This movie is beautiful. There are some parts that just made me say wow. В этот раз не получилось в кино сходить, но даже посмотрев его у себя на 4к мониторе, я был поражает уровнем графики, опять как 2009г, как и обещал Кэмерон, проработал водную сторону вопроса, выглядит все очень красиво, правдоподобно (правда то что человек на дне или нави, могут 5 минут еще жить без воздуха это конечно меня поразило).
Про сюжет ( не понял момента то что откуда у людей еще одна база на планете? Ее не тронули тогда? Похожа прям на ту ) А так вроде правильный сиквел, больше того что надо: Нави, воды, тема семьи).
3 часа, прошли не заметно, а вроде особо ничего то и не произошло, если так подумать, в конце битва, которая пошла не по плану злодеев. (зачем им сдался ГГ? И почему он ушел? Дали бы отпор опять! И теперь оказывается их привлекают не только материалы дорогие, а еще и сок китов.) Столько вопросов, ждем 3 аватар, благо на этот раз ждать не 13 лет, а 2г.… Expand

This is my favorite movie of all time. So yes, I'm probably pretty biased here. Let's start with the visuals: They are perfect. Just perfect. See it in Imax. I'm not a fan of 3D, but see it in 3D. If you ask me, this is like going on the Soarin' ride at Disney for 3 hours and 12 minutes, and add a great story on top of that. Simply a wonderful movie.… Expand

I went to the theaters in search of a spectacle and I sure did get one. Pandora is a magical place where the audience can become emerged in a world full of new and exciting experiences. The cinematography is best-of-the-best and this film includes a story that engages the audience and makes us care for the Na’vi. Best part of the movie: the underwater scenes and the premise. The Avatar films provide a different viewpoint from many other sci-fi and action movies which I appreciate.

Room for improvement: long movie, but also worth it. There were times in the movie where it seemed more about the spectacle than the evolution of the plot. However, I enjoyed the extra time exploring Pandora.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Contradictory, sagging in the scenario plan of the film. The main question is: WHY DID EVERYONE FORGET ABOUT THE TREE OF SOULS?! After all, the whole point of the first film is that if it is demolished, the tribes will die.
Why don't they use what is shown in the first minutes after landing, burning the ground?
Whale hunting is introduced retroactively, although in the first part people came only for minerals. The son of the villain from the first part is presented, although he was not in the first part. Why does the main villain, who had his memory loaded BEFORE the birth of his son, begin to treat him in such a way that he releases the prisoner? A lot of deus ex machina.
After all, why do they even need to hunt for the main character if he withdrew himself by flying to the islands?
But yes, a beautiful picture. For the sake of which the film stretches for 3 hours, although the scenario load there is no more than 1.5-2 hours.… Expand

Особенно когда он перестал быть вождём). Аватар 2: Путь воды. Скорее уж - Аватар 2.1: Начало пути воды.

Отсутствие последствий принятых решений. Клан воды неохотно принял новых жителей, это на что-то повлияло? Да, произошли пару стычек у подростков разных кланов, и 1 словесная перепалка у лидеров. Это к чему то привело? Нет, клан воды всё равно пошёл на войну с главным героем, и разрешил после всего им остаться навсегда, став частью клана.

Клише подводка к финалу и концовка. Моментами ужасная графика уровня ААА игр 2012-2014 годов. Остальное всё плюсы, общая картинка, цветокор, операторская работа, монтаж и так далее - это всё круто.… Expand

Metacritic really has to do something about all those fake 10 reviews. NOBODY is fan of Avatar, nobody thought it was a great movie, the CGI is the only quality of the movie but the rest is the worse writing and plot I've seen in years.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Amazing to see James Cameron’s new innovation at work. New immersive experience takes you on a journey to a new place unlike any other film, yet there are scenes that feels familiar from the suspenseful moments in the Titanic.

This was an epic cinematic experience that I haven’t felt in over a very long time. Watch it on a 3D High Frame Rate screen if you can. The experience was worth the premium.

A wonderful continuation of the previous movie. The CGI work was gorgeous and allowed for a beautiful exploration of an alien world. The story overall feels a bit too similar which feels disappointing given the amount of time they took to release this film. Some of the choices with the main story and character actions are confusing or goofy. This took me out of the experience as many times throughout the film others would laugh at what should be serious scenes. That being said I looked past most of the few criticisms I have because many of them can be explained or improved with further development of the story. Overall I loved the film and the gorgeous world that James Cameron explores with this film and I am looking forward to the continuation of the series!… Expand

James Cameron is an old man that probably should have made this movie 12 years ago when he had more spark left and the spectacle of Avatar was more fresh. Often directors this past their prime can't really make anything worthwhile. So it's a minor miracle it's still as well done as it is.

It drags on, especially in the middle. It felt, to me, at times it almost wanted to be a streaming television miniseries so they could dwell on the new introduced tribes and environments. But, it had to be a 3D movie so we get a bit of a Frankenstein. It's still so spectacular in the presentation of its fantasy world that the slog is not too distracting. The story is still simple and "iconic" with very obvious themes of good vs evil. But that also still mostly works as the first. The action scenes are pumping and brutal in the final stage of the movie and where it shines as a film experience. The emotional heart tugging moments simple though they are still hit home, at least to me. All in all still worthwhile unless you absolutely HATE 3 hour environmental fests that are clearly overly in love with alien cat indians.… Expand

The biggest problem this film faced was the significant time jump between release dates, however, Cameron managed to maneuver around this, creating a captivating story that left plenty of room for further developments. Unlike the first film, this one focused heavily on emotions and familial relationships. It created the bond that so many of us long for when it comes to friends and family, and it made the events of the film a little more harrowing as they established very quickly that nobody is safe. Much like the first film, this one continued the storyline of environmentalism and colonization, effectively putting the audience in a place that has them rooting on the side of the Na’vi – and against their own people.

In order to tell this story in the manner that was intended, Cameron waited until he had the technology available to create an immersive world for his audience. Especially with the use of IMAX and 3D effects, the viewer can feel transported to Pandora for the full length of the film, and will grow to miss this universe when the credits roll and the screen fades to black. The CGI for this film was masterful in every way and it can be difficult to find a cast that possesses the talent to perform with the technology that will assist in building this world. That being said, casting director, Margery Simkin, could not have done a better job. While the entire cast provided wonderful performances, Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) stood out with her emotional performance as not only a warrior, but a mother and wife as well. It was refreshing to see that, although she has different priorities now, she still held on to her values and beliefs in the same manner as the first film.

The only thing that I felt this film lacked was a memorable soundtrack, as it seemed to blend in to the background of the film and was not as noticeable to me. However, this is not always a bad thing. It was still an important aspect in creating the desired atmosphere, and it did not overshadow the incredible action sequences that appeared throughout the entire film.

With perfect pacing on a three-hour story that left me wanting more, it comes as no surprise that this film is quickly approaching the coveted $2 billion box office mark that very few films have seen – one of those being its predecessor, and another being Titanic (1997), all with the same director. Whether you are a fan of the franchise, director, actors, or just mildly interested in the story, I recommend seeing this film in theaters as it is a heartwarming and thought-provoking experience that is sure to make you excited for the third film.… Expand

We never again get a sensible and spiritual approach as the night life scenes in the old movie. Although this time we saw more realistic and very immersive graphics in natural environments, they didnt surve the plot as well as last time. Dialogs are awful with the most used word of these evolved creatures being "bro". What to tell the studio and its director then is not the way to go.… Expand

Earth baddies come back to Pandora to get Sully for treason, but also to terraform and colonize Pandora, so he tells his wife and kids "Let's run away because these angry earth dudes are after me personally, so our presence here is endangering the other tribesmen", and they do, leaving everyone behind to be slaughtered by an advancing army of aggressive aliens. Some Toruk-Makto, eh?

But instead of settling somewhere far away where they can't be found they join another tribe, apparently with the scope of endangering them instead, because that is exactly what ultimately happens. it's so absurd,the characters take lots of absurd desisions and they're completly ignore the human menace for half of the movie

and at the end they are like "oh no,running away of our problems is not the solution"

yeah if you attach a lot of importance to coherence and the scenario, avoid this, you will get bored and then get angry… Expand

The second installment failed to surprise me, not even visually - and i was adamant beforehand that this vastly successful flick would succeed in doing just that, impartial of the consistency of its storyline and characters.

On the contrary, the sum of its parts achieved the opposite. The plot does not appear to make any sense and delivers very little of substance. On top of that, there is no real concluding consequences either, despite it trying so hard to summon emotional attachment to the characters. I am amazed by the lack of creativity, also - one of the strengths of the first movie. It was all same, same, but with fins and in a different shade of blue. Visuals and sound, while indisputably top-notch, could not convince me to overlook the lack of a meaningful plot, three-dimensional & relatable characters and the creative cultural & environmental exploration of 'The Way of Water'. In the end, i am left with huge disappointment. At least, i was not expecting that. I am giving it a 4 out of 10, because of its gorgeous, but expected visuals.… Expand

A real slap. Once again Cameron is moving the CGI forward considerably. The technique is remarkable: the facial expressions, the rendering of the liquids, the environment, etc... I was able to see the film in Dolby Atmos, and that adds more immersion. The scenario when it - without spoiler-, is however not revolutionary, but it works. He is fairly fair in the father-son emotion in particular. I had concerns about Disney, but the film seems to have been consciously directed by Cameron. Pretty meh movie. About an hour and a half to long with lots of plot holes, characters making stupid or bad choices, and cringy writing. Action was well choreographed and visuals are stunning.

The world (Pandora) is presented in great detail. You learn more about the planet and the creatures that live there. Fans of the first film who have waited 13 years will not be disappointed.

You should definitely watch the film, because it is not every day that there are such great films that take you on a journey into their world.… Expand

Unlike the First part this movie has nearly the same Story i give a short Overview. The same vilain from the first part comes Back to pandora for vangeance against Jake sully but this time in the shape of an Avatar. Meanwhile Jake sully get a Family with four children and for sure he has to protect them from Quaritch (Name of the vilain) and has to leave their Tribe. Eventually they became residents of the water tribes. And at this Point we have the same Story The huma Military starts a war against everything wich is associatet with the water World of pandora. The Special effects however are the best i have Seen. But this is not the most important thing for me the Story must fits in. All in all the second Part of this Journey was Not as good as the First one and i was disappointed.… Expand

I think the first movie was better IMO but this still told an amazing story continuing from the first Avatar movie where in the year 2154, Jake sully is trying to finding a purpose in a sickened world after being paralyzed waist down from being in the Marines. He eventually finds something to fight for on a moon called pandora after being sent there to take his brothers place. Avatar 2’s story takes place 14 years from the first movie, and it shows Jakes continuation to fight for the beautiful extraterrestrial moon, doing anything to protect his family and his new home-world from the RDA once more, and doing it with even better visuals than ever before… Expand

Io ho adorato il primo film di Avatar che ancora oggi è un grande capolavoro.
In "La via dell'acqua" la struttura del film si è banalizata molto la trama per quanto avesse del potenziale e stata raccontata in modo superficiale come iIo ho adorato il primo film di Avatar che ancora oggi è un grande capolavoro.

Cameron si era talmente gasato di usare la cg che si è un scordato di mettere un po più di contenuti ogni 25 campi larghi con musicone su Pandora.

So Jake, now has a family, and they are basically more American then tribal, no respect, swear and everything...well don't Jake.And guess what..the humans are back, and the guys who you thought where dead in the last one..nah..they brought them all back. So Jake's family get challenged by a marine we thought was dead but is now a blue guy and his buddy's and they decide to go and hide with another tribe for some reason, so the war finds them (well done again Jake.. you really screwed everyone) and then cliche plot hole, cliche plot hole cliche plot hole happens, Jake blows up a ship then end. And this boring badly written nonsense lasts 3 hours. Only reason I can recommend is if you suffer from insomnia, you will fall asleep half way through.… Expand
