Resident Evil Requiem is easily my favorite game so far in 2026. It is very high on my list of Resident Evil games, only fighting with RE2 as the best of all time. This is an easy recommendation. This game is one of the best I have played in years, and I cannot recommend it enough. Do not hesitate, play this game. Capcom continues to hit on all cylinders, and I cannot wait to see what they do next.

Resident Evil Requiem is a pitch perfect love letter to fans of the series. Capcom has absolutely nailed the dual protagonist mechanic which sits at the core of a truly incredible piece of storytelling. The result is a must-play title for those both familiar and new to the series. Put simply, it’s an absolute tour de force.

I can only describe Resident Evil Requiem as an absolute blockbuster—a relentless rollercoaster where Grace’s nerve-shredding survival horror and Leon’s explosive action blend seamlessly, delivering a stunning, innovative yet faithful experience that stands among the very best the franchise has ever offered.

Resident Evil Requiem is an incredible game. I’m sad I didn’t get to review it early for you, but just know that if you’ve been waiting for my thoughts, it’s really damned good. My favorite in the series, in fact. I loved Resident Evil 4’s remake, for the first 75%, but that game went on a little too long. Resident Evil Requiem’s pacing leads to a snappy, scary, breath-taking time that no other series can quite match. It’s an amazing title, balancing survival horror and balls-to-the-wall action like few ever have before.

Resident Evil Requiem is a tribute to a legendary saga. While it may not appeal to everyone, what it does, it does very well, resulting in an outstanding installment with a few minor flaws.

Resident Evil Requiem masterfully balances both souls of the series, while honoring a three-decade-old lore and laying the foundations for the future. Grace’s psychological terror and Leon’s action-driven intensity are expertly balanced and are coupled by great visuals and compelling storytelling. A must-play, both for the series' fans and anyone looking for an intense adventure.

If you like the Resident Evil series in any way, you need to give Resident Evil Requiem a try. It’s such a great blend of the newer RE’s all in one game. RE7 is often said to be the scariest RE (some say too scary) and RE4 is said to be the most fun in terms of gameplay and this game combines both of them. Between the two character scenarios it offers a lot of variety. No matter which system you choose to get this on, just buy it. You can’t go wrong with any console – it’s a blast either way.

A brilliantly effective blend of the old and the new, Resident Evil Requiem succeeds in just about every conceivable department. It's tense, compelling, and an all-round good time.

Resident Evil Requiem is the most cinematic, bloody, surprisingly emotional moment for the franchise to-date. Its two protagonists complement one another for a balanced experience that feels more narrativized than ever before, with bombastic combat and strong set pieces amping up the nostalgia without feeling gimmicky. Requiem sees Capcom drawing from 30 years of terror to expand its lore, chart a path forward, and pay homage to a gilded survival horror legacy – one with plenty of life left in it.

Resident Evil: Requiem accomplishes something extremely rare: it takes a historic franchise, packages all the strengths—and in some ways even the flaws—of its previous installments, and somehow makes it feel fresh, surprising, and necessary even today. Its more mature narrative, the duality of its protagonists, layered gameplay, and a virtually flawless technical execution come together to create an experience that thrives not only on nostalgia but also on evolution. This chapter truly raises the quality bar for modern survival horror. Fans of the genre, as well as newcomers to both the series and survival horror itself, will find a concentration of tension and atmosphere that is difficult to match. It is accessible without being simplified, spectacular without losing its identity, and above all frightening in exactly the right way. Resident Evil: Requiem once again proves why this franchise continues to be an absolute benchmark. If the goal was to create the best Resident Evil ever made, Requiem comes very close.

Resident Evil Requiem not only succeeds as an anniversary title; it firmly positions itself among the best entries in the series. It stands as a tangible celebration of 30 years of evolution, understanding both longtime fans and those who joined during the newer first-person era…Its story grips you from beginning to end, the gameplay duality keeps the experience fresh throughout the entire campaign, and the technical performance reaffirms Capcom’s mastery of the genre. Even after all these years, Resident Evil isn’t just alive, it remains a benchmark. And Requiem proves that the king of survival horror still has plenty to say.

Resident Evil Requiem is another supremely confident survival horror experience from the folks over at Capcom. Whether you like the slower, more puzzle-focused elements of RE2 or the bombastic set pieces of RE4 (or both, if you're like me), you're going to be well-served by this new entry in the franchise. Whilst not the strongest narrative in series history, Requiem does enough to build intrigue throughout its roughly 10-12 hour experience, and the Grace and Leon sections are masterfully intertwined. Capcom really knows what it's doing with Resident Evil nowadays, and that shows in one of the best AAA survival horror games you can play on Xbox Series X|S.

Resident Evil Requiem is another instant classic in the overarching canon, as Capcom once again tries its hand at a dual-protagonist, dual-gameplay style approach. Grizzled veteran Leon plays like a Michael Bay action hero, and fearful rookie Grace plays like she's still restricted by tank controls in the OG Resident Evil mansion. The contrasting styles don't always work, but when they do, Requiem truly sings. Another fantastic entry that horror fans cannot miss.

With Requiem, the grand finale is complete: Capcom unites all fans of its saga in a bloody communion, whether they prefer first-person horror or over-the-shoulder action. Capitalizing on fan service, this Resident Evil resurrects the dead as much as memories, but could it have been otherwise with Leon confronted by his eternal demons? Admittedly, Requiem rehashes old ideas, but it brilliantly succeeds in its gamble of delivering two games in one, even if the story is once again a flimsy excuse for all sorts of extravagances. Beautiful, generous, well-paced, comprehensive, and designed to satisfy longtime fans, Resident Evil Requiem is devoured like a rich, over-the-top compilation with extra ketchup.

With Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom makes a sensational comeback! Players are drawn in by the sumptuous art direction, a chilling horror universe that stays true to its roots, and a perfectly mastered duality of gameplay and storytelling. The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat with new mysteries, the photorealistic graphics are striking, and the monstrously effective sound design plunges you into an intense, fast-paced nightmare. Some interesting new features such as the blood collector and the various mutations, breathe new life into a saga that refuses to die, much to our delight! Without being revolutionary, and even if everything isn't perfect (some camera movements can be a bit erratic at times), Requiem is one of the most accomplished episodes: epic, spectacular, modern, respectful of its origins and resolutely forward-looking. We recommend it without hesitation!
