    Currently unplayable on XSX for a lot of people. Over 1500 comments in the Bethesda discord alone and there still has yet to be any kind of official statement on it. I will change my review if it is fixed and I can play longer than 20 minutes without my console shutting off completely. As of now I have refunded my purchase until I can actually play without nearly console breaking crashes.

    The game has some minor issues that set it back, repetitive animations, loading screens, but the gameplay is solid and is enjoyable after you pass the first 4 hours.
    Good RPG experience.
    If BETHESDA decides to improve it and reduces the loading screens, adds more different enemies, and is able to add new animations and fix bugs the game can be a solid 10/10, for me is an 8/10 good game,    The game has some minor issues that set it back, repetitive animations, loading screens, but the gameplay is solid and is enjoyable after you pass the first 4 hours.

    Je lui mets la note maximale pour compenser le review bombing des joueurs PlayStation frustrés. Il a clairement le défaut de casser l'immersion via ses voyages rapides et ses temps de chargement. Le moteur est daté, les PNJ bien trop figés. Quelques bugs de ci de là . Mais PUTAIN, on peut tout faire! Le lore, l'histoire, les quêtes sont dingues. Ce sentiment de liberté que l'on neJe lui mets la note maximale pour compenser le review bombing des joueurs PlayStation frustrés. Il a clairement le défaut de casser l'immersion via ses voyages rapides et ses temps de chargement. Le moteur est daté, les PNJ bien trop figés. Quelques bugs de ci de là .     Bethesda nous livre un pur jeux de leurs crue les quêtes sont très bien écrite et vous en avez a foison et elle ne se ressemblent pas l'univers et très permissif et très bien créer ouvert les personnages sont prenant le lore et vraiment prenant je le recommande chaudement

    Masterpiece! Though it actually has some bugs, but I can get used to it, and still enjoy the game. Especially, I can immerse myself into the Starfield universe. And I'm hoping the next game developed by Bethesda Softworks.
    BTW, I'm looking forward to the mods activated on the Xbox consoles. Please don't let me wait for too long. Thanks. Peace and out!

    I was not excited for the game, but i tried it anyway because i played lot of Skyrim. This sadly is not close to Skyrim at space, its just boring go play side quest or do something else then main story. Pretty sad for the money. This game could be good Shooter game not rpg.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Starfield is a Bethesda game through and through. That comes with all its ups yet sadly also all it downs. Subjectively, I am enjoying this game a lot. Objectively, it's not a perfect game by any means - but what does that even mean? Imo, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Baldurs Gate 3 are near perfect games, but I am not enjoying playing them. Starfield has a lot of room to improve, but I cannot stop playing it - I am at almost 80 hours now since last friday.

    Some real cons are the companion system. It's more than sad that Bethesda didn't only not improve the systems, but made them worse. Baldurs Gate 3 shows how great companions can be, Starfield does not. The graphics are also a weird case - sometimes the game looks absolutely stunning, sometimes completely garbage. The character models (faces, hair, skin etc.) are especially bad and make the game look outdated in comparison.

    The story is probably the best Bethesda has ever done - it's not spectacular, but it's also not as bad as for example Fallout 4 main campaign. How they implemented NG+ is interesting but also counterintuitive. If you care about the little stuff NG+ has to offer, it might make you rush through the game the first times and that can absolutely ruin it. And it also takes some feel of importance out of the characters and their stories sadly.

    The world spaces (or tiles) feel massive. I really hope that at some point we get land vehicles, because running around takes so long. And it won't be everyones taste that there is so much nothing - I also prefer compact, filled open worlds from older Bethesda titles. But the POIs are designed beautifully and packed with clutter and details, which makes the spaces much more believable than for example Fallout 4s rather scarce dungeons.

    Ship stuff could be extended but also is a lot deeper than the first couple of hours make you think. I love it. I am already spending way too much time building my ship, which is another reason why I won't start NG+ until there is a mod that lets me save my ship designs lmao.

    Overall, this is a great game. Sadly, it will again need a lot of modders work to make it an outstanding game, but the vanilla experience is already much improved from what Fallout 4 had to offer back in 2015.    … Expand

    One of my favourite Bethesda games.The combat is their best exploration is also really good.The games starts slow but gets really fun after a while.There are few minor bugs but overall it’s a great game

    All, this game is epic. True, it's not perfect but Bethesda will polish this diamond in the next few months. Scale of play is enormous and if anyone issues a score based on 5hrs of gameplay, the are jokers and worth a laugh. I put in over 30hrs and just scratching the surface. I have put 10 to counter silly 0. My real score for time being would be 7.5 COME ON FANS, LET'S STAND UP TOAll, this game is epic.     Best bethesda game i'v ever played and i loved all previous titles. If you love exploration and masses of well written quests and hunting beats on far away planets i would recommend highly. Dont trust the 0 scores. One user created over 600 accounts just to review bomb. Theyre pathetic. Ignore them. The game is tons of fun.

    This is everything I wanted from a Bethesda space RPG. It's a brilliant game! My only criticisms would be the map is a little confusing and the loading screens can be annoying. It takes a few hours to get into the game but once you get going you get hooked! I highly recommend this game

    Boring as hell, a game that cant even offer a seamless interior space. Self-righteous plotlines that are boring as hell, uninspring gameplay, weapons and imagination in a futuristic world, what a big waste of money, time and resources.

    Massive scope, so much to do. Very few bugs I've encountered, but it's easy to get distracted from quests for exploring and lacklustre space flight are the only reasons I didn't give it a 10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The most over hyped, over inflated title I've seen in a long time. The character creation is so limited compared to its contemporaries and even previous Bethesda titles. Only 1 kind of blue eye colour but loads of reds and yellows for some reason, and only one type of long beard, and its got a twirly whirly moustache attached to it that you can't change. If you watched streamers talking about the game look at how all their characters look basically the same, you'll see what I mean about limited choice. The story is basic and rushed. The way you obtain a ship is hilarious, some guy turns up and just give it to you, a complete stranger, no questions asked! Also the whole "I touched an artefact and now I have visions" is such an overused trope, Mass effect did it, and did better frankly. The game also stutters, locks up and lags in conversations making it look like a badly dubbed movie. I'm told this is because I have to buy new hardware to run this game. So on top of the £60 for the game, I have to spend an additional £80 to buy a SSD because the game won't run on HDD. My computer is less than 2 years old, it runs most games on ultra, no problem, but starfield runs like a clunky even on low. That just seems like Bethesda designed themselves into a corner, and the only solutions were either spend a lot of money to make it run on standard hardware, or let the customer absorb the cost by making it for SSD only. So they opted for us to pay for their mistake. Just a theory, but seems logical to assume that's what happened.… Expand

    EL mejor juego de los últimos años, le pese a quien le pese. Si fuera de Sony, los medios estarían vendiendo que es "review bombing", pero como todas las notas negativas las han puesto piperos que no han jugado el juego... No hay más que decir.
    Lástima que metacritic no sea como Amazon, no puedes postear reviews sin haber comprado el juego.

Und wer sich über "zuviele" karge Planeten/Monde beschwert sollte mal bitte in unser Sonnensystem schauen, da ist es nicht anders.. einer von 8/9 ist nicht karg. Wer sich auf das Game einlässt und sich genau umschaut findet sehr schöne Planeten mit Flora und Fauna, aber es gibt auch eher karge Planeten die mit ihrer Aussicht auf einen Gas oderKein Meisterwerk aber ein tolles RPG.     To conclude the NEW GAME +,I really loving it...it’s a complete different NEW GAME + that you are used to(discover it by your self).I hope that more games implements this type of NEW GAME +

    This game is almost like multiple games in one. It's almost not a game rather it's an experience. Also, one aspect of Bethesda games that has turn me of a little is the clunky combat. I'm really enjoying the combat in this game especially the dynamics the jet pack brings. I fully engrossed in this world that is shaped by me and can't wait for the next time I play.

    Game’s phenomenal. Nothing more to it. Best game I’ve played in a while I’ve put in 70+ hours since early access! Maybe a few little things that need fixed but the games deep immersion makes you forget about the little things and takes you right into the worlds that you’re playing in.

    The game is really addicting. Can't stop playing. It's more like 8 out of 10, because there are some annoying bugs and some not so polished mechanics, but the fun factor is 10 out of 10.

Too many loading screens, washed out colors, boring planets with the same locations. I've had several of the exact mines at different locations. AI is dumb as a box of rocks. And certain things don't make much sense. There is the illusion of flying, by moving it around the atmosphere of a planet, with a smattering of chanky space combat.

    Where the game struggles I think is lore ... I have no feeling for it at all. Elder Scrolls/Fallout they crafted a world. Starfield - I don't get any world building sense. Yeah there are things that mark it as a Bethesda game, turrets, consoles, lock picking, inventory management, perks, bugs etc. But I don't care about the lore - everything is so generic. My initial feeling was it played like just any other space game, a lot of other space games have done it a lot better.

    Generally just don't believe the hype with this one, it is boring. There is no 'wow' factor to the game, that blows your socks off. It is just grind and while grind in itself is not too bad if you have a captivating story or interesting characters, this game lacks on both scores.

    Overall has some potential, imagine once PC modders get into it and start showing Bethesda what is actually possible. Then Bethesda take those ideas and filter them into the game over time. Starfield will end up a reasonable game. But at the minute it is seriously lacking something, and all I can think is there isn't much lore or anything.    … Expand

    我可以打包票，这款游戏的用户体验，除了文本叙事，其他体验几乎没有，而且特别差！有的人说预告片里有的都做出来了。是吗？并不是，比如全局光照就没有。本作的出门冒险体验比在城里逛街要好不少，因为探险的交互远比和人打交道要简单。没有运镜加上贴脸镜头以及糟糕的表情控制外加没有中文配音，让我在对话中的沉浸感极差。有时再加上生硬的镜头运用和队友NPC奇怪的站位（桌子上，墙后面，天花板），让人出戏的情况时有发生。这些用户体验方面的缺点要我罗列下来，讲不了一天一夜也能讲一个下午。    客观地说，这是一款优缺点都很明显的游戏。优点自然不必说，还是传统经典的BRPG那一套：大量的叙事和错综复杂的人物关系，交织如网的任务触发形式。这套玩法有自己独特的魅力。

    总而言之，你以为贝塞斯达八年磨一剑，没想到它拿出了八年前的剑。其不思进取，故步自封的态度可见一斑。
    近年来，《遗忘之城》《天外世界》证明了BRPG不是只有你贝塞斯达可以做，而且可以比你更好！如果我要玩所谓的BETHASDA味道我可以回去玩辐射4和上古卷轴5，如果我要玩太空RPG我还可以去玩质量效应。

    I dont know if it is a game of the decade but it is for sure something new from scratch and this year only BG3 can compete, but these are so different games that they should not run in the same race.

    At the end game is very good but not for me. BG3, also I never liked BG serie. and now turn based - bleeee.

From the jittery inconsistent barely 30 fps that was like razors to my eyes, to the 2 gen old outdated graphics, the ugly NPC's, the lobotomized AI, the litany of load screens, the terrible voice acting and the horrendous sound, it truly is an onslaught on the senses. The principles of design used in this game is straight out of 2004. For a game that is supposed to be the heavily exploration based and encouraged, there is almost no reason to explore, unless you want to run into an invisible wall. The game does have moments of broken brilliance, which will be used for comedic content for years to come.

    The immersion is nonexistent, nevermind it breaking. You're in space. You pick a planet. You pick an area. It loads. No hyper space, no navigating, no landing your space ship. Nothing. Just a load screen. You land and are kinda just dumped onto the "planet"... which is nothing more than a small area that is completely disconnected from the rest of the "planet". You go into a structure. It loads. You leave the structure, it loads. You go onto your ship and it pops a menu up. You pick going back to space. It loads and it spits you out in the middle of nowhere.

    This is the most uninspired and outdated game I have seen in ages. It's straight out of the OG Xbox Era. I'm scared to get smacked by a Duke controller. The space fighting is slow, clunky and boring. Many MANY games have done it better, including Wing Commander on the SNES. The saddest part of this is that it doesn't even get "good" until you beat it. Unfortunately, life is too short and I didn't feel like torturing myself anymore and tapped out after 20 hours. I'd have demanded a refund, except I got this for free and Microsoft doesn't refund their customers for wasted life force. This game should not get a pass because it is better than their other games in some ways. Especially when it is a dumpster fire compared to other space exploration games and/or other RPG's that exist today and in years past.

    Get No Man's Sky. Starfield is the Wish version of that game. Except it's over-funded. You can tell just by how homogeneous and boring that this game is, that this game nothing more than a contractual obligation... almost like Sunset Overdrive. This game is trying to take Redfall's title for worst game of the generation. Definitely "game of the generation" Xbox fans have been waiting for.    … Expand

    Slow build up but worth the wait. Awesome spaceship battles and immense variety of worlds I love the facts that doing your side quests matters just as much as doing your main story. Playing this on the Xbox Series S and I rarely get a lot of bugs. Fps is really consistent

    Not the very best graphics, but often breathtaking, but the gameplay in particular is very appealing.

X-Box 360 graphics, ugly character models, awful story and writing, countless bugs, boring and repetitive quests, clunky gunplay, confusing UI, braindead AI, bad space travel, absolutely nothing to actually explore, loading screens more common than mobile game ads, jarring color schemes, no heart or soul to be found.

Believe it or not, even with this main character, this game answers RPGs. This alone shows how deep this game is, with top-notch graphics, quality, volume, and varied gameplay.     Very poor attention to details for a modern production; feels very 2005. Poor characters (NPCs). Impossible to remove pronouns. Way to woke for normal production - feels they had an agenda to push, rather than focusing on what matters in a game. You can choose which way paper roll hangs in the toilet - which raised my rating from 3 to 4 Play BG3 instead - this one is not worth a penny in 2023

    This game is a last gen game. With so much media hype behind it that it convinced me to pick it up. after buying it and playing it for 10 hours or so I realised it was a scam. Holy balls, this this utterly boring and broken. The staunch support is probably Xbox guys wishing this was good.

    I have logged hundreds of hours in fallout3 and skyrim. I played only 5 hours on starfield but from what i have seen it's a game that actually don't want to invest anymore time. There are no bugs because simply there are minimal changes to the game engine.     I wish that metacritic would atleast make people verify a purchase of the game! I'm over 40hrs in and I don't feel like I've played more than 8hrs. There's too much to see. This game is a legend in the making. Such a great story with great gameplay. I'll never get enough of this sweet goodness!

    My god this things a mess, once again flopesda strikes again. How can anyone play this and actually think it's ok? I played on PC had issues, so tried on my XBox series X and had issues. Thank god it was day one gamepass, no way you'd pay for this.

    What of the greatest games I played this year! Most definetly living up to the bathesda style I have grown to love. Don't listen to these low life hateful ratings by these console warrior trolls that have nothing better to do but spit there venom and tears dictate you interest in playing starfield. If you love bethesda, you will love this game!

    A fantastic game you can get lost in for a very long time. The atmosphere is immense and the questing/dialogue is the best BGS has ever did. I see the game getting alot of negative scores on this, quite a number of 0's. It's a real shame that the planned review bomb campaign for this game has gone ahead, and been allowed to go ahead.

    I played starfield on PC & genuinely did not like it. Its an empty shell when compared to a game like skyrim or even oblivion in some aspects. Only the Xbox fanboys are hyping up this mid game is cuz its not on Playstation.

    The graphics are from 2014, the gameplay is janky and not good, the NPCs are dumb and ugly, its chock full of loading screens & exploration is unrewarding and not fun.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The perfect Bethesda experience, may be the most polished and bug free Bethesda titles released to date, the story is interesting and engaging, the companions each feel like their own people with their own stories.

    The 'Outposts system is far better than its precursor in Fallout 4, the build area in much larger than most Fallout settlements and their are more complex mechanics as well.

    The ship building mechanics are also very detailed and fleshed out, can build anything from the Millennium Falcon to a Halo inspired Pelacan.

    This game truly gives me hope for the future of not just Bethesda titles but the gaming industry as a whole    … Expand

The game is pretty great, and most people that dont have obscene expectations will enjoy it. Its a game with tons of roleplaying oppertunity's and ways to really make a playthrough unique. If you visit all the handcrafted locations you can clearly tell alot of time has been put in making these distinct and interesting, while the procedural makes for some fun exploration between missions. Its definitly different though, there is a bigger focus on exploration here. Also the menu's are pretty difficult to get you used too, this could have been executed better.

    THE game of the year. Don't listen to the young people that need a battle pass to keep them entertained. This will take you back to the glory days of gaming. Say what you will about Xbox, they have a gem on their hands. One of the greatest games ever made.

    One of the biggest gaming disappointments. I was so hyped for this game. I love space exploring. But this game is horrible. It’s like they wanted to make a space game, without caring about space. Physics are bad. The space flying performances are horrible. The story is dull. I really thought that it’s going to be interesting and fun to explore the different kind of planets.     It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

    While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
