Realmente tenia mis expectativas con el primer explusivo temporal de XBOX series X, pero resultó tener unas animaciones y modelados al nivel de Heavy Rain (en el 2000 era la bomba pero ya no). Lo único que da miedo son esos bajones de resolución a 900p... Dónde está el 4k y la potencia infinita de la consola? Muy, muy decepcionado. No veo nueva generación porUna aventura decepcionante.     I kept going back and forth throughout The Medium's 8 hour campaign as to whether I liked the first true Series X exclusive for the console. The gameplay elements are very hit or miss for me, mostly miss. The static camera, ala the old Resident Evil games, come with their own drawbacks like weird character movement and unable to know what the correct path can be sometimes. And the generalI kept going back and forth throughout The Medium's 8 hour campaign as to whether I liked the first true Series X exclusive for the console. The gameplay elements are very hit or miss for me, mostly miss. The static camera, ala the old Resident Evil games, come with their own drawbacks like weird character movement and unable to know what the correct path can be sometimes. And the general sluggish nature of moving around the main character, Marianne, throughout the story was almost a hassle for the most part. Also the constant pop in of textures, during cutscenes and exploration, were beyond awful. Which didnt help with some of the bland textures when they were loading right. However the story was compelling, if containing a few plot holes here and there, to keep me going. That was until I got to the ending. As the game got to about the 3/4ths mark, the plot holes kept getting bigger and bigger until they were crater sized. With an ending that was so bad that it completely ruined the experience for me. They did set up for a sequel but the characters decisions at the end were a total cop out for they had been building up to the entire time. No specific spoilers but I honestly feel like I wasted my time with this game. Thankfully this is a gamepass game so it doesnt feel like a total loss for me. However if I had spent 60 dollars on this game to experience that ending, I'd be very angry with the way they went about it here. Not a great way for the first Series X exclusive game to end.… Expand

    Great sound design. Rest is bull-crap. Doesn't look good on a 4k TV. Ray tracing isn't showcased properly. Won't recommend. Play Outlast if you want to play horror games.

    A very good game with a short story ranging at 10 hours, it tries to do something different and innovates in a genre that has been stale for quite a bit. The action parts and environments are well done and definitely a highlight of what the next gen can do!

    It’s a complete mess, the Story is mediocre, and the dual screen gimmick only makes the game run poorly at 30 FPS and a lower resolution, it was 1 of the worst horror games I’ve ever played

    A disappointment. It’s patronising that you are forced to only walk. The animations are unfinished which is sad because the environmental art is lovely. The gimmick doesn’t salvage what is bad directorship.

    This game is very boring. You repeat completing the same kinds of tasks over and over again. Unfortunately the game also runs at a max frame rate of 30fps on the xbox series x.

    Tiene unas bajadas de fps muy grandes, con tirones y enganchones muy molestos. La historia no está mal, pero es que no puedes hacer nada en el juego, solo andar y andar.

    Just chock how bad this game is. Gameplay not existing. Puzzle boring. Graphic ok. Story didn’t like it. Npc boring. 8hrs of boring game. If its the future of gamepass boring game like this yeah pss on this and don’t buy this waste of money get a Month gamepass if you want to try and cancel that game is not worth full price.

    Anyone with moderate experiance with games will see in moments that The Medium is a below par effert. Unfortunatly journalists arent required to have any experiance with games to do official public reviews.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Habe es nach dem PC auf der Series X ausprobiert , es sieht schon recht schwach aus und hat Framedrops unter 30 die man merkt .
    Die Steuerung ist auch sehr rückständig , schlimmer als bei Resident Evil in den 90er.
    Der Sound ist sehr gut gemacht , aber hilft der lahmen Story auch nicht war nach 8std 30 Minuten fertig sowas langweiliges habe ich lang nicht mehr gespielt.
    Echt Schlecht dieses Spiel.

    Chato demais. Só andar pra lá e pra cá. Diferente, por exemplo, de RE, que podemos usar uma arma. Não posso falar de otimização porque joguei no PC, mas, parece que esta com problemas no Xbox.
    Como jogo inicial dos novos SS e SX uma decepção.

    This game is extremely atmospheric, the story is simple and lacks a bit of subtlety but it's a very engaging one... Going around the beautiful scenery made it all worth it. Not extremely scary but maintains a very creepy atmosphere throughout. The game kinda feels like it was made to be an exploration game set in a creepy atmosphere more than a straight up horror game but I have foundThis game is extremely atmospheric, the story is simple and lacks a bit of subtlety but it's a very engaging one...     I went into this with the premise of a horrifying adventure and was greeted with a messy, cinematic adventure that tries too hard to be intricate and ends up swimming in an ocean of commonalities with plenty of other media from the same genre.

    From the beginning the game starts strongly and makes Marianne's world interesting, however once you get into Nowa resort the story fails to hold    I went into this with the premise of a horrifying adventure and was greeted with a messy, cinematic adventure that tries too hard to be intricate and ends up swimming in an ocean of commonalities with plenty of other media from the same genre.

    From the beginning the game starts strongly and makes Marianne's world interesting, however once you get into Nowa resort the story fails to hold itself together and becomes too tangled with its smaller details while being ignorant towards the larger ones.

    Marianne's main motive which is to investigate a mysterious caller who has promised to speak to her about her ability to converse with the dead, as well as a reoccurring dream she keeps experiencing is sidelined heavily and in comes a focus on smaller characters and smaller story notes which ultimately add no substance to the plot, such as Ursula, a grief stricken nurse who as a result of her own sadness is possessed and kills the people of the resort. While the description of this character and her acts of horror sound interesting, you never once come in contact with Ursula or experience the horrors of this character as not only is she long gone before Marianne's arrival, her story is mostly shown in collectibles and adds little weight to the plot as never once is she mentioned.

    Then there's Richard, a traumatic painter who has a "Jekyll and Hyde" personality that is controlled by a gargantuous multiple armed monster known as the "Child Eater", who is also collectible material until one scene where he's linked to the plot and if you didn't find enough collectibles to know this same person is Richard, the story looks structurally messy. This is due to how lazily executed their decision making is and ultimately makes collectible hunting a double edged sword where the result is largely inconsequential in Ursula's case, as well as a few other faces you won't meet along the way. However an obligation in Richard's case otherwise you're out of the loop on a large plot detail and left lost.

    With these side plots out the way you may think you find the mysterious voice who was the focal point of the plot, however through the 8 hour + run you never do, it's more useless plot extensions up until the last half hour where the game decides to drop a huge bomb shell that wasn't hinted at once within the story or built up so it seems incredibly forced and out of place.

    As a result the game ends with a flat story and an even messier ending where it's open ended for the sake of trying to push a sequel yet largely lacks suspense.

    Throughout the 8 hour run there's only 5 encounters with an "enemy" and they're delegated to easy stealth situations which can be finished in 10 minutes. The rest of the game has you treading an empty world doing easy puzzles that won't require you to look up a guide once as you're strung along by a story that seemingly makes details up as you go.

    The camera is horrible and can be the reason you miss collectibles and/or doorways meaning you'll be stuck in loop until you find the right area by mistake, the characters outside of Marianne are underdeveloped, lack personality and exist to make the world seem bigger, despite coming off as empty because of this and the musical score is something I don't remember even as I type this, it's so samey and fails to stand out.

    Enemy design is wasted on cutscenes and never once pose a threat or succeed in delivering fear, instead you'll go in a room expecting to be scared yet never encounter anything that makes you scared.

    The voice acting is praiseworthy however and the usage of multiple realities made the game tolerable, but didn't save it from being a common possession story with a lame story. I expected better but I got it off gamepass so I don't feel cheated, just let down.    … Expand

    Sometimes you can run, sometimes not. Sometimes you can use a power, some times you cannot. It all depends on the plot.
    Paths are very difficult to see. Sometimes you are close to a corridor and the camera shifts so you can see there is a hallway. But it's sooo inconistent. The Dual Screen gimmick is a mess. It only makes the game run poorly. A full    Poor and inconsistent game design.

    But the most annoying things are the checkpoints. I was far away some times and the inconsistent gameplay just failed me. I died and, after a looong loading, I was at the beggining of the **** hotel.
    Give up Bloober Team, you are not good with this kind of game.    … Expand

    This is by far one of the best games of the last decade. The graphics are fantastic, the atmosphere is deep and it’s truly a gem between other horror games. It felt like I played one of the first Resident Evil or Silent Hill. The length is typical for a horror game and fitted perfectly with the great story. Thank you Bloober Team for this masterpiece.

    Also the OST is full of banger, but    This is by far one of the best games of the last decade. The graphics are fantastic, the atmosphere is deep and it’s truly a gem between other horror games.     Recordemos que no es un AAA y aún así consigue capturar tu atención con una gran historia y música. A veces me daba la sensación de estar jugando algo entre Syberia y Silint Hill. No es un juego para todos los gustos. Si eres fanático por ejemplo de los Call of Duty mejor ni lo intentes pero si no eres de esos, es muy probable que si te guste The Medium. Es un buen juego.

    Sobre el juego, pues el tiempo lo pondrá en su lugar y dentro de algunos años se hablará de él como "Joya oculta". The Medium hace una apuesta muy arriesgada trayéndonos una historia de terror con unas mecánicas muy originales. Te mantiene en tensión las 10 horas que dura el juego. Nos aporta algo fresco en un mercado saturado de juegos clónicos y genéricos, solo por esta original apuesta ya se merece todo el reconocimiento. Para colmo el producto ha salido redondo. Si buscas reventar zombies con un lanzacohetes, The Medium no es tu juego. Pero si perteneces a un grupo de videojugador maduro que disfruta de historias paranormales trabajadas, sin duda debes jugar a The Medium    … Expand

    I do not understand how this game is getting such high scores from reviewers. It's nonsensical. This game is so mediocre. The frames were terrible, the story was lackluster and cliche, and don't get me started on the fixed camera. Its dated and gimmicky overused and boring. I was expecting a next gem unique experience. But I got none. I'd give a lower rating but I feel this is fair enough

    It is an X exclusive, because MS wanted an X exclusive. Visually it looks pretty ordinary even on a PC. There is no reason whatsoever not to release it on One. It looks especially weird, given non-existing X supply - to release an exclusive for a console which you cannot buy.

    Ambiance correct, 8h is like DLC, gameplay too old, and technicaly it's just a shame... 4k dynamique at 1440p range, sometimes 900p@30fps big drops of framerate.

    In this game you walk around and experience the atmosphere and the punctuating cutscenes. The horror isn't jump scares, but more cerebral and atmospheric. It's disturbing, with much of it's drama having nothing to do with the monster itself. You have to be aware of this.

    This is a game of a slow build up. It's not gonna climax in the prologue to get the attention of people that need to be sold on a game in 15 minutes. It felt like the first half was all build up, and the second half was all pay-off, and damn I liked it.

    The story and setting are exceptionally well thought out, drama, horror, quasi-sci-fi and history, even. Just play the thing if you have the opportunity. Game Pass or something.

    I love walking sims, so I'm giving it a 10/10. I'm not telling you what I think it'll be for you.    … Expand

    Mais à dire vrai, la seule différence entre cette nouvelle daube    « The Medium » est la nouvelle daube des faiseurs de daubes habituelles dans le genre horrifique à deux balles, à savoir les baltringues de chez la « Bloober Team » qui ont déjà commis les Layers of Fear, Blair Witch et Observer ! avec un tel palmerdès, inutile de dire qu’on s’attendait au pire et… qu’on a pas été déçu !

    Mais à dire vrai, la seule différence entre cette nouvelle daube et les précédentes, c’est qu’elle est -enfin- jolie à regarder malgré une résolution « dynamique » qui tutoie les tréfonds de la génération d’avant et ce, sur la console la plus puissante du moment, la Series X ! et de surcroît, on reste limité à du 30 im/s… et puis c’est tout.

    Du 30 im/s dans un jeu à caméras fixes neuf fois sur dix et ce, dans le sous-genre Resident Debil ou Silent Debill, il fallait le faire ! d’ailleurs, c’est tellement programmé n’importe comment que même sur un PC de fou avec une 3080 au cul, impossible d’avoir un 60 im/s constant… Sur Series X, on notera aussi des temps de chargement assez choquants pour un jeu de cet acabit, plus scripté qu’elle vieille telenovela : 18 secondes au bas mot, non mais sans déconner…!

    Sinon, pour le reste, c’est une sorte de « silenthillerie » complètement foutraque à laquelle on n’entrave que dalle dont la jouabilité rigide est constamment et carrément à l’ouest, ce qui nous rappelle les heures les plus sombres des sous-merdes bien connues telles que les Resident Debileries ou les infâmes Silent Debilleries de jadis !

    Sans queue ni tête et très pénible, The Medium fait n’importe quoi sous le fallacieux prétexte horrifique, un prétexte qui sombre régulièrement dans le mauvais goût et qui nous gave à très grande vitesse ; alors, direction la poubelle avec tous les étrons de son genre !    … Expand

    Juego de notable alto, para mi gusto, gran sonido que te envuelve, una jugabilidad clasica, y una muy buena historia, buenos graficos, quizas se ha hechado en falta el doblaje al castellano, pero en general la verdad es que me ha sorprendido, no me esperaba un juego tan bueno.

    I like the game for what it is. I wish there was combat in this game but the graphics and the story is why it's worth playing it but the short comings is lack of combat and frame pacing that can be a nuisance at times but I hope they can build off this new ip and expand it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Buen juego, entretenido, como buena ambientacion, banda sonora de lujo, aunque si se nota alguno que otro punto flojo, la jugabilidad con el personaje es un poco acartonada, tube algunos fallos de texturas minimas en el escenario del Bosque.
    Su historia es solida y bien desarrollada, nquien tiene la idea que jugara un silent hill esta en un error, tiene una atmosfera muy paresida, pero no es un survival horror.
    Definitivamente otro titulo de terror para pasar un buen rato    … Expand

    Nunca jugué el juego, y ni me interesa, ya que parece somnífero. Pero lo que sí está 10/10 es el grupo de Venta y Reparación de consolas.

    Grande besto grupo de Facebook, somos la vaina más arrecha de todo Internet, y todos los foros nos la pelan.

    horrible game, outdated graphics outdated gameplay outdated camera, it is basically a walking simulator, no fear, no fright, no fighting and puzzles are tedious, poorly optimized game pathetic ray tracing, full of graphic errors flashing on the screen the game completely expendable , if it came out for Xbox 360 it would still be a terrible game.

    I played this game for 5 hours and I paused the game just to review this...the game is great in every aspect... it reminds me so much of old school SH. The story is great the horror elements are also nice. The achievements titles are so funny I would give this game 8/10 but seeing people judge this game badly made me go for the 10...Love it

    Sin combates, sin miedo, solo caminar por pasillos, resolver un puzzle y seguir por otro pasillo, lo bueno que el juego es corto, dos horas más de esto y lo hubiera dejado abandonado, lo vendieron como un silenth hill pero la verdad es que los tres screamers que salen en el juego por asomarte por la cerradura dan lástima, yo no pagaría por esto, que bueno que se juega gratis en gamepass.

    D'ailleurs cette idée des deux mondes est vraiment bien pensé, j'aime cette idée même si je trouve dommage que l'on ai pas le choix d'aller quand on veux d'un monde à l'autre. Mais c'est pas vraiment gênant. Cette idée d'écran splitté est aussi bien trouvé, pouvoir avoir deux expériences différentes en même temps c'est pas commun.
    Concernant le gameplay il y a pas grand chose à dire, ça reste du classique, rien d'innovant à part l'expérience écran splitté qui rend l'appréhension de se déplacer différente.
    Pour les graphismes personnellement j'en attendais pas grand chose, ça reste un studio de petite envergure et donc le budget et la main d'oeuvre reste restreinte. Donc c'est pas une claque graphiquement mais si les graphismes faisait un bon jeu ça se serrait. Petit bémol quand même pour le rendu des émotion sur le visage. Ca reste plutôt rigide. Par contre niveau rendu des décors, objets, intérieur bâtiment etc... c'est vraiment beau et certaines séquences et passages sont vraiment magnifique. J'ai par moment quelques minutes à explorer des zones juste par ce que c'est vraiment beau.
    La musique très bonne (Yamaoka) et son d'ambiance sont bons mais on reste dans le classique du genre.
    Pour conclure si vous voulez de l'action à la RE passez votre chemin, de même si vous voulez du gros suspense avec des moments un peu speed. Par contre si vous aimez les jeux style "spirituel", où l'on peut prendre le temps, où l'ambiance (DA, musique etc...) vous met en condition, où vous aimez les histoires avec un sujet fort, avec un univers sombre et épouvante, foncez vous serez pas déçu surtout si vous avez le gamepass. Avoir un jeu comme ça dans un service comme celui-ci est vraiment intéressant.
    Cette note par rapport aussi du fait que c'est un jeu de niche, fait par un studio limité en moyen et que c'est un AA.
    Un bon jeu dans un univers particulier et si vous avez aimé les précédent titre de Bloober team, vous allez forcément aimer The medium.    … Expand

    Realmente es un buen juego, el hate que tiene lo considero injusto, la nota por la prensa no está mal como muchos dicen, yo le doy un 8 porque tiene una historia bastante buena e interesante, el ambiente del juego es bastante sobresaliente, y aunque su apartado técnico no sea el mejor en cuanto a expresiones y físicas, el juego tiene buenos gráficos en cuanto a ambiente, la doble cámara leRealmente es un buen juego, el hate que tiene lo considero injusto, la nota por la prensa no está mal como muchos dicen, yo le doy un 8 porque tiene una historia bastante buena e interesante, el ambiente del juego es bastante sobresaliente, y aunque su apartado técnico no sea el mejor en cuanto a expresiones y físicas, el juego tiene buenos gráficos en cuanto a ambiente, la doble cámara le da una forma distinta de avanzar en el juego, aunque me hubiera gustado que se pudiera jugar más tiempo con la cámara, ya que era la mecánica más llamativa del juego, pero tampoco es un punto de crítica tan alto porque ellos salieron a decir la duración del juego y la duración de las pantallas duales, de un 33% del recorrido, el juego no es un juego de terror como tal, tampoco es un Survival Horror a lo Resident Evil o Silent Hill, pero eso no es malo, es un buen juego de su género, los puzzles no son tan complejos, son bastantitos pobres, pero tomando en cuenta que no es la mecánica principal tampoco es algo fuerte de criticar, la banda sonora es muy muy buena, como era de esperarse, te da toques de tensión en momentos críticos, realmente es muy buena, podría extenderme más pero no quiero entrar en spoilers y ese tipo de cosas, pero es un buen juego, no es un juego sobresaliente realmente, pero es bueno, son esos juegos que se pueden jugar en una noche cuando quieres una aventura corta e intrigante, sin duda es un juego que no te puedes perder si tienes Game Pass… Expand

Pero la mayoría de los piperos le dan 0 porque en su vida van a tener para 2 consolas, además de que Sony los tiene tan acostumbrados a juegos de 80 dólares con una calidad mediocre.     Gráfico bonito e atmosfera interessante. tem alguns bugs aqui e ali, nada que um reload não ajude. Não é bem meu estilo de jogo, prefiro ser mais proativo contra os monstros, mas a estória é legal. O design da protagonista é magnífico.

    Para ser un juego hecho por un estudio pequeño, técnicamente está muy bien. En cuanto al juego, la historia te atrapa desde el inicio a fin, no quieres despegarte de la pantalla, quieres todo el tiempo saber qué está pasando. Me ha sorprendido de manera positiva. Jugado en PC.

    The story is really intense and well developed. As much as it's not a survival horror, I still felt very tense because of the atmosphere and the amazing soundtrack. One of the best surprises of the year so far.

    Grandisimo juego, te mantiene en tensión toda la partida y tiene una historia genial y muy bien hilada. Las mecanicas para los puzles con el doble mundo son muy originales, quizá se les podría haber sacado muchisimo más jugo del que tienen pero esperemos que si hay una segunda parte lo hagan.

    Despite clunky animations, repetitive gameplay and some technical issues with the Xbox Series X version, I completed The Medium twice. Its dual-reality design, art direction and brilliant soundtrack often made me stop to take in a view or relish the music. Its mature story and atmosphere reminiscent of Silent Hill helped a lot too.     The exclusive Microsoft - The Medium is yet another significant milestone in the catalogue of psychological horror games from Bloober Team, which is increasingly becoming one of the best studios in this area. Without hiding where it comes from, it's an experience horror fans won't want to miss, no matter how short. The duality approach is interesting and has enormous potential. I hope that the Bloober Team will get to work on it again and develop it more in-depth.
