    The game is played on Xbox Series X with Xbox Game Pass subscription.

    Igromechanically it is Far Cry with elements of shooter shooter. We take a mission in the headquarters, we wander around the city and fulfill it. Story missions slowly reveal the plot, sidequests reward experience, loot and new guns. The city itself as a location is quite compact, at first impression a little smaller    The game is played on Xbox Series X with Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Story missions slowly reveal the plot, sidequests reward experience, loot and new guns. The city itself as a location is quite compact, at first impression a little smaller even than the map in Battleroyal like Fortnite. But this is more a plus than a minus: there are no empty spaces, the location is well designed, a lot of nooks, installations, everything is arranged intelligently. And for example in the quest houses, if not all, then almost all can be entered differently.

    The city is very atmospheric, each location is like a frame from the horror movies of 80-90 years.

    Performance on Xbox Series X norm: the game goes in 4k and keeps 30 fps, sometimes there are problems with the loading of textures, met a couple of bugs with hanging enemies. There are problems with AI opponents.

    Redfall is not an expensive project of Deathloop, Hi-Fi Rush or Returnal level. Of course, it was a mistake to sell the game for 70$ and position it as a AAA project (by the way, I have the same complaints about Deathloop and Returnal - they are good niche games, but the price tag is obviously overrated).

    I don't really understand the bluster about the game, everything is much better than it's presented. Redfall instead of being another niche game in the subscription got seriously screwed.

    Arcane game fans wanted Dishonored 3, Xbox fans were waiting for another "Sony answer", Sony fans are dancing on Phil's bones making things worse, that's the way it is :D

    The game is available on Game Pass, I recommend you to read it yourself and make your own opinion. As a fan of old horror games, I was hooked by Redfall. The game is interesting, but unfortunately could have been less problematic on release.

    The first playthrough of the game on mah available difficulty took 18 hours, now I will wait for patches and try Redfall on the last difficulty level.    … Expand

    The game takes place during a vampire invasion, wherein a group of legendary survivors must step up. RedFall features four charismatic and very memorable characters: Layla, Jacob, Remi, and Devinder, who each come with their own stunningly original playstyles and wacky backgrounds. While gamers are encouraged to engage in cooperative play, RedFall ensures that a single-player option is not neglected. RedFall is designed to be an online-only title in order to ensure the best single-player experience possible.

    Regarding plot, this game definitely has a story. I would hate to spoil this epic ten-hour campaign, so I will minimize details. However, I would like to suggest that gamers consider putting their friends and family members through this masterwork of a narrative, as the story alone is worth the price of admission. The “Bite Back Edition” is currently priced at $89.99 USD (tax not included, mandatory Xbox Live Gold subscription pricing also not included).

    Regarding gameplay, RedFail absolutely has a shooting experience. The mechanics are incredibly thought out, to the point where RedFall can realistically compete with Doom Eternal and MachineGames’s Wolfenstein titles. The looter aspect is also so astutely tuned that it gives the greatest looter-shooter of all time—Borderlands 2—a run for its money. However, what differs between these titles is that in RedFall, gamers control vastly less “experienced” characters. Sometimes it felt as though shots just weren’t making impact, and other times it felt as though bullets phased right through enemies. It took considerable time for me to get that these are supernatural creatures, and that while the characters aren't as capable or compelling as B.J. Blazkowicz or the Doomslayer, they were surely relatable—as I myself have never held a gun, nor faced a vampire invasion. This is part of what makes Lena, Jack, Lenny, and Tevinter so iconic. I am looking forward to this characterization return with the two upcoming paid downloadable content protagonists.

    The open world of the titular Redfall is highly representative of how a real-life vampiric invasion would be portrayed. Redfall is a lifeless and empty town, with nothing to do but wander around. However, it is important that I specify that gamers will not be wandering around aimlessly as there are plenty of vampires to point and shoot at. It also helps that when you equip one sight to one gun, that sight is universally applied to all other guns (for the duration of that play session), regardless of specifications.

    While this is just a personal gripe, I was very much taken aback by how disturbing the enemy visuals were in this game. The constant clipping through assets and jagged animations made the vampires unpredictable and added to their supernatural nature. Some of the vampires even reminded me of the eponymous vampire from last year’s hit, Morbius, which I very much appreciated. The enemy designs oftentimes made it very challenging for me to keep my eyes on the screen, among other things. Thankfully, the A.I. in this title is also very accommodating. The aim of the various “Hollow Man Cultists” is on par with Stormtroopers from the Star Wars franchise, as there were countless occasions wherein these opponents were firing directly into the ground, allowing ample time to make a getaway.

    However, there is unfortunately no such thing as a perfect game, as there are a couple of minor issues with this title that stood out to me. For one, RedFall seems to lack any unified creative vision—however, this is only a minor gripe as the game handles both its open world and A.I. expertly well.

    While on the topic of complaints being levied, I have noticed a handful of critiques that claim much more serious and fundamental problems. Complaints cite things like “a lack of content,” “endless bugs,” or that “it feels like a paid beta test.” One particular commentator I saw kept confusing RedFall with 2018’s Fallout 76, which faced the same unjustified scrutiny for its accurate portrayal of a barren and desolate post-nuclear West Virginia. I, for one, do not support these claims as I have not personally encountered any such issues for the duration of my own playtime. Regardless of these comments, in addition to not actually owning an Xbox Series X home gaming console, I very much enjoyed watching others experience this masterpiece for me, nonetheless.

    Ultimately, I cannot recommend RenField enough, so please go out and support this masterpiece. The game currently supports 30 frames-per-second—highly representative of current-gen gaming potential. The future of Xbox is here!    … Expand

    A game with visual bugs and weak ai at times. But it's still very fun and shouldn't be ignored.

    An 8 if the bugs are fixed.
    Don't believe all the fake troll reviews 4 and below. It is ruining metacritic.

    The game is definitely not as bad as people are trying to make it out to be. The broken AI and performance are definitely the only big problems I’m experiencing (and I expect them to be fixed in the near future). The ridiculous and disproportionate outrage against this game and team, driven by console war hatred is disgusting.

    Ughhh haters are the absolute worst. Like... I guess sucking the joy out of everything counts as a hobby, but y'all should get a life. This game is wonderful. Look... it's got issues, but it's ultimately a lot of fun to play, looks good, and has a really cool Stephen King-esque vibe. It's not gunna change the world, but it's a solid title.

    Love this game. After patch its fine and plays beautifuly. I have had so much fun. Redfall is great once you get past the first hour.

    It's a 7.5/10 for me, but I'm giving it a 8 since only integers are allowed. I like the atmosphere of the game, it's nice especially during nighttime. The combat is actually fun when it works, but the AI seems unaware of your presence at times. The performance is acceptable, the game is not fast paced, but I think games in first person view cannot do without 60 fps. This game adds to theIt's a 7.5/10 for me, but I'm giving it a 8 since only integers are allowed. I like the atmosphere of the game, it's nice especially during nighttime.     I've been enjoying this title quite a bit. On my first few plays, I did experience a few bugs and some wonky enemy AI, but nothing after that. It could use a polish, as I have noticed some floating items and objects that defy gravity, but it's nothing game breaking. The game has great sound design and atmosphere, and I keep wanting to go back and play more.

Other games in a worse state the day of their release didn't receive such level of hate. Just give it a chance, even with its mistakes is pretty fun.

    If looking for a grand single player narrative then this game won't be for you. I had fun with my 17 hour playthrough. I experienced a couple minor bugs but overall it was pretty good.

Yo la verdad aprecio a Arkane y tenia esperanzas de un muy buen juego pero es cierto que se queda muy corto, aunque en ciertos aspectos del estilo de arkane cumple bastante bien, el rendimiento va bien pero es mejorable, los graficos, iluminacion, sondio y ambientacion esta muy bien hecho, habilidades, armas y variedad de enemigos estan bien, las misiones secundarias y principales son interesantes y desde luego te hacen pasar un buen rato pero en cuanto a la IA es muy floja, las mecánicas de movimiento son muy toscas, la historias no es tan buena y los npcs no son muy carismáticos. En fin para mi sigue siendo muy divertido y le daba un 7 o un 6 pero de verdad dejad de llorar y criticar algo que ni siquiera habéis probado o jugado solo porque es de la "competencia", que eres de Albacete y mañana tienes examen de Mates a primera, no eres un embajador de ninguna empresa. Quand on voit des mastodontes comme jedi fallen order bourré de bug, au moins redfall est jouable , pas le plus beau mais pas le plus moche non plus. Si vous y jouez dans le gamepass, n’hésitez pas à plonger dans l’aventure. Par contre, à l’achat son prix devrait davantage tourner entre 40 et 50€ au lieu de 80€.… Expand

    El bueno me gustó. Creo que hay mucho Review bombing. Es verdad que hay algunos bugs, problemas de rendimiento no note y lo más críticable es la IA de los enemigos. El juego en si es bueno, los gráficos son modelados de alta calidad pero con un estilo de los 80. El juego quiere remitir al jugador a una época de película de terror retro. Mis modelos son medios caricaturescos cómo forniteEl bueno me gustó. Creo que hay mucho Review bombing. El juego en si es bueno, los gráficos son modelados de alta calidad pero con un estilo de los 80. El juego quiere remitir al jugador a una época de película de terror retro. Mis modelos son medios caricaturescos cómo fornite (pero eso no es malo). A mí me gustó y me lo pasé casi completamente. Con respecto al rendimiento, esperen a un parche y si no le gusta ese estilo de juego, no lo jueguen. Es como a mí que no me gusta el pixer art y no juego mine craft.     Juego para jugar en el nivel más difícil y hacer las misiones en cooperación con amigos para que sea todo un reto, súper divertido explorar y palmar haciéndolo con compañeros, misiones secundarios y nidos bastante buenos, y para mi un diseño artístico y música de tensión de una ciudad infestada muy buena.

    Aiming and looting is a bit weird but with a squad you can have fun. People are complaining about graphics and what not. It’s a cartoonish game what did you expect. We’re having mad fun playing it.

Es un juego entretenido, con una buena banda sonora, la historia no es la mejor pero es buena, a pesar de las quejas sobre su falta de modo rendimiento pienso que en este juego no es esencial, de lo que he jugado no me parece una jugabilidad tan frenética como para que en verdad requiera los 60fps o más, aunque eso no justifica el hecho de que ya lo habían vendido con esa idea, no me he topado con ningún bug, aunque es cierto que la inteligencia artificial no es la mejor, pero nada que afecte la experiencia de juego ya que sigue siendo disfrutable, en cuanto a los gráficos tiene un estilo artístico que no le da un aspecto muy realista, pero definitivamente no son gráficos de pasada generación, tiene una muy buena iluminación, las texturas tienen buenos desplazamientos y buenos mapeos de bump no encontré coaliciones raras en objetos que no deberían tener, los follajes cuentan con movimiento y algunos efectos no se ven nada mal, si comparamos con anteriores juegos de arkane graficamente este se nota más trabajado aunque con ligeros tropiezos en la optimización, en conclusión personalmente no me parece tan mal juego como lo quieren vender tiene sus tropiezos pero nada como para tachar el juego de injugable o disfrutable, es entretenido… Expand

    Not bad... This game is actually pretty fun, especially if you play with friends (and not on easy, lolz). Vampire and their thralls is a nice change from zombies and the guns feel really good. It's got a nice power set for each character and a decent enough narrative even though that's secondary to me behind the combat and loot. Your base speed is pretty swift so the 30fps isn't asNot bad... This game is actually pretty fun, especially if you play with friends (and not on easy, lolz). Vampire and their thralls is a nice change from zombies and the guns feel really good. It's got a nice power set for each character and a decent enough narrative even though that's secondary to me behind the combat and loot. Your base speed is pretty swift so the 30fps isn't as bad as was expected. i'm gonna give it another run once the update drops, but I don't regret my first playthrough. Pleasantly surprised.… Expand

    Red fall is great, it’s has a very nice Arkane feel to it very traditional. The characters are very lively, the map has an intense feel to it like there’s dread around every corner which makes sense because there are Vamps around. The Vamps move like traditional Vamps move around very fast lashing out at you with their claws. Everything just makes a lot of sense when playing the game.

    I had a blast on xbox game pass on my series x...im 19 hours in and still loving it.
    The few bugs I came across didn't really bother me that much...im not sure why all the hate an amazing game from arkane studios.

    Is not so bad, vibe and setting are great, also has good ideas. For sure, lots of technical issues and very bad graphics but I can't put down the controller. Lots of improvement potentials are in this game, hope it will get it or at least the second installment!

    I will say then that this is a very enjoyable game.
    I feel that the ratings for this title have become too political and that it has been subjected to an unfair amount of undervaluation. The free-form gameplay, where you can explore the somewhat nostalgic town at your leisure, use the special abilities of the main characters to sometimes beat    I have played this game for about 80 hours.
    I will say then that this is a very enjoyable game.
    I feel that the ratings for this title have become too political and that it has been subjected to an unfair amount of undervaluation.
    The free-form gameplay, where you can explore the somewhat nostalgic town at your leisure, use the special abilities of the main characters to sometimes beat down guards and sometimes burn down vampire dwellings, is not too difficult and can be enjoyed with the right amount of tension.
    When I played with my friends, we had the pleasure of cleaving vampires that attacked us in all directions.
    I think this game deserves more recognition than some politically-motivated bad press.    … Expand

    Good game, love the concept! Plays like a farcry game and overall is very enjoyable. Storylines are interesting and fully developed. Multiplayer can be kind of a pain when desynched, but overall fully playable and enjoyable.

    I’m really liking this game a lot I don’t understand the hate yeah it has bugs but so does a lot of other games after a while it will be alot more stable I like it a lot though

    Despite the bugs, glitches, etc., Redfall is so much fun. My son and I are having a great time. The atmosphere, city, audio, story is great. Xbox has already stated that patches are on the way which will fix most of the issues. Try it, you'll like it.

    I loved the game. Super fun, and it had the benefit of working on the PC (Unlike Jedi Survivor).

    Especially fun to play with a friend. I don't really get the hate unless people had some crazy high expectations. I didn't. And it delivered.

    Gostei bastante do jogo, a jogabilidade é muito boa e os inimigos muito bem feitos. Tem uma história interessante, mas precisa de um chefes mais impactantes. Tirando os bugs atuais, que devem ser corrigidos em alguma atualização, o jogo é bem divertido.

    It's not as bad as the reviews suggest it. I started playing and expecting disaster, as seen in these reviews, but the game definitely earns a better score than 3.1. Yes, AI is buggy, and dum, we should have an option for 60 FPS. I did not have any braking bugs, at least on XBOX and the gameplay was ok.

    Redfall acaba de ser lanzado en Xbox, estuve esperando un buen de tiempo para poder probarlo y puedo asegurar que es un buen juego, si, tiene sus detalles pero se me hace muy divertido que a final de cuentas es lo que buscamos en un juego. lo recomiendo ampliamente, denle una oportunidad y veran que se la pasaran muy bien. en graficas le doy un 8, en historia un 9, y en diversion un 9.

    I love every single detail in the game. Atmosphere, ambience and play style is amazing. Sure game has problems but it will fixed in time and we'll see "redfall is actually a good game" videos on youtube, twitter etc.

    Noobs doing no new thing's rating the game low. Change your controller settings, to sliding on bumper buttons, you can cancel movement by pulling back on your left between animations for more fluidity. Great atmosphere, comes to life on harder difficulties. Explore everywhere, gather supplies and discover new locations your own way.

    RedFall is the victim of a witch-hunt and vendetta against Xbox from Sony loyalists in the gaming community & media. Is the game great? No. Is it terrible? No. The story is interesting albeit not told through traditional cinematic cutscenes, opting for notes that the player must seek out themselves through exploration. Majority of these people were always going to hate Redfall simply because it’s an Xbox first party title.     Ignore the reviews try it yourself on gamepass I've got ten hours in yes there is some bugs and no 60 FPS but the game is fun and in enjoying it and can't put the game down

    Es un buen juego le falta pulir varios apartados, uno de ellos es la inteligencia de los enemigos, se nota que algunos menus pueden ser mejores, como otras cosa mas pero si no haces casos a esas alarmas empiezas a juegar y te sumerges en la tematica o lo que el creadores querian trasmitir es buenisimo.

    Las claves son:

    1-. Un buen parche
    2-.integrar mas detalles en algunos apartados

It's easy to compare guns with a pin system. As far as the guns go my only complaint is true lack of variety of Legendary weapons, other than a major stat change. I think they should have changed the skin, rename the weapon for those instances. Level design is actually good. It does feel rushed but overall its a really fun game to play but you have to be willing to put in the hours. I think in the end this will be like a cyberpunk! My true score would be in the range of 7.8-8.2. The "MEDIA" got this wrong! Play it on the gamepass!… Expand

    Each to their own opinion of course and respect to the dissapointment of the haters, but I've got to say that I'm really loving this game. It's atmospheric, beatifull world and just super FUN! I seriously have been playing non stop since I got it. Oh yeah, the ai is pretty broken but I reckonthat will be fixed quickly. Anyway I'm off to play some more :)

    En líneas generales bastante entretenido y de buena calidad me encanto! lo juego en Xbox series X y se mueve bastante bien, la calidad del sonido ambiente y apartado musical bastante bueno, en gráficos se ve bastante bien y para un -first person shooter- a 30fps no me incomoda al ser un videojuego PVE.

    Honestly DO NOT LISTEN TONTHE NAYSAYERS! I will admit playing solo in this game can be blah, but co-op is definitely a blast! Me and the boys have put in over 6 hours so far and just continue to have true amazing gaming moments!! Killing vampires never been so much fun. The added bonus of skills helps make the coop gameplay mechanics even more fun with each of us adding a special uniqueHonestly DO NOT LISTEN TONTHE NAYSAYERS!     El juego es divertido y entretiene. Se nota que los tipos que acá comentan solo son HATERS de XBOX. El juego tiene problemas de IA, pero los gráficos ya se sabían que eran así. El juego cumple y jugable. No sé en donde están jugando los HATERS, pero en SERIES X corre perfecto. Yo seguiré disfrutando del juego y subiendo mi nivel y poderes. El juego es recomendable

    This a well sized open world. Storyline is pretty good. I like the art style and movement and gunplay are pretty good. I’m only going to solo so my is based on that.

    I've only had one minor glitch that forced a restart of the game. a tutorial pop-up that wouldn't go away and I couldn't hold B to make it disappear so I had to restart the game. But apart from that the games runs smoothly on Series X.    … Expand

I didnt start playing until after both of the updates on the release date. There was a 2nd update after 10pm usa and most of the critics were doing reviews on a game release prior to day 1 patches. Some of the complaints I hear are things that are in other aaa games. Like having to be in proximity of host to progress the mission. Just finished playing dead island and in that u had to be within alike a 3 foot circle to progress anything so then in this game they complain about it but its ok in dead island 2.

Playing this solo on Xbox x series and it's running smoothly. It as its bugs that surly will be fixed. Together with the atomic heart release this keeps adding good value to game pass. No complaints!     I like it. Mind you I don't ho off Unqualified critics reviews who play 2 hours or not at all as some have admitted. My squad who play it also jave only minor issues with it being bugs and occasional stuck AI. Use your own brains and eyes and give ut a shot, a real one. 10+ hours. Ypu may be surprised.

The fact that im still wanting to play it after being hours in kinda says it all. Art direction is cool. Sound design is cool. Gunplay is cool. Some minor bugs and visual hiccups can probably be patched. Not gonna be a game of the year contender but not aIts not quite what I expected from Arkane. There really aren’t many games where you take the role of a predefined character and get dedicated narrative beats as you are playing cooperatively with friends who have all taken up different roles.

    Sure, this game isn’t perfect. Graphical    As someone who mostly prefers to play games that are cooperative in nature, Redfall delivers for me in a way that other games haven’t in a long while. There really aren’t many games where you take the role of a predefined character and get dedicated narrative beats as you are playing cooperatively with friends who have all taken up different roles.

    Sure, this game isn’t perfect. Graphical issues flicker on the screen, the game has booted me out to the character selected screen once or twice. Also, it is true that the enemy AI does seem to take too long to respond, or aren’t triggered fast enough. Some of the settings around how this game controls with a gamepass need adjustment, but this is currently doable in the options. All of this however doesn’t necessarily bring down the experience all that much as the game is still challenging (on hard difficulty) and a ton of fun with friends. Moving from mission to mission with friends is seamless. Loading in and fast traveling are very quick. There is so much opportunity for moments of emergent gameplay as you work with your buddies and combine your skills and abilities to take on missions which are designed to be approached in multiple ways. More, Redfall’s atmosphere has pulled me in. I’m interested to continue to unfold what’s happened in this town. And, overall, it’s art style hits a tone of being fun but also scary, mysterious. I think a lot of the discourse around this game stems from outside factors. There is very clearly a bias against MS and Xbox and I think it has mired a very special game. But even in just a matter of a few days it’s clear that public sentiment around this game does not match the critical reaction. I’ve seen people that haven’t played on Xbox in years sign online to try this game and I’ve received multiple messages about how it’s a ton of fun.

    I would recommend giving this game a try at some point. If the technical issues are a barrier for you, I would say come back later after they’ve been patched. But overall, I see myself finishing this completely in co-op at least once and even coming back to complete multiple times in solo play.    … Expand

    Speaking from someone whos played 20 hours solo the game is creepy as hell. The game is so atmospheric and dark that I think playing with other people would kind of ruin the experience of sneaking around corners through a dark house with your flashlight. Tons of details in the world and you can actually go inside a lot of houses/stores around the island.

    Performance wise, textures take a ton of time to load and framerate is just ok. I'm writing this a week after release so pretty par for the course for games these days. Devs already said they would support this game long after the release so if you want to buy it, wait a few months. If you have gamepass its a must play.    … Expand

    The result is a game with no identity of its own. Redfall simultaneously wants to be a looter shooter like Borderlands, in an open world like Fallout's, with action like Dying light and a lengthy multiplayer experience like Destiny. But it fails on all counts. The game environments are bleakly empty, the gameplay is wooden. Like the vampires from the world of Redfall, the game has no soul.

    Sadly, Redfall had unbelievable potential and a dynamic studio behind this that is known for quality gaming, but under delivered at quite literally almost every facet of the game. Redfall, unfortunately, should be avoided, and in fact, I hope that the industry starts taking a look at these games and starts evaluating its processes, because if you're only as good as your last game, then Arkane isn't looking good at all.
