. It is an intense ride that any Godzilla fan or normal movie goer should enjoy. Take the movie as a monster movie and let the human parts carry along the exposition that helps people who may not be familiar with the universe catch up to speed. I didn't read all the bad reviews and to be true I can't understand them. I went to the cinema without too much expectation but I hoped to see more Monster fights in reference from what we saw in Godzilla 2014. And I was not disappointed. Most bad critics for the last movie were because there was just fighting by the end of the movie and now we get much more fighting, more monsters and also a "human-plot". To be honest there were moments when I sit in the cinema and thought "really?" "Why did they do this?" but for me a lacking "human-plot" in a Godzilla movie isn't this much important. I want to see Monsters fighting and I saw some epic ones. They also added classic soundtrack into the movie, it had a very nostalgic feeling. So all in all I give the movie a 9 of 10 cause I liked it very much but here and there wer some "Plot-lacking" moments (at least for me). Sorry if there are some language mistakes in the text. Best

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie goes back to Godzilla's root story. Set up like a traditional Godzilla movie. A movie that true godzilla fans can Appriciate. The extraterrestrial Ghidorah vs. Godzilla, The king of the monsters, Mothra, "Queen of the monsters" vs Rodan, "The fire demon." The first gods. In the movie, you follow monarch as these monsters rise up. Ghidorah controls the other monsters to tear the earth apart until humanity can step in and help Godzilla. With the help of the humans, godzilla can fight amd destroy Ghidorah. The fight scenes were worth the wait of the plot being set up. The CGI did the movie good. Several times I was about jumping out of the seat. The monsters were so beautiful. They resembled the monsters from previous movies (even including the Oxygen destroyer). If you grew up with Godzilla or are a Fan of the older movies, you will love this movie. I left the theater shaking. If you watch this movie, remember to stay for the end credit scene! This has become my favorite movie for sure! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Now, most of you would think that the Godzilla sequel would be a lot better than the original from 2014 after watching 3 trailers and a few Tv Spots. To be honest, I was thinking the exact thing but after I watched the movie (at midnight), I was confused with how would I rate the sequel. It though was entertaining, but it also had various issues. The sequel showed us a lot more entertaining content, many Kaiju monsters made an appearance here, Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah and countless others (not really!). From the trailer, we could see them waking up from nature and started battling without knowing where the good side is and the bad one is. The various issues I mentioned came from the performances, the acting. The movie starred Kyle Chandler as Mark Russell, Vera Farmiga as Emma Russell, Milly Bobby Brown (Y’all know her as Eleven from Stranger Things) as Madison Russell and of course, Ken Watanabe as Dr. Serizawa as he appeared in the first movie. Gotta be honest, the acting was really disappointing, the movie didn’t even care about them and they just acted like people who wanted to be a machine or a robot (maybe?). Their screenshorts weren’t much but I’ve gotta say, Milly Bobby Brown wasn’t as good as I thought she was going to be, like she hadn’t much to do in this movie. All she did was to sit down and weep until something came as a surprise, even when she came back home, she screamed and also covered her ears, even when Ghidorah was going to kill her, she didn’t run away, but instead, she screamed. The other casts, they didn’t had much to do as well and I was a bit disappointed in Ken Watanabe as Dr. Serizawa. He didn’t lead much in the movie, it was left to the military and we didn’t get much screenshots of him. Another big problem about the acting is the deaths, and these deaths are no unnecessary. It’s not like normal deaths. They’re deaths of the main characters, some made sacrifices and some accidentally died. However, the characters who were alive didn’t think about it like they’re robots, a non-human being. They didn’t even have a reaction, especially when Dr. Serizawa made his and Dr. Vivienne Graham (Sally Hawkins)’s. Chen (Zhang Ziyi) was just like “for Serizawa” without tears when we got to the final battle. In short, the acting was emotionless. The script was also kinda badly written as there was not much for the characters to say, to discuss about some issues they’re having. It’s just that the human characters can talk so they need to have more to discuss. I did hear some of their long discussions but they were a bit confusing and non-fans would find them annoying and hard to understand as they don’t know what’s going on with the movie. Everybody is true, the whole movie was completely entertaining and that’s a bit of a problem. We could see lots and lots of action sequences. Monsters here and there, biting others, eating and destroying buildings (that’s what American Godzilla Movies are meant to be for fans). There were lots of military forces on Godzilla’s side and everything went chaotic. And the final battle was 98% epic with spectacular cinematography and outstanding visual effects (98% AWESOME). I was really impressed with what they’ve done for 5 years (well, not much really!). The problem is that they had like too much screenshots on the battles but the monsters still didn’t get enough screen time and so were the human characters. That’s a really big issue here. Therefore, many scenes that were unnecessary scenes are completely forgettable, even the jokes I laughed at, I could barely remember. It’s just something that should be added to the “Deleted Scenes”. That’s everything I could review about the sequel. It was extremely exciting, entertaining with its EPIC battles and jaw-dropping VFX, but those things couldn’t make the story any better. The key to a good story was a really big chance but the chance was wasted over the disappointing performances and as a Godzilla fan, I was half positive and half negative so let’s just call this mixed. Ratings: 6.5/10 Expand
