I would just go read user TVJerry’s review. But here’s A slightly worse review if you’re into that sort of thing:

Interesting premise. Other than that, its body mutilation porn, rationalized as a something more artistic, which incidentally is what everyone in the movie also does. If you’ve got some body mutilation challenges I would recommend talking with some good friends and a therapist first, but if you want to lean into that, this movie seems sadly designed for that.

Cronenberg has made some good body horror in the past, but this was just rubbish.

Very artsy fartsy, I can not really find any appeal to the movie other than the cast and some very few interesting shocker-moments. I don't recommend this movie.

Scenes of disgust that range from "what the f" to *gag* to "that's just straight up wrong".
Dialogue with the emotional range of a carrot.
The main character communicating entirely in barely intelligible hoarse grunts.
A plot where weird things are introduced, and then explained a few scenes later, on repeat.
And then it just...ends.
Absolute waste of time and I feel stupider for watching it.

Viggo Mortensen and Léa Seydoux play performance artists in a world where people can grow new unidentified organs. This introduces the theme around organic vs synthetic life forms. That's about all there is for a plot. There are a couple of other story dead-ends that just confuse matters. Basically, it's a lot of confusing mumbo jumbo in darkly lit, grungy environments. The actors are certainly committed, esp. Kristen Stewart's awkward manner. Add in the director's love for sinister pulsing organs and weird bone chairs and you have a surreal drama about human evolution that's slow and meaningless. Expand

Disappointed in Cronenberg, this movie feels like it started off as a short concept film that was painfully transformed into a feature but without the actual mental gymnastics and labor to do so to execute anything decent. Pretty repulsive at times to borderline unwatchable at others. Horrible and pointless with broken themes and disjointed continuity and flow. Expand

Dreadfully boring and hard to follow. I fell asleep. I only decided to watch it because I love horror movies and because it got generally favorable reviews on Metacritic.
