#Cruella was one of the BEST movies ive seen in years! Go see it. You'll be surprised at what the movie actually is and how well it tells its story. I know thats vague but im not one to spoil things!

Entertaining, well produced 'prequel' to the 101 Dalmatians may be contrived in concept, but is so well acted, with great costuming and make up, that you will go with the ride. An origin story on how Cruella de Vil came to be, this film stars Emma Stone as Estella, a girl with a tragic past who starts out innocent, but through acts of vengeance and intuition, rises through the ranks and against her scheming fashionAn origin story on how Cruella de Vil came to be, this film stars Emma Stone as Estella, a girl with a tragic past who starts out innocent, but through acts of vengeance and intuition, rises through the ranks and against her scheming fashion designer boss (played by a very nasty Emma Thompson) to become one of Disney's most frightening and recognizable villains. Stone's casting in the titular role had me excited for this film from the very get go, as she's undoubtedly one of my favorite actresses. And man, did she deliver! She blew this film right out of the park with her supremely confident, charming, but equally sadistic performance! She's EASILY the best part of the whole film, just as I'd suspected she'd be! Thompson also delivers what's undoubtedly her most sinister and intimidating performance to date as the main villain of the film. Storywise, while it does follow a lot of the familiar tropes and beats of a prequel/origin story, things are kept pretty fresh for the most part thanks to several elaborate set pieces and spectacles throughout. The production design and costume design were the next biggest highlight for me. Surprisingly, there's also a pretty killer classic rock soundtrack that accompanied this film that never felt hokey or distracting at all. It actually made the film feel pretty hip and cool in an unforced way somehow, which, like I said, really surprised me. Overall though, despite the formulaic origin story approach, my expectations for this were actually exceeded a little bit, due largely in part to Stone's absolutely amazing lead performance (seriously, she's reason enough to check this film out!), as well as the captivating production and costume design throughout. And plus, the film is really just a lot of fun! Seriously, I enjoyed this one a lot more than I already knew I would!… Expand

This is a brilliant movie. It has a clever backstory to Cruella of the cartoon version. The casting is marvelous, the costuming is fun, and there's a continuous stream of perfectly curated songs to go with this entertaining story.

Such an amazing Disney film! I love how this movie gave all the twist for Cruella's life story. At the very beginning of the movie, it was really captivating already. The fashion sense of this film is beyond superb, I love how the movie become classic with a taste of good fashion. Everything about this film is a revolution from how it all started and how it ended that way, with a twist banger. Emma done it again, I love her punk rock look type of Cruella in the movie which also matches the background music of the film. Thank God this is a great live adaptation film that I can recommend for all to watch. There is magic on this film that will make you love the story, the characters and also it is a film that you can definitely watch all over again.… Expand

This film exceeded all of my wildest expectations. I did not find it exceedingly dark in that I was uncomfortable having my younger daughter with me. She doesn't frighten easily though. The story which I thought was predictable at first, turned out to provide many twists I was not expecting. I really felt empathy for Cruella and her character was very humanized after watching this. To me, the mix of fashion, cinematography, excellent song choices and exceptional acting by both Emma Stone and Emma Thompson; made this the coolest movie I have seen in quite a while. I was amazed I was watching a Disney movie in fact. I love Disney, but if I am looking for an edgy, avant garde film, Disney is not what comes to mind. I honestly would not be surprised if this film gathers many award nominations, especially in acting, art direction and costuming.… Expand

This movie is so faithful to the Original, and the Humor of this film is perfectly executed.

This movie also proves that all Villains never are a Villain at the start, they are Villains because they seek redemption. And the Ending is great!

Manages to work despite it making Cruella likable and gives her a good reason not to like Dalmatians. Since the heist scenes, performances and music choices are all perfect. The direction is fine as well.

Except Cruella in this doesn’t want to kill animals and wear them. So what is the point of her name even being Cruella Devil ?
It’s like what Disney did to Maleficent who was a nice fairy until her wings were cut off. There was no sign of the evil villain from Sleeping Beauty. Here, there’s no sign of the evil villain from One Hundred and One Dalmatians either.
Since spoiler, she even eventually owns Dalmatians. The film does give her a good reason not to like them but this version of Cruella acts like she would never kill a dog. Despite that this is a fun and entertaining movie that really had no point in being made. Since like Maleficent it makes an evil villain good. It’s like if Disney makes a prequel movie about Palpatine from Star Wars except he is never actually evil or the bad guy.… Expand

Unexpectedly I quite enjoyed this movie even though at first wasnt even sure will watch it. Acting is very good also, so yeah in the end the movie is very good too which I didn't expect.
