This subsequent film is nowhere closer as having Azamat's fat hairy balls sitting on Borat’s face naked while fighting over Pamela Anderson master-laughter level, but it is definitely worth your time seeing Borat go naughty-naughty to those that he crosses paths with in Trump/Pennis’ America with his 15 year old Daughter exposing what's real or not – great success!… Expand

Borat is a funny film, but also very sad. As dressing up as a plethora of cliche characters, Sacha Baron Cohen brings up the worst aspects of a messed up way of thinking. Wayyyy too many people crying because their political feelings got hurt, this movie is very similar to the first with a political spin on it, ignore all the 1's and 0's and just go see it, if you liked the first you'll like this one.

There were some parts that made me laugh really hard. It's a fun movie. The reason my rating isn't very high is because as the film progresses.. it starts to feel very rushed. Towards the end I was really just waiting for it to be over.

I made an account just to review this film - after having watched the original in total over thirty times over the years. In fairness, it's not as original as the first and some jokes feel somewhat recycled. In fairness, it's not as original as the first and some jokes feel somewhat recycled. But by God look at how triggered some people on the political spectrum are about this film, but listen here; in Borat 1 people were ridiculed in the same way as people are ridiculed in this film. They are ridiculed primarily for their MORAL views (right to self determination/abortion, feminism etc). Look at how many people conflate moral views with political views in this comment section, almost everybody. Thereby people think the movie is mocking a specific political colour as opposed to poking fun at poor morals. If these people would rewatch Borat 1 with their current mindset they'd critique it for the same thing as they are critiquing the current movie - 'political propaganda'. Borat hasn't become more political, rather, western (particularly American) culture has!

In sum : This movie, just like Borat 1, is poking fun at poorly developed morality (anti-feminism, rejecting abortion). Just because the current political culture conflates and links morality with political colours does not make this a political film. This is EXACTLY a current societal development that this movie is trying to highlight you absolute snowflakes.

People who think this film is political propaganda have been wooshed by fricking Borat. Brains the size of squirrels, no doubt.… Expand

Cohen's "gotcha" shtick has become a bit too "try hard". Everything now seems to rely more on bad-taste "humor" and creative editing, rather than the semi-genuine "locals don't understand foreigners" awkwardness of the first one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An absolute let down compared to the original. While the original poked at issues so ridiculous that they are funny, this one was mostly American left wing talking points which wouldn’t be understood by people who aren’t up to date with American politics.

As the rating may suggest, I am republican. And I do laugh at jokes about my side, such as the one in which Borat dresses as a KKK member and crashes the CPAC. Nothing else crossed that line where you know it’s downright funny. Every other attempted political joke was actually a common left wing talking point, such as disdain for the pro-life movement, fear of guns, ALM being apparently racist, and so on. The actor himself admitted that he released this movie at the time he did, to prevent women from voting Trump. This was pushed through footage of Trump before he got into politics and before he was scrutinized so much. He has since come out and apologized for the comments. Ideally I’d be giving the movie a pass since it was meant to be a satirical movie, but the entire premise of the movie was based on this comment which can be misleading.

The movie also smeared Rudy Giuliani. The actor then came out and said the whole Giuliani scene was done with consent. But apologies don’t work, do they Sacha? If they did you wouldn’t be bashing Trump based off a comment he apologized for.

The last part, which demonized America based off of a few people, was the main statement which showed how the movie has changed. Borat has gone from a sexist anti-Semite, to a typical leftist who posts Instagram stories from feminist pages. Of course it ended with a please vote, and we know who he wants us to vote for.

The non-political humor was a mixed bag. It contained a lot of female genitalia jokes which aren’t good when you’re eating food during the movie. On the bright side, there was a funny depiction of a Jew, but even that ended in a wholesome moment rather than the frantic escape from the Jews’ house we saw in Borat 1.

The good political jokes were the parts where he did cross the line between left wing activism and dark humor: the aforementioned KKK joke, the entire CPAC scene, and his song about covid-19.… Expand

Honestly, I expected way more than I saw. 2006 movie had me rolling of laugh, but this one... This one is just lame. The only thing I really liked about this movie is the soundtrack (saying that as a Serb).

Giving it a 2, and that's more than it deserves. The movie was extremely boring for the most part. It ended up being one man's political circle jerk. SBC took what was once a good thing and just made it sad and extremely pathetic.

SBC brought witty humour. Maria Bakalova brought "HAha Vagina" jokes. Reminded me of Amy Schumer's attempt at comedy. Struggled to continue watching the film after the halfway point. Absolutely loved the original Borat film.

This is a waste of an excellent franchise. Surely not to be compared with the first one, which packed genuine laughs rather than ones motivated and filled in messages about racial justice, feminism, LGBTQ, etc. Why couldnt this have been just plain fun like last time? Sasha B should know Americans hate subtitles, which you have to read for a third of the film. There's really no reason they couldn't just speak English with their accents. I thought this film was stupid and parts disgusting, like the Kazak fertility dance. Prepare yourself to be grossed out over the latter. I was. Spend the hour and a half watching just about anything else instead. You'll be doing yourself a favor.

I feel like if you gave this movie a 10 is for political reasons because I don't see how someone can find this movie comparable to the first one.
The original Borat is probably one of the best comedy movies ever made.
This one is way far from that.

As usual the movies from Sacha Baron Cohen are not that good if there are too many scripted scenes and a story. So the best scenes are the one who are real and spontaneously.
