It's a roster update and pretty much a performance downgrade. Why? We all know why. Sony just want to make it run better on a ps5. I really like baseball so, it's amazing that we don't have to pay anything extra since we have it on gamepass. They didn't even change the soundtrack.

The game isnt terrible but if you do not have Gamepass then i wouldnt spend 70 dollars on it if you already have the Show 22

The negro leagues content is a cool addition and the history videos are really interesting. The online stuff is still really hard to get into with 100mph pitchers blasting it past you, when you can’t react with the lag caused by online play. The game is great, but doesn’t do much more than the previous one. SDS is being stretched thinly; we all know that. What's made The Show good is still mostly there, but the recorded player names, the hitting, the commentary... all of these and the lack of a customizable jukebox puts this game down several notches.

If you got Early Access, SDS should owe you a little extra, because the FaceScan ability on the MLB 23 Companion App is not working for

If you are looking to play some baseball, MLB The Show 23 is 100% the first option to pick. It has game modes galore with control schemes to suit any kind of player. The presentation is absolutely fantastic and the in-game help can turn most players into proficient bat swinging monsters.

I can recommend MLB The Show 23, but not to everyone. It's a very good game that even players who aren't necessarily baseball fans can enjoy. And that's totally cool. Other sports series should also have such options. However, in terms of content, there are very few changes. The educational story mode in The Negro Leagues is great. Some minor changes in other modes are also nice. But it's more like an expansion of 22. Even on the technical side and also on the rules side.

MLB The Show 23 does enough to revamp an excellent formula, while the Storylines: Negro Leagues mode serves as an important history lesson within the confines of the game.
