    Day and date 30fps mode with average graphic on the world's most powerful console. No quick resume on consoles and can't pause the game, even while navigating the menu a stray dracula can kill you. Default setting on controller give huge deadzone on the stick and combined with the stuttering 30fps leading to unresponsive experiences. Mindless missions presented with a low budget slideshows cut scenes instead of proper cinematic animated cut scenes like the one they shows off in the trailer. With so many mission breaking bugs, sometimes unable to crouch and countless display and UI glitches that can and will obstructed gameplay requiring players to resetting the game manually never mind the occasionally crashes, the best times you can had with this game is exploring its brain dead AI which does not made it worth for $70. If you want to get a massive headaches while trying to bored yourself, then play this game. 60fps patch is not included day and date.… Expand

    Gameplay - The Gunplay is probably the best part of the game, but it is dragged down by other elements like weird AI behavior, repetitive/boring encounters, and weird gun progression. I'll explain a couple of these below. (Gunplay feels good) Encounters - You fight the same basic enemies, and early on the game    NOTE - I AM MAKING THIS REVIEW AFTER PLAYING PATCH 1.1 (ON XBOX SERIES S)

    Gameplay - The Gunplay is probably the best part of the game, but it is dragged down by other elements like weird AI behavior, repetitive/boring encounters, and weird gun progression. I'll explain a couple of these below. (Gunplay feels good)

    Encounters - You fight the same basic enemies, and early on the game introduces a few mini-boss enemies that don't show up that often. Missions also feel very similar in their design. Outside missions, the world doesn't have much else to offer. Also, even though the world is small, it feels empty in most areas that are not mission locations.

    Weird Gun Progression - The way the game gives you weapons feels off. I usually just use weapons dropped by the rook or sold in the firehouse. Pretty much all the lootable weapons in the game seem like they are only meant to be scrap. They are usually either worse than the weapons you have or are the same as the ones you have but they don't have unique properties or buffs that beg you to switch up your loadout that often.

    Story - It can get a bit interesting at certain parts, but that's if you sit through the slideshows and audio logs. It feels like Arkane just animated that one cutscene at the beginning of the game and stopped.

    Environment/Atmosphere - The actual environment and atmosphere are also good parts of the game. The environments are detailed and interesting. The atmosphere is also good, but the sound/music can be a bit weird at times. For the music, it was good and made a spooky atmosphere in most parts of the world, but some areas like the firehouse have trap-like music playing. I have just accepted it and it doesn't bother me, but it's a subjective topic.

    Graphics/Bugs - Even after patch 1.1, there are still many bugs that pull the entire experience down more. There are still weird ones with the map, subtitles, graphics, sound, stability, and more. The graphical side of the game is just broken, there's not much to say about it.

    More - There's still stuff I haven't talked about, including topics like UI and things I didn't talk about in topics I wrote about above. It's a "meh" game that can improve a bit over time. This review is only looking at the game itself. I'm not going to bring up anything about development, broken promises, staffing issues, and other things.

    Future - This will not impact the score at all, but Redfall can improve. If State of Decay 2 is to go by, then a small team at Arkane Austin can make Redfall a better game. They can still roll out patches to fix bugs, AI, graphics, and more. They could also possibly fix issues relating to content. It could probably go from a 3-5/10 game to a 6-7/10 one.    … Expand

It looks like a ID@Xbox game was left out and skipped the Xbox 360 Era of arcade games. Redfall is a sorry, lame excuse for a game. Graphics take 10+ seconds to render, locked at 30fps, and while all that is happeningIf someone asked me what I think my top 3 worst games I have ever played were, this is going right up there. This game is disgusting looking for a "next gen" experience. It looks like a ID@Xbox game was left out and skipped the Xbox 360 Era of arcade games. Redfall is a sorry, lame excuse for a game. At best Redfall is a bargain bin game that you would find at gamestop for a dollar because I wouldn't ever spend more on this game.     One of the worst experiences I've ever had on Xbox. The game is very clunky. The AI breaks all the time and the textures take years to load in. I do not recommend playing this game or spending any money on it. Even if you have game pass don't download it. I would rather go back to my 360. The textures and graphics look better.

    Truly hideous visual design. Truly unbelievably ugly character models. Terrible weapon design. Boring combat at the best of times, broken and buggy at the worst. AI is either cheating or is brain-dead. Combat design is frustrating (why can't I just use a stake as a melee weapon? Why does it have to be attached to my gun?). Game design in general is frustrating: huge glass window next to aTruly hideous visual design. Truly unbelievably ugly character models. Terrible weapon design. Boring combat at the best of times, broken and buggy at the worst. AI is either cheating or is brain-dead. Combat design is frustrating (why can't I just use a stake as a melee weapon? Why does it have to be attached to my gun?). Game design in general is frustrating: huge glass window next to a locked door? That window is invincible and can't be broken, so you must use a precious lockpick. Huge glass window that leads nowhere and is not important? It can be broken. Glacially slow XP gain means that you don't feel that you're advancing in any way. Enemies can and will spawn either into walls or will just pop into existence directly behind you whenever they please. The gun visuals are so hilariously overdone it's actually kinda shocking: most guns look like they're either out of Borderlands, Tron, or Diablo. The only enemies that offer any kind of challenge are the vampires and they all behave the same way.

    Just an utter, complete mess. It's free on Games Pass and I still won't play it again. Maybe it's fun with friends (most things are) but playing solo the game's loop is so broken and unsatisfying it feels like punishment.    … Expand

    Des graphismes digne de la Xbox one, un contenue assez pauvre et un scénario inintéressant qui sert juste pour décorer. Dommage car certains éléments de gameplay sont pour le coup intéressant même si il y reste du travail. Déception est    Du gâchis! Le jeu a du potentiel , et aurait pus être enfin un triple à digne de ce nom du côté de chez Xbox, mais il démontre beaucoup trop de lacunes.

Only the Host able to keep mission progress, and underwhelming loot , and other odd design choices hurt my enjoyment further.

    I played the Redfall for 1h and its unspeakable... The game have worst gameplay I see that only sprint, jump and kill that bad A.I Vampire's. I see low-quality textures that even can't look on that. I sorry for Arkane Austin and Microsoft.

    As a fan of the studio's previous works, I've played Redfall from start to finish. The disappointment has been tremendous: it is a mediocre game in almost every aspect.     The characters are lackluster which isn't helped by the lack of cutscenes. Rather, like the still images we get in the story, the characters are just copy and pasted stereotypes who, again, have much more potentially to be unique. Playsble characters don't feel much different from one another and their abilities are half- baked.

    I have heard that co-op is better, but lacks a reasonable progression system, however I've not played it.

    I can't justify keeping it on my console despite really hoping that a few patches or DLC can bring it back to life. This has been compared to Cyberpunk at its first released which, I didn't play at first, but when I did, I found it to be an incredible game. Here's hoping Redfall follows suit.

    It's not unplayable, but there are so many ideas and mechanics that needed some more time and thought put into them. The world is nice and fr didn't bother me, so no complaints there.    … Expand

    It was free on game pass so I tried to play it and do mean tried. Devs have claimed that Microsoft forced them to take it from a single player game to co-op which takes away from XBOX CEO claims that they took a hands of approach. Regardless of who is to blame or to be believed the game is a steaming pile of Xbox crap i hope upcoming games can help lift the name brand up .

    Após os dois últimos patchs de correção o jogo melhorou muito. Jogo tem uma excelente gunplay, alguns inimigos são bem desafiadores. Como crítica, acho que o sistema de itens poderia ser mais complexo, tipo vc ter que capturar alimentos e medicamentos para a base.

    I made to the end of escaping the ferry at the start, and deleted it.

    Flat voice acting, lackluster graphics, terrible controls that felt like piloting a school bus on ice. Aiming was terrible, moving was a chore, combat was unbelievably poor.

    It’s actually pretty good for me ? The game play was enjoyable and the story is decent! But the voice acting is …..pretty annoying

    The result is a game with no identity of its own. Redfall simultaneously wants to be a looter shooter like Borderlands, in an open world like Fallout's, with action like Dying light and a lengthy multiplayer experience like Destiny. But it fails on all counts. The game environments are bleakly empty, the gameplay is wooden. Like the vampires from the world of Redfall, the game has no soul.

    Sadly, Redfall had unbelievable potential and a dynamic studio behind this that is known for quality gaming, but under delivered at quite literally almost every facet of the game. Redfall, unfortunately, should be avoided, and in fact, I hope that the industry starts taking a look at these games and starts evaluating its processes, because if you're only as good as your last game, then Arkane isn't looking good at all.
