¿La película de terror del 2022? Ni de lejos. Entretenida, algo diferente a lo usual, y poco más, se olvida rápido.

You got a woman pulling up to an air B&B that she rented over the internet and another guy is staying there. So immediate questions start going through your mind is he a lunatic or was the house double booked. I was generously curious how this was going to play out. It actually did a good job building up tension and had some good suspense.

Then the second half kicks in and the movie takes a 90 degree turn and goes off a cliff into being completely stupid. now we are into some crazy lady living under the house that for some reason is as strong as a Kodiak bear and can rip people apart. my brain started to melt on how stupid this was all getting. I don't think I even made it to the end and just turned it off because it was giving me a headache.

Totally over-blown, badly filmed, shoddy storyline. Too much hype. not worth your time.

Well, that happens again and again in this truly dumb movie. Georgina Campbell plays a woman in Detroit for a job interview, when she finds out that her AirB&B property is double booked (not the first movie with that scenario). That only begins a series of idiot moves on her part and the other 2 leads (Bill Skarsgård & Justin Long). Every encounter, whether with other normal humans or the titular characters, doesn't make sense. To make matters worse, there's never one moment of tension. This film is truly a head-scratcher: How did anyone greenlight such and obviously stupid enterprise? Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is poor. I love horror movies, but Barbarian uses the tireddd cliche where the monster is a naked old woman. I was with this movie 100% until that unveiling. The run down neighborhood in Detroit and the mystery of the house were so interesting, the characters had a good thing going, great momentum and tension were built, I love being scared. I’m not scared of a naked lady. I don’t know WHY directors and writers think they’re scary; they’re not. Naked elderly people as monsters are just awkward and embarrassing for the entire production. Maybe producers think their naked bodies are shocking or something? Maybe they think it pushes the envelope? Just give me a break, PLEASE. Avoid this cumbersome movie. Expand

If one grew up appreciating the authors of the past millennium, those who with the code of horror cinema spoke to us loud and clear about important things (existential, anthropic and social phenomenological analysis), he cannot and does not want to degrade himself by accepting films that instead stop at lowest level of social justice warriors, at the political correctness for civil rights, at the most boorish and irrelevant jumpscares race or, as in this case, at a very pale denunciation of the Reagan era (Reagan?!).

The standard feminist cliché of storytelling where the straight white male was the real monster all along. While the police are portrayed as incompetent.

Setting aside the massive plot holes, everything is taken out of the generic horror monster movie handbook. Generic tension building, forgettable characters, tons of useless padding that serves no purpose other than to build atmosphere that is never used.

A complete waste of time for everyone involved in reality.

It had such a good chance of being a proper horror from the build up in the beginning between characters, but swiftly flooded away into horror tropes that have no place in anything attempting to break ground into new frontiers. All this movie did was take the safe route of dark roomed “who’s theres?” Coupled with the safety of day. Back and forth back and forth. The good news is you get to see the famed horror movie nipple, but the bad news is it’s attached to a C-grade hills have eyes character who is shoving it in Justin longs mouth. As if to add cinematic irony to the seasoned horror movie snob, it wraps up with Justin long getting his eyes crushed in and head split in half which is what I felt like I went through giving this movie every chance to turn around until I, too, died of head splitting boredom and unsatisfactory time wasting. The best part about this movie was when the credits start rolling and you can check your ID and remember you had nothing to do with the creating of this film. Expand

An unoriginal not scary “horror” movie that cares more about promoting the same tired woke Hollywood narrative than actually making a good horror flick.

Such a disappointing film. Boring, no coherence in the plot, poorly acted and overall not a very interesting story.

One of the worst bait-'n-switches in the history of film. Bill Skarsgard was the only redeemable part of this movie. Everything else was awful.
