Im one of the biggest xbox and Microsoft fan boys but not even I can defend this utter boring and soulless feeling game. The first impressions you get from this game are terrible my god everything just feels in a words I can't even properly describe. I literally wanted to stop playing after a terrible ship combat tutorial and landing on the first new planet. Also it doesn't help the character creator and the models look absolutely terrible and how can I get invested into my character when he looks like a mentally handicapped freak. My personal Ethos with video games has and always will be is that if I can't be pulled into the world and its immersion within a hour it's just not for me. Also don't let us ignore the sneakily added identity politics and pronouns in the character creator stage that just makes my **** eyes roll. Escapism in gaming is dead and has been for awhile sure we will get one or two gems but besides that its all garbage. So to end it off don't buy this garbage steal it from your dumbass friend who probably bought it and hide it from him so he will not have to suffer the same fate. Expand

    Finished the game just to have all my progress removed (credits, ship, relationships with character). Ridiculously bad game design and sad excuse for ng+. You have to f5 quicksave every 2 minutes to avoid gamebreaking bugs. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

    The plot is ludicrous, the actions of everyone feel forced and don’t make sense. Especially compared with Baldur’s Gate 3, Starfield’s storytelling appears ridiculously bland. Dialogues tend to be silly.

    Space exploration is non-existent - the game tells you unmistakably and even forces you to use fast travel. No exploration like in Skyrim. Load screens en masse.

    Besides combat, my highlight are the staring NPCs. My tip is to try this game via cloud gaming so you don‘t have to waste electricity for the huge download.

This game would have been good 10 years ago + the price of the cap is completely inadequate for the quality of the product. Such Daggerfall has more fun with exploration and rpg system than this abomination. Fallout 3 / NV are better in terms of diversifying the gameplay of exploration and character creation. Starfield can be described as everything and nothing, as if making a cake with the addition of salami and brawn, you can, but who will eat it. Expand

    Everything else about this game is a complete disaster:
    - the loading screens, overall terrible user experience (UX) design;
    - the amount of bugs and glitches are astounding (not surprising considering its Bethesda);
    - 'the space travel' is a joke, its just a non-convincing, uninspiring, boring emulation of the potential experience, nothing actually happens in space itself except of repetitive boring ship fights;
    - almost all planets are empty and feel generated by AI, major cities and planets are almost as dull;
    - Lore, NPCs, dialogues, factions and quests are dull and and feel generated by AI;
    - AI of the NPCs is one of the worst I've seen in my life (on par with Cyberpunk 2077 vanilla);
    - weapons and perks are boring and don't provide any interesting and unique mechanics to the game role-playing wise;
    - enemies are repetitive and quickly become tiresome to fight with, the fights are just a shooting gallery.

    Don't even think about buying the game, and I strongly advise you to not even try to play it with the Game Pass, any RPG player and/or space enthusiast (astrophile) would get disgusted by what he would experience.

    AHORA LO IMPORTANTE LO MALO.
    El principal aspecto negativo de este juego no es sólo el juego en si es culpa de las Mentiras del equipo de Microsoft.
    Y medias verdades. "El juego más grande, el juego más ambicioso y el que revolucionará el mundo de los videojuegos con más de mil planetas"
    Para empezar Starfield no revoluciona en nada, estamos delante de un videojuego que no innova en nada. Que tiene muchos aspectos de muchos videojuegos y no destaca en ninguno, cada juego del que come cosas es mejor en ese aspecto, regular en todo y bueno en nada.

    Gráficamente hablaban de portento, y estamos viendo cómo las caras de los NPCs dan pena.
    Donde hay detalles que hemos visto mejores en juegos primerizos de la generación anterior con INFAMOUS second sonda d PS4. O peor que el RYSE de Microsoft. La IA no representa ningún reto (que es un videojuego que no afronte ningún reto?) Nada!

    La IA es estúpidamente penosa no hace falta compararla, es que es desastroza. Nos vendían revolución ACORDAROS.
    hemos visto mil juegos con Ia muy superiores.
    Es que es absurdo que se hable de juegazo si no cumple con estándares.

    Y luego está la gente que los defiende.
    La retracción de estas personas para mí está en este ejemplo mio.

    Hace unos 6 Años salió Assassins creed Unity al mercado.
    El juego que mataron por los Bugs, donde yo que personalmente lo jugué y le heche 100h. Tenía Bugs visuales. Y bajones de frames. Y para nada llegan al nivel de los Bugs de STARFIELD O CYBERPUNK, que son continuos molestos absurdos y a veces te impiden avanzar muchisimo peores a mil niveles, hay juegos que no paran de matar y ahora sale un juego que esperaron y que les han vendido todo el hype del mundo y tienen esto y lo defienden a capa y espada.
    STARFIELD Y GRAN PARTE QUE LA APOYA, son los hipócritas que critican otros juegos y luego no aceptan la realidad. Dicho esto se que quedan muchas cosas malas que tiene el juego, pero ya caerán por su cuenta.
    Yo no recomendaría este juego inacabado a nadie.
    También recuerdo que la prensa es aquella que dicen que no hay que apoyar esos juegos que salen inacabados y con Bugs a punta pala y luego le ponen estás notas, nada tiene sentido el mundo alreves cuando les interesa.

    Espero que si alguien lee esto que abra los ojos y exija un producto de calidad acabado o que almenos no te creen expectativas para venderte el juego, que eso es inmoral y casi que debería ser ilegal. GRACIAS POR LA ATENCION

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I actually created an account so i can leave a review.
    First: i've played the game for about an hour so i've not seen much but the things i have seen was enough for me.
    Graphics: Overall looks nice but the characters look dull. The coloring in this game is very boring.
    i have an rtx 3070 and my pc should be running games like these at least on high without performance issues. It doesn't. My highest FPS were 60 when i'm lucky. Also everything is grey or red. I don't think they put much thought in the visuals of the game. Synchronization: the voices and mouth animations look nice
    Story:
    Uninteresting story. I've lost interest in it almost immediately since it was just talking and talking about stuff i didn't understand. I somehow got a ship but i didn't understand the reasoning.
    Gameplay: Unintuitive. I had to look up most lf the stuff i wanted to do (talking mostly about ship movement and settings)
    Npc interaction:
    Doesn't matter as far as i've played. I selected every answer that could deny me the progress of the story but they didn't care and gave it anyway. Maybe it would make a difference later but i doubt it.
    Difficulty:
    Idk man. I played on normal and i could just walk up to the pirates and they still missed their shots. Felt like stormtroopers. Yes i needed to take a med pack but i wasn't in a rush to do so.
    Open world:
    In no way interesting. Go from A to B, kill a few dudes come back repeat. Quick travel is the most important function here and thus boring as hell.
    Ship movement:
    I've realized to late that the robot was giving a tutorial in what the energy does in each section and there was no way in letting him repeat that so... i just winged it. The destroyed ships had loot which i magically teleported to my inventory... no animation no leaving the ship or anything. Just go near and teleport it in your inventory. Seen better in star citicen. Bugs:
    It's sad to say but "luckily" i only had one. After the first pirate fight the robot which follows you on the ship was making constant irritating banging noises like he is constantly hit with anything. After i've entered the ship it was over.
    Sad to say but bethesda should stick to fantasy rpg (elder scrolls) or post apocalyptic rpg (fallout). Those games were fun.

Most of the characters faces look like they come from a children's plasticine competition and their animations look like they were made by a very cheap AI. The enemy AI is the worst in recent Bethesda games. Enemies movements are completely random. Sometimes they may try to hide somewhere, but sometimes they will look straight at you waiting for you to shoot them, and other times they will just start running in random directions. Optimization on PC is terrible if you don't have the most powerful components. Exploration in this game is tragic and boring. I wanted to love this game, I love space exploration as a concept, I love RPGs and the kind of "firm" Science Fiction tone this game uses (similar to Mass Effect). Problem is this game experience is frustrating to say the least.

    Exploration is tedious because Starfield's universe is largely empty, especially when you deviate "off the beaten path." This was really surprising given Betheda's history and their famous touting of their worlds, I was expecting a game where venturing off the paths of quests would be like FO4 or Skyrim, where I stumble onto some side content that pulls me in and I look back two hours later and say: "Wait, I was doing a quest!" To be very clear: Starfield DOES NOT give you this experience in the least. Many of the worlds in Starfield are largely empty and offer few NPCs or locations to interact with.

    The gameplay feels dated as well, not outright bad, more like they just took FO4, stapled on some 2016 No Man's Sky, and applied a new coat of paint. Ground combat is very stale, largely due to a combination of bad AI, bullet-sponge enemies, and that most guns have really toned down sounds... Then there is space combat. The ship and base-building mechanics are much improved from their FO4 roots, clearly this is where Bethesda spent A LOT of time, and it shows. I can say I was very pleased with what I could do with my ship after awhile and there are many options in regards to constructing your base/home. That being said, combat in space is just very poorly balanced because you have the same "bullet sponge" issues from ground combat, but the added difficulty of lacking cover. This places a lot of onus on the player making sure you are upgrading your ship, particularly on higher difficulties, and causes this heavy emphasis on resource gathering, hence the NMS comparison.

    Then there are the bugs. I expected them given its a Bethesda game, but this... It isn't as bad as FO76, but it also feels like Bethesda just haven't learned anything in the last 15 years. I can't tell you how many times I had companions or enemies stuck on level geometry that would either impede my progress, and more than a few times it required me to re-load and hope I didn't end up with an enemy shooting me from behind a wall or above the ceiling where I couldn't shoot back or end up with a companion preventing me from moving into a room with the quest objective. I had crashes, I had physics and texture bugs, I had objectives fail to properly complete requiring reloads.

    I compared this game to 2016 No Man's Sky earlier, and I really think that is what Starfield is: 2016 No Man's Sky with a Bethesda RPG skin. It has the same lifeless universe NMS did in 2016, the same mechanical issues with the world, which I assume are driven by lazy use of procedural generation, and many of the same problems with the gameplay loop. If you're willing to grind it out for the sake of the RPG mechanics and ship-building, the two lone bright spots of this title, then more power to you. Personally, I found this game tedious to play and unrewarding to explore.

    The game's biggest strength is its exploration. There are over 100 star systems to explore, each with its own planets, moons, and space stations. However, the planets are all procedurally generated, which can make them feel samey and repetitive. There is also a lack of variety in the wildlife and the environment.

    The game's combat is also underwhelming. It is serviceable, but it is not very engaging. The weapons feel weak and the enemies are not very challenging.

    The game's story is also a letdown. It is predictable and uninspired. The characters are also one-dimensional and forgettable.

    In addition to the above criticisms, the game is also buggy and unstable. I encountered several bugs during my playthrough, including quests that would not progress and enemies that would not spawn. The game is also poorly optimized. The frame rate can be choppy, even on high-end PCs.

    The game's UI is also clunky and unintuitive. It can be difficult to find what you are looking for. The game's dialogue is wooden and unnatural. The characters often say things that do not make sense.

    Overall, Starfield is a flawed game that does not live up to its potential. It is a derivative game that borrows heavily from other space RPGs. There is nothing in Starfield that feels truly new or groundbreaking.

    I hope that Bethesda will address the game's shortcomings in future updates, but I am not holding my breath.

    After waiting so long for this game, I am truly disappointed. The overhype was what destroyed this for me. After playing over 20 hours I will never get that time of my life back. I gave this game a 3-10 because of the stale gameplay and copy and paste this developer did. There is no true new IP. Basically Skyrim in space and Skyrim was an amazing game. But this game does not define a game of the generation and this company needs to do better. Expand

    It's a big game, but starts way too slowly, and may never get interesting.

    It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

    While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
