It's pretty garbage, I loved the original and was expexting this to be a trash fire because comedy is dead. There is only one type of humour allowed in the mainstream and it is getting old, Get Woke Go Broke!!!

This film is comparable to watching the heavily politicized late night comedy which is so prevalent these days. Obviously it is extremely biased and, needless to say, those on the Left aren't mocked at all. Having said that, if you enjoy SNL or typical late night humor you'd probably enjoy it; plenty of "Orange Man Bad" to go around. P.S. Original Borat firm was probably my favorite comedy movies of all time. It Sucks Cohen became so political. Expand

The movie should be called "Vote Democrats", considering how politically biased it was and not even funny. The jokes felt staged compared to the first one. This woke culture is ruining entertainment in general.

Borat was a great movie. This one is not.
The rehearsed dialogs on this film cannot compete with the freshness of the first film. I am not American however I cannot understand how a comedic film was transformed in political propaganda.

It worksBorat 2 does not have the shock or laugh value that the original Borat had in 2006. Borat (and by extension Sacha Baron Cohen) works when it is able to put people in uncompromising situations ultimately revealing who they truly are. It works on the belief that there can't possibly be people that racist, that misogynist or that ignorant in the US. The first film released when there was no social media, and when Youtube was barely getting started. It was shocking and hard to believe that the people showcased actually existed, they were more like a myth - hence some really funny moments that required virtually no effort.

The sequel however feels forced. In the social media age, where we are constantly bombarded with short videos of 'Karens', Jordan Klepper interviews and the at times unbelievable and ridiculous White House show, Borat 2 loses it's shock value. The ultimate endgame for Borat 2 is the much publicised Giuliani scene, but it is neither funny nor shocking, rather it was completely expected. The same goes for the political rally where Borat starts a sing along. We've seen scenes like this everyday for nearly 5 years - the people filmed aren't acting 'out of the ordinary' anymore. The gaps in between are filled with cringy attempts to force laughs. At no point does the film organically make you laugh.

Save yourself some time, just watch the trailers, you'll see everything that the movie has to offer - and more as there's a bonus scene in the trailer that got cut from the final film.

Borat 1 is gold of humor as well as Ali G. Many fans were dreamin about a return of Borat but even Sasha told many times ,its not gonna happen. But suddenly got this. Not only it was not funny, i had to basically skip lots of stuff cause it was just trashy bad. Side kick actress who cant act at all , ruins the movie even more. And ofcourse Giuliani scene that was talked as “outrageous stuff you have to see”. If it was year 2000 , they wouldve let the scene go until he pulled his D out at least. This movie doesnt qualify even for random netflix garbage movie/series.

It ruins what makes the first movie so great by pumping it full of political garbage. It is essentially an hour and a half of propaganda telling you to vote democrat. The first movie was so good because of the stupid things that borat did along with the genuine reactions from people borat interacts with. This movie takes both of those things away and instead turns borat into an sjw by the end of the movie telling the audience to vote a specific way in the election. That is this movies entire purpose. Nobody will watch this over the first movie and it will lose its purpose in a few months. On top of this, it appears that there are numerous scenes that are heavily scripted to continue the story. This is something the first movie had no problem with and it also takes away what everyone was wanting to see more of. The scenes that are supposed to make you go "wow i cant believe he said/did that" come off very underwhelming. This also ruins the character of borat. He was always the person you laughed at in the first movie. You were never supposed to agree with borat but the sequel tries to turn him into someone to look up to. This could have worked if it was its own movie but the retards writing the movie forgot it was a sequel. The idea of a sequel to borat in 2020 had so much potential but it ends up being a useless pile of garbage that goes against everything that made the first movie one of my favorites. **** Borat 2. What worked with the first movie was that Borat played the role of a man completely disconnected from American norms. He was unconsciously sexist, racist, and overall bigoted. It made for funny moments when he would pretend to unknowingly make fun of someone or act in a way one wouldn’t in this country. Also, the reactions to his character were real, and you could tell.

The sequel just doesn’t live up to the original, I’m afraid. It is extremely liberal and the character of Borat is pretty much entirely different from the original. Instead of being a lovable jackass, he’s a super-conscious talking head, which just doesn’t make for a fun comedy. Aside from that, a lot of this movie just felt scripted, as if all the reactions were written into the movie, not naturally delivered from unsuspecting citizens.

To top off the mediocrity, Borat tells the viewer to go and vote, which just felt like a spit in the face to the viewers’ intelligence.

In my honest opinion, the funniest media is politically neutral. That way, there isn’t a bias towards a certain party, and they are able to look at both sides equally and find flaws in both they parties can make jokes out of. Also, being unself-aware of one’s own bias makes the comedian look dumb and makes his work less effective.

There were spots in the movie where some of the magic of the original shined (the KKK costume at the CPAC comes to mind), but for the most part, it was just another propagandist comedy that can be tossed into the bunch of socially-conscious garbage Hollywood loves to churn out.

(PS, the score on this review wouldn’t have changed if this movie were making fun of the left instead of the right. The fact that this movie took a certain side isn’t what ruins it, it’s that it took a side at all.)

The first movie was incredible, and the sequel somehow managed to get rid of every thing that made the original great. The daughter was annoying. There was hardly a joke that wasn’t about Trump, and devolved into full liberal propaganda by the end as they set up giuliani to look like he was making moves on the actress. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An absolute let down compared to the original. While the original poked at issues so ridiculous that they are funny, this one was mostly American left wing talking points which wouldn’t be understood by people who aren’t up to date with American politics.

As the rating may suggest, I am republican. And I do laugh at jokes about my side, such as the one in which Borat dresses as a KKK member and crashes the CPAC. Nothing else crossed that line where you know it’s downright funny. Every other attempted political joke was actually a common left wing talking point, such as disdain for the pro-life movement, fear of guns, ALM being apparently racist, and so on. The actor himself admitted that he released this movie at the time he did, to prevent women from voting Trump. This was pushed through footage of Trump before he got into politics and before he was scrutinized so much. He has since come out and apologized for the comments. Ideally I’d be giving the movie a pass since it was meant to be a satirical movie, but the entire premise of the movie was based on this comment which can be misleading.

The movie also smeared Rudy Giuliani. The actor then came out and said the whole Giuliani scene was done with consent. But apologies don’t work, do they Sacha? If they did you wouldn’t be bashing Trump based off a comment he apologized for.

The last part, which demonized America based off of a few people, was the main statement which showed how the movie has changed. Borat has gone from a sexist anti-Semite, to a typical leftist who posts Instagram stories from feminist pages. Of course it ended with a please vote, and we know who he wants us to vote for.

The non-political humor was a mixed bag. It contained a lot of female genitalia jokes which aren’t good when you’re eating food during the movie. On the bright side, there was a funny depiction of a Jew, but even that ended in a wholesome moment rather than the frantic escape from the Jews’ house we saw in Borat 1.

The good political jokes were the parts where he did cross the line between left wing activism and dark humor: the aforementioned KKK joke, the entire CPAC scene, and his song about covid-19.

Simply, there is no spirit with the improvised scenes of 2006 movie. Even if they tried to improvize now, it just looked silly. It looks like that Sascha Baron Cohen didn't want to take too many risks like in 2006 movie. In one word: disappointing.

it's a big, fat zero from me, it's not a film, it's not a comedy, it's just a very common way to jump on needle of liberal social agreement and likes, nothing more...

Another comedy that's been poisoned by political propaganda. Why does every form of entertainment have to be an ad for the left's political garbage. It's exhausting.

Didn’t really land as genuine as the first, I thought it was funny but a poor sequel to what is in my opinion one of the most hilarious movies of all time.

I guess the only way he could get it funded was to put feminist and woke propaganda in the entire film. The fist film is one of my favorites and Borat is a great character. This movie is very crude and disgusting especially with the daughter storyline. It was just disgusting feminist propaganda. Towards the end he even says "may the patriarchy burn in hell". No wonder movies are struggling at the box office. Get woke, go broke! Expand

I thought this film was stupid and parts disgusting, like the Kazak fertility dance. Prepare yourself to be grossed out over the latter. I was. Spend the hour and a half watching just about anything else instead. You'll be doing yourself a favor.

The spark of inspiration that first brought us Borat is long dead. This Subsequent Moviefilm is a straining, tired ordeal.

I feel like if you gave this movie a 10 is for political reasons because I don't see how someone can find this movie comparable to the first one.
The original Borat is probably one of the best comedy movies ever made.
This one is way far from that.
There are some funny lines by Borat ocasionaly though.

WHAT right do you have making fun of people's ethnicity, national origin and culture? I hope this movie will be banned, or at least there will be an apology for the harmful effect this movie has on people from Kazakhstan, and the fact that this movie insults an entire country. So creators of this movie think that people from other countries should be proud from where they are from, but somehow it is acceptable to put this fake, insulting, distorted image of Kazakhstan and laugh at an entire country and its people and present them in this movie in this way.
