  1. The create a soldier mode that is dependent upon your skill with activities is a fresh spin to the player generated fighter, and the inclusion of RPG-esque elements take the rather tired elements from "Dynasty Warriors" and injects new blood into the genre.
  2. The Xbox version does allow more enemies on-screen at one time, which does increase the difficulty level a bit. But, truth be told, only a few enemies are added and most gamers probably won't notice the difference.
  3. Do not expect this to be a quick in-and-out type of game. The timer for the starting missions is 60 minutes, and you will use most of the that to work through the map and accomplish what you are tasked to do.
  4. If you have a love for the Koei/Omega Force titles, you would be a fool not to check out Samurai Warriors, which trumps "Dynasty Warriors" in just about every area.
  5. One thing's for sure though: Samurai Warriors has massive potential for refinement and improvement.
  6. It's no better or worse than the "Dynasty Warrior" series, but we Koei fans have never demanded any significant changes from these games, have we? [Sept 2004, p.115]

Though the inclusion of sometimes mind-numbing "climb the tower" segments in Story Mode, as well as occasional enemy AI that ranges from stupid to cheap, keep it from mass-scale beat-'em-up greatness, Samurai Warriors satisfies an appetite for destruction in a way that few other games can.
