Starfield manages to be a perfect game, impeccable graphics and magnificent physics. I don't understand all this hater over this game.
    Best Bethesda game ever made.

This is a fantastic game. I don’t know what some of these people are talking about being a failure… I have not been able to put down my controller playing this game since day one. I’ve only scratched the surface of this game and can’t wait to see more Wonderful things from it.

This game is a lot of fun. It's not perfect but it comes close. I have sank so many hours into it and feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Amazing game, if you give it a chance you can really enjoy it. Story is amazing, with all the faction quests and constellation. Cities are all unique and you get quests literally every second there's so much to do

Go and touch the grass... It’s not the first time you’ve been doing this, it’s embarrassing to look at you. I have no questions for people who really didn’t like the game for one reason or another. Starfield is a typical Bethesda game, with all its pros and cons. And that's not a bad thing. Bethesda knows how to make very interesting side quests that can even overshadow the main plot. At the same time, Bethesda has long been kicked for not the most technologically advanced and very limited engine. But the reasons why they show such negativity towards Starfield are absolutely not clear to me. Many people complain about constant loading, but no one is bothered by the fact that they take place literally in seconds, while the detail work in many of these locations is impressive. People complain that they can’t land and take off from planets on their own, which is why they have to use fast travel, but do you really want to land and take off from hundreds of planets with your own hands every time, despite the fact that in an hour of playing you can fly 20 times from one star system to another? Many people complain about NPC faces in cities, but how often do you look at bobbleheads in open worlds? There's a lot of talk about what you can't do in the game, but no one wants to talk about what you can do in the game. In addition to the usual battles on earth, space battles with boarding ships have been added; the construction of a “settlement” is not at all a mandatory element of the game, but this mechanic is worked out just as well as the others. and I'm not talking about the main story with additional tasks that are no worse than in Fallout or Skyrim. People also prefer to remain silent about the fact that this new universe is really interesting to explore and find out how the game world works. My opinion is not the ultimate truth, but it is my opinion. and I absolutely don’t understand where there is so much furious hate for this game. If you don't want to follow the herd and really form your own opinion, don't listen to anyone. including me. play for yourself and form your own opinion. All I can say is that Starfield is a typical Bethesda game, with all its pros and cons. And that's not a bad thing. Expand

However, we expected this game to be some huge, massive universe like No Man’s Sky and the amazing characters and story of Mass Effect and Cyberpunk, but it isn’t. I expected good spaceflight (is that the correct term?) but there really isn’t even a point to the tedious meas they call spaceflight since you can warp wherever, whenever. They took too many pages out of Elite Dangerous’ boring, tedious playbook. While Starfield isn’t bad at all (ignore people review-bombing it), it certainly isn’t 85-Metacritic-good. With a “creative choice” to lock the game at 30fps (Phil Spencer said that it wasn’t a hardware issue), it just proves that Bethesda lies through their teeth and still don’t know how to properly optimize their games and people need to stop defending them. There is absolutely zero reason the game can’t run at 60fps. Any other company would have made it run with a better frame rate. But Bethesda is known for this stuff and people keep defending it. So that really sucks the life out of the game. The main story is really boring and confusing. The characters are meh. Some are decent but most are completely forgettable. Unlike Fallout or Elder Scrolls, I have no real desire to explore or really do anything in the game. For the most part, it is just boring. Landing on any planet or moon is a barren wasteland full of nothing. At its core, the game is still a Bethesda game and still plays fine, despite them not coming up with a different formula, but it really fails to hit the mark in a lot of ways. Having said all of that, there is still plenty of fun to be had with this game. I just wish it was more entertaining. Expand

Starfield is a decent game. Not "great" by any means, but it's alright. The quests are engaging and interesting for the most part, if perhaps a bit unimaginative and cliche.

The graphics are looking VERY dated on the current game engine. The graphics aren't bad, per se, but they definitely look like they're from 2 console generations ago, not a good look for a game published in 2023.

The graphics are looking VERY dated on the current game engine. The graphics aren't bad, per se, but they definitely look like they're from 2 console generations ago, not a good look for a game published in 2023. Looks like they designed the entire thing around the engines that were available when they began development, and never updated when better technology became available.

I completely agree with other reviewers in the sentiment that the game is vast, but extremely lacking in content outside of the handful of "established" settlements. Now that's probably a realistic take on how things would be, exploring the galaxy in a starship, sure...but it just doesn't make for a "fun" experience for a video game.

The controls, man, now those are gawd awful. They are a clunky feeling, horrible mess. Sure, you can get used to them, eventually...but man they just don't feel good. The game feels just...well....clumsy and clunky. The controls in a game should be pretty much off your radar as a player...being so intuitive that you really don't think about what you're pressing to do things. Starfield is not like that at all, the interface (and navigating around it) feel awkward at the best of times; and frustrating and annoying at the worst of them.

The loading screens, and forced "cinematics" (docking, undocking, landing, etc.) are exceedingly annoying and if there were a way to simply turn them off, I feel most players would. It's annoying and I believe that most players cannot stand them after the first 1-2 times of seeing them.

So all-in-all, Starfield has promise, but currently it falls flat. Perhaps they can pull a No Man's Sky and turn it around with a little effort. We'll see.

Yes there is loading screens and the space flying is more realistic. Cant fly from earth to Jupiter in minutes. Apparently that has people upset. Grav jumping. Yeah that is in and out of loading screens. Bethesda could of done better with that.

I praise the details of the interior of the ships and the carefully modeled objects. Lighting, space, facial expressions of the characters. 2D flat planet textures? Really? Good joke. It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
